My sister and I visited Faversham on 29th March and popped into The Sun Inn for lunch. We decided to try the Charcuterie Board Sharer. It was not far off the size of a charcuterie starter I've had elsewhere. There were four slices each of salami, chorizo and coppa ham, plus two tiny pieces of cheese and four cornichons. There was one and a half slices of a small loaf of bread as well and this cost £16. We then had to ask for butter and waited ages for this, and only on looking back at the menu realised it should have been served with olive oil and balsamic vinegar, but this was missing. We left feeling very hungry and conned, as it wasn't even especially nice. I could have put that together with Aldi ingredients for about £3. Very poor value for money.

The staff were amazing, very friendly and polite, always smiling and very attentive. Service was also quick, not waiting too long to order drinks and food. But we was waiting for a bit to receive drinks and as well as starters and mains. Which was okay as we were having a long catch-up with our family. So we didn't mind the wait. But others might be more impatient than us. Food came out pipping hot. The starters went down like a treat, and two of our party had the dirty fries. Which they thoroughly enjoyed. One party member had the prawns and said it was delicious and the other the H fries. The mains I was slightly disappointed in the rack of ribs, really lacked of flavour. But once I spread it in BBQ sauce, it was fine. It was very well cooked and a good portion too. Two other party members had the traditional subday roast beef and said it was delicious, and my partner had the pie of the day. He said it was okay. The puddings were a real hit. I have been here a few times and will always return. A great place, good atmosphere and the staff are really wonderful. Very modern restaurant great atmosphere. I definitely would visit again.

Called in for another of our regular visits and found the usual very nice coffees served by the friendly cheerful staff. Only surprise was that another price rise had been slapped on, another 15p! Well on the way to being the first £4 cup of coffee in the town. Come on Finch House, the place is obviously a goldmine so why the need to fleece regular clientele with these frequent price rises.

Went for an Easter meal with family. Although the vegetation carvery option (nut roast) wasn’t available, I had the veg and potatoes from the carvery stand and it was great. Lovely selection and cooked to perfection. Ordered a Prosecco and changed my mind. The staff kindly swapped it without a fuss, so that was great service. It’s a shame the paper tablecloths don’t fit the tables, but that’s a small thing in an otherwise good place to have a roast.

My husband and I visited the Eyston Arms last night for an evening meal. Joining us was our elderly dog. We were given a delightful table in front of the fireplace. The service was so prompt and friendly, even supplying a blanket, water and biscuits for the dog. The starters of chipolatas and pork belly bits were delicious, as were the mains which was the pie of the day. The bar area and the tables were all buzzing with patrons on a Wednesday night which is testament to the quality of this pub. I wish the Eyston Arms was my local pub!

I've been in and ate 3 or 4 times now and it's the only Costa I go to were the staff don't seem very happy or friendly. They don't go that extra mile which is disappointing. They never seem to have the full range and they gave me a dirty spoon last time I went in which was Monday 25th of November. Drinks and food very nice, service not so great.

It's ok for a stop gap while shopping but still needs a new décor and other toilet

This is one of our favourite places in Cowes, and usually eat here once or twice a month, but on a recent visit we were disappointed with the new menu. It would appear they’ve gone for pice over quality with the new menu. They used to pride themselves on using local produce, but on the menu there is no mention of locally sourced produce. My wife had the breaded haddock, which was dry, and I had the steak and ale pie, both of which had obviously been mass produced and were definitely not homemade and not upto usual Anchor standards. We’ll still pop in for a dink but sadly we won’t eat her again unless the menu improves.

This was our second visit here for lunch after a really good experience in January. The inn has two eating areas and the one by the bar is the cosier of the two. The service is very good, with genuine smiles and a wish that you enjoy your meal. The food quality is good too overall. On our first visit we had the Korean prawns which were really good but sadly no longer on the menu. We opted this time for the burger and the Frito Misto. The burger was really well done and came with a delicate coleslaw and small salad. The Misto was a selection of panko prawns, squid, scampi and cod goujons; both had a portion of what I call ‘filler chips’ but you often get that at lunch. The menu does lack a variety of sides; its basically chips done different ways. The wine list is decent though and well priced. We realised afterwards we got caught out on the coffee. We asked for double expresso’s and received simply a doubled up single expresso. At £6 a cup that’s twice what you’d pay in London. Would we come back? Sadly no there are better in nearby Ickham and Wingham but plenty do looking at the reserved tables.
