Rated highly because the service went above and beyond. The lady in charge of breakfast service could not do more for us. Really great to see thank you

Food to be fair is always good but the service and replenishment of food was absolutely awful, staff seemed to give the impression we were lucky to have any service as they were busy, most people were having to wait for breakfast items to be cooked, fruits of the forest empty, coffee machine needed attention, not great.

Very nice family vibe in the pub. I was staying for one night at the hotel opposite and was very well looked after by Meli.

The curry was like a soup with no taste. The fish was a lot of batter with very little fish. The service was good and the restaurant was clean. Pity about the toilets. But you pay for what you get.

Meli was really pleasant and helpful. Her service was welcoming and she checked with us to make sure that we were happy and had everythig we needed, which we did. She also organised for us to have a take away breakfast the following morning as we would be leaving before service starts. Classic pub food done very well. All round excellent.

Went for dinner having purchased a meal deal with the room booking at the adjacent Premier Inn. Absolutely fantastic value in a very pleasant pub. Great selection of food and drinks are part of the meal deal. Would highly recommend. My server Meli was very professional, friendly and efficient. Thanks Meli 🙂

Stopped here overnight to catch le shuttle. Came before 6pm so ordered off the £6.00 a meal menu. What we got was excellent value for money, 2 mains a beer and soft drink for £20.00. Service with Meli was great polite fast and very efficient. Highly recommended.

Handy location but clearly chronically understaffed - leading to empty glasses and semi empty plates littered on tables and the bar. Don’t bother asking for the suggested cask ale as all three were off when we were there. The staff we did see were friendly and helpful.

We had booked the Premier INN Meal Deal, which is served in the restaurant. Super nice service and a different atmosphere than in other premier hotels. The food was great (dinner and breakfast) and something different, like in the original Premier Inn's. The pub atmosphere was nice too. We felt very comfortable there.

We waited over an hour for our food, when it came out it was cold and well over cooked. Advised staff they didnt know what they were doing! The food cost well over £100 and not eaten or even given a refund. POOR SHOW!

Lovely meal, great menu choice, my steak was cooked perfectly, compliments to the chef. Relaxing evening out, would recommend for a special occasion or just a meal for two.

Chloe was really friendly and helpful and couldn’t do enough to help. My wife is a celiac so required specific dietary requirements and she was informative.

The room was cold, my grand daughters burger bun was still frozen and my chicken was cold. We waited 15 mins before a menu was brought to us and then another 15 mins before someone came to take my order. When we had finished eating we had to wait again for the table to be cleared and then yet another wait before the dessert menu was presented and we had to ask for it. I have never had such bad service and will not go there again. I spoke to a friend about it and she had the same experience and described it as dreadful !!

We chose brickfield for a family meal on Saturday evening. The restaurant was very busy and we can see why. The service, food and drinks were all excellent the mix grill was cooked to perfection and the haddock was huge! Kids meals are definitely value for money: Our server was very attentive 5 starts from us. We will be back.

Had breakfast this morning, me and my partner took our 3 girls and they got to eat free and we could eat as much as we all wanted, great value for money :)

We arrived for our evening meal and was impressed with the variety of meals, deals etc on offer and st such reasonable prices. The food was very tasty and our waitress Neli was very friendly. We had a good laugh with her. Her customer service skills are to be highly recommended.

The buffet breakfast was up to it's usual standard. Good selection of hot and cold good and friendly service. However, as a regular customer for breakfast (and dinner) I find the notice saying that they are having trouble sourcing Orange Juice ridiculous. Supermarkets are full of the stuff and the weak substitute they provide is frankly disgusting. It's clearly a money saving action. This has been going on for so long it's incredulous.

