Starbucks in Colchester

It’s good. Like as a college student it’s just outside the college. However, this might be petty but I’m always missing something from my order whether it be a sauce in my food or just some simple whipped cream in my hot chocolate or the syrup actually being in my hot chocolate either don’t know how they don’t understand to take customers orders properly it really confuses me.

So disappointed, I don't go to town very often but wanted to sit in a chilled place and treat myself with a good coffee after my shopping. 2.30 afternoon, weekday Only 6 tables were occupied, so very quiet. On every other table were left over cups and plates and other crockery and cutlery, messy tables. Three young staff on,standing behind quiet counter, who were more interested in gassing. My coffee was handed over sideways whilst talking to other staff, just shoving it over without looking at me over a counter that was full of previous coffee splashes. Card payments only, which is a shame. Electric opener for main door wasn't working ( but no apology sign), wheelchair lady had to ask another customer for assistance. As I did not want to clear a table to sit down, I chose the 'bar' at the window...not quite the luxury I hoped to have...besides a really nice coffee ( for that price its the least to be expected) ...but in hindsight, I should have asked for takeaway cup and sat more comfortable in my car. Many more coffee shops around that appreciate their customers.

This is our second visit here and it will be our last. First time approx 18 months ago and had the worst coffee ever. This time round we had tea which was acceptable. Breakfast wrap was disgusting and almost inedible. The panini was just about ok. The whole place looked shabby and dirty. Tables and chairs needed cleaning and the floor looked like it hadn’t been cleaned for a while. Come on Starbucks think you need to up your game.

Most Awful Latte I have had in a long time! I would put a throwong up empoji £4.15 and threw it down the sink!! back to costa!!!

Sorry to say this was probably the worst coffee I've had anywhere in Colchester. Rather watery and tasteless and the froth on my capuccino was about 3mm thick and had dissolved within a couple of minutes. Very disappointing. Worth a 5 minute walk to go somewhere else.

Slow slow slow slow is all I can say Came here with niece and wife, ask for two coffee and refresher drink. Took 15 mins to get the refresher, shop was not busy Very poor

I hope I've got the right star bucks we visited the one in colchester stanway at 18:00 and as usual very quick service and very friendly service, especially was a very nice lady who served us, very friendly and bubbly she had long black hair and couple of tattoos on her arm she was very knowledgeable too. Overall I drove away being a happy customer and great coffee to I tried the pumpkin spice frappechino it was lush!! I hope your lovely lady gets rewarded as its always nice to get pleasant service especially coming through a drive threw. Many thanks Liam c

Painfully slow service, waited 10 mins at the drive through to place my order, staff very unhelpful. Then waited another 10 mins at the window whilst staff idled about talking to each other rather than serving customers. I asked 3 different members of staff when I would get my coffee and sandwich, each time I got a mumbled responce 'its just coming'. I asked to see the person in charge and after about 5 mins a women came over and told me there was a shift changed and needed to change over the tills. I explained that I had been waiting (at that point) 15 mins, my coffee then arrived but it took another 5 mins to get my sandwich. Just unacceptable time taken, mumbling staff with no urgency whatsoever.

Saw a member of staff picking his teeth before picking up cups by the lids and putting on to tray ready to take out to customers. YUCK. Put me off Starbucks for life.

I went for a training session in my gym which was across the road from starbucks. When i finished i fancied a coffee at starbucks all i had was a £10 note went to buy a coffee and was told sorry we don't accept cash. Why are the not accepting cash? If they are scarred of touching money because of covid then where rubber gloves. I had to leave rather annoyed.

Really what has happened to the Starbucks I have eaten in all over the world. Dirty tables crumbs all over seats no sign of anyone wiping chairs let alone tables. Expensive prices. Have to accept new way of doing things but come on keep Your once very good standards up. Have to say though member of staff who served me was efficient and very pleasant. One ray of sunshine in an otherwise dark loud gloomy atmosphere.

