Waiting 15 minutes to be seated, very expensive for what it is and to top it off ordered chips x4 and all came with salt without request and a dirty folk to eat my chips with! When confronted no opology just sorry mate. Not your mate I'm a customer refer me to sir... Won't visit again!

We visit here quite regularly and have always enjoyed ourselves. Went there around 2pm member of staff greeted us and said Can’t believe it is so busy !!!! Considering this is one of the busiest times of the year we waited and waited and in the end left as in 15minutes we felt invisible Where was your staff today .‘

Don’t bother! With so many great places to eat and drink in Folkestone this has got to be the worst. Food was of a poor standard, dry over cooked burger and cold nachos. Waiting time on drinks was over 30minutes at times. Staff were all friendly however no management was clearly evident.

I’ve been eating at Skuba for many years but never have I ever been so disgusted and disappointed with the way my family were treated today when we were turned away at the entrance because of a new dress code that has been enforced. We were hoping to get a spot of lunch after taking our two children to play at the coastal park on a relaxing Sunday. We felt humiliated and discriminated against for simply not meeting their expectations of attire. I wasn’t aware that on a Sunday afternoon we are expected to dress formal to a bar/eatery! I will never return my custom and neither will my family, I’ll ensure my friends learn about skubas new discriminative, archaic, social profile policy!

Here are some of the highlights:-Over 40 mins wait for chips and nachos-Over 20 mins wait for a pint-No warning of the wait-Staff wearing masks under their chins-Had to ask two times for cutlery to finally be brought a single fork-Very difficult to get the attention of waiting staff, not just for us but for all the tables around us (lots of shouts of “excuse me” “hello” where ignored and repeated over)-When they got the table next to ours order wrong, they said they would correct it and then made them pay again for the correct order (this was very awkward for the customers around)-Welcomed by a large sign that says no tracksuits or track shorts (not sure what there issue is with health or fitness?!)-Waiting staff wandered round for a quite while with every order to try to find the table and sometimes gave up and went back in with the order-Although the service was poor and the waiting staff appeared ill-equipped, they were friendly Of course I’m understanding of how busy it was, but the service was far from acceptable. Hearing people complaining on tables around us, so knowing it wasn’t just our experience, I decided I would quietly and privately provide some polite feedback.When we sensitively shared our experience with the co-owner she was exceptionally rude and among other comments (including blaming us!), told us we were banned (of course after we had paid our bill). It’s hard to put into words how rude she was. Her attitude and response was shocking. A simple apology or acknowledgment of the service would have been nice (and resulted in a very different review). Very disappointing. In these difficult times we are aware of the challenges that people may be facing and a smile and, to be honest, decent common courtesy can go a long way. After having enjoyed this bar in 2020 (and bringing family here and recommending it to others) we were excited to visit again after lockdown.

NED was AMAZING ALL NIGHT!! Knew what i wanted and was able to supply the drinks i wanted all night. amazing guy!

Visited on April 27 when some restrictions in force, but nonetheless still excellent service from friendly staff. Pleasant location and good choice of beers and music - well-recommended!

Had a meal with drinks, chicken burger was nice a cooked correctly. The cheese board was good on quantity but not as tasty as expected.Beer range a bit limited but did have a Curious Brew IPA so I was happy.Nothing wrong with the place but nothing made it stand out.They did seem to have a little bit of an issue with trying to keep some of their younger customers Covid compliant, but they did at least try and didn't just ignore the fact.

An excellent place for cocktails, pretty good food with lovely Hosts and Hostesses. If you get a chance ask to go to the downstairs Bar any eating area, the only probelm it is very popular so can get booked up quickly.

A very warm welcome on arrival and good service throughout. Nice choice of menu for everyone. Several Vegan choices too. During the pandemic food service can be slow due to limitation of no. of staff in the kitchen but when on holiday who needs to rush. The cook times are cleverly put on the menu and the staff will advise how long to add for the wait time. It really didn't bother us as we could chat, drink and relax. Finish off your meal with delicious coffee and ice-creams. Ignore previous negative comments and give this place a try.

