I ordered medium ribeye and was served something else and well done Got replacement that was fine It wasn’t very busy, so many empty not clean tables looked strange Overall classic pub and good value

Grim Dark 09.00 in the morning and Dovers finest collection of toothless inbred benefit dependant near do Wells are sprawled inside & outside in the sun guzzling weatherspoons finest selection of cheap beer uncontrollable feral brats can be seen running around inside occasionally kept in check with the odd shout of " Mercedes Tyrone " get here your foods cold a dark not very welcoming place staff are ok happy to chat and provide good service the food itself is nothing to write home about usual luke warm uninteresting offering I'd say avoid it if possible it's cheap and that's the only good thing about it

Is this the friendliest Wetherspoons? Certainly the friendliest I've ever been to. What a great bunch of people. Even got asked if all was OK? Building exterior was far better than the inside but there were features such as the 8 bells. Quick service, hot food and a lovely sticky toffee pudding with a great portion of ice cream. Although the price of tea/coffee has risen over time, hasn't everything, it is still the best value I've ever come across and the fact everything has a decaf alternative is a big bonus, one in the eye McDonalds.

Delicious fish and chips with the whole family + a drink. £40 for 5 people! You can't find it for that in the Netherlands! Good food in a real English pub! Recommended!

Cheap beer and cheap food is always a bonus, great meeting place for Dover locals, the various real ales are always changing and being updated which attracts a lot of real ale drinkers to the place!

The staff are always helpful and friendly, atmosphere is always good too.

Beautiful pub with many advantages, e.g. the large selection of beers, they even have Leffe on tap. Plus the usual large selection of food. But what's really great is that it's not the usual blaring music that's playing here, but rather none at all. This results in the rare case that you can have a conversation without writing to someone. Unreserved recommendation.

New experience having to go to the bar to order. The food was delivered to our numbered table hot and tasty. We had the small fish & chips. Had to go to self serve cubby for tartar sauce etc.

Been to a lot Wetherspoons and The Eight Bells is one of the best if not the best, I live in wales and every now and again we go to dover and we spent most of the time in the eight bells in the evenings and had a fabulous time, lovely meals and great service and atmosphere, will be going again 💯% 👍.

The staff at The Eight Bells posted a bag I left in the pub to London free of charge with next day delivery. I couldn’t be more thankful for these wonderful kind souls. Absolute legends. Thank you so much 🙏

Normally a great pub and would be at least 4 stars, based on my previous visits.However I was very disappointed today both the med salad or basic side salad wasunavailable on Steak club Tuesday.Many tables needed clearing and cleaning at 5 pm.A lot of food was dropped on the carpet near meand still there when I left.The wi fi was very slow but to be fair when it finally worked and speed of drinks to the table was okay.

Great staff, quick table service via app orders. It was full pack because one of the busiest pubs in Dover. Friendly atmosphere. Bit noisy but all depend on your mood how you get it. Like traditional interior look.

Visited here after a day at Dover Castle. The food was lovely, prices excellent and the service top notch. One of the best spoons been to.

I found that the the regulars get served quicker than others but the meal was nice but tight with the chips but all in all nice

You get kicked out if you complain about your food! Not just you, but everyone that you are with.

Lovely place but very busy when we went .Long wait at the bar faster ordering via the app.

Stopped by with the family to get a full English. The food was delivered quickly and was delicious to the end. The eggs perfection, bacon crispy, hashbrowns not soggy and not too many beans. The bar girl was so nice and helpful, really made the place feel more welcoming and knew her stuff about the menue items.

First time visiting "the 8 bells" didn't realise how big it was, staff were very polite and helpful, the meal was good and you get any drink in the price, company was good as well. Good time 🍻🍺

Having ventured in two weeks ago for a lukewarm large Full English breakfast I decided to test the consistency and return for a second round. I have to confess this time was better - the food was hot and fresh, providing excellent value for money coming in at under £8 with endless refills of lattes. I noted some very minor scruples - only three tabs of butter (as opposed to four last time) and no tomato (I think venues opt out of providing this notoriously difficult to get right option). The staff were excellent,friendly and efficient. The atmosphere was fairly genteel, the TV was merrily lighting up one corner, whilst the occasional impromptu belch emanated from denizens of the booths. Keep it up spoons you are brilliant VFM!

All the staff are lovely they all work there socks off. Really good with the customers and all the food is nice.

Average restaurant and nothing special about it. My friend ordered burger 🍔 and it was very small and clearly frozen and not fresh. I ordered the small size pizza 🍕it was ok. No Tabasco sauce which’s very strange on the same-level restaurants. Chairs are not so comfortable, tables are not clean, we had to clean it ourselves!! I would not recommend going to it if you have the choice to somewhere else. We were visiting on Sunday, maybe that’s the reason we did have so many options.

It's a wethies but great staff and the food ok

The Pizza was horrible. I don't like it sloppy. But this one was like crisp bread with burned vegetables on it. Very disappointed. Normally I say something but we were in a rush, so I didn't complain. The best pizza at Wetherspoons I ever had was in Blackpool Seaside. Nothing came near this one. I can't really recommend a pizza at Wetherspoons anyway. Pizza is for Pizza Restaurants 🍕 Sadly the staff never read the bits you take out or into your order. No recommendation here!

The bar is very good. Beer is good too.

Really nice traditional English pub atmosphere with reasonably friendly service. The food was ok, nothing special, but I wouldn’t have any problems eating there again. The pepper signs indicating spiciness should be taken with a grain of salt. I had the madras curry, which has four pepper signs, and I wouldn’t have known it was meant to be spicy otherwise.

