First time going to the Crispin on Sunday! Lovely country pub, food was amazing! Don’t usually go to restaurants for roasts because I’m very particular! But it did not disappoint. Never usually eat stuffing either but their stuffing I need in batch loads! Great price and beautiful. Highly recommend would go back for sure! Thank you!

We came to the Inn for some adult time, some quiet from the kids. We were welcomed by staff that could not do enough for us, locals that were so welcoming and friendly we instantly felt like locals. A chef that see how hungry I was that he told me to pre order and he would have it ready for me at 6 when the restaurant opened. The food was insane. The garden is so beautiful and our room was immaculate. Bottle of water ready for a heavy head was a cute touch. Free tampax in the ladies another cute touch. Have absolutely loved it here and will without doubt be returning. Thanks guys x

Came for a family event and stayed 3 nights at St Crispin Inn. The room was clean, smelled fresh warm, and had a king bed which turned out to be comfortable. However, definitely NOT worth £I30. per night price. Price did NOT include breakfast, that cost £12. extra per meal. There was NO towel changes, NO turndown service, TV signal was sporadic at best, only 2-3 channels were not pixilated as to make the TV almost unwatchable Not even BBC 1 or 2. And The room was not cleaned or made up for my entire stay. The room was booked by a family member (who lives in the same village where the St Crispin Inn is), and a deposit of £50 left. When I checked on their website to check prices, NO room prices are shown, And when I saw in the bar that I could book a room for £60 per night, and enquired why I wasn’t offered the same price, the answer was totally unsatisfactory, IE it is a winter price, which is subject to certain clauses. The owner kept making excuses about the price being an area standard and norm, and this may be the case for hotels in the area, but we are talking of a country village, without even an AA or RAC star rating When I mentioned that there is no indication of cost on their website, I was informed that the control of the website was in someone else’s hands, and it wasn’t easy for them to change it, but they must be able to tell whoever has control, what they want on it. All in all the room was ADEQUATE, but NOTHING ELSE. and DEFINITELY NOT WORTH THE PRICES THEY CHARGE. I WOULD ASK ANYONE WHO IS THINKING OF STAYING AT THE ST CRISPIN INN, Worth, to look again, because there are other establishments close by Which are cheaper and possibly a better choice. PS, the lady owner was full of excuses and reasons why I was wrong, but she was right..

Being meaning to find the time to visit this pub as heard so many positive reviews on it… we can honestly say the most traditional, chilled pub in the local area… we didn’t eat, however food looked amazing and everyone looked so pleased with their roast!! (We visited on a Sunday) friendly staff, lovely clean pint of moretti, look forward to visiting in the summer and making the most with the kids in what seems a proper family environment.. thankyou Franki and James… what an amazing job you’ve both done!!! My wife and I decided to stay and dine for our anniversary. Everything was fantastic from start to finish. Despite being late for check in. Francesca messaged me personally ensuring it wouldn't be a problem. We arrived, finally. The room was stunning with a cosy touch and a personalised note from the landlords. The pub itself is a beautiful traditional country pub. The staff are extremely helpful and attentive with no request to small or large. The food was amazing. The location is surrounded with countryside and beautiful walks. 10/10. Thank you so much for making our anniversary such a lovely evening.

Stunning food, the best place around for a Sunday roast HANDS down & I am yet to find a dish on the menu I do not like (I’ve had nearly all of them so trust my words 😂) The most warm & friendly service from every member of staff regardless of how busy they are (& for a quaint country pub it’s always pretty busy!) The big garden is perfect for a summer time drink & has a play area so the adults can relax whilst the kids play ☺️ Franki & James always have fab entertainment and events lined up all year round 🎤💃🏼🪄 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Once again we came here for lunch, always a pleasure, food was fabulous as always, staff were friendly and attentive but not intrusive, the old traditional 15th century building makes for a beautiful warm atmosphere a delight to see these days as so many pubs seem to modernise them , nice to see this one has retained its character. Filled with all the locals and families and children enjoying themselves on the new playarea created wonderful ambience. Would highly recommend.