A friendly bar with a great range of cocktails and lovely food. Staff are very welcoming and make you feel valued.

Had been before and food was good. Thursday went back for my sisters birthday lunch. Staff friendly but service slow - we had to wait 45 minutes for fish platter. All food, warmish, overcooked, old. The chicken wings were particularly disgusting - didn't appear cooked, only reheated and covered in a sauce so chilly hot it burnt the mouth and left a disgusting favour for hours - one bite was enough. 7We also paid up front and there was no-one around when we had to leave so did not complain at the time. Very disappointed

Was looking forward to eating here and liked the feel of the place when sat at the table.My impressions soon changed.Was asked to pay upfront, which I thought was a bit odd.Placed order and as menu mentioned meal would take 20 minutes to cook we ordered nachos to pick on while waiting.30 minutes later I was trying to get waitress attention to find out what was happening with nachos but she kept avoiding looking our way or updating us. After 40 minutes the nachos were brought to the table with my king prawn tagliatelle.I was not impressed as I really wasn't one to eat nachos along with my main course.Tagliatelle was tough and I left half of it and friends cod was dry and overcooked.We never saw the waitress again, nobody came to clear our plates away or offer us desserts. If I'm in Folkestone again I'd steer clear away from this place and let my friends know to avoid. Customer service, needs definitely looked at. They take your money and leave you waiting unattended. Shame

We visited here on a Sunday evening. Greeted by staff and asked to sign in a sanitise hands. We were shown to a table and given menus. The garden area was quite busy. staff seemed in short supply but our drinks order was taken and we sat and enjoyed the music and views. Food arrived in good time - my 2 boys said they were the best burgers they have ever had (they love a burger). Lovely friendly staff, clean and tidy and well managed considering the current situation. Would definitely visit again.

Never frequented the bar or restaurant b4 never liked the vibes, really a loud bar for the youngers... Been taken over and looking to make a bigger go of it as somewhere to eat.. so my dilemma is we have tables for food families and tables for kids on the beer, conversations I don't want my 13 year old to hear... So not too impressed with this set up... Staff were superb, but the menu looks good, daughter loved the Nachos, my meal was so so, wife's fish platter all over cooked.. and yes it took 1 hour 30 mins to get our food as it was forgotten.... Yes it was half price but no thought of 'how can we make this up to you' Really disappointed maybe we was just unlucky

This is a lovely looking open garden bar and restaurant. We were holidaying in the area and decided to try it for dinner. It took them a good 7 minutes to notice us and seat us. Then another 15 minutes before they even asked us for our drinks order. The food too a further hour to arrive - their reason being reduced staff in the kitchen to keep social distancing measures. They had a fish medley platter that I was looking forward to as a seafood fan but it was awful. The Skuba burger was decent , the fries with it were lovely. The steak was not good at all. We were thoroughly starving by the time the food arrived and left really disappointed.

RUBBISH STAFF !! 2 hour wait for food and the garden was only half full , turned away later that day because we had a child. Not family friendly not welcoming , not even worth wasting your money at. Avoid if you don’t want to waste any of your time

We spent an afternoon here this weekend the staff was very friendly as soon as we arrived. They was very quick with the drink and food orders

Tried the new restaurant , great selection of wines and the food was delicious friendly staff a great evening out with a jolly atmosphere .

Only called in here once but was good as we are smokers (yeah yeah not good.. blah blah) The 'outdoor' area can be part or fully covered when needed so ideal to have a drink and smoke in peace. Clean place, good staff and prices.

The special, egg with wild cream mushroom and sour dough toast. Delicious meal, eggecent. Runny yolk, good selection of mushrooms. Very filling. Xx

Lo abbiamo frequentato in quanto ospiti del Portland Hotel (che si appoggia a questo bar per il check-in) e per un tè pomeridiano al riparo dal vento. Ambiente carino, in stile marinaresco, e servizi essenziali.

