Lovely traditional pub but with the added bonus of fabulous Turkish kebab served in the garden. What a fabulous surprise that this hidden gem was tucked away at the back there.

Decent local pub with friendly staff and locals. Limited choice of beers and agree with a previous review one of many pubs that seem to have adopted the ‘London’ (short) pint as it used to be called. Bit of music now and then too.

There’s a good selection of very well kept real ale amongst the usual offerings. This pub remains one of the best value places to drink in the area with lots of good seating inside and a greatly improved garden. There’s a nice relaxed atmosphere about the place too. My only complaint is the consistent short measures of both spirits and beer! It’s happened so many times to me that I’m beginning to think it’s a deliberate policy rather than incompetent bar staff. I nearly always have to ask for my beer to be topped up and watching a large gin being poured from optics, the second measure is always started before the optic has fully refilled. On the beer front, it doesn’t help that the pumps have sparklers fitted to produce a “northern pint” with a creamy head, yuk, not great as it squeezes the life out of the beer, takes as age to pull and makes it difficult to serve a full pint.

My partner and I have lived in Weybridge for just over a year, the farmer is the first pub we stumbled upon on our first night and we have been pretty much weekly ever since (when we have been able to!). I highly recommend the Jolly Farmer, it is a wonderful little pub with a beautiful beer garden, fantastic welcoming staff and a great selection of drinks. Every friend and family member we have ever brought with us have also loved this pub. I cannot wait until we can visit again.

This pub has deteriorated rapidly over the last 4 years+ since the current manager Paul took it over. He has no interest in running a stocked bar (always running out of beers and lagers) does not have kitchen staff (they walked out) so no food. It’s a disgrace that what could be a really successful local pub has been allowed to be managed in this way.

Notwithstanding it is my nearest pub I would go there anyway. Shame that it only has Summer Lightning for a few months but otherwise a proper local pub, best beers, best barstaff(maids) and I like Paul in his pyjamas, never makes me feel underdressed. The atmosphere is just so friendly and pork scratchings the best, I like the eclectic clientele and in the warmer days the garden is ideal. Whilst I admit to writing this review after a couple of hours in there it would be the same if writing it earlier in the day.I haven't eaten there but friends of mine who have are complimentary about the food.Yes it can be difficult to reach the bar sometimes but that is what proper local pubs are like. "mmm...that meat was really good" reports back Dad. "What did you have, the lamb or the beef?" Sticking his tongue to the top of his palate for one last assessment, he goes with lamb. Having had the beef, I starting praying to the Pub God that my favourite landlord Paul came back with his tray of today's delights. "Go on. Take it all" says Paul. Dad hesitates before his Scottish streak kicks in and he gratefully accepts a couple more slices and a home made mini scotch egg.The lamb is so good that we mastermind a plan to sack-off my Mum's offer of homemade beef in black-bean sauce tomorrow for Sunday roast at the Jolly instead. "Well I've been coming here since '77, '87, '97, '07, 17" says Dad slowly extending fingers. Yet I feel surprised when he finally declares: "42 years I've been coming here." I always thought I introduced him to our special hang out. With a look of nostalgia he adds: "Use to have ploughs and farm instruments on the wall. And I use to bring your Grandfather here.""I never knew that!" But apparently I hadn't asked. Dad wished he had quizzed his own father more for this type history. And that is exactly why I love this pub. Full of memories and the community spirit still that pubs were about to keep the conversation flowing. These days the walls are adorned with signs giving you solid life advice. Useful titbits of knowledge passed from one faithful patron of the Jolly to the next like: "Hard work never killed anyone, but why take a chance" and: "Alcohol is some of the best times you'll never remember".The current landlord Paul has done an outstanding job of reinjecting life into this Surrey institution, so if you do swing by, be sure to say "hi" and give his lovely staff little break from his eagle eye.

Notices a review of the new menu at the Jolly Farmer and decided to give it a whirl for lunch with my wife.Very warm greeting from Megan behind the Bar who had a glass of New Zealand Sauvignon blanc and a pint of London Pride served up in no time. We asked if lunch was available and she supplied two menus. After checking we made our choice," Have you seen the other side? she asked. We had not and duly ordered spicy meatballs with chilli and wild boar sausages. The food was very reasonably prices, less than £9 per dish and was excellent. The sauce on the wild boar sausage was amazing. We had another round of drinks and all for just over £30 quid.We asked if they do sunday lunch and they do. We will be back.Limited menu but well cooked and very reasonable.

I entered the pub, which has been a local of mine for many years and which I know a lot of people who drink within, only to be met by the owner at 10.30pm on the night England beat Tunisia in the world cup; the owner told us that we were not allowed in as we hadn't watched the game at the pub. After pleading with him, as well as telling him that we drink in here regularly, he told us that we weren't allowed in and had to leave. Whilst debating outside where to go next, staggeringly we witnessed a group of 3 young men walk straight into the pub. Considering that since the renovation of this prehistoric pub my friends and I have visited every weekend and stayed until close, I will now be unforunately be telling everyone I know who lives near the Jolly Farmer or who is known to drink in this "public house" to not do so, as the owner will undoubtedly make them feel unwelcome. I have never been made to feel like I have this evening, and I think it is disgraceful that someone would have the audacity to stand in the way of customers at 10.30pm trying to have a night cap in their local pub.

