Costa Coffee in Dover

Had a hot chocolate milkshake, it was lovely and presented nicely. Had one in Deal Costa the day before and staff serving didn't care what it looked like, it was stone cold in the bottom. They couldn't even be bothered to serve us. Both blokes saying to each other they were busy. So we'll done Costa in Sandwich we shall return, even knows we live in Deal

Brilliant as always very personable staff keen to help and friendly throughout our time here. Older building with full length windows give you good views of historic Sandwich town. Thank you Taylor and Abbey we will be back

Not normally one for big name coffee places, thought I’d give it a go; Very lovely drinks, incredibly clean place, when the staff were not making drinks they were cleaning, most importantly, super super friendly. All smiles and friendliness all around! Shoutout to Bryony, James & Abbie, thank you all for being so kind!

Usually places to sit but can get busy at lunch time

Decent Costa, well placed with pleasant staff. Food is usual limited Costa fare, coffee is better than most of the other chains. BUT please open upstairs when you're busy. Many times I've struggled to find a table, only to find the upstairs roped off. Why?

Great Costa, very good service and such a lovely location

Met a friend for coffee but their coffee machine had broken down, we managed to get 2 cups of tea, not their fault and they did try their best to help people

Quite a nice atmosphere for a Costa. Limited space because it's only a small shop. Went in on a Saturday morning and it was quite relaxing. Staff are ok, but sometimes the younger ones have a bit of a long face.

Luckily the coffees always nice in Costa but we're not likely to go this one as it's always dirty with trays, mugs and crumbs on tables despite not being very busy. Make a point of going elsewhere now unfortunately.

Lovely staff and great coffee .

Needs a clean and spruse up! Coffee cups chiped and stained, crumbs all over the floor and takes not cleaned between customers. Whole place looking a bit dated.

Tasteless panini, noisy front door

It has to be said this Costa branch has gone to absolute pot!! It’s dirty all the time and drab and the what was a once happy atmosphere has gone. The toilets were absolutely disgusting too. The store is dirty and cups are left everywhere. It doesn’t open early anymore either. There’s no politeness and the girl working there seems more happy sat on her boyfriends lap half the time than doing any work! What a put off. Thinking of using no name shop now or the lovely new waiting room

Clean tidy, able to sit in, while we drank our drinks, busy, good to see a steady trade.

Untidy, messy tables unclear tables yet 4 staff behind counter , why do they never clean up as soon as someone leaves stand behind counter talking, floor dirty to.

Not too busy, despite the market outside. Had the bottled caramel frappe - it was delicious! The missus had a latte which she enjoyed!

Another superb visit with family on Sunday (yesterday) Lovely and clean store, and greeted always by hard working Chris and his colleague Dani, they were happy and make us laugh, gives the store such a happy vibe, food and drinks to high standards as always, thank you for a fantastic visit

Called in on 30/06/22 , Ordered coffee, tea and cake.. Upstairs seating drab and dismal, food scraps left on seats, old sugar wrapping and general rubbish left between seat cushions. the teapot had obviously not been cleaned properly, brown stains around lid and spout. as with the tray and plates. Complained to the so called manager but very little interest taken, This is one place to avoid in Sandwich

Walked in to a male employee moaning to his college that he couldn't get the sweeping done because customers kept coming in ie me, then started complaining about toilets not being cleaned, poor customer service nowhere near as good as Deal Costa.

Great coffee , polite staff and the best millionaire shortbread

Visited the store Sunday. Decided to take some of my family as the 40's weekend was on, greeted as always by Chris with his lovely happy face, he's always so polite. Considering it was an event day the workers worked extremely hard, store was clean and tidy considering there were visitors coming from everywhere. It has to be said Chris always puts his whole heart into his work and it shows! Lovely visit thank you Sandwich Costa,

Awful customer service from the brunette Man. Not only did he swear infront of my kids and myself, to which i did not know if it was directed to me. He then made my drinks and didn’t tell me they were done, didn’t even put them in the cup holder. Like he did the previous customers. so rude. And made me feel so uncomfortable.

I visited on Saturday 2nd April with family as part of a walk around Sandwich to show them the area. First impression of the store was dirty - an overflowing bin right in the doorway and toilets weren't sanitary (I took my son round to the public toilets instead). As a party of 5, we sat upstairs for larger tables, and the upstairs walls were crumbling around the windows, rubbish on the floor, and dirty tables. On ordering £28 worth of food and drinks, there were 2 members of staff behind the till and I had to wait for them to finish their chat before getting any service. My food and drink was served in takeaway paper packaging, not crockery, and the only explanation was "sorry, short staffed". We were also asked to put everything into the overflowing bin on leaving. The staff didn't smile, say please or thankyou at all. The tea in the paper cup was very weak and the hot sandwich for my 6 year old was soggy. I expect a lot more for a well-known chain and was really disappointed. I wont be going back. You're paying premium prices for McDonalds experience (and every McDonalds I've ever been in has been spotless). I recommend avoiding this place and going further into the Guildhall area and using the spotless, independent coffee shop a few doors further down.

Just had a black coffee. Only 2 other people in.

Quite disappointed with the flat white coffee's on this occasion, Costa is normally not too bad, this however was thin and lukewarm, definitely not at their best.