Had a great night on Saturday night. Great music, for all ages, loved a boogie and great atmosphere.staff were great and a special thanks to the door staff who resolved an issue discretely, without spoiling our and the other clients night. Thank you, you were wonderful and did everything to control a bad situation very quickly.thank you. We will be back.

Being a chef myself and eating other places this place is the place too eat SKUBA burger amazing staff very friendly beers at a good price not too expensive just right I would give you 6 stars but only goes up too 5 great night life too

We have eaten here before and decided to sit in the sun again and chill out.The staff are attentive and polite. The price for food is excellent. My wife had cod and chips which she enjoyed and I had the seafood spaghetti which I can honestly say was the best I have eaten. It was full of flavour and had generous portions of clams, mussels and pan seared cod. I asked for my compliments to the chef to be forwarded.We waited a little while for our meals to be presented which was no longer than I would have expected for freshly preparedfood. Very good. We'll be back.

45 minutes wait for 2 sandwiches. Bread was extra thick cheap sliced. Tasteless tuna over-compensated with tons of even cheaper tasteless mayo! (I'm guessing they buy bulk locally )With a bit of time management and commonsense I'm sure the service would improve if not the food.Managers respose to earlier negative reviews only confirms ignorance and rudeness!Such a shame as used to be a great place to eat.

After a wait of nearly 45 minutes we were totally disappointed with huge white bread 'doorsteps' housing cheap tasting mayonnaise smothering tuna and chunks of cucumber - not even sliced - greasy chips too . Somewhere we won't visit again nor recommend !

Me and a group of friends went here for lunch today. Food and drinks on the pricey side but the food was good. Nice surroundings and plenty of seating outside, but really disappointed with having to wait over an hour for food orders consisting of mostly sandwiches when the place was half empty. They didn't have two of the things we chose off the menu. Id certainly go somewhere else next time.

Excellent staff and food especially John the bar tender excellent customer service first time my partner and myself had been to Skuba made us feel very welcome he is a credit to the bar/ restaurant. We had the all day breakfast which was superb will definitely go back, thank you again John you made our evening. Michael and Sam

We stumbled across the SKUBA bar for lunch and were pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food.

Six of us ate here tonight. I had the beetroot tart and creme brûlée (best I have ever tasted). Both dishes were amazing and the chef is obviously very good. The desert was not on the menu and requested. I think it’s always a sign of a good restaurant when they are willing to do this. My meal came to £13.50 which was such good value considering how nice it was. I will definitely be eating here again. The bar was quiet as it was a Monday evening but I understand it’s much busier later in week/weekend. Great place!

This was a very lively bar. It was a week night and yet the music was full on with a karaoke singer slaughtering various songs. This was fine as we were having a drink outside with friends but wouldn’t want to be inside . The staff were helpful and the prices were reasonable.

Went in as was told its a great place to go. Well maybe it was but not anymore. When i got there doorstaff were slumped against the doorframe smoking like they didnt care. Went inside floor was so wet thought id gone to a swimming pool. And the decor was like an 80s film. The bar staff looked to be drinking more than the customers i know its a bank holiday but it looks very unprofessional. Went to the ladies loo and was over crowded women just hanging around chatting and sadly doing what i assume was cocaine in plain view not my cup of tea. I had one drink and decided to leave very dissatisfied. As i left a nice fight broke out doorstaff very aggressive did not try and diffuse it actually wound them up more. Im sorry if this is a great place to go i would hate to see a bad place in folkestone. Never again im afraid. But good if you want to score some drugs and have a fight. The place screams 80's in all ways.

Called in for lunch and a pint in the garden. Have been several times and have not been disappointed. Friendly staff good service and wide choice of food on the menu.Decent size portions and at reasonable prices.

It has been a hot, sticky week, so perfect for a drink outside before finding dinner elsewhere.

