Stopped by for a quick iced latter on a sunny Spring day and it was a very pleasant visit. I would totally come by again for another visit.

I have just had a coffee here at Eleto Chocolate Cafe. What a depressing experience! The lady behind the counter looked so fed up, didn’t acknowledge me for a few minutes ( there was only two other customers in there ) Will not be going back.

Wonderfully quirky coffee shop. Lovely service with a smile. No rush even though we only had a drink. We felt the hot chocs were very special 2 for 11 quid cocktails wasn't bad either x

A group of friends and I all ordered various sweet treats: different crepes and a milkshake, along with tap waters. The service was good, prices were okay and the food was presented wonderfully with plenty of toppings. Tasted wonderful! Even the tap water came in separate glasses with ice, lemon and straws, compared to most restaurants that bring a jug and some glasses.

Gin &tonic rank tonic from bottle which was flat and had to ask for slice of lemon, the toilets are diabolical, not clean light bulbs out , looked like dog bowls on the floor in toilet area , not very impressed at all would not recommend at all .

We walked in and sat down. Not sure if we were supposed to order at the till or whether they would come over. No acknowledgement. Member of staff took old plates etc away, but didn't wipe the table. In the end we went up to the till and ordered. It seemed plenty of staff not doing much or being personable. Coffee ok. Nice music

We both had the bacon butty; it was very nice and tasty though wasn’t on tiger bread as stated. The big problem was hygiene and really we should have left our food as no guarantee staff who made it use any hygiene protocols. We witnessed a member of staff petting a customer’s dog then go back behind the counter and start touching numerous items and serving customer drinks without washing her hands. The sink was in my line of sight. Our food was served by a different member of staff and I told her what we had witnessed, she went back and spoke to her manager (I presume) who then spoke to the staff member and then came to talk to us. Meanwhile the staff member still continues to touch numerous items and still hasn’t washed her hands!! The manager (I presume) after hearing our concerns just returns to counter and still the other staff member hasn’t washed her hands. Takes a while then the said staff member begins washing dishes despite still not washing her hands. I suppose they will have got clean then; but I question their hygiene practices throughout and will not be returning.

Great interior , really airy feel , lovely staff and super dog friendly. Will definitely visit next time we are down, maybe even try the Hot chocolate next time.

Felt very unwelcome, over priced drinks that were average and cold. After dog attached our dog completly unprovoked, no apology from the owner who was sat on sofa and seemed to work there or know the staff. Poor customer service, won’t be going back and strange atmospheres.

Thought we would give it a try, didn’t fancy anything sweet, so we decided on the ultimate bacon butty. We waited a long time ! I was thinking perhaps it’s going to be worth the wait. When it eventually arrived All I could see was two doorsteps of bread, with hardly any filling ! It had half a slice of bacon and half a slice of ham !! When I looked at the photos on their website afterwards I could not believe the picture they had of the bacon butty it was nothing like what we got !! The coffee was the best. But disappointed so won’t be returning.

It was OK the crepes, coffee and apple juice were all very nice and service was good. What let it down were the toilets. No paper no soap the gunge around the taps was disgusting needs a deep clean and they looked very grubby. I always think the state of the toilets reflects the general cleanliness of a place, this didn't pass that. Shame as it is a lovely quirky place but quirky shouldn't mean dirty!

This is a really beautiful cafe and surprisingly large with a performance space on the first floor (quality music, poetry etc in the evenings). The hot chocolate here is legendary - one of them you can stand a spoon up in the glass! The drinks are all good and well made. The service is pleasant and the crepes and cakes are great. Their selection of unusual chocolates are also hard to resist. Importantly it's a place where you can usually find a table either inside or outside on beautifully restored Rendezvous Street. Lovely!

They clean the table when they bring you your coffee. Ashes and food from the last customer and what about the covid! The coffee is nice...

Attended with two wheelchair users. Easy access. Cosy place great lunch. Staff were attentive and friendly. A nice pit stop. I reccomend you all try this place.

