Ascough's Bistro

Market Harborough-Little Bowden, Harborough, <20£
01/03/2019: We went to Ascoughs for Lunch today. There was a set price for two or three courses. The food was excellent and thoroughly enjoyed by us all. The restaurant was bright and modern. Will certainly go back.
25/02/2019: Always amazing, but on Saturday I was blown away. Due to my ridiculous dietary requirements I am always a challenge and need substituted items on most dishes. This time I chose the scallops despite the original recipe being totally unsuitable for me. After what could only have been 15 minutes at most, I was presented with scallops on a potato and prawn risotto. it was absolutely delicious. Impromptu and creative brilliance. Thanks to all at Ascough's; see you soon.

Angelos Restaurant at the New Inn

Belper South, Amber Valley
10/03/2019: Having wanting to try Angelos for a long time, we managed to book a table on a very busy Saturday night. It did not disappoint - delicious food, quaint surroundings, and hearty portions. The only downside we felt was the incredibly short space of time between courses. Between 5-10 minutes between starter and main meant we felt rushed, and I couldn’t enjoy my main as much as I was quite full! Next time we go we will definitely ask for some time between courses to have a breather. Other than that, the food was great quality, as was the wine. Pricey but worth it! We will return.
23/02/2019: We were made to feel very welcome as soon as we arrived, the staff we’re very friendly and explained dishes on the menu to us. Service was very quick and there were plenty off staff working so if you needed anything there was always someone available. I would highly recommend and will definitely re-visit. Also portion sizes are very generous!

Six Bells Witham

Bourne West, South Kesteven
11/03/2019: Wow! We reserved a table for seven on a week-night, well in advance to avoid disappointment. Upon arrival, we received a warm & friendly greeting and were seated in the Bar until all of our party had arrived, then we were seated right away, close to the wonderful pizza oven which looked and smelled fantastic! We couldn't fault anything, the service was excellent - we felt really looked after without being put under any pressure. The food was amazing too, with about half of us choosing Pizzas and the rest choosing from the main menu. My own choice of Venison was outstanding, served on a dauphinoise potato bar with flavoured with truffle oil, yummy. For Dessert, Chef made me a Crème Anglaise even though it wasn't on the Menu that evening. I can't wait to dine there again. I couldn't even tell you if there was Wifi, free or otherwise, becuase we were all too bust laughing & eating.
10/03/2019: Excellent food and service as always. We arrived a little early and had to wait beyond our booking, not a problem. Great beer on tap and a good place to watch the clientele. Only gripe, car park is a tad small. You must try the pizzas- even if it's only as a take away.

Loughborough Southfields, Charnwood
17/03/2019: I visited with my partner about 2 weeks ago for some lunch. We ended up getting chicken shawarma since it's a dish that we usually eat in my home country and hallumi. Although the hallumi was amazing, the chicken was nothing like we expected, it was too dry and the pitta bread was too hard. I would have given more stars if the staff member came to check if everything was alright with the food (which they did, only after we asked for the bill and the plate of my partner was completely full).
16/03/2019: Had a lovely mezze at lunchtime in the back covered courtyard area and really enjoyed the food selection and apple tea :)

Perkins Restaurant

Wolds, Rushcliffe, 60-100£
03/03/2019: It’s been a long time since I’ve been here, ashamedly, and I was really impressed. Layout light and airy, attentive but not intrusive staff, and a very good prix fixe lunch menu.
23/02/2019: Wow what can I say... if I’m totally honest I’ve been here a few times. It is honestly one of my favourite places to go for food!

The Boot Inn

Repton, South Derbyshire
18/03/2019: The food was very good. We got an amuse-bouche before the starters which was delicious, the starters and mains were very well presented and tasted delicious. The puddings as well were very good too, sampling all dessert options between us. The service was great, the staff are very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend. We have eaten down the Boot many times and have never had a bad meal. A truly fantastic local pub.
17/03/2019: Sunday lunch menu, but you have to pay an extra supplement for the roast beef? I'm not sure I understand this one? The quality of food was nice but the whole plate was stone cold! If I'm orderering a hot dinner I expect hot food on my plate. Over £70 for a meal for 2 with one drink each, I'd expect a whole lot better! Sorry but won't be back.

The Attic Restaurant

Bosworth, Harborough, 30-45£
07/03/2019: Stumbled upon this restaurant on Tripadvisor purely by accident, Promising reviews so thought we would pay a visit.
16/02/2019: This restaurant has many positives: the ample parking for example, the nice toilets, the setting is very nice with views over the golf course and inside it's cosy and nicely decorated.