Avoid this place. The food was substandard and we were treated absolutely awfully. When I tried to explain the situation to the owner - I was ignored and had to beg for a response. They then turned the whole situation onto us making up lies - CCTV would prove this. Our family were treated abhorrently and although hurt we continued to be pleasant. The incident is serious enough for us to be taking it further. One of our party also became unwell after - they suspect the seafood to be at fault. Please do avoid - it’s for your safety and own good.

Dropped by for lunch, menu looked promising albeit top end £ wise. The beef curry special was tender meat but that's where the experience went awry. No flavour to curry but hot. Poppadoms were literally dripping in oil which in turn saturated the naan bread that they were laid on. My partner had gluten free burger which was dry and flavourless this came with a few fries and some garnish! Considering this is mid range pricing structure it does not stand up to scrutiny. Waitress was friendly.

A blast from the past as I knew the landlady and her son in the 70s from Sir Roger Manwoods School !! We were in Deal on a day out and phoned in advance as we had a dog with us. Very prompt reply on phone saying dog friendly and they served fish and chips. 20 mins later we were at this charming village pub My wife had the fish and chips with mushy peas which she said was top class I had pigeon breast and the baked Camembert with amazingly fresh mini baguettes. The food was of the highest standard ! The two girls on duty were polite attentive and have kept the areas clean and very tidy. I also run a pub in London, so good to see great attention to detail. Well done team!! Kitchen and floor staff were perfect ! I will 👍 return

This is a delightful pub full of charm with a great buzz. We have visited in the past for drinks, but today went for Sunday lunch. The menu offered a great selection of starters and mains and you wont be disappointed the quality was brilliant and the quantity just right. So all in all very good. The only downside was the delivery of 'you will have to vacate the table at 3'. The delivery was blunt, direct and could have been much better worded, so a bit miffed by that.

We had not booked, but lovely warm welcome from very friendly bar staff. Could not do enough to please. However, people sitting immediately within the entrance to the bar, making it impossible to observe social distancing.Food distinctly average, & subsequently over-priced. If the chef was actually working, then they need a replacement - mushroom risotto (£13) does not consist of boiled white rice with fried mushrooms stirred through it & sprinkled with parsley.

4 of us had lunch here last week. We sat outside as it was a hot day. Some of the bench tables were under a canopy, a couple of other tables had parasols , but not all of them. It's a large garden. Our large round table had seen better days, it looked quite tatty and needed lots of tlc, a good sand and varnish. The large chairs were the same and all were very rickety. Considering they had been shut for months I would have thought that all the furniture should have been maintained during this time.We visited during the eat out in august 50% discount days. There were a few people in the garden, but it wasn't packed out.Ours meals took a while to arrive, 2 of us had the pasta dish of the day, which was penne pasta with chicken and bacon in a creamy garlic sauce. This was okay, but nothing special to look at, quite plain and basic, sauce very runny, I think full price is £12, which I think is far too much for what we had. One of us had a burger, which looked nice and one cheesy bacon chips which also looked and tasted nice.We ordered 2 eton mess for desert, which are £6.50 full price. Very expensive for what you get, I'm glad we didn't pay full price, Serve in a small tapered glass, assorted berries at the bottom, I only found one tiny piece of meringue, my mum didn't find any in hers. Decorated with squirty cream and one small strawberry still with stalk. Our huge spoons were just plonked on the table, by an older lady, not even wrapped in a serviette, (quite poor in view of the current covid measures). The said tatty spoons were far too large and it was impossible to reach the berries in the bottom of the glass. I think all the desserts on the menu are £6.50, which to me is very expensive. I wouldn't choose to eat here again.

Firstly they denied we’d booked by the very unfriendly landlady?.even though I had the evidence on my phone, no apology offered . Should have left then, Excuses for not having cleared the table and very poor quality food everything as cheap as chips except for the price, wine, cheese, condiments the cheapest you would find in any brookers. Clearly a drinking pub for the locals and not interested in other patrons. Lovely setting could have made a killing but not with the current attitude. The serving lad was very sweet though but sorry not worth a visit to Worth.

This is a lovely old country Pub in a beautiful location, just right for a treat after lockdown, we thought. The Landlord very welcoming however the Landlady not so. Perhaps it had been a long day but the pub itself was off limits and the toilet experience was one of a military manoeuvre, fully appreciate and agree with Covid safety but without the stern and abrupt instruction given! I understand certain rules are still in place but other eating venues are now serving indoors? We shall return but perhaps when things have “warmed up” a little and times hopefully more reassuringly safe for everyone in the future. Staff great, hard working helpful and friendly. Should just add, we have visited before and enjoyed a lovely lunch afternoon. So fingers crossed next time.

