Had a perfect meal to celebrate the passing of my dad. Just a small family gathering. Starters were brilliant and the mains were heavenly. The staff were friendly, efficient and attentive without being overbearing. Everything was reasonably priced and was a perfect way to remember dad. Thank you

On our yearly trip to Winchester this established never changes, once again excellent lunch, I had Saug, mash, peas and gravy and my hubby had one of there delicious Burger and chips, the service was quick, staff pleasant and cheerful, also went in the evening for drinks, it was very busy but a good atmosphere, the only negative was my wine was served in a plastic glass all night, but overall well done all, see you soon.

Just dropped in to have a drink - 2 x cokes, milkshake and a thimble full of ice cream came in at over £17. Probably par for the course these days but felt overpriced to be honest. Cokes were just run of the mill mixer stuff (a bit flat), milkshake and ice cream Ok.

We occasionally pop in to the crocus cafe at Dorney court and previously the experience is positive. However , we went for lunch today and ordered the new salad dishes from the menu. This was a mistake. I had something called a chickadilly salad which is honestly the worst dish I have ever tasted in any restaurant. It was described as chicken and cauliflower on a bed of spinach and new potatoes with a picallili mayo. I counted 4 small pieces of chicken and a few florets of cauliflower. New potatoes were fine but the spinach was smothered in mayo. About half a jar of mayo! After few bites it makes you feel like you want to vomit. Mayo is a garnish , not a main but I couldn’t eat any of it the taste of mayo was overwhelming . Don’t order it. You’ll waste you money. Stick with the basics like jacket potato or sandwich. Couple that with the fact it took 35 minutes to arrive it was a terrible performance. What a shame. One of my favourite places to go for a coffee has been demoted to non league and I won’t be going back any time soon.

Called in mid afternoon for lunch. Arrived about 2:45pm and told the kitchens were due to close at 3pm so we had a quick browse of the menu and ordered quickly. Drinks were OK. Simple order of fish and chips, cheeseburger and fried buttermilk chicken burger. When the food arrived it was very disappointing. The chicken burger was an overcooked and shrivelled piece of chicken breast that didn't even half fill the bun and was sent back and as the kitchen had shut we were refunded the cost. The fish and chips was OK but the peas were like bullets and melded together. The cheeseburger was edible but very basic and not worth the £16 price. As soon as we finished the two edible meals we left and went elsewhere. Would I go here again? If I just wanted a drink possibly. If I wanted food - no, very disappointing. Front of house staff were pleasant enough but all three meals seemed like they were quickly churned out by a chef who just wanted to finish and get out with no attention to quality

Service was poor right from the start. We hadn't even sat down and looked at the menu before we were asked what we wanted. Its like how do we know we haven't even looked at the menu. You feel not welcome, all felt a rush they just want you out. When the food came it was very bad.. Carrots looked dirty and awful. They tasted so bad i cannot believe how terrible they were. they must of been old carrots, dirty and unwashed and probably boiled in week old water. Was trying to encourage the kids to eat healthy but the carrots tasted that bad we told them not to eat them. The chips were undercooked. One of the two poached eggs undercooked, couldn't eat it. Just all round cheap ingredients and cooked badly. Felt not welcome , not nice place. Will not be returning again.

Oh dear, our Thai dinner must rate as one of the worst experiences ever. The starters of chicken satay were cold and tough. The accompanying peanut sauce was tasteless. Only a fork and spoon were provided and so we had to ask for knifes! The main courses of noodles were mushy and inedible, it was supposed to be served with chicken but only two small pieces were there. The beef massaman main course was tough and over cooked. Not sure what the sauce was supposed to be but it was a congealed gloop of something brown. So, although the food was most disappointing the bottle of Malbec was excellent and a very good price. Go to the Plough for a drink and enjoy!

Met with family in Winchester for a meal. It took a while to find a pub to get booked for 6. We had Sunday lunch today. It was brilliant! And it tasted homemade rather than from the freezer. Between us we had the nut roast, roast beef, lasagna and fish pie. Excellent and generous helping of vegetables and roast potatoes.