Great atmosphere and decor. Only reservation is I prefer to see a printed bill before payment. Love the venue and good, courteous service.

I will never go back here again, by day its an average at best cafe, by night a ridiculous wannabe rave venue. Completely inconsiderate of the local residents, playing loud music until 2am or later sometimes. God knows how they got their license to do this hopefully it'll be revoked. Until they can show some consideration to their neighbours I will never go back for their mediocre coffee.

This is a very spacious and chic cafe. The quality is high. You can stand the spoon up in their thick hot chocolate. Lovely Belgian chocolates. Great savoury crepes provide a tasty and cheap lunch or evening snack. Excellent Jazz Club upstairs which has some really good events. Lovely staff and management. Things have become friendlier and better run since when it was first open.

A perfect combination of great coffee, wine, and chocolate! I visited twice on a visit to Folkestone, once for lunch and then in the evening to the upstairs HUSH event space for a really wonderful talk, hosted by Trevor Wyatt, of the music legend Dave Robinson. It was well worth the trip, and I would definitely go back.

The signature hot chocolate was just how a hot chocolate should be! It was decadent chocolate just as you get on the continent. No powdered chocolate in sight. Make sure you give it a good stir.

We got caught in the rain on Sunday afternoon in Folkestone and decided to grab a coffee somewhere. There are no shortage of cafes and restaurants around this part of town but Eleto caught our eye and I'm so glad it did. We were given a very warm welcome and the great service continued by the two lovely girls that served us. The coffees/hot chocolates were excellent. The only dilemma was how to decide on which cake - they all looked lovely! The four of us all chose something different and no one was disappointed. A lovely find and we will be back.

Idiosyncratic cafe in the back streets of Folkestone. A large spacious feel and good coffee. Didn't eat here though.

Beautiful mocha coffee, lovely surroundings and very friendly staff. Great for a morning coffee break

Customer service non - existent. The most irritating thing was the periodic clattering and clashing of dishes (when emptying the machine) and not locking the piano allowing access to tiny tuneless hands testing the customers’ endurance. There were no boiled eggs for the ‘salad’ and if offered salad dressing ask for it on the side or search for your salad submerged beneath it! The management should take control and educate the staff. Nice mural and artwork.

Eleto is my favourite place to drink coffee and the occasional beer

I don’t normally leave reviews but I actually feel Eleto is worth mentioning. The staff are welcoming and friendly and know what they are doing. The general vibe in the place says come in, get comfy we’ll look after you. You can Drink nice coffee (or a cocktail) and eat yummy cakes. It’s so chilled and a bit edgy but in a good way. I’ve been turned onto to new experiences, art, poetry, cultural foreign language exchanges and world class music often played by local people. I like drinking coffee and waiting for another poster to go up inviting me to something cool. This place feels a bit special.

Lovely atmosphere, artsy decor and great coffee! The staff are enthusiastic and the service is quick, will definitely be coming back!

Came here not long ago, a woman with short dark hair sat us, no greeting, no smile, no eye contact. Ordered our coffees and sat looking at the two workers chatting behind the bar, coffees came about 10 minutes later. It doesn’t take that long when there is only 4 other customers in the place that already have their coffees. I suggest the owner/manager do some serious customer service lessons.

Visited folkestone a few days a go and visited this beautiful cafe, on entrance I was greeted by very kind staff who seemed eager to welcome us. The service was excellent and the coffee and food was brilliant. Would recommend this cafe if you're visiting folkestone anytime. I will definitely be returning.

Came in fairly recently the staff were really friendly and coffee was incredible and love the vegan brownies 💖

Too many staff appearing to do very little. Only 7 customers but still had to chase them to place an order and even then, our drinks arrived long after we had eaten our cakes. Staff staring at phones, singing into makeshift microphone (mop).... fine to enjoy yourself when working but serve me first. Tea utterly tasteless....avoid.