This review is of staying here. Initial impressions weren’t great. We were in one of the annex rooms at the back of the pub. The outside had piles of leaves and rotten apples, an old bin bag and sweet wrappers blowing about! However the room was fine. Clean, apart from black on the wall next to the wardrobe. Lovely and warm, in fact too hot! We turned the heating down! Fresh towels, a comfy large bed and even chocolates on the pillows! There was even 2 bottles of water, which were replaced each day and a kettle. It included breakfast and it was cooked to order. We had full English with coffee and orange juice. The breakfast was hot and tasty and while it was cooking we amused ourselves by listening to the resident African grey parrot Rio, , who was very vocal and knew lots of noises and words. We didn’t eat there in the evening as we were visiting family and ate with them. For the price it was a very good stay and a good location for deal, where most of my family live.

We travelled over 400 miles to get to this property to stay as a family. A staff member very thoughtfully had phoned us to enquire what time we would arrive and we stated the time, well within normal serving times, and we said that we would eat in the restaurant so assumed all was well.On arrival, I thanked the person for calling us but she was embarrassed to say that the chef thought it was too quiet for him to stay even though he knew there were four people effectively booked in for dinner. We drove into Sandwich and ate in Luigi's which was good, but I was annoyed that I had already driven so far I didn't want to turn around to drive away again. With this unprofessional attitude of the chef, it's bound to manifest itself in other ways too so may be I should be thankful that we didn't eat in!

It was our first time at this little pub. It looked so promising because there were so many good comments about the food. They must have been talking about a different pub because the food was beyond dire after a half hour wait and we being the first to order. My cod came up dark brown and hard that I could snap it in half like a twig. According to the bar maid this was because it was “beer battered” and if I asked for another one it would come up the same. This was nonsense - it was because it was very overcooked. My partner’s burger looked NOTHING like the picture on this site. It was all mushy inside and tasted horrible. cheap cheap cheap meat. Honestly it wouldn’t cost the earth to buy some nice steak burgers and you’d still make a good profit from the mark up. Again there was another excuse about this being bad because the meat had no fat in it or something ridiculous. Makes it tasteless pap? The final flourish was that the mushy peas tasted a bit like cigarettes probably owing to the “chef” popping out for a smoke whilst burning my cod? Honestly so disappointing for what could be a lovely little place.

We were camping just up the road & decided to visit this place for something to eat. This pub looked lovely from the outside along with a good garden but from the moment we walked in to the bar we felt un welcome. We had our dog with us which we had checked were welcome but there was a bird in a cage in the bar area which my dog was sniffing and was sternly told we were upsetting the bird so take the dog away. The bird seemed fine to me but I found the ladies attitude plain rude. My partner queried if we could order some food and we were informed they had been very busy over the lunch period & it would depend if there was anything left. Again her attitude was unfriendly and unhelpful so we decided to drink up, leave & find somewhere else. Not sure if she was the landlady or bar staff but she could do with a lesson in customer care.

Having read the previous reviews we thought we couldn't go wrong with the Steak & Ale pie. The pie was delicious but the cold veg served with it was very unpalatable. I am not being picky, however I do like roast potatoes, carrots, parsnips, broccoli and gravy to be hot! Unfortunately we had to summon the waitress to complain about the cold veg. She brought a hot dish of carrots and broccoli but we explained that all the veg was cold. She took away the hot veg and our plates of food and said the chef was doing us a fresh meal but we would have to wait. When it finally arrived everything was hot, the pie really good. We were offered a free dessert but declined as we were too full and tired too. Three stars because the breakfast was good the next morning. Would we go back, afraid not nor could we recommend.

Today 9/3/2019 sadly I have only given the meal one star, which is a shame as it used to be really nice, we cannot fault the service as the young man that served us was very pleasant and did his job well, he was looking after the bar and being the waiter all on his own, we where the first three people to come in for lunch, then followed by two more couples also a bit of entertainment from a African Grey Parrot called Rio, not sure that it’s very healthy having the parrot near the eating tables, because when they plume their feathers, dust and feathers do flutter out of the cage and can land on the food a customer is eating, also some parrots can carry Psittacosis also know as Parrot fever and can be very harmful too humans and make them very ill, I do know about Parrots as I have one who is 35 .