It was my friends birthday and we had already booked dinner later in the evening but decided that as it was a sunny day we wanted a light lunch somewhere that had a garden. I have lived in Folkestone for ten years, seven years ago was my last visit to this place and I have not been back because the bespectacled owner was so bloody rude but I thought OK let's give this a try. The two bar staff were friendly enough so we ordered our drinks and I ordered and paid for two items on the lunch menu. My friend chose what was described as a speciality sandwich called a CLT (Chicken Lettuce and Tomato)in Brown granary bread with mayo and curly fries. I chose the Tuna Mayo and Cucumber sandwich served with salad and I opted for the white bread. The cost of these sandwiches was £6.10 and £5.40, so I was expecting something quite special. When the food was served I honestly could not believe what was on the plate. My white sandwich was on the cheapest, thinnest sliced bread that you would pick up in any supermarket for around 50pence for the loaf, they had not put cucumber in the sandwich, the tuna was literally slopped in between the 'bread' and a little squirt of mayo, served with awful pre froze curly fries...… as for my friends granary bread sandwich, it again was poor filling slopped in between the cheapest sliced and thinnest brown bread you can imagine. Absolutely disgusting, a child could have made better !!!!!..… I could not keep quiet and when the bar maid walked past I told her that the food was unacceptable, it was not as described and it was an insult to expect people to pay £11.50 for such crap. She did not bat an eyelid, she completely agreed with me and told us that the chef was on holiday and there was someone covering for him in the kitchen. I asked that maybe someone should show the person responsible the prices that are being charged for the so called sandwiches. To be honest the bar maid came over a few minutes later and handed me my money back but I don't believe that was anything to do with the management I think that was her choice as I later found out that she was leaving Skuba that day for a new job.... Who could blame her. I will never go back to this place ever again and I will tell everyone. It's a joke and with all the new competition now in Folkestone these people should be upping their game !!!!!!!!!

Absolutely appalled by the way my friends and I were treated by the security lady on the door. She was very rude and dismissive towards us. This ruined our evening. It's a shame as the rest of the staff were friendly.

Myself and my friends visited the establishment this afternoon and spent just under £200 and enjoyed a lovely sunny afternoon in the garden with drinks and food. There was a lovely young gentleman who was clearly struggling with taking orders but as we are friendly people we were patient and bought him a drink. Lovely service, couldn't fault the establishment or the food.

We were staying at the adjacent hotel and called in for a pint before going out to eat.

We had 3 steaks all cooked to the individuals requirement and a chilli. the food was top notch well done chef.

Es ist schon eine Meisterleistung, ein Lachsfilet so lange zu grillen, dass es trocken und fast ungenießbar wird, und ein kleines Steak voll durchgrillen, sodass es sich besser als Schuhsohle als zum Essen eignet.

Waiters very unhelpful. Had to go inside to order our food. Toilets were disgusting with no toilet paper. Food was palatable but not particularly nice. Would not recommend.

Vine en durante el día y al instante con un servicio de bar bienvenida profesional (creo que era él Ash su nombre), aunque el bar parecía muy, muy cortos de personal, todavía logró sacar de él se queja, pero creo que él ama. He estado frecuentando este bar desde ya que la comida es buena si estás de paso y la gente las mesas tienen siempre limpio y bebidas son tomadas a las mesas. . Como digo faltos pero seriamente subestimado. . En esencia un gran bar y restaurante del hotel, con todas las esferas de la diversidad de la vida está viva. 5 Estrellas

Comenzó tomando una cerveza en el jardín, que fue bueno, porque teníamos el perro con nosotros. Pedimos comida, pero luego comenzó a llover. Trasladado a la terraza y nos trasladamos a mesas intenta conseguir bajo el medio abierto/cerrado marquesina. Nos dijo alguien sentado en la terraza (creo que era el director) para mover nuestras mesas ya que estábamos bloqueando las escaleras. Nos preguntamos si la marquesina podría estar cerrado, pero el miembro del personal nos dijo que sólo el gerente puede hacer esto y él no estaba en el lugar! ! ! ! !

