We found a hair in food wrapped around the chicken for what the manager blamed rudely on us. Then the cook whose hair matched the one we found came and sat at the end of the table. It wouldn’t have been as big of a deal if the manager had been polite but to lie and blame us was not on

My daughter has a severe peanut allergy and she is very nervous eating out because of it. The staff here were really helpful explaining that they are a nut free restaurant, her food was prepared and cooked separately, and every precaution was taken to keep my daughter safe. Thank you for making lunch with my daughter a really enjoyable experience. She can't wait to come back!

Our first ever Wagamamas for an Anniversary treat was very disappointing. We ordered a delivery 4 miles out of town. Delivered on an electric push bike but arrived cold. Food tasted like it had been cooked from frozen. Poor quality. Supermarket ready meals would have been equal but much cheaper. Sweet pastey sweet duck gyoza was disgusting and katsu tasted like chip shop curry sauce. All a bit yuck sadly.

Andrew was so polite so attentive whilst Danielle was so kind and thoughtful both made our experience incredible really pleased with our time Thankyou both so much for looking after us 🫶

Booked in for bottomless brunch- first of all we were stood at the front for over 15 minutes and no one came over to say hello or help- my mother in law had to go over to someone in the end to find out where we needed to be- once we were told to go upstairs we were directed to our table- we were a party of 4 and directed to a tall table with stalls- one of our party has back issues and expressed that she’d have difficulty getting on and off the chairs- at this point there was only one other table in. We asked if we could be moved to a lower table due to my friend having back issues- we were told this was not possible as we were a table of 4 and the other table was for a party of 3- the table of 3 would be sat at a table of 4 so no idea what difference it makes for a party of 3 to sit at a tall table instead of a small table? I question whether if my friend had a more visible disability whether more would have been done to accommodate us? Something to think about? Waitress was on it when it came to keeping our drinks topped up and the food was lovely! I ordered the avocado and poached eggs- I was expecting the avocado to be smashed with the poached egg on top but it was sliced on one side of the bread with the poached egg on the other- but it still tasted lovely- the rest of the party enjoyed there food too- would go back but maybe next time request a shorter table so my friend could be more comfortable

Me and my friends came here after we got our gcse results, a woman called teresa took our orders and was kind enough to give us 2 portions of gyoza for free. Food was great, atmosphere was great

Food was good, ordered the vegan k-dogs and kare burosu ramen with silken tofu, both were great. The iced strawberry matcha latte was also very good. The only downside was that my partners food arrived 10 minutes before mine did. But this seems to be a wagamama thing.

We had the absolute delight of being served by Rocco this evening. He was absolutely brilliant, as was all the staff we interacted with, but my wife asked Rocco what he would recommend on the menu and she ordered his recommendation which was absolutely delicious! He was chatty and attentive and honestly, we were blown away by the service.

Looking for a good value lunch deal we saw Slug & Lettuce did a sandwich/burger/lite bite and a drink for £8. I had a chicken and bacon sandwich and a sparkling mineral water and it came with skinny fries. Served on focaccia - it was piping hot and very tasty. My son had a steak sandwich which was equally tasty. Service friendly and efficient. Highly recommended. We will definitely be back. We decided to have coffees and share a dessert afterwards (waffle bites). Coffee was good - and hot (hate lukewarm warm coffee). All in all a great experience!

An absolutely wonderful experience in Colchester Wagamama yesterday lunch time. The service from Ella was exceptional and the food was made with love, the dishes were tasty, bold & flavoursome and cooked to perfection. I took my friend in who has never had the pleasure of trying Wagamama and she is completely converted. She had the classic Katsu Curry and I had the Coconut Kare with firecracker Rice and we shared chicken Yakatori's for a side dish - it was so yummy!!!! You can tell the restaurant is run efficiently as the food was super speedy and satisfied our hungry bellies at lunch time. 5 star experience. The picture doesn't even do the food justice as we were eager to tuck in. Thank you for a gorgeous meal, we will be back 🫶🏼

We had takeaway a grilled chicken ramen today around1430hrs which had no stew and completely dry. It’s made me so embarrassed in front of my wife as I was taken for her as she likes. The service man was so nice.

Such a nice restaurant and lovely friendly staff. Went there today as a treat for my husband’s birthday. Great food and a surprise slice of birthday cheesecake too. So very kind of staff. Great wheelchair friendly toilet area.

Natasha was so very helpful, professional and patient with my parents, very knowledge re to gluten-free and menu. Very enjoyable meal, Lovely Ambience, Who could wish for more.