Minted lamb, roast chicken, beef or pork; all are great, (truly) home cooked, clearly very selective meats and served HOT. Only too often pubs serve mediocre food without care; the Jolly Farmer breaks that trend. Posh it's not, fancy, definitely not. But, if it's sensible portions of quality home cooked food you're looking for, then this is it. Compliments to the cook/chef who prepares pub Sunday roasts second to none.Ju

Went for Sunday Lunch here yesterday...had booked and specified the location I wanted to sit in. On the morning of the lunch we had to change to booking to add an additional person and this was no problem. The pub itself is what I would call a traditional British local. It has a relaxed atmosphere and pleasant bar staff and waiting staff. The kitchen is run by couple Christine and Kieran who did a fantastic job! On the sunday lunch menu, there were a couple of starters an a whole raft of different roasts including a vegetarian options. Christine kindly accepted to do childrens portions for my parents, who both in their 80's, struggle with the main size portion. Having said all this, my wife and I choose the Chicken and to be fair the portions sizes were substantial! The others in my party had the topside of beef which was also well received. The final point about this review will finish on the beer. The pub as a great selection of hand-pull real ales and we had a few pints of Gales 'Seafarers' which was absolutely top-notch! Looking for a venue (with food) for an informal party/celebration? Look no further! Just had a wedding celebration party in the garden for 100 guests and a great time was had by all...... With wonderful food to prepared by Chrissie and Kieran. Decided on traditional English food: cold ham (carved to order), beef, chicken, whole dressed salmon, new potatoes, salads, fresh crusty bread, chess board and vegetarian options (hummus, cruditiies, dips). The food was wonderful; all freshly prepared, beautifully served just from a marquee available for the event. The afternoon/evening was hosted by landlords Paul and Felicity and they did us proud! All guests were warmly greeted and made good use of the colourful, secluded garden at the rear of the pub. Real ale drinkers will love the variety of beers on offer (pub is popular for this very reason) and good variety of wines, spirits available too. Pimms was very popular for sunny afternoon party! They do quick small curries of an evening which saves going for an expensive full blown Vindaloo after the beer! Seating outside in the garden - given the weather - is very pleasant. Occasional live band in the corner of the bar - just the job! A good spot.

I saw a review that described the Jolly as dated. In fairness, it is.Not a gastro-pub, lots of 'stuff' on the shelves, good beer, friendly staff who greet me in a friendly manner, rather than ask me if I am 'good' in a fairly plastic, intrusive fashion, as if they've been my best friends for life. Depends on your point of view,I suppose, but I like the place.

Visiting my homeland from the USA and was desperate for a good Sunday roast. Reservations recommended in this classic English pub. By classic I mean it has not been updated and turned into more-restaurant-than-pub as so many places have! Friendly staff, great selection of beers. Good mix of locals and people in eating. I had the 1/2 shoulder of lamb and quite honestly it was delicious! Perfectly done veggies, perfectly done roasties and great tasting lamb! My wife had the pork and loved it! She does not do crackling so I ate that for her and like everything else, it was delicious!

This is one of a dying breed of traditional pubs where the focus is on the beer, the atmoshere and good, friendly, customer service. It's a small and cosy L-shaped bar with a beer garden for the summer, and very close to the cricket green. There are guest ales which are always good and music on some nights. I have not tried the food,

Visited from the isle of Wight and went for Sunday lunch 7 Dec at short notice. Brilliant meal. Boozey beef pie & roast chicken and the pudding was the lightest hot choc sponge with crème fraiche. Great beer too and lovely staff team. The very best of home cooked food

At very short notice we tried to find a pub for Sunday lunch in the Weybridge area, and the Jolly Farmer came up trumps. Not been there for years, but the staff were really helpful, the food was perfect and the place was pleasantly full. Thoroughly recommended, but don't take our space next time we come!

You will always get a warm and friendly welcome from everyone here. The pub was taken over last year by new management and they have made an amazing difference. Our dogs are always welcomed too - with the occasional treat thrown in! The chefs here are wonderful and not only do they provide great food, but also a real hospitable service, always mixing with customers. I have a disabled brother and they always make a special effort for him. If you want the best Sunday roast in Surrey, then try here - but remember to book. Highly recommended by Dean, Anita, Steve and the dogs !

What a difference a new interested tenant makes. Paul mine host has cleaned the place up introduced some new beers and wine ,new snacks, better helpful staff and transformed the rear beer garden.. Add to this tasty well cooked hot food now being available at lunch time with limited fare in the evening the Jolly Farmer is once agani the best typical English pub in the area. During the past year before Paul''s arrival there have been a succession of owners and managers which forced me to find an alternative watering hole however it is now a pleasure to return to my original "home" Well done Paul visit it you will not be disappointed

Friendly local with a nice garden at the rear, could be so much more, Time to rip up the carpet and de-clutter the walls, while the greeting and service is friendly its like sitting in a old folks lounge, that's not the customers as they were a mixed age group just the interior

If it's a nice day, then head here. The garden is huge. The choice of wine, beer and ale is excellent. The food has improved in the last 6 months (since the new owners in late 2013).

No complaints at all about the fish and chips at £9.95. It was superb, 5*. But the tortilla with salad arrived without the dressed carrot and cole slaw mix, had to be sent back. No forks so had to use a tiny picnic one use with a proper knife. Courteous and helpful start.

The food here is prepared with little care or attention and is exceptionally expensive for the swill that is served. Eat here at your own peril and if you literally have no other choice.

A lovely cafe inside Tesco. Friendly and attentive, with good food and coffees. Will be sorry to see H&H go from this Tesco pub early May. Wishing the staff well!
