The best restaurants serving Other cuisines food in York Yorkshire and The Humber

Similar to a previous reviewer, I thought the place was a bit disorganised. We arrived after 12 and ordered the soup. Took a while for someone to take our order, despite there only being only 6 other customers in the place at that point, and at least four waiting staff. Sat for another 20 mins with no soup coming and very little coming out to the tables to other diners. I measn, how long does it take to ladle out two soups, which I presume has been made in advance? In the end I went to the cashdesk and asked had they forgotten. Within 2 mins the soup arrived with apologies. The soup was delicious but as the cafe started filling up with lots of other customers (and very little activity from the staff) we decided to forego the dessert. Either there is only one poor person in the kitchen trying to cater for everyone, or the staff need better training. Sorry, but we won't be going back.

Popped in for a bite before work and noticed that it was filled with dirty tables which made me want to take away as i went to get my tuna sandwich i noticed a pair of scissors just lying there as i gave it to the guy working he looked completely clueless, once my food was cooked they picked it up with their hands!! and just shoved it in the packaging so when it came to eating it, most of the tuna and cheese was stuck to the top and it was not enjoyable. I wish I went back to complain and get my money back but I just didn't have time by then

Gran selección de baguettes, la vegetariana podría hacer con un poco más houmous o la opción de comprar una olla pequeña en el lateral. ¡A mi marido le encantaba la baguette de pollo al curry!

Had lunch here when visiting castle howard for the first time on the 5th August. I had the tomato soup, my husband had a duck wrap. The soup was terrible. Tasted like watered down chopped tomatoes. Bland, thin and slightly metallic tasting. Not worth £7.50. Wrap was ok, but prepreapred and starting to go soggy. This cafe needs to seriously up its game to keep up with the prestige of the surroundings. When you've already paid so much for tickets you expect a nice lunch!

Now renamed Sonnys Best cafe in town. Not ‘sophisticated’ but good old fashioned cafe. Great choice of food from bacon and egg bap, full English to baguettes, paninis, delicious soups and stews and salads. It really is to draw and way better than the Kawa House next door (a bit pretentious). Go! You won’t go wrong.

The Six Bells is a large modern comfortable sam smiths pub, so it has the sam smiths range of beers. I like the bitter and largers, and they also do some nice bottled beers. There is a cosy bar with a pool table and a large main room for meals. The staff are friendly mobile phones and dogs are banned.

Really nice food, good quality and a nice place to spend time with friends. The server, Brogan, had great customer service and was so polite

La habitación se suponía que era una habitación de lujo con vistas al río, y aunque teníamos una buena vista del río, la habitación en sí era muy básico. Estaba muy mal, con una decoración pobre y gastada. Solo había 2 perchas en el armario, ningún otro lugar para colgar abrigos o colocar ropa, como una silla o ganchos de abrigo. La ventana tenía una sola cortina, que estaba a punto de colgar de una barra de cortina mal equipada. El baño, aunque bastante moderno, no tenía toalleros ni ningún lugar para colocar artículos de tocador. También le faltaba un soporte para rollos de papel higiénico. Estábamos incómodos con la ventana en el baño, que, aunque opaca, la gente de fuera todavía vería a cualquiera que use el inodoro o ducha ya que no había cortinas. La puerta del baño no se cerraba correctamente, y las bisagras estaban muy crujientes. La cama estaba bien, pero no era particularmente cómodo, y el edredón estaba equipado con una cubierta demasiado pequeña. Los pasillos que conducen a la habitación fueron pintados con una pintura gris opaca, descascarada, y rayados en muchos lugares. Evitar a toda costa.

We cannot recommend this cafe highly enough! Very well set out in view of covid rules and regulations- very clean - super friendly staff and a jolly good selection of snacks/meals. Coffee really good. Toilets are on the same floor with excellent facilities.

Possibly the worst bakery in the north of England. Makes the pound bakery look like the Ivy. I ordered two steak bakes and when my children bit into them they were stone cold. I went back into the shop to explain and all I got back was it's cold service? In my many years on this planet I have never been to a bakery where the food is not at least warm. Other bakery will tell you if the food is cold. This food had been sitting there for a while, it tasted disgusting. Luckily there was a Greggs around the corner which saved the day. Poor food, poor staff. AVOID.

Personal extremadamente grosero, ambiente desagradable, bebidas poco inspiradas, baños sucios. Varias mesas tenían vasos medio llenos apilados en ellas - más tarde nos dimos cuenta de que probablemente fueron dejados por los clientes anteriores que se levantaron y se fueron a mitad de sus bebidas, probablemente porque no se le permite salir de su teléfono, ni siquiera por un segundo.