29. 04. 17 visitábamos Folkestone brevemente a mirar lugares cerca del mar para caminar pronto será adquirir nuestro cachorro. Aparcamos fácilmente en coche y entramos al parque sandgate directamente la salida que está enfrente de Leas Cliff Hall. Sin embargo, justo al lado de la salida del bar skuba. Paseando por la medida en que el Grand Hotel y luego regresar a Skuba. Gran bar. Los tres chicos jóvenes que nos sirven la comida y las bebidas eran amables y serviciales. Nos sentamos en la terraza soleada y hay asientos jardín abierto. Tuvimos sándwiches BLT y simple CLT. Recién hecho servido con guarnición de ensalada con un bonito vestidor y patatas fritas de celosía. Genial. Podría haber sentado allí toda la tarde. Imagino que por la noche puede ser lleno de gente más joven que nosotros, pero tiene que sentir juvenil. Realmente disfrutamos de nuestra estancia y volveremos pronto posiblemente con el perrito después de nuestros paseos junto al mar.

Visitamos aquí mientras en Folkstone durante unas semanas. 3 de nosotros pedimos carnes, todos preparados diferentes. Se las arreglaron para mezclar todas las órdenes y los bistecs estaban corriendo con sangre fría, prácticamente en el interior

Después de haber caminado por la ruta costera de 5 millas de Hythe una soleada tarde de domingo este bar era un muy bienvenido. Nos parecía un lugar con asientos fuera de camino en Sandgate, pero aunque había algunos pubs y restaurantes, asientos del exterior variedad era escaso. Como terminamos caminando por el camino en zigzag hasta el nivel de la ciudad y el Bar Skuba su jardín era un verdadero oasis. Nos las arreglamos para agarrar una mesa en el sol (también hay mesas con sombra y la opción de sentarse dentro). Pedimos nuestras bebidas y nos sentamos examinando el menú de comida muy variada. Tienen una gran selección de aperitivos, sándwiches, bocadillos, hamburguesas, ensaladas y postres, las comidas principales y eran todos muy razonable. Teníamos una hamburguesa, hamburguesa, salmón tower y queso y cebolla croquetas sandwichera. Por una vez me acordé de tomar fotos de todas nuestras comidas antes apresuradamente escondido. Están tratando con la presentación como las hamburguesas salió en tablas de madera, y la salsa de tomate se sirve en pequeños tarros mini, aunque las patatas fritas eran en vasos de poliestireno así un trabajo en progreso. Toda la comida era adorable y estaba limpia platos en general. Como tuve la sandwichera nos fastidió luego nos quedamos encantados porque nos estaba para llegar en pan integral con ensalada de patatas y una rizado vestido para la suma de 1.10 £4. 50. . . Una auténtica ganga. El servicio fue rápido y el personal amable. Sólo desearía que hubiera tenido tiempo para flan. . Quizás la próxima vez!. Ah, y un último punto para aquellos que el juez un lugar por el estado de los inodoros, ME puede informar de que no fueron nada especial, pero limpio y adecuado, así que suponiendo que la clientela respetarlos, puedes polvo su nariz sin preocupaciones.

We were here Sat (01.04.17) prior to eating in the Chinese close by. A very ''convenient bar''- which also does good food, ideal in the Summer, but gets busy, busy.Situated opposite The Leas Cliff Hall, so again we use it to meet others before a show, but also the under ground parking exit brings you close too. We recommend, to visit, eat, or as a meeting venue.

Wednesday night karaoke is the place to go for a fun night out, great resident DJ every weekend. Boasts the best beer garden in town too, great location for a beer and burger in the sun. 5*

This place is a real mixture - Over the weekend evenings it gets packed, friendly enough crowd, peer prices reasonable enough. During the day the food they serve is OK, massive portions, generally pub grub fare. Great place in the summer as it has a large outdoor area right on the leas.

