Buena cerveza, pizza épica (caprino) y ambiente tranquilo. ¡Las patatas fritas no son ni la mitad de malas! Un lugar acogedor lejos del viento. Apreciaba especialmente la falta de música.

Really lovely food, freshly cooked and presented in a very appetising way. Friendly service. Good menu and great prices.

I don’t know why there are so many negative comments on this bar? Although I never ate the 3 lads on the bar were very friendly, there is 3 largers on tap along with a cider. Very good prices for an airport hotel bar.

We were given a choice of tables and picked one near the back. Quite slow to take our order (comped us a beer) which was for warm breads to start and two pan-fried chicken with hassleback potatoes and tarragon jus. The food was very tasty. Service from our waitress was good, but the two waitresses were doing all the work, whilst the three waiters did a lot of walking around looking busy. When we asked for the bill, it was explained that they had a problem with their system and couldn’t charge to the room. I explained that we had a F&B credit so needed to charge to the room. Took about 20 minutes to resolve, but got there eventually! £76 including 12.5% service charge.

A lovely and friendly country pub. We were lucky enough to visit on an evening where a band was playing which was great. We pre ordered a grazing box which went down well with the selection of gins on offer from the bar.

Probably one of the best I have been in very spacious with outside beer garden had the gourmet steak as well did not stay there a good place to end up after some riverside walks

I booked a table for 3 for Sunday lunch. The roast was excellent and at a very reasonable price. The staff where extremely friendly and helpful. We will definitely come again.

I have been looking forward for a long time to taste the Caribbean sheff food but we were very disappointed the food was not very hot and at a cook myself it looked and tasted as through it had just been warned up it was very dry as though it had been cooked a lot earlier flavour was very good Not the same as when he was at the Astor and it was all cooked fresh. Disfrutamos de una cena familiar aquí. La comida era excepcional, bien presentada y muy, muy sabrosa. Y servido por personal súper amable y bien informado. Tienen una excelente elección de ales y espíritus de tiro. El arado está en una ubicación fantástica también. No veo la hora de volver.

Excellent value for the location. Sat upstairs with a view of the castle. Decent, no frills food. 3 meals, including drinks, £27.

Love this spoon’s, staff are always friendly the beers cheap (nice to get two pints and change out of a fiver) and the foods not bad !

Always go here when out in Newport. Has a great atmosphere at the weekend. Can get busy around 5pm in evenings. Its spoons so cheap food and drink compared to other pubs in the area.

Last minute booking on a busy Wednesday night, the food was lovely, Amelie was very friendly and attentive as were the two other gents serving and it was lovely and warm inside the restaurant which was especially appreciated whilst it’s -1 outside! We’ve been many times and it’s always amazing here!