Service was extremely slow and from ordering our drinks upon arrival took over 20 minutes for them to arrive. Food was also a slow service. We had burger and chips. The chips were lukewarm and the brioche buns were ice cold like they have just been defrosted. We asked for this to be replaced and again we had a long wait.. Finished eating our meal and waited a long time for a plates to be cleared. We were offered the dessert menu and again I was left for over 15 minutes before any orders were taken.. I’m sure you get the gist of this service, it is extremely slow and food quality is poor.. I do not recommend you dining here

Having booked for a Sunday roast it didn't live up to expectations some of the smallest cuts of beef and the meat was dried out roast potatoes soggy but says on menu crispy meat very tuff on the pic it looks delicious but not when it comes carpet in backroom needs a steam clean not what I expected

Came here last week for a family meal, and was impressed with the quality and amount of food given. So we decided to give it another go but try the value range. We were blown away with the quality and amount for such a low price. We, 3 adults all had 2 courses and drinks non alcoholic, 0 Guinness in my case, and the bill was under £50. If you join their email list you can get 25% off, with vouchers for half term giving discounts and free meals for children. We highly recommend this establishment and will be using on a regular basis. Also whilst writing commend our waitress Sharon for her excellent service.

Ordered a mixed grill that was delivered 55min later with NO steak 3oz of gammon (I’m guessing) and about a quarter of chicken breast 2 sausages but when I complained I was confronted with rudeness I will never spend another penny in this place

Came in last night at 6:30 for a last minute dinner decision. The staff were absolutely lovely, but we wish we'd of gone to a McDonald's drive through for food! We ordered a vegan burger and chips and a Thai green curry. They both came out within 2 minutes of us ordering which tells you immediately that it's microwaved gumpf...but the burger was so dry and bland, had no sauce or any flavour to it whatsoever. The Thai curry looked like it'd just been dumped out of a tin onto the plate and wasn't very appetising...food was absolute rubbish overall. Okay to pop in for a drink but I wouldn't eat there again.

Disappointed by this morning. Eggs clearly not cooked properly ... whites were transparent. Coffee machine out of milk. Fruit salad with yogurts just a few slices of apple and a couple of grapes. Really poor value for 11 quid.a pop.

We had the Valentine menu 3 courses fir £19.99 and a nice bottle of wine. Hayley's service was amazing but also credit must go to the chef.

I had booked a table for 8 people by phone as over 6 people..they told me the table a round table by the window and the number and confirmed our booking when we arrived ..dissapointment as table had already people sitting on it...they did find another table but not what I had booked by speaking with the staff on phone..the food was nice and as a family we enjoyed it..but not a good idea for them to ..not pay any attention to my booking...

The service was excellent, Mariia was a star as our order was quite complicated, she remembered everything, was spot on and so friendly. The food was delicious, was a decent size portion and I would recommend visiting to friends and family.

Very loud and crowded. Very very over priced for the Christmas dinner. We would not recommend. Food was very dry bland and lack off condiments to follow. Server was lovely but was so so busy couldn't keep up. Alot of disorganisation

I went here Saturday 21st December to have a Christmas meal with my daughter, who is don't hardly see. When we got there, we were told no Christmas Dinners, no roasts, and they had sold out of the desert that my daughter asked for. We were both looking forward to it, as that was our little Christmas together. We usually come here about 5 times a year, and always tip. We're not so sure anymore. Very disappointed

Christmas meals for 8 21/12/24 no christmas menu. Two had mixed grill, chicken and ham both burnt. One steak. No sauces they ran out. Two children had pizza looked and tasted like the very cheapest money could buy. In fact if you were shopping you wouldn't buy them. Nothing ordered came without fault. This is the second and very last time we will use this venue.

We were very disappointed with our experience here. We booked the table a month ago for a party of six expecting the Christmas menu. Then was handed the standard menu which had nothing on it available as they were out of stock on almost everything. We ended up leaving unhappy and finding somewhere else to eat.

We had booked our table a few days before coming, yet when we arrived we were given a list of meals that were unavailable. This could've been communicated to us before we came so we could have booked somewhere else. The server was not friendly and even after our group had ordered lots of food and drinks we were given a bill without even asking for it which we found incredibly rude.

A Christmas dinner gathering . We were told on arrival no Christmas dinner was available! Also a sheet of meals that also wasn’t available ! When meals were served they were lukewarm. Absolutely shocked . Been many times before but won’t again .