On a heatwave on the sea front my husband and I gratefully found a shady spot on the terrace Nice coffee and a cold drink the only thing was the awning was black marked like mold patches I was worried about eating below this so we moved over , food was very nice the salmon and potatoes was fresh and tasty my husband liked his burger , just cosmetically needs some TLC

We ( 3 or 4 of us) regularly meet up for a weekly lunch and move around the various restaurants giving them a try. The Skuba Bar is great value for money, food is nicely presented and is very nice, staff are a bit quirky ( in a nice way) I will certainly be going back and would recommend it

Sad to see decline in cleanliness. Bar was filthy & floor so sticky my shoe came off! Outside & toilets just as dirty. Really needs a thorough cleaning.

The location is great, the garden is comfortable. The food was hit and miss as the steaks were chewy, but all else good. It was the staff that made the experience, very friendly and accommodating. I don't have kids so can't comment on the bad reviews, but they were great with my very very big dog.

Good position but shame about everything else. Was lovely when it first opened but now very down market. Ate lunch here with husband and friend, my fish cakes were nearly burnt, my husband's burger served on a wooden board was accompanied by a handful of chips in a polystyrene cup - had they run out of wire baskets, if so why not just serve on the platter? Everything very grubby, looked like the awnings hadn't been cleaned since installation, all the table legs were grubby. Staff were smoking by the entrance steps adjacent to where we were eating, I know it was outside but not very nice. Complained on our way out to an off duty member of staff who was sitting nearby and he didn't seem to care, shame.

Do not take kids to this place. The staff are very rude and uninformed about their license. Upon arrival at 8:35pm 3 members of the staff approaches you at the same time saying it is against the law to have kids in there in the evening and when you tell them that there is no such a thing as against the law forbids children's from a bar/restaurant garden all they can tell you is well we can not serve you. Maybe they should also have some training about not smoking while cleaning tables or serving customers. If 3 members of the staff talks to about not having kids at the same time you know it's not the license its just the staff and management don't want families in their premises. If you check their license (which you do online because it's meant to be on display for customers to see) it doesn't say anything about not allowing kids in there.

We had both lunch and tea (dinner?) there. For lunch, we had a toasted club sandwich and a baguette as well as a portion of chips. Despite being starving, we could not finish this. The baguette was well-filled and the club sandwich came with lattice chips. Both were very nice – apart from the mayonnaise. The tuna mayonnaise and the club sandwich both had mayonnaise in them – I LOVE mayonnaise. But not this stuff, which was cheap, nasty acidic and sweet. The chicken, bacon and salad were lovely, though, as was the salad.For tea we had a smoked haddock and pea risotto and an omelette. Both were competently prepared. We were lucky with the weather and had both meals on the terrace / patio. The staff was friendly, helpful and polite. Service was quick – but you have to order and pay at the bar, which is not immediately obvious.Unfortunately, there was a smell of urine in one area of the patio, only slightly masked by the vast number of smokers’ cigarettes. As non-smokers, this somewhat spoilt the experience for us; maybe the management could limit smoking to the outer (garden) area, so that there is a no-smoking zone outdoors.We would not have gone there had we not stayed at the attached hotel. But given the location (near the channel tunnel and near the beach), we will go there again and happily eat there again next time.

Staff weren't exactly surly, but weren't exactly friendly either. Prices were average, food quality average, limited range of drinks. Nice outdoor area though.

I went here on a glorious sunny day for a light lunch. There's a nice outdoor garden area and outdoor terrace for cooler days with covered roof. Inside are red leather type comfy sofas for colder days. I had cheese and onion toastie for £3.50. This was served with a nice fresh salad and dressing complete with lattice style chips. Very appetising and the bar service was quick and staff were friendly.This bar is opposite the Leas Cliffs Hall so it's handy for a drink or meal before the theatre. Also dogs are welcome in the garden area. Something for everyone!

We visit this place every time we stay in Folkestone as it has a large outside eating area where we can take our dogs. Food is consistently good and served quickly. Staff are usually friendly enough and always welcome the dogs and provide water for them. Will definitely visit again

The service here was ok at the bar. There are steps to gain access to it. We sat in the garden , there is plenty of seating. The skuba is situated behind the Leas Cliff Hall next to William Harvey's statue. Very handy if you attend the Leas Cliff Hall as the bar gets packed during breaks.

