So disappointed, I don't go to town very often but wanted to sit in a chilled place and treat myself with a good coffee after my shopping. 2.30 afternoon, weekday Only 6 tables were occupied, so very quiet. On every other table were left over cups and plates and other crockery and cutlery, messy tables. Three young staff on,standing behind quiet counter, who were more interested in gassing. My coffee was handed over sideways whilst talking to other staff, just shoving it over without looking at me over a counter that was full of previous coffee splashes. Card payments only, which is a shame. Electric opener for main door wasn't working ( but no apology sign), wheelchair lady had to ask another customer for assistance. As I did not want to clear a table to sit down, I chose the 'bar' at the window...not quite the luxury I hoped to have...besides a really nice coffee ( for that price its the least to be expected) ...but in hindsight, I should have asked for takeaway cup and sat more comfortable in my car. Many more coffee shops around that appreciate their customers.

First time having breakfast here. Very good espresso and friendly service in a pleasant cafe area. Very disappointing scrambled egg on toast. Once slice of cold toast (which made it chewy) with a decidedly rubbery, solid lump of scrambled egg. It was lukewarm and was not freshly made; I suspect it had been done in the microwave and left to congeal. Not sure what eggs were used, but soft, warm and yellowy it was not! It was quite orangey and had no taste of eggs and a rubbery texture. Not a £5 meal; I could definitely have got something much tastier for less in town...Not a cafe to be recommended for food.

Decided to visit Sainsburys cafe for lunch as we were having some time in Ely. We were 3rd in the queue and gave our order after just a few minutes wait. The young man took our order for 2 meals and a child's meal very efficiently. He made 2 coffees and we sat down. Our food was delivered within 10 minutes. I enjoyed the All Day Breakfast, it was very good and the others cleared their plates! I consider that we had good value for money and would happily return.

WHEN THE STAFF HAVE TIME TO CHAT THEY ARE HAPPY TO DO SO , The food is good , good helpings , not enough staff on duty to keep tables clear , it would help if people took their used crockery on it's tray back to the cash point when they have finished their meals , ,some do but most don't , if you are lucky enough you might have the brother and sister serve you up a meal , other staff in the café are mostly related to each other, Mother is in charge , her daughters also work there , they are locals , very friendly atmosphere . We go once a fortnight usually , some of the staff will remember their regulars .

Overpriced & undervalued as customers. Visited for a 16th birthday with immediate family. Food overpriced, soft drinks overpriced, and as the service charge is automatically added, the service was complacent at best. £22.50 for a roast with 2.5 potatoes, 2 bits of fatty beef. Hardly any veg, horseradish & gravy is strong. £4.50 for Diet Coke out off a gun is pricey. My son’s burger was £18.50 where the portion size was sparse at best is excessive. Had into ask for table water that came warm, had to ask for glasses for it, then had to ask for ice twice & eventually get up to the bar ourselves. It wasn’t that busy either. The waitress was taking plates from the table while starters and mains were still being eaten, we never got a thank you or smile from her either. In fairness the original girl was full of smiles but she disappeared. A man did allow a candle (we provided) into our £7.50 biscuit with one scoop of ice cream for the birthday boy. Food was tasty, it just was massively overpriced and the whole thing was rather underwhelming as a dining experience. Tbh we expected better for nearly £200 and not even 3 courses for everyone

Went here for lunch but disappointed that they had absolutely nothing for vegans apart from soya milk for coffee/tea.

nice staff, food okay, cheap and open when we needed them when staying in the travelodge. staff friendly one day, the next day a really grumpy lady who didnt want to be there. no sausages on saturday and no bacon on a sunday!... pretty rubbish when you are offering limited breakfast options already to not actually have the ingredients on offer as advertised above your heads on the boards.. poor management or poor forward planning, or maybe both.

waited ages to be seated, had to then go order at bar as no-one came to table, food took forever to arrive and then didn't see a staff member after that point. Starters were good, main meals were appalling, not only over or undercooked, completely unseasoned and really quite tasteless. I have never left a steak uneaten until now. The only good thing about all the mains was that they were warm. If that had been my first visit I would not return. Food has always been ok here, and staff have always been friendly and attentive in past so not sure what's happened to change that. Barman was good though

Oh dear! Not a great experience at this new diner. They had no idea about customer service, nobody tells you that you are supposed to order at the bar, the food arrived in stages and was very mediocre and luke warm (not the ‘amazing’ burgers we were expecting), we had to ask for cutlery and condiments. Lots of improvements need to be made to this business if it’s going to survive - send in Gordon Ramsey?! It could be a great diner but sadly it’s not at the moment. Really disappointing experience so I won’t be going back.

So disappointed. Popped in for a takeaway coffee. £3.44 for a decaf soya cappuccino and a half full cup. Waited 15 mins as 3 staff served one customer. Will now use our independent coffee shops where the customer is valued and the coffee doesn’t cost so much

This cafe wins the prize for rudest customer service in my whole lifetime. There is no excuse for rudeness I understand they might have had a bad day but no need to take it out on customers especially as my husband had just died, quite upsetting for them to be so unwelcoming. We will stick to Flagstones such a different experience

Food not particularly good and the free childs food offered with adult order wouldn't be enough to feed a mouse. Just 3 small items.

Food is below average but the worse bit is the service . Very unfriendly and makes you feel really unwelcome