Not very impressed with paper cups,no reason given why, toilet locked,they thought someone was inside, for nearly 2 hours?Noisy people and kids shrieking, won't be going back any time soon.

Very disappointed on my early morning call to my regular branch yesterday the 7th March 2022. Unfortunately it wasn't open at its usual time which I found strange as its always open bang on time. I went without my morning drink on my way to work, later to find out from a work colleague and public members the person opening didn't arrive till 8.oo o'clock! Surely its imperative to clock on to your duties on time.

went in for a coffee with a friend, got served by a lovely young lady called Dani, she was very attentive & was very easy to talk to. got my super fast & my toastie was banging. let her know she was great. thank you Dani!

Would've liked better service to be honest, went in for a flat white and something to eat was waiting about 10 minutes as the staff seemed more interested in there phones, hoping for a better service next time I visit.

I came in recently with a friend on a quiet Monday afternoon for a drink and catch-up. I’ve been in a few times previously and normally I have no complaints and the guys behind the bar are friendly. However it’s been about 9/10 months since I’ve been in this particular store and was really disappointed with the service. Was served by a very rude girl, she was standing by the till on her phone and seemed more interested in her screen then serving me and it took her colleague pointing us out for her to look up. She then proceeded to talk loudly to her colleague who didn’t seem to want to listen to her as much as us as he was focusing on cleaning something behind the counter. She walked past the table next to us which was full of empty cups singing very loudly whilst the man she was working with seemed to be doing most of the work. The drink itself I can’t fault and was up to the normal costa standard just a shame this young girl didn’t seem very interested in working and let the costa name down. Thank you to the gentlemen also working as he welcomed us with a friendly smile and hello and made sure to thank us and say goodbye as we were leaving.

Visited this store this lunch time,for a bite to eat,as its nice and quiet.picked up what we needed to eat and queued for our drinks order.while waiting I noticed the cake counter was virtually empty,and hadn't been topped up,also there were 3 members of staff behind the counter that didn't have a clue what they were doing.the girl at the till was standing with her hands in her trouser pockets and not making eye contact with customers,and the other 2 were trying to make coffees.after seeing this I put my food back and walked out.i expect more from a costa shop.this is disgusting.

Not the best Costa in the local area but a great place to get a Cappuccino and a Bacon Roll. Would recommend for this only, not brilliant customer service, the workers here to loud and obnoxious.

It has to be said the two guys Dan and Chris that have been working together in this Costa branch for the last couple of years make this place! So friendly, kind, place always immaculate, best service, always go above and beyond, absolutely faultless, well done guys, keep up the excellent work

Visited today 3rd Dec with a colleague to find two young gentlemen working in this branch. I'm not local but felt I had to comment on their hard work and happy faces and very helpful ways, clean and tidy there too. Very happy visit,

Nice meeting place and great coffee

Staff members behind the counter spent more time flirting with each other than actually doing their job the toilet had no soap in it no toilet roll the sanitising dispenser was empty when they finally filled up the soap in the toilets they use sanitizer instead of soap and they still did not fill up the sanitiser dispenser More interested in each other and flirting than actually looking after their customers More Importantly the young gentleman who had to fill up the soap dispenser in the toilets Returned immediately li2 behind the counter to help make drinks without washing his hands This is not only against food safety but this is just pure disgusting

Awful. Two young members of staff just chatting. Tables full of crocks and dirty. Dirty loos, no soap. The girl working there sang loudly and totally tunelessly for the half hour we were there. Couldn’t wait to drink our coffee and leave. When will Costa...

Been using Costa in Sandwich for years, through changes of staff, renovations and technical problems all of the staff are very customer focused, polite and personable.

Regular customers here ordered four drinks and later asked for a fifth we was looked at as if we weren’t wanted their and as if it was all to much trouble extremely poor customer service. 18/09/21

Coffee was good, table was dirty.

My experience of this store was that it wasn't as well managed as other Costa I've used in the past. They initially gave me the wrong coffee, even though I was the only customer. Then gave me the wrong size ordered, which was just warm. These are just basic mistakes. The store itself was clean and nicely presented as are most Costa stores. Staff didn't communicate very well - based on this occasion only.

Stopped by for coffee with my wife , the coffee was very nice, no customers in the restaurant, seating was outside. Would most probably return after restrictions have been lifted

A lunchtime stop off for sandwiches and cake,and while service was slow it was well prepared for Covid precautions. Prices as always were a bit high, but the quality was good, and the seats outside were comfy.

Good service but had to walk back to the main door passed the waiting queue to get out, yet, there's a door opposite the till but locked which doesn't make sense in keeping distances.

You know what you get from a Costa outlet, so always reliable, if maybe a bit samey these days. Staff doing well trying to maintain social distancing in a small store, so looking like they were a bit frazzled.

Obviously I go to costa for the coffee and as always it was good to the taste. This café in the centre of the village is easy to find and has inside and outside seating. The baristas’ should go and see another branch at work....

Not particularly clean or warm ,down at heal perhaps best description. Coffee and biscuits were ok however.

This is my local costa coffee shop and I love coming here for my coffee and the extremely friendly staff!! Who even when very busy are very polite and always smiling. I believe it’s the staff at coffee shops who make it a place you want to come and the staff here definitely do that!! Amazing customer service, amazing staff and amazing coffee :))))))