Love the decor and menu choice in Eleto, but went in at 5.30pm and was told the coffee machine had been turned off because they were closing. On their Facebook page it says they are open until 7.30. Any time I have been in there of an early evening the kitchen is closed and/ or they are shutting early. Sort it out.

Had lunch here with a friend. The decor is very nice and it's great to look at the interesting pieces of fixtures and fittings in the cafe. The cafe was particularly cold but that could be do to the flooring and bare walls. The menu doesn't have much choice but we had a flat bread sandwich and a toastie. The price of the food is in my opinion on the pricey side for what it is. Staff were polite but not overly welcoming. Cake was nice but again expensive for what it is and the area it is in.

Went for a coffee this afternoon Might have been tempted by cake but the choice was a limited and not very appealing Maybe room for improvement Staff were pleasant and friendly , service was prompt too

Had a lovely lunch the soup was very tasty ! Dog friendly gave us bowls for the dogs biscuits and water !! It’s such a shame we had to wait so long for the food and drinks ! They need more staff and the ones they did have seem very slow and no urgency to deliver to the customers . This place could be excellent just needs some fine tuning .

It has a nice interior, but service is extremely poor and has got worse of late. You could wait hours without being served. I looked in one late afternoon this week and the place was nearly empty, so they couldn't claim that they were busy, but there were literally dozens of empty tables which had not been cleared of dirty cups and plates.

The sticky floor should have been a warning but it didn't seem busy so we ordered coffees and two pieces of cake. After more than 30 minutes the coffee arrived but the guy serving went back to making drinks, no sign of the cake. When I went and asked if we could have it he pointed to a pile of tickets and said he had to do them in order - maybe he wote a separate ticket for the cake - who knows? I paid for the coffee and that was that. It's a shambles. Three staff but only one seems to be doing anything and because he's trying to do everything he's achieving nothing. Others around us were equally displeased and it's sad that nobody cares enough about this place to get it sorted out.

Ordered tea, hot chocolate and cake. Left after 30min without eating or drinking anything. Very slow service.

The last 3 visits on a Saturday daytime have been terrible. If the owners are reading this they should visit Steep Street and see how a good cafe is run. The young employees seem clueless as to how to run a cafe, take notice of who is coming in, clear tables and serve coffee and cake efficiently. You can wait 20 to 30 minutes waiting for a coffee. Many people came in and left again as no-one had noticed them on all three occasions. Given them 3 chances but won't return again.

Went here for lunch today, was shocked at the decline. Was very impressed when ot first opened, however todays experience was very different. Had to collect own menu's as ignored for 15mins on arrival. Then waited further 20mins to place order. Soup was like liquidised vegetables. My Mother ordered carrot loaf should of been 'served warm with orange syrup' however arrived cold and no syrup. When asking about syrup was told they had run out!!! No apology. Asked for different dush, waitress sighed and walked off. Bringung back dryed out carrot cake, wont b returning!!!

Shocking service. We had to fetch our menus from the till as we're completely ignored. Decided what we wanted and still nobody came over. Sought the attention of a waiter who told us that there was a 15 minute wait for food and drink which was fine. We ordered two hot drinks and two slices of cake. Simple yes? Apparently not, 40 minutes later we were still waiting. Never returning. Whilst staff were apologetic as we explained we were not prepared to wait any longer they proceeded to tell us orders were dealt with in order which they were not as we saw other tables being served before us. Will not go back and will not recommend to friends.

If this review was based solely on the decor, comfort. location and ambience alone my rating would be considerably higher however these plus points cannot make up for the appalling service and sub standard refreshments served at this establishment ,this is the third time we have stopped here for coffee and lite bites etc and we will defiantly not be returning for a fourth, tables not cleared, slow service once orders taken, we have only ever stopped here at the weekends so cannot comment on mid week evenings etc, overheard conversation from a couple on next table to us who also were discussing leaving as the service and quality is just not there, such a shame as this building, decor, deserves so much better, maybe employ some older staff with relevant experience

We have been here several times and had a good experience but today the service was exceptionaly slow. The cafe was not busy but we waited 30 minutes for a flatbread and waffle, our coffees arrived after 15 minutes so we had finished these before our food arrived. Staff seemed generally confused as two drinks orders which were not ours were brought over to our table...all we wanted was our lunch !

