This is a brilliant little pub with a fantastic sun-trap of a beer garden. Been going in quite a bit more recently and the pub staff are all fantastic, really friendly and welcoming to locals and tourists alike. £2.70 ales on tuesday is a very welcome offer, as is free Pool on mondays. Had some chicken wings the other day and they were delicious too. All-in-all, a lovely, friendly pub with great drinks, good and atmosphere.

Lovely little pub hidden away and found it by chance. The pub is lovely and clean and has lots of beautiful old features. Staff are really friendly and were able to suggest plenty for me to do whilst I’m in York.

Wished we could have sat in the beer garden, in the sunshine, all afternoon. And what good fun there barman was. Great beer and a good laugh.

Everything about this pub was awful. Barman rude and making offensive comments, place dishevelled, I did not feel comfortable or safe in this pub.

Went as it was said to be LGBT friendly, wasn't a single pride flag during June but the atmosphere was nice. Multiple screens showing football so good for that. Lovely beer garden.

Always like this little Gem on a busy Saturday in town, centrally located but not full of stags and hens - cheap friendly pint without all the Geordie hoards.

The staff are friendly, great pub, outside seating. Beer (Hand pulled) on a Tuesday only £2.70. Well worth a visit.

Very nice pub. Its situated on a side street, Friendly staff and good prices. They do really good pizzas aswell, The prices are very reasonable, the pub itself is full of local history for anyone interested.

In York for a short break with my wife and found this great little pub by chance. A really friendly atmosphere, great beer and a lovely big resident dog! We will be back on our next visit to York

Homophobia attitude rude and manager very aggressive and intimidating will never recommend this pub to any one I was on my sons stag do and apparently Malibu and Coke isn’t a man’s drink

If I could give it a zero I would, not sure how to approach the bar manager other than homophobic, if I ask for a drink I don't expect a sarcy remark on the edge of homophobia. Other than dressed in Hawaiian skirts for our stag we're pretty normal. Also whilst we was waiting to be served a man at the bar was asking for his deposit back from the pool vue that his 9yr old apparently damaged, that they wouldn't give.. Would never come back here.

We attended with friends, a nice quite pub off the beaten track, good range of beers, staff were helpful, has a dart board and pool table.

Lovely olde world city pub. Beer good, but limited choice. Bargains on a Tuesday. Well worth a pop in.

Another of my favourite York pubs. A little off the beaten trail so lots of locals and not too many tourists..unlike Madge and Booth. Like a country pub in the city and high enough to avoid flooding. A selection of three real ales from the Marston's stable. Booth had Boondoggle from the now closed Ringwood brewery tradition. Very friendly landlord. Has a pool room to the side but I prefer the cosy original parts. Has outdoor seating.

Proper local boozer run by a proper gaffer with personality. First went here in 1989 when it was a John Smith's pub. It's still worth popping in.

The corner Pin York is a very good pub and i would describe it has a Hidden Gem. The landlord and his staff do everything to make you feel welcome and drinks selection is good and reasonable priced. They also do Pizza what are very good and reasonable priced. If looking for a bar that is friendly and good value i would highly recommend the Corner Pin for that traditional pub experience and i rate this five stars.

A good hidden little pub. Brilliant staff. Feels like a traditional country pub despite being within the city walls. The prices are low for York, about £3.50 to £4.20 for a pint of real ale. Also about 3 minutes from the train station,. Nice little place and I will be back when I'm next in this part of town.

Great pub tucked away, will be visiting again, nice gem in a quieter area but still only 5 minutes from the station. Was just a quick pint but happy to spend a few hours there next time.

Found this pub while looking for somewhere to get a drink at lunchtime. It was a good find of a traditional pub with lots of small nooks and crannies. Has a warm welcoming atmosphere. A nice selection of drinks.

First time visiting, popped in before we headed back home after a day out in York, such a warm and welcoming pub and the guy behind the bar was so canny. Will deffo pop back in on our next visit 😊

Had a couple of hours to kill before we could check in to hotel and found this. Too cold to sit out but nice little outdoor area 5/6 tables & dog friendly. Good draught selection & wines. They do Pizzas but unfortunately there were problems when we went.

Cozy pub just a short walk from The Grand. The landlord was a hoot - gave us a round of shots and showed us his pig collection (yes, he collects pigs...and frogs...). Had a great time!

Great place. Good value for money, the pints are good, the lanorf gave us a free shot really nice guys and friendly staff will be back.

I loved this little pub. Tucked into one of the charming ancient buildings that make old York what it is, this place stood out for its old-world charm. From the low ceilings to the cozy sofa benches with pillows the Corner Pin welcomes you in like a pint of your favourite brew on a blustery day. It just feels good in here. Definitely stop for some bevvies.

For a Marston pub - no white Zinfandel. Bar man needs to crack a smile. Dryer didn't work in gents toilet. Cash only???

Friendly pub with a great atmosphere

This pub has long been a favourite of our trips to York. Whenever we go to York we always get a great welcome here. Stef is a great bloke with lots of cheery banter and is a generous host not only to us but to his regulars as well. He makes a mean sausage n beans pizza( sounds awful!!) But delicious😋 Met a lovely Scottish couple there and like Stef, they made us feel welcome in their company. Will always come back here on every visit. It's a "wee local" away from home. Thanks peeps for such great hospitality! Go here if you visit York. It's one of York's hidden treasures ❤️

Corner Pin has been my local since Steff and Greg took over. Always a friendly face, good pint and people to chat with.

What a great traditional proper pub. We loved it and wished this was our local. The staff and landlord were brilliant, and the locals were off the scale, you could have good banter with them, with a special mention to Marley, the lovely four legged friend that came in. Good priced drinks with a great atmosphere.

Called in for a real ale and we ended up staying for pizza was very welcoming and great value and the pizzas were lovely will definitely be returning

My boyfriend and I were visiting York and were looking for a local pub that has an inviting, cozy and friendly vibe. We found it in the Corner Pin. We loved the rich history of the area and definitely felt transported to another time. A nice pint and great conversations with the staff and locals, really immersed us into the culture. We even joined in on a trivia night event on New Year’s Eve that was amazing, entertaining and so much fun. Definitely looking forward to a return trip to the pub to reconnect with new friendships over a pint.

This pub is very friendly and after a few visits you get into the crowd of regulars and the 'crack" is amazing. The pizzas are a regular in my diet and are tasty and well cooked. The beer is well kept and tasty, the wine...

Always visit when I'm in York, good craft beers and lagers, lovely beer garden and smoking area. Rooms quite eclectic, something for everyone. Food served but I have not eaten.

Wow, talk about a mess. Customers had to beg for toilet paper, there was a dog in there on the bench in the corner barking and the owner doing coke in the toilets

We came across this pub by accident as our train was delayed so thought we would pop in. if you are nearby definitely worth a visit. It's also like a tardis looks small from the outside but is huge inside. Would recommend for sure

Visiting York for the Rugby league World Cup and popped in here for a quick beer while waiting for the Bus up to the LNER Stadium. Unfortunately they'd pretty much run out of beer, waiting for a delivery, so we had a couple of bottles. We were the only one's in. A small bar area but a big conservatory and outside space. The guys who served us were friendly but slightly distracted
