Esquires Coffee in Aylesbury Vale

Absolutely dreadful, went with my son for coffee and cake, have been several times previously with no issues, Today couldn’t have been more different, was told upon entering there would be a 10 minute wait, , They were averaging half capacity, two visable employees. We waited and waited and nothing, I could hear other customers asking where their food was so clearly we were not alone in waiting. Finally I gave up and requested a refund so we could go elsewhere, which we received with no issues, Shame I’m guessing poorly trained staff over whelmed , The work counter behind the till was a tip , food every where. Come on Esquires you can and have done better.

Every time we go here there’s just one tiny thing that seems to go wrong, a small niggle. They’ve run out of something crucial, hardly anything left for vegetarians (more common than you’d expect), wrongly charged…yesterday was no exception. Two sandwiches, a coke and a coffee came to £25. I queried it and the waitress said “oh yes, sorry, sandwiches have gone through as 3 not 2” and tried to refund the excess. Luckily we got a receipt for the refund, as it hadn’t happened. Now we have a 15 mile round trip to sort that out. Not talking about yesterday specifically, I think the big problem is lack of staff training. They’re just not ‘on it’. Yes, I’d like a spoon with my coffee. Yes, I’d like you to remember I asked for plant milk. Just small things, but it doesn’t feel professionally run and there rarely seems to be a manager on duty, or someone to take responsibility. The young staff are usually asking one another how something is done when you order.

Lovely coffee and very friendly staff. Excellent selection of take-out food, including delicious vegan sausage rolls.

Shambles!! Ant infested around the syrup for coffee. Staff is terrible especially the manager!!!!! Can't emphasise that enough.. also they're lying about the cleanliness rating! They claim by the sticker outside that it has a 5/5 rating when reality is its 3/5!!!! (Search it for yourself online) DO NOT EAT HERE.

I went to this cafe for lunch with my husband yesterday and left hungry and upset! My husband ordered an egg mayonnaise sandwich on brown bread (for me) and was asked if he wanted that toasted? He said No very clearly, (as to be honest who would ever toast an egg mayo sandwich 🤔) When the sandwich arrived the bread was toasted and I couldn't eat it as I didn't want the bread toasted!! The bread was warm and the egg was cold...not a nice combination. My husband pointed out the error and was advised somewhat begrudgingly, that they would remake the order ...NO apology was offered. I was left waiting approximately 20 minutes and when the sandwich arrived the bread was either toasted slightly or stale? The staff member slammed the plate down and gave no eye contact or response to my thank you!! A dreadful lunch experience and an uneaten horrible sandwich!! There is no excuse for treating customers with such rudeness!! Such a shame as the cafe itself was really lovely and dog friendly which is always a bonus, but the staff really let themselves and the cafe down....

Lovely, cosy atmosphere for a coffee while doing a bit of work on the laptop. Great service - the coffee even arrived with a bat-print in cocoa on the top! Love it!

Customer service from the two girls were amazing lovely and chatty was 10/10 ordered a large tea and it came almost instantly big sizing for such a great price best coffee shop experience would recommend milkshakes are the best order them! Left a lovely tip for them!

We chose to try this place when passing through Buckingham instead of using one of the chains. I'm very glad we did. Exceptionally smooth capacino.

We sat outside in the (what could be) a nice outside space. They might take more care generally over appearance and clearing tables. If a waiter arrives with a full tray and there are empties on tables, why make several trips with full tray in and leave empties "blocking" (especially) outside tables. Whilst I don't have Any garden pictures this is the garden. Sadly black coffee very thin / flat "no crema'.

We had delicious breakfast at esquire coffee. Great food and friendly staff. Beautiful cafe inside. Will visit again soon.

such a lovely little cafe , local , food , coffee is always pleasant, portion size is also very good . the staff are lovely and helpful, new staff members was very helpful for us when we went but unfortunately didn’t catch her same . will definitely be returning

My toast wasn’t cooked properly and the avocado was poorly seasoned. £8 something spent for a poor meal. Wouldn’t recommend and won’t be returning.

Great value for money.... Good size portions for the 2 meals for £10.99 (Monday to Friday 12pm to 6pm) Plus £2.49 for desert!.. I couldn't finish. Initially service was slow....but it picked up when served by a lovely young chap.😁😁

Ordered beef burger and chips. Most expensive burger I have come across at £8.95. Meat was over-cooked and dry. Bun was stale. Chips were cold and over-cooked. Burger relish comprised a slice of tomato. Salad comprised lettuce leaves and cherry tomatoes. Whole meal looked as though it had been prepared much earlier and re-heated.

The coffee is good and I like the look of this place. Sadly though, something is going wrong because it’s filthy. The toilet was foul and I’m sitting at 10am on a Saturday morning having to wipe the seat and table of crumbs- I can see the others are the same. The staff are pleasant and attentive. It has the makings of a really lovely place to relax and work but I’m left feeling a bit sticky and disappointed.

