I had an excellent night out tonight with the curly hair, long haired, and girl with bun bar tenders. They were friendly and was happy with any request although I was difficult and asked for special requests. They were smily and came over quickly while it was super busy. I understand that their pay probably isn’t the greatest but the service was amazing and showed a ton of passion and showed me a ton of passion to making my Friday the best possible. Will be returning.

We hosted our daughter’s first birthday party at The Six Bells at the weekend. We could not fault anything! From start to finish, Zoe and her team made the day a complete success. The function room was perfect for our event, and everyone loved the food provided by The Six Bells. We would highly recommend the pub as a venue. We wouldn’t hesitate to book the space again for another occasion in the future.

Terrible service! ordered our main meal wasn’t great the burger was supposed to come with pulled pork but didn’t, the salmon was extremely dry and the chips was burnt. When trying to order deserts as we was all still starving the guy with long hair tied back was extremely rude said they can not offer deserts as the kitchens closed and just had such a bad attitude towards me, This is terrible service we was not told this when we ordered our food and online it says the kitchen closes at 5. We had a 30th birthday family meal at the Six Bells on 25.5.24 for 17. Zoe and the staff couldn't have been more accommodating. Beautiful set up at the back of the pub which we were able to decorate. The cake was involved in a car accident on its journey to the pub and the kitchen went out of their way to make repairs, even popping to the shops to buy more accessories and candles (which I had forgotten!). The afternoon was relaxed, with great food and service. As we left, at 6.30pm, the gardens were teeming with punters enjoying the sunshine. Thie new owners deserve every success and we are very grateful for all their hard work.

We celebrated a 30th birthday at the Six Bells yesterday, 25.5.24. Zoe and staff could not have done more to accommodate us. Great food, fabulous friendly service, nothing too much trouble. The beautiful cake was involved in a car crash on its journey to the pub and got a bit damaged! The kitchen staff went beyond helpful to repair it- they went shopping for extra bits and provided candles (which I had forgotten!) We had a lovely time and are so grateful to the staff for all they did for us. As we left the beer garden was teeming with people. We wish Zoe and staff huge success. Brilliant. Hugely recommend.

What a transformation! This pub was almost at a point of no return, but seeing this pub on my visit last weekend wow what a change. The pub is now an inviting and welcoming place for friends and family to meet with a great well kept outdoor space and plenty of seating. Inside the pub feels welcoming and warm with a new lick of paint and plenty of stock on the bar! A great variety of choice on tap and plenty of spirits available, everyone is catered for. With it being opening weekend there was no food from the pub itself but the pizza van in the car park clearly went down a treat. What a fantastic idea whilst the new owner settles in and hires the right person to take on the kitchen. I can’t wait to see the future of this place and a massive well done to Zoe and her team for bringing this pub back to life!

Wow, what an amazing pub. Visited twice over the opening weekend and was very impressed with what has been done with such a small amount of time! The bar was well stocked and had multiple different types of beers, spirits and wine to chose from. There was a pizza van for food on Friday which was a great idea as they are still awaiting a chef, to still be able to get food there made us stay even longer. The pub has had a refresh and looks great, fresh walls and some new lights have transformed the place. It has the old pub feel but is cosy and comfortable. The garden is a lovely size and has been spruced up, ready for the sunnier days. I cannot recommend the pub enough. I will be going back to try the food for sure and definitely be back for a drink or several in the near future!

March 2024 - Under New Management. After frequenting the six bells at the back end of last year and being disappointed, we heard that the pub was under new management starting this Easter Weekend, so decided to give it a try. The Six Bells is a beautiful, venerable and characterful pub with a cracking garden out front; the perfect place to go for the sunny Easter Saturday. As we arrived, changes were evident; the garden had had a scrub up, with plenty of lovely spring planters lining the walk down from the high street to the front door, before being greeted by the busy atmosphere of couples, young families and a few old guard enjoying their pints and Aperols. Inside, the lovely new owner has given it a nice lick of paint and a good scrub up that really complements the character features and stone flooring of the venue. Plenty of drink options were on offer - a good guinness and IPA’s were the order of the day and plentiful - something that had been missing from our last visit. You name it, they had it and that included plenty of Ice and fruit/botanical to go with the multitude of Gins, spirits and premium mixers. A firm favourite with the wife, but we’re yet to try the wine list, which again was well stocked (no more of the super sweet Zinfandel!!). All in all we had a great afternoon on the beers and are really pleased to see such a wonderful venue get the TLC is really needed. Worth a visit and we’ll certainly be enjoying the garden more as the clocks go forward. The pork scratchings were also pretty damn good too! We will be back. E & BP

This place has really gone down hill. The new management have really ran it into the ground. Barely any drinks available due to no stock and the kitchen closed because they can’t maintain a chef! Staff look miserable and there’s no atmosphere anymore. Lots of young kids in here now, rowdy and volatile. Lots of drug use in here too now, where are licensing to check this? This use to be a family pub and I wouldn’t dare bring my children in here now. not the experience we are use to from this pub. This pub has been been getting worse for the last year, although since December it’s been noticeably a lot worse. Probably the owners have just taken on a new pub in another village and can’t be bothered to even get spirits in. This pub use to be a real gem in this village. We’ve had many happy summers here, lovely food and a fantastic atmosphere, this has been completely destroyed by whatever management has been brought in and the lack of effort put into the pub. I wish they would bring back Kirsty and Kirsten who could actually run this pub successfully. It’s an absolute shambles.