Not as good as it once was. Stopped by for breakfast as I was in the area. Standards have slipped. Luke warm, dry breakfast which looked like it had been under the 30w warming lamp for some while. Would rather pay more for better fresh food than this rubbish. Won`t be wasting time again.....such a shame

Problems with supplier so very very limited choice, we were a group of 7 for our Christmas meal, but no festive menu, no burgers, no pizza, no lasagne, no fish, so more than limited! what we did choose was such small portions, we decided to have dessert only one real choice so no dessert either very disappointed, and no offer of complimentary drink as an apology. We will defiantly not return!

Booked here for our staff Christmas Dinner about a month in advance, we arrive there and they say they have supply issues and the whole festive menu isn't available! (They said they called us but we didn't get any missed calls or voicemails) absolutely terrible! 7th of December and you haven't sorted out your supplier? Poor! Not only that we had to wait 20 mins for our table to even be ready and half of the normal menu wasn't available either! Just a poor service all around. Don't put a whole festive menu if you're unable to provide it it's ridiculous. Toilets also were disgusting and smelt like strong urine

Visited December 2024. No festive menu available and limited menu choices due to supplier issues apparently. Service very good as always but all the good basics unavailable like fish and chips, pizza’s, gammon. Limited sweets also. No flakes to go on ice cream. Spoilt the experience really. Much of it could’ve been purchased in Tesco tbh.

Issues with supplier so limited menu to only about 10 choices. No festive menu available and long waits for food. No email or call to inform prior to the visit so we could have changed plans. Small portions when food came and expensive for what we had. Steak like rubber and not sirloin so was very fatty. Service was nice in the circumstances that they were faced with.

The food was average quality, it was good to see the steak cooked as ordered (medium rare), the steak pie was average but well filled. The deserts - caramel apple pie, sticky toffee pudding and Ice cream sundae, weren't great . There is a shortage of some items off the menu which affected menu choices and some of the dishes missed ingredients. Would say the food and restaurant was as expected for a big chain. ** The main positive point is the service and friendliness of the server, Zoe - she was a credit to the team.

Thought all the staff that were there last Sunday were brilliant, food was good and a good atmosphere 🙂

The atmosphere was very 'kids pub', ok but I'm too old and grumpy for screaming kids whilst I eat. Fortunately, that didn't last long. The kids were still noisy but the Mixed Grill was, to say the least, small. Half a chicken breast was promised, must have been a very poorly chicken. 'How would you like your steak?' was asked. If I had known how small it was going to be I would have answered three times the size. Chips were passable. Grilled tomato wasn't. I mean if was a tomato but it wasn't grilled. Gammon was passable but a little fatty, the best of the protein! Two eggs, sliding in their own ecosystem. But, at least mine was edible. The roast turkey meal was a complete joke. If the chicken was poorly the turkey was definitely on borrowed time. The best word to describe the meal is 'grey'. The crumble monster I married didn't finish her crumble..... I've learnt something today, if a crumble is bad enough it will get left. TOTALLY GOBSMACKED!! It might have been a bad night for food but I won't be rushing back.

Food was poor I had mixed grill - chips were stone cold had them replaced by time I got fresh Chips I'd almost ate the rest of the dinner. Wife had Ale pie which was as soggy as a dish cloth.

Excellent customer service by Zoe. The food was ok, nothing exciting. The starter was excellent. Had to send the Festive Roast back as it arrived lukewarm. However, this was quickly rectified. We had a package with Premier Inn, so it was a good meal deal.

Three in our party today, all choose Sunday Roast, but, No Beef, No Cranberry Sauce. Felt like we were eating in a school canteen, horrible noisy brat kids. Parents didn’t seem to have control of their kids.

Food was ok. Service was friendly but oh so slow, especially to pay. Was tempted to do a runner but not in our honest nature. Christmas decorations up a tad too early but maybe that's just me!

Went for a breakfast today. Poor amount of food. No hash browns or pastries. Wouldn't bother going again.