We previously visited a few times when the cafe first opened and were very impressed, however today's visit was a huge disappointment. There were 3 of us and all were unhappy with our drinks. My daughter had a pot of English breakfast tea which looked very weak and apparently tasted weak, my husband chose a latte, he is aware this isn't a strong coffee but this was very weak and hardly had any colour, the coffee was tepid. Finally I ordered an extra hot cappuccino which was tepid and tasteless. You may ask why we didn't say anything at the time but I would have felt awkward complaining about everything we ordered. I guess we will not return which is a shame after our previous good visits.

As always fantastic coffee lovely venue all great but it's more like a disco on Saturday morning music so loud you cannot relax music should background music not so loud you can not chill out x

Went here for afternoon tea. Very interesting decor and also a bit pretentious to my mind. The tea when it arrived was not hot and it was all rather spoiled when the waitress caught the tray on the table and my whole latte ended up in my lap, down my legs on my shoes and the floor and window.I was given paper roll to clean up and the waitress apologised. I told her I was ok and did not get cross. The scones arrived and were nice, warm and tasty. I did expect that someone would come over and either offer cleaning costs or to cancel the bill but they didn't. Eventually I went to the counter and said to the young chap " I am assuming that I will not be charged after this accident" ( my trousers were soaked) He said, " what the whole bill? You did have scones". Well, I didnt pay and we left.

Rendezvous Street has a few places to eat and drink and it’s looking a bit better than it did some years ago. So, a bit of competition around - especially as there are places in Old High Street, the precinct above and even rundown Guildhall Street.

We visited on a Saturday lunch for a light bite. The general look and feel of the place is really nice, very nicely decorated and a good atmosphere. We received our menu, which was disgusting, the whole thing fell apart and was covered in chocolate and crumbs. The lady came over and took our order, we ordered 2 items to eat, none were available, we ordered another 2, they were not available either. The lady highly recommended the Mozarella flat bread, which I think were her way of saying that was the only main lunch they had in stock. I ordered that and despite not being what I wanted, it is prepared promptly and it was delicious. The drinks were also really nice and I couldn't fault the service. I have given this 3 stars, but to be honest there are aspects which are a 5 star service and others which are 1 star.

Friendly woman greeted us straight away offering menus, only wanted a coffee and ice cream, granddaughter had milkshake, all freshly prepared, good presentation, arrived in a couple of minutes, lots of room. We will be back.

I recently visited Eleto for the first time, the establishment looked very cool and clean and strangely, a central perk from friends vibe which ticked all my boxes. We ordered our food at the bar as no one bothered to come up to us and take our order which we didn’t actually mind. That was fine. Didn’t really get service with a smile but I don’t particularly like working weekends either. Our breakfast arrived. 2/3 orders anyway. So we thought we’d wait a couple mins for the 3rd plate to arrive as we didn’t want to start eating while our young child was waiting. 5 minutes pass... still no food. 10 minutes pass and he was starting to get a bit fussy. We didn’t want to disturb other customers so we went to the bar and asked politely if they had an ETA on when it would be served. Ignored. Finally 20-25 minutes later her breakfast arrived (may I add it was just a small item at the bar that they only had to put on a small plate and carry it over. I was happy to carry it over from the bar myself if it meant saving time). So we started eating and everything was great. Food absolutely delicious and couldn’t fault at all. Drinks were splendid too and very well made. But Incomes the most loudest stomping, complimented by bad musical instruments and absurd screams from what one could only assume was a human sacrifice ritual going on upstairs before 11 in the morning. It went on for about an hour. I will be visiting again as the great food outweighed the bad goings-on. X

Came in today while in town and sat for over 10 minutes waiting for any of the three staff to even provide a menu. There were only 5 other tables occupied. We left after wasting so much time. Shame really as on previous visits the food has been nice but service was just awful today.