This used to be the best pub in the village. Was supposed to be eating with friends but was told they no longer served food despite it being advertised on their website and Facebook page. We decided to stay for a drink... no white wine, no vodka, no spiced rum. The mam with the beard and long hair (who apparently is now manager!) Was rude and has absolutely no customer service skills. The tall chap with glasses and the young chap who hosts the quiz were very pleasant and apologetic. I felt sorry for them running around like headless chickens whilst the manager leant against the bar on his phone chatting to friends. These two members of staff are a credit to the pub but unfortunately they're the only good thing left about it. Whoever owns this pub now has wrecked it. If Hall and Woodhouse read these reviews I hope they act upon it and get the pub back on its feet again. For now, we will be drinking elsewhere. Very sad 😔

A pub that doesn’t pay its staff and doesn’t care for them at all. No wonder this pub is being run into the ground. Lifeless and zero atmosphere. The Manager also needs a lesson in what customer service is. As for the Licensees - they gave up ages ago so no wonder the pub is back on the market. Needs a proper professional couple who will get rid of the kids and drugs and utilise the pub garden.

Came with friends for drinks over the Christmas break. They had no wine glasses so we had to have a wine in a half a pint glass. The gentlemen behind the bar with the pony tail was incredibly rude to our whole group. I tried talking to him about the pool table and he was too busy on his phone watching a video to answer my questions. The tables were sticky and surface of the table wasn’t even screwed down to the table frame and legs so one of the friends slipped and spilled there drink and fell over. My partner asked if they had any wine glasses for us and he was then replied with “ do you have any more questions” by the bartender when he was asking a simple question. Utterly disappointed overall and felt like we weren’t welcome at all. Definitely wouldn’t recommend

I took a friend for fish'n chips as it was her birthday. The person I approached on the bar to order had a very stroppy attitude. We picked a table to sit but were told to sit somewhere else although the Restaurant had many empty tables and there were no reservations. When the fish'n chips arrived I immediately saw that the chips were very dark and charred/ burnt at both ends. I was told they are not burnt. My friend and I had to dip each chip into the tartare sauce to cover the charred taste. A lady came round to ask whether everything was alright. I mentioned that the chips were burnt. She passed this on to the kitchen staff which made this stroppy person appear again trying to tell as that the chips were not burnt but were home made and not frozen like other places use. When I paid, I again mentioned to the lady that the chips were charred and she agreed with me. I must mention that we had fish'n chips in the Six Bells last year and everything was fine. I cannot comment on other food they serve but the fish'n chips we had was not a enjoyable birthday meal.

For the 1st time in 4years we both revisited the six bells in billingshurst, and even though the pub has lost none of its charm we were both disappointed with the food. The piri piri chicken burger had hardly any sauce and the only extra was a lot of lettuce. My so called beef brisket one had two small rounds of beef which was quite hard and chewy, and it certainly didn't resemble a tender brisket. So all in all we were not impressed, and it spoilt our lunch. But the service was quick, and the beer was welcomed.

The restaurant was much bigger than I thought it would be. We ordered drinks, a pint of laher and a maximum and coke. For starters we had prawns and bruschetta. The food came quickly and was really nice. For mains it was chicken and a brisket beef burger. Both were really good. Another drink and the bill was only £57. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was that some items on the menu weren't available and I found there was just a bit too much garlic on the bruschetta. Invited here for Christmas day dinner with family. Unfortunately, I have to say the experience was not good at all. Rock solid potatoes, slow service, beer tasted like the lines have never been cleaned. Will not be visiting again.

I had the most delicious roast dinner that I’ve had in a long time at the Six bells- the gravy was so rich, made fresh with black pepper that enhanced the chicken taste to it. The vegetables were cooked perfect and the potatoes were fluffy...

The atmosphere was welcoming warm and friendly. The menu was designed to suit everyone’s taste. We both had Stilton and broccoli soup which was very tasty and sufficient as a starter. The haddock and triple cooked chips were devine. The batter was light and tasty. The whole meal was superb and well priced. Sadly the heavens opened, but the bar manager went the extra mile by driving us back to our hotel in the village. What more could you ask for? British hospitality at its best. We certainly didn’t expect such kindness and compassion. Thank you SO much.

It was a cold day and we visited for a cup of coffee and to see the recently opened pub. The lovely open fire was unlit and there was no atmosphere. For an old pub the decor was not suited to this lovely village pub. Another couple came in and asked for mulled wine, however the pub had none! So December, no fire lit, no mulled wine and staff that were not very engaging. We looked at the food menu and we felt over priced. I’m not surprised it’s closed. Hopefully it will re-open soon with someone with a better strategy.