In the past this was a very nice pub to visit unfortunately in recent times in has been allowed to rapidly go down hill. I ordered a latte ( very small, and in no way resembling a latte) and a pint of amsril lager. The combined cost a grossly over price £8.55. We had also ordered a sandwich and chips for a reasonable price of £8.50. These were well worth the cost. As in was a sunny day we sat in the scruffy beer garden with our drinks expecting our food to be delivered to our table. No such luck, just a shout from a member of staff informing us that our food was ready, which we to go and get it ourselves. Such a shame that what was once a great pub as now sunk to this level

Very disappointed to find limited parking space blocked by 3 scaffolders' vehicles who were in no mood to move for customers . Whilst eating in the pleasant garden our meal was spoiled by the constant loud noise of the builders grinding tools and blaring ghetto blaster radio in the garden . When I mentioned this to the woman behind the bar she seemed disinterested and said ' that's scaffolders for you ' with no attempt at an apology . As I approached the bar to say that we wished to eat in the garden she immediately snapped , '' You'll have to pay before you eat '' Not a very subtle approach to an incoming customer . She seemed to be in a bad mood - or perhaps she is usually like that ? The food was very good and otherwise I have no complaints . Needless to say I shall not be going there again .

Didn't realise it was a Caribbean menu when i booked on a Sunday evening. Amazing food and great service. They kept the kitchen open to serve us which we appreciated greatly.

Me and my fiancée came to Sandwich last week, upon crossing the bridge into Sandwich we immediately noticed this quaint little pub/restaurant. We decided to have a spot of lunch there and neither of us was disappointed. We had two glasses of Pimms, the bar staff had run out of oranges but one of them nipped out to buy some more which we thought was lovely. I had the brie and bacon baguette which came with a side salad and some crisps and my partner had the sausage baguette. We also had two sides, some chicken goujons and a potage fritter. The food was lovely, we sat outside opposite the river and the atmosphere was superb. We waited a tad long for the food but it may of been a busy period and plus I'm definitely not going to complain about the wait whilst I sat there with my Pimms in the sun looking at the river,

The St Chrispin Inn tucked beyond the village school is in a lovely location. There is a restaurant and bar area where you can sit and eat. We had booked the restaurant as there was 13 of us. The landlord was happy for us to decorate the table bring balloons and a birthday cake. The food was absolutely delicious and the service excellent, they couldn’t do enough.

Recently visited here with a group of friends for an evening meal, I had high expectations after reading the reviews but sadly this wasn’t the case, our starters came out and most of us had chicken wings, they were terrible, looked and tasted like they had been microwaved, no flavour and just soggy skin and chicken, very disappointing. We thought ok, maybe the mains will be better, wrong again!!!!!! Everything was over cooked and bland and on the menu it said about twice cooked chips, seasoned chips, this that and the other, we all got cheap oily chips which were all the same, everything was just poor. It’s a shame really because it’s a nice little pub with a nice atmosphere. One thing I will say though is the 2 girls working behind the bar and restaurant were fabulous, they were very attentive, kind and had great customer service skills and dealt with our complaint very professionally. We did get money knocked off the bill which was very generous and we were grateful. But maybe a menu change or cook the food with a bit more passion maybe??? It’s all in the seasoning with food, makes a big difference

My partner and I decided to pop in and try a Sunday lunch here a few weeks ago. The food was excellent and we did not have to wait for long before it was served. We had a waitress called Danielle, she was very friendly but professional, attentive and ensured that we had an overall good experience whilst we were there.

Always guaranteed a good meal or a peaceful drink. Garden is good too. Child friendly. We enjoy our Sunday roasts, a drink in the large garden in Summer or a drink by the fire in winter.

