We were so looking forward to spending time and soaking up the atmosphere and food at the fleece. Unfortunately although the staff were pleasant enough, the service was very poor and the food was barely edible. Food was luke warm,Chips cooked in old dirty fat and left an awful taste,we couldn't even finish our meal. We left to find another place for dessert. We would not recommend it.

The Punch Bowl is a traditional pub dating back to 1765. It has several cosy unspoiled rooms. The front of the pub is mock Tudor style built in 1930 after a fire. There is a good choice of draught beers including cask conditioned hand pulled real ales. The ones we tried were in excellent condition. The staff are very welcoming and the pub is dog friendly.

Classic Sam Smiths pub with coal fires. Obviously no music, no use of phones, and swearing. But you know what you’re getting with a Sam Smiths pub and if you don’t like it, go elsewhere. There’s a Wetherspoons not fair away. There are rooms upstairs which are comfortable, well priced, and perfectly decent. Lovely breakfast in the morning as well.