Having opened recently this Chocolate Cafe does the most amazing Strawberries dipped in chocolate and edible gold glitter. Highly recommend you try them.

I was going for a lovely walk in Folkstone and stubbled upon this quaint cafe.

Have been coming to Eleto Cafe for a few weeks now and I find it one of the best coffee shops in Folkestone! Coffee is amazing and there is a lot of delicious things on the menu! Staff is really friendly and the atmosphere is lovely, I definitely recommend the place !!!

Came here a few days ago, very impressed. Staff were friendly and helpful and the food was the best part.

I love going in here. Whenever I do the staff are always very lovely and sweet. They always remember my order as well! The music is always excellent! I love this place! Wish I could live here!

Grt place to come and chill, doesnt hurt that hot chocolate is pretty amazing. Here new salads are grt aswell, had a three bean salad that i hope theyll do again soon

This is a great cafe. Especially in the summer. I love sitting outside doing work on the laptop. Sometimes I have breakfast and lunch. The staff are always friendly. Food and drink is good. Especially the pimms 😁

I came here with a group of my friends for lunch, they had a great menu which included both sweet and savoury items. A beautiful cafe with a very relaxed atmosphere!

Lovely young staff, good coffee and cakes to pig out on. I’m always made to feel welcome whenever I go there, 2 or 3 times a week. Those that have moaned in their reviews must lead miserable lives, I think.

Delicious food, kind staff. they gave my little daughter some free chocolates and had KIDS MENU. Recommended dish is the chocolate muffin. It is light and milky unlike the sin cake and the big chocolate cake which are very rich. The best hot chocolate drink ever tasted!

We had a lovely stop-over in this cafe, with cake and coffee. Neighbour's crepes looked great too, I wish we had tried them. Service was friendly and prompt.

We had a coffee and a slice of cake here. Service was slow , our first choice of table was dirty so we moved. Cake was nice coffee ok.

I think the fact we make a 75 mile round trip for a slice of cake and glass of wine speaks for itself. I know if I lived in Folkestone I would be in here everyday, amazing food and friendly service.

I've been to this cafe twice the last month, and I can't get over how nice the place is! Spacious inside (which is great when you have to bring a big pram like I do), friendly staff, delicious menu choices and really good prices... And I am so impressed at how quickly you get served considering the small kitchen and the fact that the cafe is usually quite busy. Definitely among the best in Folkestone and well worth a visit!

It was an excellent service and food that I was served today. Would definitely take my baby there to munch on a strawberry whilst I enjoyed my chocolate milkshake, perfect time of year for it☀️🥤

came with my partner first time, service was good, staff are a friendly bunch who you seem to be able to talk normally with. coffee was amazing, think its the best around. we both had a slice of their surprise cake, green t cake, sounds funky but was delicious. great place to relax and chill out, music is always good there.

We’ve visited this cafe several times and although the service has always been fairly slow it’s not usually a problem. Visited with my son - lots of tables with dirty crockery that hadn’t been cleared. Our table had not been wiped (and none of those cleared were wiped either ). Waited for ages for a staff member to come over to be told we would have to wait as they only had a couple of menus in the whole place.

Came here with a group of friends. The food was amazing, savoury crepes are so good. Beautiful decor and very large space good for families.

My friend, her baby son and I had coffee and pastries last week. The cafe is large and very easy to park a pram and be out of everyone's way, which is great. We were greeted immediately and brought menus, though it then took quite awhile for anyone to take our order.

I love bringing my pup to this place. Their coffee is the bomb, the food is amazing and it’s always complimented with great music & a chilled atmosphere... Oh and doggie treats!

Perfect place for my morning coffee. Espresso one of the best in Folkestone and just 99p till 10.00am. And most important they have Jazz evenings. Love this place.

The staff are so nice and helpful, the coffee is amazing and the food is just beautiful. Its a great place for meetings, to hang out and to be alone. With a great atmosphere and good music, I wish I could be here everyday.