What a lovely Wetherspoons.. The staff were super friendly, attentive, talkative, polite and very nice. (Especially, the man and woman behind the bar, who I think said they had known each other 9 years) they were so welcoming, to the point before heading home we had to return for another drink. We were so surprised to see a pint of Doom Bar for £2.10 and free refill Tea/Coffee for £1.04. The ladies toilets were up a couple of stairs and clean. The overall bar was clean and as with most Spoons a little dark inside. The bar was clean with a great display of drinks. There were some great pictures and frames etc on the walls. We also tried the new Mozart White Chocolate Cream Liqueur.. totally recommend this drink. All in all a lovely Wetherspoons, we would definitely visit if back in the area. The ales poured & settled well and tasted great. We could not have asked for more.

Nice location,food is fantastic

Very noisy on the Saturday I visited and filled with rather young people who clearly weren't used to drinking! The food was ahem, middle of the road, but the table service was fabulous.

A good environment for cold or sunny days.

Do NOT accept £50 notes here. Absolute shambles. Was told after ordering at the bar that £50 notes were no longer accepted in any Wetherspoons in the UK. Odd that 3 days ago in Deal, Kent, 8 miles away from this branch, that they had no problem accepting my hard earned currency. Shame on you Wetherspoons. Please stop treating us all like criminals. Some of us work hard for our money rather than illegally printing it.

It's like most of the weatherspoons nice place and the service is great. I use the app and it does the job so no need to wait at the bar

Good local pub vibe. Not too noisy despite being like 3 quarters full. Great Fish and Chips. Got to the table within 15mins.

Very quick service and friendly staff. The only downside was the meat in my mixed grill. They really should've equipped me with a chainsaw instead of a steak knife !!

Horrible service , the waiter didnt even listen to what we orderd so one person didnt get there food until after we ate because we had to order again for here , 1 drink was missing ( had toborder that again ) my steak was uneatble my steak was like shoeleather so didnt eat more then 2 bites , the sauce was cold , waste of money and time will never come here again

It was too good and too good. The atmosphere is typical of English pubs, I loved it. In the back room it is good for children there is less noise and slot machines. I highly recommend 👍 The meat was succulent, the fries too, the atmosphere was warm. I recommend, especially in winter, to warm up.bye.

The most depressing WS I have ever visited was not very welcoming with several customers standing around smoking outside then once inside it was like a dungeon so DARK not very nice at all staff very polite Definitely will not return

I was wondering why all of the pubs in Dover were empty when I got to wetherspoons I realised where everyone was m excellent food service and beers delivered directly to the table. I enjoyed the chicken curry

Good food, had breakfast. Nice and hot. Excellent prices. Was not as busy in there today managed to find a table. Service was excellent . Everyone friendly. Toilets spotless. Coffee is such a bargain, limitless. If you haven't been, I can't understand why. They do vegan and vegetarian also. All good.

Dirty tables that took ages to clear cutlery grubby once we decided what to eat went to the bar and told they couldn't do the burgers we wanted as the machine wasn't working. Half an hour wait for the food we did decide on. Uncleared tables everywhere

The only caveat is the lack of electrical sockets available to guests. We were returning from the cliffs after several kilometers of walking and my phone was also "starving" and I couldn't charge it.

It is a wetherspoons, the food and drink is the same as any other spoons although the locals that frequent this hole could do with shower and a change of clothes 🙈

That is one place in the neighbourhood where you can get nice offers on drinks and food. The menu also includes Indian curries and other bar food. The Wetherspoon app ordering functionality is simply hassle free!

A typical WS pub. Can hardly complain at £1.90 a pint can you? Friendly atmosphere but some dodgy looking characters in evidence as well.

Great pub. Friendly staff and dig friendly, too. Minimal £10 spend using a card, so bring cash if you only want one pint. Nice outdoor space, front and back. No food generally, to order, but free bar food on Sundays, I believe.

Worst food I've had in years. Bought the gourmet Beyond meat Vegan burger. Presentation was non existent. The pattie was skinny, dry and flat. Not much flavour either. No sauce. Limp lettuce. Horrible chips. Couldn't eat them! Only ate the burger as I was so hungry. Absolutely disappointing especially if non Vegans try this and assume all Vegan Burgers/ food is the same as that! We definitely will not return. Service was friendly and didn't take long. Place is dingy and dirty and just so unappealing. It may be inexpensive but I didn't expect cheap and nasty. Do better Wetherspoons. This was a disgrace.

Without a doubt the worse spoons breakfast wrap I’ve ever had.. leaving it a mere ok rather than delicious. Hashbrowns were cremated and very greasy. Also the new coffee machine that claims to serve a range of cold coffees dribbles out what can only be described as disappointingly tepid. Spoons, cheap and cheerful- served with disappointment. Happy days

A phenomenal restaurant with great staff delivering the food, sometimes the wait is worth when it's quite busy but none-the-less I've never had a bad experience whenever me and some friends stayed for a while. I love the traditional interior look and the general atmosphere, and i keep going back for it.

Attended as part of a group, all who were spending plenty of money. Mega unfriendly welcome and service and made it clear they didn't want us there. Will never spend a penny there again

Disappointed with my meal. I ordered the spicy chicken & it was full of little bones. I have this meal a lot at other Wetherspoons & it is usually so much better. Maybe it's a one off. I liked the pub even though the tables & seating areas were littered. Lots of haggard looking locals dragging out their drinks to keep out of the cold when we visited. Would happily go back though.

Went there at 22:30 pm close at midnight, got a pint after finishing work, went to get another one and was told last bell has sounded. I then watched as two guys were serviced after I was told no more. I had just finished work! Absolutely animal, ridiculous service, you should be ashamed of yourself!
