Had a fantastic meal! Had the steak and we was told it was supplied from Preston Butchers.. guess where our next meat order is coming from! Proper dinner and fairly priced! They don't do ale on draught, but understand why. Just ask. Kids were more than welcome to play on the play equipment outside and not sure why people would say otherwise! More than enough signs saying please be respectful with regards to age appropriate. Owners more than friendly, helpful and went out of their way to make us welcome Current owners been there over 12 years, must be doing something right despite the few bad reviews in my opinion . Give this place a go. You wont be disappointed.

Popped in for a drink after Wingham on mother's day. Didn't look open so our friend went in ahead to check and were told kids were welcome. They are not. Although it was very cold, as there is no room inside we let the kids run about in the garden whilst we got drinks. Big mistake, it's like a private garden and the toys there only for private use. When I went to ask the kids what they wanted my youngest was ordered out of a ride in car and it was put away causing the owners grandson to cry. Now he was a bit too big for it and would have happily left it alone no problem if asked. Then a few minutes later whilst I was out supervising someone banged on the Window and shouted for them to get off the slide. They weren't doing anything wrong and I thought that was very rude to bang on windows and shout at children. They're not teenagers smashing bottles around, they're kids. Overall it s like going round to a family party where the kids can't touch anything. Really uncomfortable. Shame as it looks like it could be really great. I heard the loos were disgusting 🤢

What a great afternoon. Everyone worked so hard. Thank you. The bands played some great music, loved the atmosphere. Sitting in the sun with a glass of something cold and crisp.

We visited this pub for a meal a while ago, two items on the menu that we wanted were not available. There were builders in at the time who were hammering and drilling to modify a fireplace. No apologies for the awful noise and the meal was below average. fit a

Quite an unusual place. When we came in for dinner they seemed somewhat surprised to have guests. However, once we were made comfortable they really made us very comfortable indeed. The bar food was excellent.

Stayed locally to this pub as we wanted somewhere that we could eat at after a long days sightseeing - when you look at there web site they do food every day and a children's menu , er, wrong, they don't do food at all , only for events !!!!!! I went in there for a pint this evening and .......... They don't have chilled beer as the chiller stopped working 3 days ago and has not been fixed , people who run these pubs are the first to moan if a weather spoons appears but is was almost as if they couldn't be bothered, pubs like this deserve to go out of business so the pubs that do make an effort have more market share , no wonder the car park looked empty

This is a no nonsense pub. - It doesn't claim to be a gourmet experience or wine buff's paradise. The staff are really friendly, there's a good range of drinks and the food is value for money, decent 'Pub Grub'. It's also very reasonably priced.

An empty car park and empty pub should have been warning enough but hey in we went. Only stopped for a quick lunch as was visiting my parents in Ash nearby. I haven't been in this place for about 18 years and now I know why. The whole places looks tired and it's evident that the owners either have lost interest or can't afford to do what obviously needs sorting out. The food itself is poor. Some might argue that because it is cheap you "get what you pay for" which I partly agree with but I still expect something with a flavour and to be honest will not be returning. Can't see this place ever getting any better without an overhaul. I just don't get these places. Lovely are and all the space you could wish for. Could open a lovely restaurant and be the talk of the area but no, rather be a run down boozer with cr@p food and no customers. Up to them! Drive on by people .... keep on driving.

The finest ham,egg and chips ever. Two for £10....handcut chips cooked to golden perfection, eggs fried gently, not crispy. No unwarranted sophistication just great service and good value nosh. Will repeat if passing again.