Bakewell, Derbyshire Dales, 30-45£
19/03/2019: Really nice restaruant, welcoming from the start and solid service.
03/03/2019: Derbyshire is rich in good quality restaurants and this must be one of, if not the best. You are greeted at the door by one of the owners and taken to you table where the service is exemplary. We eat out at least once every week and know good, and not so good service. Margaret was bubbly and professional yet maintained a warm friendly manner. The food was also of the highest order I had bouillabaisse (fish stew in tomato)as a starter and it was perfectly cooked with decent pieces of fish in it. My main was succulent lamb with perfectly cooked veg. I then had the cheese board again a range of tasty cheeses not like some where they just have various boring and bland offerings. It's not cheap but it is well worth it for a special night out. The only small negative is the parking, it hasn't got it's own car park and the parking bays on the streets around Bakewell on Saturday evening are full. You need to park in a public car park and walk but it is well worth it, there are worse places to stroll through in the evening. Top notch service, food and venue, we will be going back.

Tuckers Fish 'N' Chips

Masson, Derbyshire Dales
19/03/2019: We were there on a Sunday, there were quite a few people queuing outside just before 12 noon opening. Excellent fish and chips. Fish tasty and flaky, chips chunky and with bite. Good ambiance, very related. Quite a few families including four or five families with young children like us. Tasty lunch, very reasonable price.
27/02/2019: Visied with my wife and 2 grandchildren at half term. The service was quick to say how busy it was by friendly attentative staff.Although it may be slightly more expensive the quality of the food was great.

Pamukkale Turkish Restaurant

Castle, Northampton
19/03/2019: The restaurant has been relocated to these premises. The restaurant does look good with some rock work reflecting essence of parmakule. However the portion for the special mixed grill are smaller compared to other local Turkish restaurants. It’s good for special occasions otherwise effes is a better choice for value for money.
17/03/2019: Quick Friday lunch date with pal. Quick service, delicious food. Just miss that lovely pitta type bread you used to serve

The Lamb Inn

Blackbrook, High Peak, <20£
14/03/2019: Four of us ate here on a Tuesday lunchtime and we all enjoyed the food. We had 2 starters each and we were full at the end. I had the pate and then the pork ribs: so tasty. Good real ale too, and the ladies said the wine was delicious. Fabulous, friendly service into the bargain.
12/03/2019: Been a few times now to The Lamb and standards are only getting better. Portion sizes never fail to fill, and reasonable prices! (Hard to find in the area) Always greeted with a smile . Staff go above and beyond to make it a pleasant time for us all. Highly recommend

Langar Hall Restaurant

Wiverton, Rushcliffe, 45-60£
10/03/2019: Have to say that the food was a half and half experience. My husband enjoyed his starter and lamb but I can't say the same for mine. I started with salmon and beetroot that was drowned in creme friache. Followed by crispy tortellini which tasted deep fried and greasy. Even my rich chocolate dessert wasn't great so after two mouthfuls I gave up and left it. Shame the food wasn't as nice as the amuse-bouches served in the bar area which were fantastic.
06/03/2019: My son’s 16th birthday was a joy, celebrated in muted, tasteful style with glorious food and the best service we have received in a long time! Dedicating the menu to him was a humorous and welcoming touch. Thank you.

St. Moritz Restaurant

Buxton Central, High Peak
19/03/2019: Never had a bad meal at st moritz, staff always welcoming and Nothing is to much trouble, we love it !! 👏
19/03/2019: After seeing on the website it seem smaller on the ground floor. Cosy restaurants can be good.

The Old Bank

Rothwell, Kettering
17/03/2019: Once again very tasty food, attentive staff and pleasant surroundings. We will be back. The only drawback is the parking in the area but that is not the fault of the restaurant.
13/03/2019: My friend and I visited on a very wet Tuesday lunchtime. The weather appeared to have put people off of eating out as there was only 6 of us in the restaurant. This is such a pity as the £10 for 2 courses lunch menu is very good value for money. I had the hummus followed by the lamb stew and my friend had the halloumi and the chicken kebab. We also had 3 soft drinks and a coffee. Our bill was a very reasonable £30.

Ania Polish Restaurant

Sherwood, Nottingham
02/03/2019: Anyone who goes here will definitely return, The food was amazing and the service couldn't of been any better. Good varied menu with something for everyone. There is an offer on Tues - Thurs which I think is 50% off food, This is brilliant but it is well worth full price.
13/02/2019: Four of us visited this restaurant a couple of weeks ago and we all had the most amazing meal, brilliant starters, excellent mains and the portions were so generous that we had to share an amazing cheesecake between the four of us. First time eating Polish food and we cannot wait to go back. The owner and all the staff were lovely and the restaurant was lovely and warm, so I do not understand previous reviews! Just saying!!! Highly recommend this restaurant.