I visited this franchise to enjoy a lovely coffee with my fellow peers. Half way through enjoying our drinks, a Greek guy who I assume is the manager aggressively marched over and randomly started checking our paper cups. He insisted we pull out our phones and do the track and trace in front of him even though we have already done it. I volunteered to write my name down AGAIN but apparently he only lets 70/80 year olds do it on paper, the younger generation ‘ must do it on the app’. He went on to say we are breaking the law and ‘he’s not even British and he even follows the law’ (all while his mask is around his chin) He then told us he is calling the police because we didn’t listen to his orders and do the track and trace for the third time that day! Absolute embarrassment to the establishment. No customer should have to deal with idiots like him who take advantage of there powers as a staff member and wasting polices time. We left in disgust. We are frequent users of this Starbucks and can say all the other staff are delightful apart from that jobs worth.

So this was first visit and I was so surprised by the warm welcome from the servers, Jack and Izzy who were happy and welcoming and genuinely polite and helpful. They advised on the drinks, I tried something new to me and the standard of service was impressive. Such nice young people, clean environment and helpful to make a new choice. I will be coming back, management should know that IZZY and Jack are very good members of their team.

Visited for a coffee whilst having an informal business meeting. Service was a little slow but acceptable. Coffee was good and the new blonde roast is an improvement on the original coffee. Think the prices are on the expensive side.

No oat milk ? No chocolate chips ? And no gingerbread syrup ? I think they had milk and coffee .... the frap was way too tight they should of put less ice in as the almond milk was thick. No service with a smile the team looked stressed ! We went to till gate and wow that was worse. We should of gone to culver st west branch ! Lesson learnt.

I visited this Starbucks on Saturday 8th and my experience was poor. They overfilled the cup not allowing any room for milk. The milk was empty when I went to put some in. I asked them for a cup to pour some coffee out and a male assistant quickly and I feel rudely told me I had to pay 5p. I objected so he offered to tip some away! Before then suggesting I have a mug (which wasn’t chargeable) this he could have suggested before giving me bad service. The place was unclean several tables weren’t cleaned or wiped down. I won’t be visiting again!

Have visited several times and always frustrated with the speed of service. However on this occasion we visited around 12.30 had panini and tea rather than coffee and service was excellent. Our panini was ready in the time it took to collect our tea and pay. Keep this up Starbucks.

Visited for lunch today and food and drink was very good. What lets this place down is the service it is soooooo slow. We didn't arrive until just gone 2 there was 4 people serving no one in front of us but about 3 people waiting for thier drink. It took around 20 minutes to get our panini and drinks just way to slow.

I'm a freelance business writer and I find Thise Starbucks a great place to work or to have meetings. The staff are always friendly and welcoming. Most of them know me by name now and certainly know my regular order. In also a very convenient location. Only downside in 2 hour limit on parking but thats not their fault!

I visited with a group of friends, completely forgot my re-fillable coffee cup and was amazed a week later to find they still had it! Combination of great service and healthy food options available, I love it here! Plus I can bring my dog.... only downside is free parking is time limited and on same visit I overstayed so ended up paying a parking fine.

Beautiful little coffee shop located near Matalan. Staff are wonderful always smiling and polite.. always feel welcome and happy to be here. Great coffee!

Very nice building; coffee etc. But got a parking ticket having been to Matalan etc. and then had lunch with friends. An extremely expensive shopping outing. Not worth the expensive parking ticket. Won't bother next time.Surely this should be reviewed ? Don't you want people to stay and spend money with you?

Food and drink was as expected no problem. Last time I visited service was very very slow but on this occasion much better and more in line with what you would expect. Nice addition to the retail park.

I always think when a new branded place is opened you get to see their current thinking on how they want to portray themselves. This new Starbucks shows the company has honed its offering. This is far more like the ones I visit abroad- spacious, clean and welcoming service. Lots of different kinds of seating to cater for all. Oh and of course a lovely filter coffee and cinnamon swirl!

I come here a couple of times a week and it is such a nice place with a lovely relaxed atmosphere.

This Starbucks has just been built at the retail park with Matalan, Maplin and other shops which is handy.

Visited for lunch panini was very nice as was the coffee, good price. Only grumble is the way they serve the coffee why can't the person who serves you just make the coffee rather than one person making them all and it taking so long.

Visited with a colleague for lunch. It is a new establishment so was very clean and tidy. It was not as busy as I expected it to be given the college is very close which was good! The panini and coffee were good as was the service. Would return.