My best friend and I catch up every month and always go for dinner. We stumbled across Wagamama this month, ashamedly neither of us have been before. We were unsure on the ordering process, so we asked our server Kat, Kat was so helpful and explained how things worked and recommended dishes for us to try. The food was well cooked and served in a timely fashion, thank you to you all for a fantastic evening.

Food was excellent and prices were reasonable

My partner got sick after eating his main dish. We both shared appetisers which were ok, but his main meal was off and he has been struggling with stomach issues for the past 3 days. We will not be going back there again and Wagamama in general, which is very unfortunate because it was one of our favourite places .

My wife and I had our wedding anniversary dinner here, and it was the first time we'd been to a Wagamama restaurant. For starters we had the mixed mushroom buns, hoisin pulled duck buns and the chilli squid. These were delicious, flavoursome and a good portion side - I was surprised by the amount of squid we got. My preference was the duck buns and my wife was torn between the squid and the mushroom buns. I would have liked a sweet chilli sauce for the squid. Our mains consisted of 4/5 possibilities and we opted to share the grilled duck donburi and the new marinated chicken thigh coconut kare. Both meals tasted so fresh and morish and were good portion sizes. I preferred the coconut kare as I like lots of sauce and my wife liked the donburi, saying how tender the duck was and the veg had some crunch to them. A big thumbs up 👍🏼 from us and we'll be visiting again. Definitely recommend this place for fresh, flavoured and light food.

Flavourless “hot pot” ordered from Deliveroo. 2 pieces of tofu and a couple rice cakes for £13. Really disappointing quality and quantity. Arrived as in the picture.

Always impressed with the service here, particularly Rafael. Although it is a chain, I feel like wagamama is one of the better ones and the Colchester branch seems to keep things running perfectly. Really enjoy that the menu changes regularly. Particularly like the chilli margarita at the moment!

Came in today with a friend the service was lovely! The waitresses were so nice but there was a string of fluff or something off someone’s clothes in my food (it was in the breaded chicken and rice) and im too polite to say anything so i picked it out. It did put me off, but this has never happened to me before. Everything else was lovely though! Obviously this can’t always be helped. I’m not mad, I would still go again 🤣

A warm welcome from Teresa who was friendly and knowledgeable. I had spicy miso mackerel, which was a generous portion and tasty. The one thing that I dislike about Wagamama is that courses don't come out together. I had half eaten my main before my companion received theirs, and they had finished their dessert before I had received mine. It's a bit like eating on your own. It was a quiet Monday evening, so not like they were rushed. Had the same experience in another town. I don't expect to go again.

Served me raw chicken in a takeaway

First time going to Wagamama and I will definately be going again. We had Rose pettle lemonade for drinks which were lovely with the smell of rose. The whole meal was beautiful but the wok fried greens were on another level. The teryaki chicken donburi is a must have, the chicken was soft and flavoursom while the rice covered in some of the sauce was the best rice ive eaten. The rest were great but these 2 stuck out the most out of what we had. And the price was great too, the mrs thought we spent £102, when we only spent £69, for 2 mains, and 4 sides, we shared the lot between us to taste as much as we could, highly reccommend going to Wagamamas.

Love Wagamama we come often but this one experience was really disappointing. When we ordered we was told we would be brought water, we then got most of our food apart from one as they had to make it again but as we got the dish there was a very long hair within the sauce of the katsu curry. As one who doesn’t like to complain I took it out and ate around where it was. When we went to pay we had been charged for the water that was left untouched as we didn’t ask for it, they did end up taking one off the bill but as we had brought up this to the waiter he spoke back to us very patronising and rude and that is the reasoning for me writing this review as we have never had a bad experience in the past but this was truly the worst I’ve ever experienced anywhere.

Booked a table for six on a Saturday night, and we're well treated and looked after. The food was excellent and served at a good pace. Lots of time to chat but not having to hang around too much. Reasonable value for money and a great lively atmosphere.

The food is ok, There were 14 of us, but it was busy, and there were delays with getting plates in the table. The atmosphere was good. But noodles is noodles at the end of the day.

Enjoyed an excellent meal with my son here last week. Very friendly and welcoming staff and a warm and comfortable eating environment. The food was hot, tasty and very well presented. The squid was a particularly welcome treat and all washed down with a cold beer or two. This was a very enjoyable evening. Like most restaurants these days, it’s not cheap but it was well worth it and we will be back I’m sure. Thanks!

