Ascough's Bistro

Market Harborough-Little Bowden, Harborough, <20£
16/12/2018: Had a work Christmas meal at Ascoughs. It wasn’t quite as good as the times I have visited as a couple. Three courses, service charge and two glasses of wine came to £40.
15/12/2018: Good food and service. Quality over quantity so well worth the trip from Northampton. Slightly expensive if you eat out in London like we do but that’s down to competition. Very good experience but one thing I didn’t like is service charge. I tip for great food service and experience not because I am forced to. Hence 4 not 5 stars. Would I come again?? Yes.

Angelos Restaurant at the New Inn

Belper South, Amber Valley
28/12/2018: We were warmly welcomed. The menu is reasonably priced and the quality of the food is amazing. Can't wait to go back again. The staff were very friendly, couldn't ask for better service. We particularly liked the quality of balsamic vinegar we were given with our bread. You can even get a smaller version of the main for smaller appetites
23/12/2018: Really tasty pre Christmas meal very tasty friendly efficient staff as always our favourite eating restaurant consequative quality of food service & cleanliness from Angelia just can’t recommend this enough

Loughborough Southfields, Charnwood
12/12/2018: Great food, great choice and great atmosphere. Staff are wonderful. Plenty of vegan and vegetarian options.
11/12/2018: We went as a family group at the end of October and had a thoroughly good night. The staff were friendly but professional and the food was fab. We will certainly re visit in the new year.

Six Bells Witham

Bourne West, South Kesteven
03/01/2019: Visited the Six Bells after several recommendations. It’s a little out of the way, but well worth travelling too. The location is beautiful and it has been tastefully decorated and felt very relaxing. The toilets are so clean very impressed! The food is gorgeous. Between us we had a mixture of pizza, roast chicken and partridge. Desserts were just as good... lemon tart, chocolate fondant, panna cotta. I can see why it was recommended so many times to me.... this will definitely be a regular venue from now on. Well done guys, very impressed
29/12/2018: Although it takes some finding, its definitely worth going the food is absolutely divine and cooked to perfection by their talented Chef Ben Poulton, and wouldn't be surprised to see him on Master Chef one day, the restaurant/pub is nice and cosy perfect for a little romance or take the family, there's parking too and I do believe they do B&B; so its ideal as a base to visit Rutland and Stamford from

The Boot Inn

Repton, South Derbyshire
04/01/2019: The Boot Inn is a great place to eat. The restaurant itself has a very pleasant atmosphere and the food is excellent. My starter was the star of the show, a combination of amazing flavours that set the taste buds tingling! The staff are welcoming and friendly. Definitely worth a visit.
01/01/2019: We spent last night ...New Years eve at the Boot

Perkins Restaurant

Wolds, Rushcliffe, 60-100£
11/12/2018: Just back from lunch at Perkins. We took two special guests. We last paid a visit here in January.
11/12/2018: Our daughter-in-law found this bistro for our 36th wedding anniversary(today). But as our Surname is Perkins and we were married the same year as the bistro was opened it’s very surreal to go there on the date we were married.

Pamukkale Turkish Restaurant

Castle, Northampton
18/12/2018: 4 of us recently dined at this restaurant and have nothing but praise for it. My meal was no more than 1 minute after the other 3 meals and the manager came over, apologised for my meal being late and offered a free round of drinks for the 4 of us. I had the lamb shank and the meat fell off the bone. the atmophe was great and waiters were always available to deal with any request that we had. following the meal, a further round of complimentary drinks was offered and accepted. I ould recommend this restaurant to anyone.
15/12/2018: Good experience, I would like to find spicy free food for my girlfriend but I will come back for sure...

Bakewell, Derbyshire Dales, 30-45£
15/12/2018: This is an elegant restaurant. Beautifully presented, delicious food served by charming staff. The welcome was friendly and relaxed. The wine was delicious. An excellent venue.....lucky Bakewell. Highly recommended.
03/12/2018: Really fabulous food and Christina the owner is wonderful and engaging. We very much enjoyed our meal here, beautifully cooked. Would definitely recommend.

