Harris + Hoole in Elmbridge

A lovely cafe inside Tesco. Friendly and attentive, with good food and coffees. Will be sorry to see H&H go from this Tesco pub early May. Wishing the staff well!

Great place to relax before taking on the big shop! Coming to Harris and Hoole is the highlight of my week!! Devastated to hear it is closing down. But alas, 'all good things must come to an end' - Geoffrey Chaucer. I would like to give a big shout out to Emma, exceptional service always. Brilliant coffee artists like her make the coffee shop so enjoyable.

I ordered 2 Americano decaffeinated coffees. I have to say they were the worst tasting coffee I have EVER had in my life! Literally like dish water..zero flavour. Would never go again. For £5.90 you would certainly expect a lot more!

My local cafe and one of my favourites! Usually come here queuing up with other runners after the Saturday Brooklands parkrun, or to work on my coding for work during the week when we are supposed to "work from home" 😉 as the atmosphere is relatively relaxing 😌

Visited this morning . Ordered a large oat latte. The waitress made the drink, poured it in a large cup. Realised it was only a third full then filled the rest with cold milk from the carton. Meaning my drink was Luke warm at best. She knew what she had done and just shrugged it off. I’d have felt better just throwing my money down the toilet.

I wish if I could give more then 5 stars for atmosphere :-) Beautifull atmosphere, cosy seating area, very relaxing enviornment, best coffee in town And a very friendly and experienced barrista, what else you want from a coffee place right ? Highly recomended. Inside the tesco extra, so no parking space issues , and fair prices.

Great little cafe located in the Tesco, great to stop in rather than stopping at a services. Tasty coffee and the cakes were lovely, also a place to fill up a water bottle if required and plenty of toilet changing facilities for the little one’s in the adjoining store.

Favourite coffee go a lot food good and staff really friendly

Didn't seem particularly busy, but the queue moved very slowly and, once ordered, our coffee took an age to arrive. When it did come it was in paper cups, even though we were drinking in and they had proper crockery. Had we realised there was another coffee place in the same building before we committed ourselves to the queue, we would have gone elsewhere.

Can’t speak to the food but just stopped at this coffee shop to have a coffee. 3:30 on a wet Saturday afternoon. Half of the shop was closed off with mops, buckets etc so very few seats available. When I asked if six of us could sit down I was told that they’re closing at 5pm so had closed off half of the seating. There were 2 or 3 of them chatting away behind the counter. A little shrugging….no solution. Luckily there was a lovely cafe next door at M&S. Friendly service, good coffee and plenty of seats!

Wanted to get a coffee and a gluten free snack for our daughter after doing some shopping in Tesco. Unfortunately the service was terrible & we left! We had a pack of fruit from Tesco in our hands and as we approached a table, a member of staff came up to us & said “You cannot eat Tesco food here!”. I replied, I will be buying coffee & food from H&H, can we just leave our Tesco food on the table? He replied “we are not Tesco, you cannot eat it here!” He was rude and very insistent, so we left! We were going to buy food & drink from them, but he made us feel very unwelcome.

I waited 5 minutes alone at the pay desk for someone to take my order. There were 3 girls per shift and all 3 were talking and laughing as if I wasn't there. Then waited 15 minutes to get my coffee after i went and asked them, they said they forgot even though i was the only one who ordered. Also all the tables were dirty and not cleaned

Nice latte. It was made and plonked in front of me with no words. I had to ask if it was mine. Customer service training needed.

I always come here to eat a sandwich and drink chai tea with my colleagues from work. The costumer service was always so awful that we have almost given up out coffee breaks. We then decided to go back yesterday and we met Holly (she has coloured hair, very pretty) and she made us feel so welcome, her costumer service is amazing, she treated us so well that we came back today again to have lunch here. Holly saved two regular costumers with her warm welcome, always smiling and the way she served us, that NEVER happened before. We felt very special, thank you Holly!! We will keep coming now, Haris and Hoole Team please keep Holly in there she is amazing, the place really needs someone like her, she makes the place a lot better! :)

The customer service truly needs help here. The ladies both had a huge attitude problem. When I ordered and paid the guy who took the payment did not even say thank you, or it will be out or anything. Took the payment and walked away. The 2 ladies working also didn’t even acknowledge me or anyone else. Piccolo coffee v nice but husband found the range of soft drinks overpriced and limited. Cleanliness not great-table we were at was covered in crumbs.

I am a regular at Harris + Hoole and have always been treated amazingly, even occasionally getting a lovely coffee on the house. Their COVID measures are amazing and I always feel super safe being served there. A few vegan and dairy-free milk options which are great. I usually get an iced coffee with oat milk which I hope they continue to serve through the Winter. Definitely recommend a visit!!

I have been here before and had a great experience, this time though.... The cheese and tomato 🥐 was a bit burnt. The cappuccino was a bit watery. Everyone else in my group was very satisfied. I gave a bonus point for playing George Michael on the muzakplayer. Oh, and the furniture here is looking a bit tired but I don't mind that.