I recently visited with my grandparents and had a latte and a catch-up, the atmosphere was great and the interior design made me feel right at home, not to mention the coffee was delicious!

Folkestone is an up and coming town and I believe this coffee shop is a great addition. The art and atmosphere here is great. I can sit for hours, the staff now know my order and they are very friendly.

Food was not great at all nearly chocked on the bannana bread it was so dry.. even the coffee was disappointing.. however was a nice atmosphere and they have a large drinks menu.. would probably be better for an evening drink and a dessert than lunch.

Visited with my DOG, makes a change to be allowed to sit indoors with my love :) This newly opened cafe is one to watch. The place looks magnificent and doubles with beautifully presented food which tastes great too. Excellent service , excellent coffee.

Having been to the Canterbury branch and loving it, we were delighted to see Folkestone has one too.

Wir hatten sehr guten Kaffee, eine große Schale! Die Karottentorte und die Topfentorte können wir sehr empfehlen. Wunderschön ist nicht nur das Lokal dekoriert sondern auch die Torten wurden am Teller auch wunderschön serviert. Personal war sehr nett. Uns hat es sehr gut gefallen. Jederzeit wieder.

OK so I am a Folkestonian now and I love my tea and coffee stops. I have tried this place three times now. I made the first mistake of asking for English Breakfast tea, which was then served to me with an egg timer (Like I don't know how to brew a tea bag!!) in a glass mug, and a pretty silk like tea bag..... it was, to coin a phrase, like gnats p...... I paid and informed the young assistant that it was probably one of the worst cups of tea that I had ever had. I tried it again last week as I was meeting someone there and this time I asked for 'Yorkshire' tea, I specifically asked for a tea cup and saucer, I was told that all teas come in glass mugs!!!! but I got a cup and saucer, along with a white teapot with huge oversized tea bag hanging over the edge of the pot....... and of course the egg timer to tell me when the tea would be ready.. My other personal pet hate is being in a tea/coffee shop that allows buggies, scooters, and a multitude of kids in that, due to their parents complete lack of control make the place unbearable, it's time some of these cafes started introducing some rules and talking to parents to get them to quieten their offspring and respect the other customers. I think this place is pretty to look at but has no heart sorry and the chocolates are expensive !!!!!!!

Really nice drinks and cake. But, the drinks came and by the time the cake arrived the drinks were almost gone. So a bit of a timing issue with the kitchen. The house hot chocolate was very messy.

I knew when I saw that Chocolate Cafe (also in Canterbury) had opened in this lovely building in Folkestone, that the fortunes of this delightful town had made a major step forward. Chocolate Cafe will bring people in from the West End of Folkestone as well as Sandgate and Hythe who until now have said that the town offers them little in the way of a cafe / wine bar to spend time in and meet friends. Coffee is excellent. Chocolate in various edible and drinkable forms is outstanding. The sweet and savoury crepes are my particular favourites and are reasonably priced. The size and decor of this place is what attracts people and it seems to be getting busier every time I go there. Great to see that it opens in the evening as well as for breakfast and in the day. All helping to bring people to this lovely part of the town, to the great benefit of other businesses in the area.

Treat time again, this time my son as well, not allowed favouritism! Our order of special crepes and Belgian waffle, even though the crepe was lovely again the extra strawberries were welcome but the extra white chocolate was a little too much, my son liked the waffle but would have like more ! but did say the chocolate was lovely, quality rather than quantity overall. My daughter tried the chocolate milkshake this time but said the strawberry was better.

Just wanted a coffee to read my paper with, went to the counter and was told to take a seat and someone would take my order. Sat for five minutes and no-one came (place was almost empty) so I left and went to Costa. With a café next door and two across the way they're going to have to up their game to stay in business.

Nice cafe with friendly staff. Nice selection of drinks and cakes. However the location was slightly ruined by the toothless lady in a football shirt standing outside the Hillside cafe as you could see her in the side window. However it's not the cafe fault. That said I would still come back to try the hot chocolate when it's colder.
