Morrisons Cafe in Watford

Ordered on their new self service checkout. We ordered poached egg on toast, and porridge with honey as well as two pots of tea. The restaurant wasn’t busy at all, maybe 8 tables and us, yet we still waited almost 20 minutes before the food came out. (You sort out the drinks yourself) The food was literally dropped on the table and went to leave. My partner asked if he could have sauce and a couple of sachets were almost thrown at him. The porridge had no honey, so I asked the staff member who said it was already in the bowl. It wasn’t, so I went to the counter and asked for it. The man didn’t even know where the honey was kept. When I got back to the table my partner was eating his poached eggs. They were so overdone it looked like they had put hard boiled eggs minus the shells on his toast. It was obviously understaffed but surely anyone can poach a couple of eggs? The whole point of the self service is that you sit down and your meal is brought to you. Great in theory - terrible in practice.

This was a last minute thing. As we were staying at the Premier Inn went here for our breakfast. Friendly staff but have to say the breakfast was warmish. Not hot at all, the reastaurant was not busy so could not understand they could have taken their time with the food.

Touch screen booking system is very slow. Options take too long to edit- then it asks for a table number which is a pain because the console is outside the entrance. Food is ok but can be cold. Busy times mean messy tables.

Staff were rude and very unhelpful. Visited when was not busy. Went to pay for coffees and cake. Staff refused to let me pay. Kept telling me to place order on screen. But i was trying to pay not order. Waited for 10 mins, tgen im afraid i walked out.

I and a friend have been eating at Watford Morrisons Cafe every Friday for several years and have always been very satisfied with the menu and quality of food. But since the new menu was introduced some months ago the experience has declined significantly. Gone are the old favourites like sausages with chips and beans, scampi, hunters chicken etc. You now have to place your order via a computer terminal - the first question is "table number" so you leave the terminal to wander into the seating area to find an empty table then return to the terminal to find someone else is placing their order. Having spent ages trying to enter your order, you go to the table you entered on the terminal only to find someone else sitting there. Service is slow and food prices have increased compared with the previous menu. No longer an enjoyable experience!

Very tasty food which was served quickly and was hot. Service was friendly and helpful. Would happily return if was always like this! Good provision for social distancing etc. After lots of previous disappointing visits to cafes at various Morrison’s this was much much improved and had discount too!

An excellent value for money breakfast, served in a safe and secure environment with professionalism during these difficult times. Well done to all the staff.

Went for breakfast with friends and was quite good value. Big breakfast good tea/ coffee extra but can have as many as you like. Food not piping hot but acceptable. The venue itself was comfortable with a choice of table &chairs, bench seats or comfy chairs. Would definitely go again.

Decided to have a bite to eat here rather than having to cook back at home after shopping,Service was good,food was nice,staff were friendly.Unfortunately cafeteria floor and some chairs were dirty with food and paper over floor,we took a bit of time to settle on a table,and chairs were too close to each other,could not sit down without people on next table having to move .We did enjoy our meal,but would have preferred a cleaner dining area

Lovely fresh food - a rather long wait of about 45 minutes though for a breakfast. You would have thought they would have had some things ready to go but it was worth the wait as it was tasty and good value for money.

Went in here to get some shopping for a bbq we were invited to and stopped in there cafe for breakfast was nice and fresh and a good price

Morrisons - watfordThink management needs to come in and look at food safety/hygiene .. as the tea pots and all utensils are really dirty and disgusting! I would hate to know the state of the kitchen and how things are being kept :(Waited 35mins for big breakfast..they clearly forgot about us as people after us got their food.. had to send toast back as it was cold.. left the Scambled egg as also cold.... so not impressed.. other morrisons cafes have been fineI did mention to a member of staff about the dirty tea pots etc and got blank stare back...

We ordered our food via the screen. We then waited ages to be served our drinks. Even though staff was around, they noticed us but didn't say anything. We then just took our drinks & sat down without paying for them. We waited about 45minutes for our jacket potatoes that tasted absolutley rank! The staff was so rude too. We normally like to pop in before or after we do our shopping. But we will have to stop that now. very dissapointing

Just had to wait for 50 minutes for a cheese and onion toastie. Was on the verg of asking for my money back.

Great coffee albeit from a machine. There was a wide selection of food and a nice seating area. Recommended.

Been here a few times , nice friendly place , very relaxed , usually have a snack but breakfasts are also good

Often go with my children after shopping. Friendly staff and good portion sizes. We always enjoy a sandwich and drink here. Daughter loves the cupcakes!

Popped in this morning for a coffee ahead of a meeting. Lovely greeting at the small cafe - Polish (I think) man serving coffee. Lovely coffee and very good standard of service - politely offered to carry my coffee to my table. I observed him being polite and courteous to other customers. Higher standard than I have experienced at high street chains. I hope he is rewarded by his manager.