We stopped in here on an unbooked Saturday evening looking for somewhere to have a light dinner. Seated quickly and order taken within a few minutes. Great food. The vegan k-dogs were delicious and crunchy. Definitely recommend these. The bang bang cauliflower did not disappoint, smokey, sweet, and packed a serious punch. The yakitori skewers were sweet, sticky and delicious. Absolutely recommend eating here, staff were friendly and attentive.

Had a wonderful experience at bottomless brunch today! We started at 3pm and the servers Misty and Marcus were brilliant. They made us aware of when our time had started and allowed us to order more drinks when we wanted. Had a lovely afternoon/evening and definitely got our moneys worth! The food was awesome too! Beautiful, chill vibe place with friends. We were 8 friends went out for birthday dinner and I have really enjoyed myself. Lights, food, service, washroom hygiene, everything is great about this place.

Went for lunch and will not go back. Had a bad experience previously at another slug and lettuce and this has confirmed it’s not just a one off with this chain. I had the English breakfast. The bacon was undercooked and flabby, the sausages were cold and I think the worst part was that when I asked for my toasted granary roll to be buttered they said ‘we can’t do that’ !?!? My other half order the eggs waffle. Far too sweet and gave her an upset stomach for the rest of the day. NEVER AGAIN!

It seemed very inviting from the branding and the decor , right on the high street in Colchester , was the reason we decided to try it .. the beer was average , the apple mojitos great .. In food the Vegan nachos is something I will go back for .. but the teriyaki tofu salad left much to be desired . The battered fish goujons were great too ..

We came here for bottemless brunch and it did not dissapoint!!! Maddie and Chloe were so attentive to us, we never had to wait for drinks and they were so lovely with service. Food was also 10/10 would absolutely recommend the chicken burger. Cannot wait to come back soon.

disgusting! its my own fault though i knew I shouldnt have orderd from here but i had no other option as north hill noodle bar were not taking orderds! cheap af noodles with instastant borth and disgusting soggy pork and some tinned vegetables actually ridicioulsly disgusted with the food.

Was pleasantly surprised with the warm and inviting atmosphere here. The staff are all really friendly and professional, will answer any questions you have and will listen to you to give informed recommendations. Music is at a good volume to provide background ambience but not too much to make it hard to hear your party. Food is fresh, well prepared and very tasty. A very good selection on the menu to suit all taste buds and healthy smoothies to make you feel good :) Happy to recommend and will definitely be coming back!

First time ever visiting a wagamama today. Have to say, I'm very impressed! Service was amazing. Teresa was our waitress, and she was lovely and on the ball. The food was so fresh and with us within 10 minutes! Loved that you can watch your food being prepared also. Couldn't have asked for a better first experience. Xx

Very slow with one of the meals.

I found the food to be very nice, half the seating was benches the other half backless stools. The staff were very attentive, we had a named waitress, but as far a I could tell, this was irrelevant as all the staff seemed to be there, at the same level. As for cost, it was very expensive for what we had and the type of place.

Just great food , friendly service and drinks do tasty

We went in there for a quick drink and just to people watch. Drinks pretty poor and no bitter beer at all. Customers mainly young but having a good time which I think is most important but for someone older it would be too loud, brash and tacky. But the youngster were having fun and the food and drinks menu reflected that clientele. Avoid if you are over 25.

Very, very slow service unfortunately. After our starter we waited more than 15 minutes for dishes to be cleared and weren't asked if we wanted mains or dessert. We had to track down a server to order mains. Green tea took 15 more minutes to arrive after reminding a server then 4 arrived as it was put through twice. A salad was ordered that I've now been waiting more than 20 minutes for (and counting) after having to correct an error. Very VERY disappointed in this branch after having amazing service at others. If my salad isn't here in the next 5 minutes, I'm leaving and seeking a refund. Abysmal. Edit: well, the salad arrived but I very quickly realised that some of the salad leaves were rotten leading me to suspect they had come from a contaminated batch. I refused to eat it and also refused an offer of vouchers as we had already paid and a scathing review, in my opinion, holds more weight than a pay off. There was one member of staff worth their weight in gold who couldn't be more apologetic but his name doesn't deserve to be attached to a bad review. So very dissapointed in this branch, slow service, no chance of upselling, huge queue waiting for tables and blocking exit. I cant help feeling if they tried a little harder to clear tables and ask customers if there's anything else they require they could turn tables far quicker than 90mins. Add to that the rotten salad and you guys have had a truly bad day. Hopefully you can do better in future and stop mistakes leaving the kitchen.