The Attic Restaurant

Bosworth, Harborough, 30-45£
23/12/2018: Another wonderful evening at this fantastic restaurant. Paul and his team looked after our party of 24 with ease. Great party goody box gave the inner child lots of amusement. We will be back for more of your delicious food. Thank you Paul
16/12/2018: We visited The Attic to celebrate a friend’s special birthday for Afternoon Tea. There was a mouth watering range of cakes, scones and sandwiches and little touches that made it extra special. The service was excellent and the food delicious. An excellent time was had by all.

Langar Hall Restaurant

Wiverton, Rushcliffe, 45-60£
13/12/2018: The worst food I've ever tasted. The vegetarian mains option was a so called cauliflower dish
02/12/2018: We were hoping that Langar Hall would become our regular go to restaurant after experiencing some exceptional food there previously this year, however we visited last night (1st December), and were left really disappointed and £140 lighter. We arrived for our 7.15pm table at 7.05pm only to be greeted with a " you had better dive on the sofa quickly to get a seat". We thought no more, but this was then followed minutes later with a young woman asking us if we knew what we wanted to eat as a party was coming in and they wanted our order. Bearing in mind this was before we even should have been due to arrive in the first place we thought it was very odd. The meal itself in terms of food quality was great, but we had eaten three courses and had coffee by 8.15pm. Rushed was an understatement, and the service was very poor, before we were seated our starters arrived, we had to ask for bread, etc etc. It was far from the relaxing evening out we were really looking forward to. Langar Hall had clearly bitten off more than it could chew on Saturday, with parties etc going on, however if you can't service your bread and butter clientele properly at the same time, then something needs to be done to rectify this. We mentioned our issues to front of house but the usual lady was not around and we didn't really feel that the problem was dealt with properly. What a real shame!

Tuckers Fish 'N' Chips

Masson, Derbyshire Dales
13/12/2018: Visited on a cold, damp day in December. Only a few people in but is was the end of the season and the illuminations had finished. Double checked we could bring our dog in and were greeted by a very friendly girl named Davina. She was a breath of fresh air and should be used as an example of excellence to other young people in the service industry. If there was a TripAdvisor award for service and friendliness, I would definitely nominate her. Regarding the food, some of the best fish we have had since our visit to Robin Hood's Bay earlier in the year and that was something special. Delicious light batter over pure white cod. Will visit every time we go to Matlock Bath.
06/11/2018: The food was excellent and the staff were lovely Fish was lovely and excellent chips. They also had fish cakes and sausage in batter so good choice

The Lamb Inn

Blackbrook, High Peak, <20£
11/12/2018: Had a brilliant lunch here. The food was fresh and different. The Lamb is a bit out of the way, but well worth a visit. Booking ideal at this time of year. The staff were friendly and prices good.
11/12/2018: We stopped here on a Monday night. The room was large, modern, comfortable and clean. The bed was very comfortable. The pub sold a range of well kept real ales and the food was extremely good both evening meal and breakfast. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the pub was full of character. We could not find fault with a single aspect of our stay. We will be staying at the Lamb Inn again. Elvis the chef is a gem.

The Cholmeley Arms

Glen Eden, South Kesteven
17/12/2018: Group of 4, all main courses well overcooked. Staff unwelcoming and all appeared to hate working there. Had it not been planned as a 'treat' and paid for by another member of the group would have complained at the time, but didn't want my friend to feel bad.
05/12/2018: This place has everything ....well established, friendly, warm and inviting.

St. Moritz Restaurant

Buxton Central, High Peak
02/01/2019: This restaurant never disappoints. Great Italian food at sensible prices freshly cooked and served with a smile! Visited in the evening post theatre and we could not fault it -thank you
01/01/2019: Great restaurant with really good atmosphere and good cookin. Would benefit from better vegetarian options.

Coalville, North West Leicestershire
09/12/2018: Been going here since they first opened, tonight was not great at all, too many waitresses standing talking when should be waitng tables,i should not have to ask for dessert menus,Manager was not really obliging when told things not up too scratch.
06/11/2018: Went out for date night, laid back dining - staff were lovely, attentive and accommodating all evening. Food was fantastic, we had the chefs special - a mix of hot and cold starters followed by a rice and mixed meat sharing dish - perfect for an evening for two, just make sure you arrive hungry as you won’t be disappointed!