Amazing Food, Amazing Atmosphere.... After reading other reviews was slightly put off... HOWEVER... Not sure where the problem lays with some people as went there today and had top nosh and the place was clean. No issues in regards to cleanliness... 5 star food hygiene did it for me! Lasagne was better than the hubby's! Seemed to be a family as the barmaid was calling the other two ''mum and dad'' Had a list of upcoming events and I will be attending the next event they have on 6th Dec.. Also.... 2 Meals for £10 or sunday lunch for £7.50-£11.50?? Well Done Frog and Orange

After a few times of going for lunch and dinner, I myself can not fault the friendly service cleanliness and food which tastes very good and you get your money's worth if not more, relaxing by a lit fireplace on a cold day is my idea of a good one, I now spend every Sunday here having my lunch, I am not a drinker but having listened to other customers who frequent here they give praise to the cleanliness of the pumps and how clean they are giving a nice pint, I would highly recommend this family run establishment to anyone, I have eaten in many places in my life and never thought about writing reviews before, but credit where credit is due

I think it is a pity the pub are not using their outside space and making the approach and outside more appealing, When inside it was a bit better but there was no loo roll and the loo hadn't been cleaned and that was off putting when one might want to eat there.

A morning's birding with friends meant we were looking forward to a nice pub lunch and I headed off in search of one of my favourites and took a wrong turning... when I realised where I was I recalled having driven past a pub so looked out for and found the Frog & Orange at Shatterling between Wingam and Sandwich. We pulled into an empty carpark in convoy and sent in an advanced party to make sure the pub was open... it was, although we were the only patrons, and no-one else turned up during our time there. The friendly landlady explained that while they did food and could do us something she had been let down by a delivery and so half a dozen things on the menu were not options. There wasn't too much choice left and for this non-meat eater Scampi and Chips was all there was to be had. Maggie went for a burger and Sue decide on a baguette with melted cheese.Service was pretty quick and there was nothing about the meal to berate but nor was there much to praise. As I ate mine I eyed Sue's with envy as the word which pretty well summed up the whole experience was... BLAND.The girls worried between ordering and eating what the kitchen was like as, frankly, the ladies toilet was not clean and rather smelly. In fact there is a rather unpleasant odour at the entrance we used which was partly masked by some sort of perfume but the mix was in itself rather unpleasant giving a sweet cloying covering to an underlying 'sewery' smell.I don't know what it was and didn't ask, but it was off-putting. I hope this is a temporary glitch and the delivery etc. was not typical. I guess I'd give them another chance but can't see myself rushing back either... if I had faced the same problem I think I would have shut the pub and put up a sign of apology while getting things sorted out and the smell tracked down and eliminated!

On recommendation went to this pub for lunch. It was a cold day and no fires were lit nor was the central heating on. Everybody was sitting with their coats on. Barmaid when questioned by another stated "it's on a timer", change the timer then love, no warmth from her either. Food rather typical poor quality pub grub at good quality restaurant lunch prices. Sub standard and my husbands mushy peas so hot could not eat for ages, too long in the microwave, but at least gave out some warmth. Only positive was that the beer was good. My husband did visit the lavatory, again shoddy and poor quality and cold. He bumped into Captain Oats, we wondered where he had go to!

I visited with a friend on a Thursday lunchtime. We both thought the menu was very varied and there were options for all budgets. In the end we only had a main course which was so filling we just couldn't find room for dessert! If you knew us you would know how much we love dessert! For the 2 of us, one course and a drink each, it cost less than £23 which we thought was really good value. If you are in the vicinity, give it a try.

Stayed here for a family wedding. Lovely venue with nice outside space. I was staying in the courtyard room, I was sad that unlike the main house the bathroom wasn't as fancy with a rolltop bath and for the price of the room expected toiletries to be somewhat better than a large pump action bottle. Breakfast was included but baked beans were an extra surcharge which for a full English I would think was as standard from my experience.

Jamaican street food at amazing prices. Ruby, the barmaid offered a great welcome and was on hand to iffer advice about the awesome food. The chef's were receptive to food intolerance issues and a coctail, two starters and two mains came in at around £50. I cannot recommend this highly enough.

The shabbiest Costa that I have ever been in. All the chairs have rips, holes or stains. With so much competition they need to sort this.

It's was clean and tidy. Staff very polite. Prices on the other hand, not good. £4.80 for a can of orange and a bottle of water. Very expensive.
