As the last couple of visits here had been disappointing it was with some reservation that we agreed to join friends for an evening meal. What a contrast, the manager was welcoming, visible but not intrusive, the young waitress who looked after us was charming and efficient. We were not rushed but did not wait too long for our food, which we all agreed was hot, tasty and beautifully presented. (3 different starters, 4 mains and 2 puddings). The whole place seemed clean and tidy and nicely decorated. Prices reasonable. Well done Team

We had such a lovely dinner tonight, the linguini was so delicious, and Georgia our server was a delight. She helped us decide on our wines, the Portuguese Red was a great recommendation. The food was great and service was amazing, always attentive. We will definitely be returning! Thank you.

Myself and my family went to Bosham Inn today for our Christmas Day dinner. It was so disappointing to which I made the comment “next year I’ll cook at home”. The meal cost £93 per head. On entering the dining area, the Christmas decorations were scant and didn’t feel like Christmas at all. The table we were sat at had no table cloth (it is Christmas Day!) bit of cutlery and a few crackers to pull. There was no extra effort made for the day at all. Not even water for the table. Out waitress took our drinks order, who whispered to us and didn’t not hear what we were saying to her, so communication was not great. Drinks arrived after our meal was served. The starters were good, no problems. The main meal was so underwhelming. Very salty and the rest bland. My beef wellington pastry was under cooked, dry turkey, salty gravy. The veg had no seasoning at all. My pavlova was rock hard and tasted like powder. It had no soft marshmallowy bits in it at all like a pavlova should. Brownies were dry. It felt like we were in a pub on a normal Tuesday afternoon. Absolutely no Christmas cheer or atmosphere, no Christmas music at all. Would not return, it’s a shame because I had high expectations as people always rate the Bosham Inn highly.

We went there on Boxing Day as it was one of the few shops that were open. The ice cream and waffle were great. We ordered strawberry waffle that should come with a vanilla ice cream, but we wanted an additional pistachio ice cream. Somehow there was a misunderstanding when we ordered the food and the waffle without the vanilla ice cream (only pistachio ice cream). When we asked for clarification, the staff gave us an explanation which we accepted. But then another staff gave us a scoop of vanilla ice cream for free (just for a minor misunderstanding)!

I need to do this quickly before it becomes irrelevant. I've seen other reviews criticising the condition of this restaurant recently. Those reviewers probably weren't aware that the owners (Whitbread) are closing it in two weeks! Consequently, my review isn't so much about the building or the food as it it about the staff. I was there on business which meant dinner on arrival day and breakfast on departure day. Because it's closing soon, choice was limited so that's not really open for discussion. In reality, I had the same dinner meal I'd had at a London branch a couple of days earlier. This was SO much better!! It really was - and I properly enjoyed it. Nothing to fault in any way. What struck me though was the attitude of the staff - all of whom will be out of work in two weeks - they were amazing!! I can't get over the manner, the attitude, the buoyancy and the general ambience around them. Amazing under the circumstances and it wasn't limited to one or a select few - it was something shared across the entire team. Beyond that, the morning crew were very much the same (though different people). I can't comment on the decision to close - that's a commercial decision for the owners - but if you operate a hospitality business anywhere nearby, slip in for a meal and if you agree with what I found, hire some of these people. You're unlikely to regret it! There's little point in saying more because as I've said, in two weeks' time, it's all over but if this goes anyway to helping any of that amazing team of people move on, it will have been worth my writing!!

A lovely warm and welcoming pub/restaurant. We have been coming here, for our annual family's Christmas get together, for the last 4 years. The service has always been great and the food delicious. Lilly W was fantastic today, serving us with a smile, and tending to our needs. Thank you Lilly.

Great location adjacent to the river with an outside terrace. Large, clean establishment with a decent selection of beers and good bathroom facilities. A nice place to relax and have a drink but the prices were eye watering with a pint of Neck Oil £7.30.
