I have eaten here a number of times: most recently on Thursday evening when my cousin and I chose the Hunters Chicken burgers. Tonight Chris (Chef) excelled with two rib-eye steaks (mine medium rare & my cousin well done) and lasagne. Our diner tonight was excellent Chris, and Thursday’s burgers were equally worth recognising, hence eating out again. Thank you

Visited on a Friday evening with my friend for some food. I had the cod and chips which was delicious, and I loved the homemade tartar sauce. My friend had the beef burger which she said was amazing. The portion sizes are really good, actually doing themselves a disservice as we were too full for any puddings! Our server Becky was lovely, polite and attentive without being in your face which I find can be a put off in some places. Upon asking she told us the food was cooked by Lucy, so thank you Lucy, we will definitely be back to try some different food. The garden was busy due to the weather being so nice so we sat inside, nice cosy atmosphere and a lovely looking fireplace which I assume will be lovely in the colder months.

Went for Mum 90th Birthday with all family - The food was absolutely disgusting, a curry which had tomato puree sauce with a pot of chutney, cup of rice, stale poppadum, nan bread was not even cooked, just plain out of a packet. The lasagna was greasy, fish and chips likewise. Pub restaurant empty for a Friday night - I would keep clear of ordering or going for an evening meal - just microwave food or a very very poor chef.

Was once our “go to restaurant”: indeed had previouly recommended it. However now a year of so later made a detour to visit again! Met with an apathetic individual, unsure of what vegetables accompanied the “famous” steak pie! Think he took a guess!…He got it wrong….Meal arrived ,,,,quality and quantity sadly deteriorated!…wont go into the rest of the sorry saga,,,suffice to say….we won’t be doing any more detours to visit…

Having been a regular visitor to Sussex Oak when we lived locally and several times over the years it can be counted on for a reasonably priced lunch. A broken chair was the only downside of our visit. A matter of a screw and some glue but I very much doubt that this will have occurred by our next visit. Otherwise service was attentive and dietary needs met so one cannot complain. Most venues have a menu choice wide enough to accommodate the vegan and Vegetarian as well as the most finicky of eaters. For a light lunch on a warm day a quiet country pub has much to commend it.

We had a great time at the Sussex Oak in Warnham. The place is superb, the garden magnificent and the welcome adorable (a special for Michele the waitress). I recommend the sausages (bangers) from the village butcher (Bailey's) which are excellent. A moment of calm and pleasure. All products are local and delicious. To recommend without hesitation!

A lovely welcome at this traditional Sussex pub. We stopped for lunch with our horses as part of a 100km charity ride. We were brought water and carrots for the horses and were allowed to graze the horses in the lovely big garden. We then had coffees and the most delicious sandwiches with chips. Would definitely rate 10/10 for friendliness and quality of food and I will be visiting again with my family.

Sunday Lunch. I went with my boyfriend and the service was fine. However my food was not up to scratch I'm afraid. I had the Nut Roast which was really soggy and mushy without the firm texture I was expecting; the red cabbage was very vinegarry and there was a lot of thick brown gravey over the nut roast and cabbage. The Rosies Pig Cloudy cider was watery and tastless!

Am loathed to voice our culinary experience today but it was so bad I feel I have to. Having booked weeks ago for a Sunday booking for 4 adults and receiving recommendations from 'visit Horsham' I was sadly disappointed at our actual meal and experience. We were shown to the dinning room where on our table were two dead daffodils, we were asked for drink requests within minutes and a bottle of wine and two separate large glasses of wine appeared very quickly. The two starters arrived promptly but the 4 roast dinners took almost an hour. The plates cold, the vegetables cold, except for the red cabbage. The roast potatoes hard and inedible along with the Yorkshire pudding. The beef and pork seemed to be pre packaged and not carved from a fresh roasted joint. Waiter apologetic but having boasted to our friends of a local pub roast and them coming from Sailsbury we were left disappointed. The cost of one meal was removed as wasn't touched at all. Sorry but with so many restaurants fighting for survival this is one we won't be returning to. £122 spent. A visit to the toilet facilities at the end of the meal made us glad we hadn't gone at the beginning.

An all round excellent experience. Very welcoming, great food and very quick service. Very friendly staff with a welcome sign that you see when you walk though the door. A good choice of mains. My sister had the ham, egg and chips. Very good, tasty ham and nice crispy chips. I was going to have a pie but spotted venison steak on the specials board. Not something you see often. It was really tender with a superb flavour and came with lovely dauphinouse potatoes and veg. For pudding we had creme brule and Tiramasu. Both delicious. They were quite busy but the service was very quick. We were in and out in an hour. Not cheap but considering the quality it was good value. Thoroughly deserving of 5 stars.

We pre-ordered the Christmas menu as we were a large party. The service was awful, took 40 minutes to take our drinks order, the starters took over a hour to arrive. I had to keep asking when the food was, I’ve never had to chase an establishment so many times. After the main course the dirty plates weren’t cleared for ages and we had to chase them several times for the desserts. Some of the food was very good, the pate was lovely and a large portion for example but the main course roasts had been microwaved. The manager was not interested and could barely look up from his phone to talk to me. The toilets were filthy with wet paper towels everywhere, bins overflowing and a toilet seat broken. When I reported this he said ‘We never check the toilets unless someone complains about them!’ Other parties arrived without pre-ordering and had eaten and left and we were still waiting for desserts. There was one member of staff who was trying her best but the rest were too busy standing around to be any help. We had to ask for the service charge to be removed from the bill as the service was so poor.

Old Fashioned English Pub. Dark beams (real); roaring fire, big enough for 3-4 to enjoy the first 30 minutes of a real crackling log fire. Soon its just too hot to sit near. The pub is spacious with several large rooms around a central bar. As big as it is, the staff are friendly and hard working. I imagine even on a Thursday or Friday evenings everything "scales up" and copes with a much larger crowd.

This pub is staffed by such a fantastic team. We regularly visit for drinks and or food. The Sunday roast is of excellent quality and excellent value. Yet another one totally enjoyed today. We often visit with my partner's elderly grandmother who can be quite confused and slow at making decisions however the accommodating staff are always patient no matter how busy it is. It makes her feel relaxed and happy. It's so nice to see a human touch rather than a rolled eye by someone who doesn't care. At this time of year when the weather is dire and the nights are dark, it's so good to know this place is consistently good. A lovely atmosphere this afternoon, a place full of happy people both customers and staff.

Booked a Sunday Lunch for 2 adults and 2 small children. Very poor roast dinner. Children roasts were expensive at 13.95 and were mean = only had one potato , one slice of meat and no Yokshire pudding included ( the best bit for my grandaughter!). Vegetables were simply boiled and bland hardly any gravy although they did provide extra when we asked. They got the order wrong bringing a side order of garlic bread which we hadn't ordered and added 4 alcoholic drinks to the bill which we hadn't had. They put this right but without apology. All seemed a bit Chaotic.Won't be returning.