Met my partner and popped in for a lovely cool refreshing pint. All very laid back and relaxed which added to a nice evening in the sun...perfect!!!!

We ha great sandwiches and ales for lunch. Staff was attentive and kind.Location is perfect, near the sea, with a nice terrace and garden.

After a stunning walk, thought wed stop here, sun was out, feeling thirsty, always thought will try this bar, as its a popular stop. Sat in the Garden, not too much effort made here, just basic. Staff friendly if somewhat understaffed. Cool drinks always a treat in the sun.

After a glorious walk, the sun was out, we stopped off here and sat in the garden. Great location. The service was ok, polite and friendly, although there seemed a shortage of staff. Didn't try the food, so no comment. But overall a good end to our walk

Fabulous food and brilliantly friendly/helpful staff. Will definitely by returning again soon. Recommend to anyone :)

Arriving in Folkestone early for a concert at The Leas Cliff Hall, we decided to try The Skuba Bar directly opposite. The menu outside looked good and varied and the girl serving at the bar was pleasant and welcoming.We both chose Sirloin Steak with all the trimmings from the menu and the meal was presented in good time and looked ok. But then things started to go downhill.......the steak was extremely difficult to cut, was full of fat and so tough it was almost inedible. If I am honest, it was probably the worst steak I've ever had.Upon complaining to the waitress we were offered a very insincere apology and we were told she'd "mention it to the chef". She then walked off and that was the last we saw of her.To say we were disappointed is an under-statement and the fact that I had to pay for the meal when ordering it was very annoying under these circumstances.The moral of this story is if you go to the Leas Cliff Hall and fancy something to eat before the show, it's probably a good idea to have a stroll down the road and try one of the other bars or restaurants in Folkestone, as you almost certainly will do better than this one.

food was very good, this was attached to our hotel so very convenient for us, if you just want something light I recommend their toasted sandwiches with salad & lattice chips lol

Just hit Folkestone on a one night stop over before early start to France. Where to eat? Oh look, there's the Skuba bar with an outside seating area, and a very friendly waitress. We've just started the first 3 week family holiday ever so we are in the mood for a nice evening and boy did we have one! I had a fabulous warm goats cheese salad and the children really loved their fish and chips. Can't remember what the husband and eldest daughter had but we had great service, main meals, wine and beer for £70 for 6. Yes thank you, I'll be back there if ever we are back there.

I went there with my friend and ordered chicken skewer with chorizo, risotto and paid in advance, but the chorizo was burned, i have taken it back to bar and showed that it was burned, and about 5 minutes later he brought us to same burned chorizo, I have told to waitress that this was the same plate, please take it back to kitchen and cook me proper one but waited for another half an hour unfortunately my food did not come back and no one came to say sorry and my money has not been refunded.

Went to this restaurant for a birthday lunch. Food was really nice and service was very good. Very well priced and so was the wine. Would recommend.

In Folkstone on a visit with family. This is a good place to drop in to for a drink. Seating area outside, very relaxed/relaxing.

Great garden area with loads of seating, perfect on a nice day to enjoy a drink. Bar area is nice with good bar staff. They serve a variety of good pub food here at a reasonable price. It's a popular choice with locals, I reccomend you try this place.

I actually stopped here by chance arriving early for a meeting - it would be well worth a return visit the staff were fantastic as was the service.

As this bar is right opposite the leas cliff hall it is a great spot to order a drink during a interval. also they do very good food well priced garden is a sun trap in the summer.

This is a bar and restauraunt on the seafront. There's plenty of outdoor seating, good for watching the world go by with a drink. The food was subpar though. The fish was tasteless and unspeaking. If you're looking for a meal try somewhere else in Folkestone

Thank you for putting on a great morning for us on Sunday for my family and friends after our wedding. Everyone really enjoyed it and it was the perfect setting and handy location for all our guests torendezvous from neighbouring hotels. Skuba Bar will hold lots of happy memories for us as we popped in frequently for drinks in the build up to the wedding (across the road in Leas Cliff Hall) and we will be back the next time we're in Folkestone.

