Very disappointing visit,difficult to understand what the foreign lady on the counter was saying was not offered tea or maybe it was but couldn’t understand what she said, was not told the system eg take an order flag and were to get condiments utensils etc. the breakfast was very poor overcooked plate barely warm sausage was the a bullet bacon like leather beans cold, all together a poor meal, won’t be going there again. I used to regularly visit this cafe but this was my first visit since the covid lockdown previously it was excellent but not now shan’t be going there again have to try Tesco again now that I will visiting Clifton Moor regularly again.

It's a shop with a cafe in it. Some stuff is cheap but not as cheap as used to be

Reasonably priced if you're out shopping and want a quick bite to eat.

The lemon 🍋 cake is amazing. Lovely staff and great coffee at a very reasonable price.

Lovely atmosphere & great food & staff

Called in during a shopping trip and ordered an 'all day brunch' at 11:15 only to be told at the till they finish serving breakfast at 11:30 despite been offered a 7 item breakfast which also ended at 11:30 instead. When it arrived it wasn't very hot, Luke warm. To me, an 'all day' brunch should mean all day and not just till 11:30. The orange and poppy seed cake we had afterwards saved the meal as it was very nice, just don't understand why I couldn't have my first choice as on the menu boards it was described as an all day brunch.

Called in for breakfast. First order taken wrong by foreign lady. Then table behind us she send wrong food out. When our food arrived the Pannini was over cooked and my husband said he could have shaved with it. The toilet in the ladies had blooded toilet paper at side of toilet. Not a good experience.

Nice place to have a deserving cuppa when you're out shopping. It's what it is and the staff are friendly, so alls good.

We visited the Wilco cafe on the off-chance as our allergic 2 year old was getting hungry. We were delighted to meet a young server who had extensive knowledge of which foods were safe for her to eat. Unfortunately the gluten free bread had sold out by lunch time but we managed with jacket potatoes. Thank you Joel (Simpson?) for your excellent customer service. I hope your manager appreciates the care you take with customers.

I always use Wilco cafe at Clifton Moor. York. I used to use Tesco but its too busy. I usually only get a coffee it is delicious. Many thanks to the staff.

It used to better. Maybe I was there on an off day.

Staff are great food is good as is the service. A little slow on clearing tables and Sanitising has dropped off. 8/10.

They had closed early due to a lack of staff, no apologies just a rude "we're closed" when we questioned it we were told he had no staff

Cafe and food was good. But I think that they could do with more staff helping out in the kitchen . Because they were struggling. Especially when it is busy.

Very disappointed first choice was not avaliable second choice some ingredients again unacceptable what came was clearly reheated from god nows how long though the girl that made our coffee did a great job very nice latte served love and hot defiantly need a cook that knows his / her stuff

Very friendly member of staff however we had to wait far too long for our food. Staff member apologised and explained that they only had qty 3 Staff.

Always welcoming and friendly staff, good hot food and portion sizes always ready to help.

wilco cafe is a very ideal place to bring our 92yr old frail mum who loves the cafe and shop. the staff at the cafe are so kind and helpful thank you for the perfect service.

This is an edited version. It was supposed to be a review of Durham Cathedral and somehow has become attached to Wilko's in York. So, concerning Durham Cathedral .... Impressive architecture, much of it Norman. An important location in the history of Christianity in Northern England, and an important centre today, with its links in an industrial region, and a significant theological presence in the nearby university. Sorry Wilko's - I'm sure your café is fine - it's a useful, clean and bright shop, but doesn't compare with the massive Norman architecture overlooking the River Wear. Google Maps - has your database become corrupted?!?

I have always had good food here but the scones there surpass everything. Home made and delicious. I also love the coffee here. The staff are so friendly and go above and beyond. I must mention the lovely Clare who served me on Friday. I wasn’t having the best of days but she really cheered me up.

Just have to comment on the Scones ... They are wonderful . Come,all the way from Filey for them and a coffee . While in the queue I,was watching the rubbish the staff have to put up with . Well done to them it handled it great

Nice Staff and a Relaxed Atmosphere. Food was delivered to my table quickly and most importantly Hot. Very Nice 🙂

Me and my wife had a small 6 item breakfast .When it arrived the sausage was raw and cold in the middle .We sent it back and on return the sausage was gain raw and cold .The beans and tomatoes were also lukewarm at best .We again gave them back and aaked for a refund .The assistant insisted that everything was up to temperature and was sorry they were not to our standard .

Having complained to head office and had no reply. This cafe is chaotic and understaffed. The cook, serves and clears tables .There's nothing wrong with the food

Food not good won't be eating here again , orderd cheese burger and chips and cheese toasty and chips 2 coffees, none was eatable bread Rock hard, burger burnt and hard no taste what so ever, £20 spent and couldn't eat it, toasty was same old bread

The Wilko Cafe at Clifton Moor, has for the past few years served as a place to take the family for Breakfast, Lunch, even Dinner. Recently, with the popularity of going to the Vue Cinema there, it drops in time as to Breakfast or Lunch, before or after seeing a movie. The meals are a little pricy, though they are of good quality and average measure for what you pay. Yes there are other places to get food, but with Wilko, there is a less chaotic atmosphere to enjoy your meal or drinks. To enjoy their presentations before, or after a good shop-a-bargain is well recommended.

Coffee was nice but service was slow went for coffee and a bacon sandwich but noticed three or four people waiting so only had time for coffee

Visited this morning after not being there since before the pandemic and I noticed a change of management and food quality & presentation was really good! Lovely full English & pot of tea to wash it down. Polite and friendly staff too!

The cafe is always nice and clean and the staff smiling and helpful, the food is as you might expect for a store cafe and reasonably priced. Overall, it's good all round.

Never been to Wilko Cafe but Google says I have or at least my phone did. Anyway, I'm sure it's very nice 5 star.

Not a bad cup of coffee ☕ served here and the breakfast looks good too.

Food decent enough and quite good value. Lost a star for the amount of uncleaned and dirty used tables resulting in very limited places to sit and eat at. I know there are peak times etc but this was 14:00 and did the situation did not improve while we were sat down! Another star lost as the member of staff serving did not know what a 'Flat White' was or how to make it. A white filter coffee was about the only alternative available on offer. Maybe more training required?

Overpriced basic cafe be careful at the till we were overcharged for a meal deal the toilets were not working when we visited either

Poor experience today and doubtful if we will go back again. Service was unbelievably slow, several people got fed up waiting and left. Our chips were not cooked through properly and the sandwich was overpriced.

Had lovely meal hot and freshly cooked so had to wait a bit for it but was well worth it. (Cottage pie )

Nice breakfast 😋 you can get a 6,8or10 piece breakfast. I had the 6 piece breakfast which consists of 1egg, 1sausage,1 rasher of bacon, bean's, tin tomatoes and 1 slice of fried bread or toast.

Shut because of The Boris Bug + hardware/homeware shops have no business encroaching on other cafes. Anyway, Wilko are actually expensive compared to Home Bargains.