We much prefer to visit H&H inside tesco, instead of the tesco cafe, as you are getting better quality food. The prices are very reasonable and the seating is comfortable. The staff are always friendly.

Probably the best coffee in the area. Certainly superior to the usual chains. Be warned that they close a lot earlier than the supermarkets here.

The coffee here is made beautifully, the staff make an effort to get to know you and you favorite drink. I always treat myself to at least 1 coffee if i am shopping

I take my elderly mother here every week when we do our food shopping, and in the past have had issues with lukewarm drinks - we now get round this by asking for our drinks to be served extra hot. The staff they have now are very charming and polite (this hasn't always been the case) but I'm sure they would gain more sales if they covered up there cakes - we have witnessed people sneezing over them, they are at the right height for children to touch, without even thinking about the other airborne germs and flies etc, they are situated right next to the till with no cover at all - when we visit well known high street competitors we always order a sweet treat to go with our drinks - but these are safely on display behind a wall of plastic, the very thought of what unexpected toppings your cake will come with is enough to put us off! Please cover them up!

Fantastic best coffee shop around

Visit this H&H quite regularly and the staff are always very happy and friendly, some even remember your name (nice touch). The food is always tasty.

WELL I do not. Decided to have a coffee before leaving. No one seemed to be taking orders. Eventually a young chap running around with a toastie, asked what I wanted. HE placed the toastie down on the counter in front of me this is where supposedly after taking my order I was to wait for my coffee. Not terribly hygienic. The 'gentleman' making the coffee spent a while 'cleaning' the machines before making the coffee, all such an effort. HE sported a tee shirt printed on the I like or LOVE my attitude. For which he displayed NONE and not a sign of any charisma! Ignored me completely. Charming, man, NOT ......why did he have to advertise this fact IT was obvious for everyone to see he had attitude BIG TIME. Of course the young lady served after me, young, pretty and blond seemed to motivate him. One thing you can be assured of with this restaurant IT does not change expect bad service and you can never be disappointed.

Just when I thought it had improved, big mistake. The last few visits have left a lot to be desired. Three weeks ago luke warm flat whites! They were returned and serious attitude from the barista! Why not my fault you made them. Chanced cappuccinos last visit all milk and little coffee, so bland. I myself dislike the miserable staff, slow and unapproachable. TODAY, the tables had not been cleared again - employ more people with personalities. A group of charming elderly people sit at a table, about 6 /8 of them, it is a joy to see them in conversation and laughing. Today one lady had to clear their table after ordering more drinks. I answered the question 'is this a fast food place?' NO...fast it is NOT. Dreadful service.

I popped over to Brooklands try to find a fan, but non left at all, not even Tescos where this coffee shop is. I popped in here as needed a cold drink & saw they had smoothies, but all gone, so ended up with a Chocolate Shake, take away as walking back to the car. It was very yummy & told Georgia C who served me, as cooled me down. I thought it was expensive for what it was, but this was my 1st time here. Its inside Tesos Extra before you enter the store itself. There were plenty of seating, clean & tidy, toilets, free wifi & baby changing. Open M-F 7-5.30pm, Sat 7-6pm, Sun 9.30-4pm. Would recommend. Plenty of FREE parking for M&S &Tescos customers.

Management informed me that "My girls, staff , are uncomfortable around you" After many staff changes here it is impossible for me to understand why I'm treated so shoddily. I ceased using HH completely after this appalling episode.

Quite good coffee and decent seating area. Only issue is that it can seem a little untidy sometime. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Excellent coffee, free coffees through their app. Ultimately owned by Cafe Nero, but focused on quality.

quality of coffee making is really low. Today we had literally 2 mugs of milk instead of flat whites. I decided that I never go there again. interestingly enough, there is a H+H shop in Addlestone which is absolutely perfect compared to this one. shame as it used to be a good place some time ago.

This place is situated between M & S and Tesco in the Brooklands shopping area, parking is free it is an ideal place to sit and relax between the two large stores. It is the usual format where you place your order, pay, pass over your name and walk around the counter to receive your purchase. The coffee is really lovely, and served in beautiful cups which should make the visit relaxing and easy. Sadly the staff here are not particularly interested in their customers, they in fact can be rude and abrupt, it appears at times to be an effort to serve you. They mainly talk among themselves, barely look at you showing a disrespectful.manner. This also may be why the tables are not often cleared of dirty cups, rarely wiped and feel sticky. Somebody please make this place more welcoming.

Coffee tasted ok but a double espresso barely covered the bottom of the cup. Terrible value, I won't buy coffee here again.

Fantastic coffee made exactly as I like. Croissant really flaky, delicious scone, both warmed in a proper oven, not soggy from microwave or flattened in panini machine. Comfy chairs. Next to M&S; and Tesco. Only downside is the music was a bit loud. I'd make a detour to come here.

I love Harris+Hoole coffee. Smooth and tasty, they make a special effort to make it look attractive too. Plus, on this occasion, the Bakewell muffin I had was very tasty too! This location is functional rather than eye-catching, sitting as it does between M&S; and Tesco superstores, but it beats their cafes hands down. So if you'r there to shop, treat yourself to a coffee break at H+H.