This coffee shop is my favourite place to hang and do my works. I really like this place because it has a good ambiance and not too crowded as well. The coffee and pastries that they had were so delicious.

Located in the centre of Buckingham, Esquires is a great choice. Breakfast is good, especially the avocado toast. Coffee is excellent. And the staff are very dog-friendly!

I love this café and visit it often. The staff are so friendly and the food and drinks are delicious! The atmosphere is comfortable and casual and I enjoy relaxing here. Would highly recommend.

I was lucky enough to visit here this morning. I had a decaf latte and it was lovely, no bitter aftertaste and hot like it should be. I went in for one and had two! Lovely friendly staff. Nice setting, good music, not too loud....

Having checked out the menu online, we went today morning for a breakfast. The menu inside was nothing like what we had seen on the site and whilst ordering, I asked for vegan options. Was told they can do “eggs” on toast. Hmmm ... vegan?...

Great, interestingly different coffees - I had the turmeric coffee which was lovely - and 'handmade' tea - they make the teabags and when I mentioned that decaf tea is usually so weak, they were able to add more to the teabag - GREAT!

My favourite coffee shop in Buckingham! A great range of both food and drinks, with vegan options available! Friendly staff, in particular I was served by Nadia the other day when I went in for lunch, she was an absolute pleasure, very friendly and welcoming! Overall a great service!

Popped in for lunch- staff were lovely but clueless, the food was very bland and felt like it had been sitting there for a few days. The cafe itself was very cold, we had to keep our coats on. Wouldn't go again.

This place looks the part and it could be brilliant but it isn't so here are some suggestions to improve things:1) When a waiter takes an order, note down the table number so they're not running around trying to find out who actually ordered that tuna baguette. Are they inside, outside or have they got tired waiting and already left? 2) When the menu says sandwiches with salad and crisps that means crisps ARE included.3) Prep lettuce and tomatoes fresh just before plating them up, whereas the stuff on the side of our plates was brown around the edges and dried out as if it had been chopped hours before.4) Finally, one member of staff should be reponsible for checking the toilet facilities regularly. When we were there you ran out of liquid soap, no one seemed to know where the spare supply was or how to how to fill up the dispenser so we left unable to wash our hands. And guess what, not one single person said sorry.Come on guys, get it together and at least invest some time in very basic staff training.

Beautiful coffee shop! This is our second time here and not our last. Staff is wonderful plenty of great seating. Food was delicious!

It's surprisingly large inside and also offers an out door atrium if the weather is nice. There is an extensive variety of coffee, tea and other beverages - as you would expect, but also snacks, treats and prepared hot and cold meals. Cash or contactless payment is accepted. Eat in or take away, and they will bring your order to where you are seated as required.

Absolutely loving environment & wonderful food. Perfect for a morning date or just a quick bite. I had the avocado toast with a side of spinach and it was light and filling.

A really shame as I brought a friend here after saying how great it had been (over 2 years ago). Despite it being lunchtime, there were hardly any lunch options available and the staff didn't seem bothered (except for the person that must have recently started who did seem to care). No butter on a sandwich, very strange, literally ham on bread. Yokes in the Eggs Benedict were solid and not at all soft/runny. The rest of the staff seemed very disgruntled and behaved as though they couldn't care less. I hate to give bad reviews but I was so surprised as over 2 years ago I'd had great service, great coffee. Won't be returning I'm afraid.

A superb, trusty cafe with helpful servers and a good selection of toasties; sandwiches; cakes etc. Always a favourite of my friend and myself. We really enjoy the avocado on toast, even sometimes with and egg!

The varied reviews suggest this cafe is unreliable, which seems to be a fair evaluation. It would be helpful if they made it clearer that it is not table service; the server I asked did not understand when I asked. Anyway, we got there eventually. My companions had perfectly decent eggs Benedict and good coffee. I had a jacket with tuna filling and salad garnish. The potato wasn't hot enough to melt the pat of butter and the salad was distinctly tired - limp, browning lettuce and sour, squishy tomatoes. To be fair, I didn't ask to have the potato heated properly but I didn't want to delay as we had an appointment. On the strength of my companions' experience I might go back but there are plenty of other places in Buckingham.

Nice café, good food, staff generally pleasant. However was served by a dark haired female employee, which was an unpleasant interaction. She struggled to understand my question (about how something was served, eg in a baguette, roll, etc) and she became rude. Put me off coming again - and the friend I was with who visits regularly told me she is 'always like that'.

Been going to Esquires for a couple of years on and off , always a relaxed environment friendly smiling staff was a hallmark of every visit , so not sure what’s changed but on last 2 visits staff seem cold , distant not engaging a bit of order “calling” going on which I haven’t noticed before - not a big fan of shouting peoples names always think there’s a better way and maybe a bit of effort in terms of customer service

Beautiful little café I often go with friends for a little catch up or sometimes alone with my laptop and work. Lovely seating areas and always a fast service. The big bay window with the seating at the front of the shop is my favourite area with a street view and big comfty cushions.