We enjoyed a fantastic Sunday lunch for the amazing price of £10 a head. Every aspect of the meal was perfect. Potatoes light, fluffy and crisp on the outside, gravey so tasty, vegetables with a great choice and fantastic cauliflower cheese. Last the meats, our party had chicken, pork and beef. My pork had excellent crackling and was cooked to perfection. The chefs who I was fortunate to meet were a great crew. Our servers were friendly, attentive and lots of smile. They even tolerated by terrible sense of humour! The pub is just a great local village pub with a good garden. Dogs are welcome in the bar and garden. So come along for an amazing meal. Thanks everyone at the St Crispin Inn, we will be back, and soon. PS..What a cheeseboard!

My husband and I visited on a Sunday lunchtime with our elderly dog and we were made very welcome. Although we had not booked and the place was quite busy we were able to eat in the bar area. The Sunday roast was delicious and reasonably priced and the owner bought out a couple of slices of Roast Beef for the dog which she thoroughly enjoyed. Will definitely return when we are this way again Thanks

We ate here 2 nights whilst staying in the local area, the service was great and the food was good too, portions were huge and good value for money, the menu was varied and really reasonably priced compared to other places in the area, on our second night we were all given free drinks with our meal because someone had complained about the slow service however there were no complaints from us, we waited no longer than 15 minutes for dinner to arrive and the service from Amy and the team was brilliant, however they insisted on us having a free drink. We hope to come back again one day soon when we visit the area again. Keep up the good work !

We visited St Crispin Inn whilst staying in Worth. They allow dogs in the bar area which was a requirement for us. The menu choice was very good as were the daily specials. We ordered a starter and a main course then sat back to enjoy our real ale and wine. When the starter came I thought they'd brought the main course first - the portion size was huge! Anyway, I set about eating it and it was very tasty and hot. Then the main courses came and we wondered where we were going to put them. We managed to eat most of them and they were very tasty but we were defeated in the end. Had we not had the starter we'd have eaten all the main course. There was no way we could even think of a dessert let alone eat one. I don't know why places serve such large portions as there must be so much wastage. Better to make people want more in my opinion. In summary, the food is home made, tasty & hot but be hungry if you want more than a main course.

This was our first visit to this charming Pub. Our party of 7 included 3 children and it was a post Christmas gathering to catch up. The Pub was warm and welcoming. After we had ordered our pre lunch drinks our Menus were given to us by our waitress Danielle and we were left to choose . After about 5 minutes Danielle asked if we were ready to order, we weren't so she politely said she would come back in 5 . We caught her eye and she came over, took our orders for starters and mains and then checked back with us to be sure she had it right . She did have ! Well I must say from that moment on our dining experience just got better and better. Everything we ordered came together despite having at least 5 different starters and mains, very generous portions , piping hot fresh food , delicious well cooked variety of vegetables and fantastic gravy . Only 3 of the party managed dessert and they all looked fab ! The service from Danielle was spot on , friendly , efficient and timely . But it goes without saying that dining out comes from a Team as a whole , so a big Thank You to all the Team at the St Crispin. We all thoroughly enjoyed your Pub, hospitality , food and drink . In the words of Arnie ....." We'll be back "

We visited at lunchtime. The food was nice and there was plenty of it. However, the whole experience was soured for us by the loud chatter and laughter of the bar staff who, clearly, were not busy. Their laughter was unnecessarily loud. There was a customer at the bar who was, I think, a member of staff as she went behind the bar a few times. The noise coming from the bar made it almost impossible for us chat ourselves. The upshot was, we did not have coffee but fled to the peace and quiet of home.

It suited us to stay in the area. The room was small with dormer windows so you needed to be mindful to duck getting in and out of bed. We didn't get much sleep as we were over a generator or air conditioning unit near the kitchen which was permanently on so very noisy. The water pressure was poor for the shower and the decor was tired and a bit grubby.

Been here twice and both times the coffee gave me the runs I’m not sure if their not storing the milk properly or what ! never had an issue at any other shop except this one and when I went back and told them about what happened they refused to take any accountability was very laid back about it and said it’s probably something else I had that morning😐despite this being the second time it’s happened?never again wouldn’t recommend

We had a wonderful Sunday Roast here. They were able to get us in without a reservation and were so nice and friendly despite being super busy. The inn oozes charm and the food was delicious. We got a beef roast and lamb roast and sticky toffee pudding (gf) for dessert. A quick stroll down to the beach for a lovely view. We feel lucky to have found this gem!