On a bright sunny day- excellent place to relax with a pint with friends or alone. nice open air space with sun umbrella's and garden decks to enjoy a drink and chat for long hours. Drinks are quite affordable being a local place and pleasant staff

I'm in here every weekend me and my friends love this place!!! great atmosphere, lovely friendly staff and good drinks prices, Dj plays decent music! never had a problem here and this will always be the first place I think of to come and have a drink!

This is a very popular bar both day & night. It is straight across the road from the Leas Cliff Hall so isvery convenient for a pre- concert drink. Skuba Bar has a fantastic garden perfect for those sunny days.

Lunch...walked in an empty restaurant - bar tender just looks across said nothing ( like maybe "hello, someone will be with you shortly" ) and continued with whatever he was doing. We sat at a table and waited and waited and waited. Not having been to the place before after 5 minutes with no attention I realised you had to order from the bar SO WHY DIDN'T someone's tell us?So apart from a trip across The Channel 40 years ago this was the worse meal I'd ever had and will never go near that place again.

I visited skuba bar last night with friends and it was completely different to what I have experienced when visiting for lunch! The bar staff were friendly and helpful. But the door staff made the place feel very hostile and unwelcoming challenging customers about where they could and couldn't stand, male door staff following customers into toilets. I had my bag searched and half a bottle of diet coke removed it was very intimidating experience I could understand if we had been presenting challenging or suspicious behaviour, but we had just finished a fund raising event over the road and were in good spirits I will never go back for an evening again!

best to visit in the summer and enjoy the beer garden on the Leas, but it does get very busy. food enjoyable but at busy times, be prepared to wait a bit

Cosy sofas, nice atmosphere, friendly bar staff. Great for a pre show drink or snack. Liked the choice of lagers, food menu is ideal for a light meal with your drinks

Food is just average, pub food, but is great in summer time for drinks outside in the garden area, also accept pets so excellent to take your dogs for a day out and enjoy a beer.

great customer service and restaurant/bar. Highly recommended for not only during the day but the evening as well.

Clean and comfortable, visited before a Gig at the Leas Hall opposite. We left before the DJ started so can't comment on the type of music

I enjoyed my three visits to Skuba Bar & Restaurant. One of the main reasons was its location close to where I was staying, but just walking past and seeing a good crowd enjoying themselves seated outside also got my attention.An excellent selection of beers and wines and the best burger I have eaten in years. The rest of the menu has a good variety of tasty food including salads which I have also enjoyed. There is always a good natured crowd and the staff are extremely friendly and hard-working. Worth more visits for sure.

Easy friendly restaurant with a great range of dishes at affordable prices. The chance to eat al fresco in the better weather is a bonus.

Nice staff, long wait for bad food. Don't order "carbonara" which is chicken in white wine sauce and definitely no bacon or creamy egg sauce.. Bad value as well and small portions. Might be nice for drink, no food

Not a great deal to add really. We were staying in a local b&b, popped in for dinner one night and sat outside. I had carbonara and my wife a burger and both were excellent.Staff seemed very friendly, including a barmaid and a bouncer and the locals seemed like a good crowd.I can only assume that being so busy means they need door staff, unless things liven up latter.If I find myself in Folkestone again I will definitely pop in for dinner again

Went to the Skuba Bar and grill en route to start our vacation. Oddly enough the restaurant doesn't open in the evening but food is served ... Eventually!!! An hour wait for frozen scampi and chips is ridiculous especially as the place was near empty. A deceptive dive .. Looks okay from the outside. We weren't expecting gourmet but we did expect our food in a reasonable time. I suggest that you only go here just after your last meal so you can order in time for the next. Okay then just avoid the Skuba Bar and Grill
