Jamaican street food at amazing prices. Ruby, the barmaid offered a great welcome and was on hand to iffer advice about the awesome food. The chef's were receptive to food intolerance issues and a coctail, two starters and two mains came in at around £50. I cannot recommend this highly enough.

So I decided to try the food at the Port Arms with a few of my trini friends and their partners The starters were great especially the salt fish fritters and wings. This made me and my friends look forward to the main well truly disappointed tasted pre cooked really dry my partner has reloaded mac and cheese with port jeez u could choke on the damn thing Rice and peas definately not cooked fresh that day...come now chef truly letting West Indian food down we paid £53 pound a couple off course we left a tip for the hard working bar staff. Total waste of money for mains and truly disappointed only reason we ate it because we were hungry My friend husband had the goat well what can I say ...Over cook and dry definately not fresh posdoblu defrosted and warmed up he left most of it. Tun up fowl chicken dry gave the dog most of it ...I hate paying for poor food.

Had a brilliant Friday night here. Arrived 6:45 pm for a amazing meal from there Caribbean menu (soul kitchen) and ended up leaving at 12:30am! The young lady behind the bar lea was amazing! She basically served all night at a packed bar as the other team member took table orders and delivered the dishes from the kitchen. Live Music plays here Friday-Sunday plus karaoke on Thursday's. Average drink prices here for Deal. Great location and the biggest outside shared seating area in deal. Foods typical pub grub and there can be a bit of a wait for food as it can get very busy, especially on a Sunday as there's live music in the square right next to it that start 3pm every summer Sunday (weather permitting). Also theres live music inside on the evening and karaoke on a Saturday night. Not the cheapest drinks in deal but great for drinking in the sun on the seafront.

Nice place on the seafront, good atmosphere and the live music a nice touch on a warm sunny day. We ordered a seafood platter and it really wasn't to my liking sadly. I think the pub was quite busy so perhaps the food was rushed, as every seemed to taste the same. The prawns seems very undercooked and the calamari was tasteless and tough, the so called skin on fries weren't too great either. We left most of the food, so were rather disappointed, as we had been on an 11 mile hike from Dover and were famished. All in all a nice pub, but as others have said, a bit messy but worth popping in for a drink and if you are going to eat, have a look at what others are having, as the sea food platter made me for a short time, not want to see food.

Poor service, expensive and litter in the outside seating area. Went in tonight and asked for a Cabernet Sauvignon, charged an eye-watering £10 for a glass. When I was given a glass of bog-standard WHITE wine the young barman said it was because he didn't have what I wanted. So he just fobbed me off with any old drink! I said he should have told me first, but I don't think he agreed. He then said he wouldn't charge me for the drink, promptly changing his mind and reducing his offer to the difference between the price I paid and the price of the Malbec he replaced it with. Very generous! Outside seating is in a nice location, however it's let down by large, open black bins overflowing with rubbish and lots more on the floor. Nice location but some attention to detail and training is definitely needed here.

We had the sea-food platter and it was OK. My parents traveled hours to come to Deal and we wish we had sea-food somewhere else. We know other businesses that do lovely sea-food however they weren't open round 3pm so we came here and sat outside. It was all deep fried, and probably frozen. I wish it was all fresh. The barman had an attitude, young lad with blonde hair especially. The decor was nice and modern. We moved to Deal recently and we've been to a lot of local places, but not sure if we will come back here again as the attitude was very off putting.

Location is great but food was awful, the menu is fairly limited and we ordered whitebait which they had run out of, so suggested calamari instead, which wasn't even on the menu, when it came it was grey, rubbery and pretty in edible. I ordered chicken wings which were burnt so dry and again in edible. At no point did anyone ask us if our meals were OK. The staff are trying but too few of them as is often the case. But the man serving the carvery was a rude nasty piece of work and it’s put me off coming to this place again which is a shame because the food was delicious. We came in here as we were due to go to the kings head to celebrate our friends anniversary but the rugby was on so the Kings head suggested we eat at its sister pub for the quiet. Unfortunately my friends steak was not cooked as requested and was very sinewy which put her off eating it. My husband had asked for no veg with his pie....and got a plate full of veg ! And my cheesecake (which sadly was not homemade) came with ice cream and I'd asked for cream. 🤢 Everything was carried , uncovered (!) , from the Kings Arms to the port Arms...and where as they did deduct the steak we felt the evening, sadly, was not as it should have been. The dj came in at 6 to set up his set, to start at 9 !!! And tables were being moved around us which made us feel awkward. He then was playing / testing it really quite loud to the point we couldn't hear ourselves talk ! Sadly, we will not return. What should have been a special evening for our friends....was not.

Booked this for Sunday lunch during our visit to Deal. We had the Carvery and it was excellent. Tender meat, vegetables excellent, just right seasoning, could not fault it. Not the overcooked presentation you get at others, even parsnips were perfect, crispy on outside and soft inside. Roast spuds to die for. Very pleasant staff, attention to detail and am confident this place will succeed. New owners certainly have got a winning combination, good food, location (right on seafront) plenty of seating inside and out and very good value for money. Would highly recommend.

Had a fantastic meal! Had the steak and we was told it was supplied from Preston Butchers.. guess where our next meat order is coming from! Proper dinner and fairly priced! They don't do ale on draught, but understand why. Just ask. Kids were more than welcome to play on the play equipment outside and not sure why people would say otherwise! More than enough signs saying please be respectful with regards to age appropriate. Owners more than friendly, helpful and went out of their way to make us welcome Current owners been there over 12 years, must be doing something right despite the few bad reviews in my opinion . Give this place a go. You wont be disappointed.