Coffee is great , perhaps the best in the town. Had a bacon roll but sadly the bacon was microwaved- bread roll was nice though. Service was prompt. Cafe was busy. They need a better ordering system though. So hard for staff to work out where the orders were going and were getting increasingly louder and more frustrated and irritated looking for homes for the coffees.

Popped in after quick early morning swim , staff were friendly and efficient can’t be easy to smile so early in the day

Arrived for Business Breakfast at 9.am. Place busy and staff looked rushed. Found a seat and asked the waitress for a menu only to be briskly informed that everything was ordered from the counter. Went and ordered 2 coffees to start and was informed 20 min wait for coffees and 40 mins wait for food! Left and went across the road to tea shop who greeted us when we walked in and made us feel very welcome. Breakfast was fantastic as was the service with a smile. Need I say more.

Lovely relaxing atmosphere great coffee and a snack. Definitely recommend. Staff very friendly. Good value too

We visited here for the first time with friends and really enjoyed it. The setting is cosy, with lots of different benches/chairs/armchairs, and the service is very quick.

This place has it right from when you first walk in. Friendly staff and a warm welcome. The coffee is nice and well presented good chooses to eat, we like the comfort and ambiance. It’s a great idea to get points on a key fob . The cost has been kept reasonable. The staff seem to care about their customers so as long as this continues it will stay a place worth a visit. Well done to all the staff keep up the good work we as customers appreciate it.

Nice service and lovely drinks. A good size pot of tea with leave as opposed to a tea bag. There was a very cosy rustic feel with slightly mis match chairs, but that added to the lovely rustic vibe.

Went for morning coffee with friends. Great coffee, nice ambiance and decor and lovely service. Music slightly too loud and only one toilet with dodgy toilet seat. Easily sorted.

A real gem of a place! Smashed avocado and poached egg on toast...couldn’t get any better! Hubby choose a breakfast roll, stuff to the brim with bacon, sausage and egg! Great tea and coffee! We will be regulars!

Popped in for a coffee and some breakfast. Very nice place with a relaxing atmosphere. Staff are friendly. The music is really chilled. The coffee is really good, easily as good if not better than Starbucks or Costa. Not expensive either. Overall a very nice place to have a coffee.

Definitely the best coffee shop in Buckingham! I tend to visit quite often... sometimes a couple of times a week and it's always great. The staff are very friendly and helpful too. My only issue is that it's not the most pushchair friendly place, but I love it so much that I go there all of the time anyway!

I've been with my mum, with my husband and kids and now popped in alone! Love the coffee, the selection of foods and drinks are brilliant! Just moved into the town and finding this little gem has made it even better! Delicious flat white and americano is pretty good, will be back for brunch at weekend

Lovely atmosphere ..... friendly greeting when I entered. Busy, but not jam packed ... tables are well laid out so that you are not on top of anyone else. Soft background music.

Visited this fantastic little coffee shop this morning with my mum. Very friendly and helpful staff. We both had a regular latte it was a good size and very hot and excellent value for money. Relaxed friendly clean atmosphere . Will definitely be retuning again

My Friend and I came here for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. We ordered two jacket potatoes 1 with bbq pulled pork and the other with baked beans. Both were delicious. Staff were friendly and helpful and everything was very reasonably priced. Perfect for lunch.

Well, not one for writing bad reviews, I would say that Esquires Coffee in Buckingham need a little training with their staff.

Popped in here for a coffee and cake Good service and coffee adequate. Small yard outside which is nice in useful in decent weather. About time Buckingham had another coffee shop but not sure if I would make this my regular

When we come down south, we have a lot of people come and meet us in random places for even short periods of time. This is by far the best random find we have had!

This has become a rather popular place to meet with friends for coffee. It is a bit on the expensive side and the coffee is ok but what it does have is a great space to sit and chat, or read, or work. Love the shelf with kids toys and things, brilliant idea. It also is open at times when you struggle to find much else open in Buckingham. Much needed addition to the town.

I can't comment on the food but the drinks are really great. The service is good, the staff are friendly. Lots of people seem to come here for meetings and to work in the less sociable hours which is great because it keeps it open for longer into the afternoon! Keep up the good work.

As we moved to this area from a busy city like to find our little spot to enjoy time together with family.

When I arrive at a new place my first priority is to find somewhere for a good cup of coffee. In Buckingham it was Esquires.

This was our 2nd visit today for a light lunch and it was undermined by the service and the attitude of the manager, Monika. We ordered a jacket potato and a panini and we were expected to eat separately as the food arrived 15 minutes apart. This is not acceptable. When we queried this with the manager, there was no hint of an apology. She suggested that next time at the time of ordering we should specifically ask for the food to arrive together. I'm sorry but this is completely wrong. This surely should not be considered the norm. You do not go out to eat on your own. And we were not the only one's to have cause to complain about this.

We came here a week or two after it opened and they were obviously short staffed as well as fairly inexperienced.