I have been here for meals quite often. The staff are brilliant abd food always good. I do have one complaint from yesterday 7th November. I guess it was because the new festive menu started. We asked for a Crunchie topped cheesecake from the dessert menu but were given a banoffee cheesecake. The waitress went to get the topping we had asked for but was told by the kitchen staff that the menu had changed. I felt sorry for the waitress as she should have been told about any changes to pass on to customers. Quite an oversight by the company I feel.

Okay place serves a purpose for a cheap nights stay at the Premier Inn

This evening I ordered the burger, chips and coleslaw, The burger arrived with coleslaw but an otherwise empty plate. I waited a few minutes for the chips but nothing, I then waited at the queued at the bar and was eventually seen by a member of staff who seemed surprised by my request for chips. After a further wait the chips arrived but by this time the burger was stone cold, nasty and inedible, I couldn't eat it and when I was asked if everything was alright with my meal I told the manager that I couldn't eat it as it was nasty. After about 20 minutes another burger and chips arrived but by this time I had been put off eating. Not impressed, not just by the service (someone should have noticed a burger and chips sons chips) but also by the don't care much attitude of the staff. I stay in a lot of premier inns but might consider my options next time.

Last minute reservation. Staff were lovely. Very helpful. I've got allergies and was easily able to identify what I could have. Food arrived promptly,hot and fresh. Really enjoyed our meal.

This 5 star review is to recognise the outstanding service of Louise and Mel, who went above and beyond with catering for my son’s milk and nut allergies. All his items were prepared and plated directly in the kitchen rather than from the buffet and when I queried something a member of Staff specifically went to wash her hands before taking the plate and returning it. Sadly service like this relating to allergies is few and far between but these ladies went out of their way to help and compliments to the chef who prepared everything freshly to ensure it was safe. I wish we lived closer just so that our son could go out for breakfast and it such a big safe plate full more often! Thank you!

We just popped in for a breakfast buffet on a Sunday. The food was lovely. We've been few times now, never disappointed.

Popped in here today on the way back from Dover wish we hadn't bothered to start the man serving really does NOT listen. the picture attached is meant to be effectively cheese n bacon potato skins. They were sent back an refunded as I said I was not paying for what looks like chips someone has cut in half and thrown some cheese n bacon bits on top. The food turned up where is our side of onion rings oh not coming because again the server was NOT listening.The mixed grill upgraded to the sirloin as can't stand rump. Well the sirloin was so tough it was unedible I could of even said it was rump an not sirloin an just tasted metallic. Mrs Pizza was ok and my sons spag boll which this time compared to the bull in folkestone is actually proper spaghetti not shelled pasta. Staff haven't got a clue especially the manager when my mrs asked the manager to check with the kitchen that it was sirloin they cooked she responded with we don't do sirloin on the mix grill..... my Mrs says you do because i paid the extra to upgrade it the blank look said it all. oh dear a manger that does not even know her menu. Would not recommend this place at all as previous comments say staff useless and don't listen food mediocre at best.

Food has gotten a lot better over the years but unfortunately the service hasn't.

The food was OK, the service was slow but the young lad serving was new so I can except that. The cutlery however was a little dirty, with grease, finger prints and remains of food still attached.

Didn't know what to have so I asked one of the colleagues her name was reah she was very polite and happy and the food recommendation was amazing so thank you very much reah for your help

Called in after a long day on the Hyde to Dungeness railway Went in early as specials 2 mains for £11.99 What a bargain the food was superb with brilliant attentive waitress( Meli T) Would certainly recommend.

Absolutely fantastic . After a 6 hr drive a pint and some great food hit the spot. Staying at the premier in next door. Melissa T was my server...she did a great job, kept checking in and making sure everything was great. All the staff were very helpful and the food was awesome. Overall a great experience. Thanks

Frankly the photos don't do the place justice. It's lovely, the waitresses are charming, the food is fast, crispy and copious. We had the meal deal with two mains for under 12 pounds so we weren't expecting haute cuisine, but it was exactly what we needed : a full belly on the way to France.

It was so organised and the staff were lovely. And our food was served very quickly.

After a tiring day walking the Downs, it was good to eat a hot meal in the evening without having to head into town. Sharon provided prompt and polite service which was a bonus
