Think I'm addicted to the Karaage Sticky Chicken 🤣🤣

Food was awesome, went for the roast beef which I highly recommend. Staff are all so friendly, Connor on bar was super kind as per and Rhiain who was running food was super friendly and smiley! Me and my wife will definitely be returning again to see the team and try more!!!

Lovely pub! Came last Saturday with a couple mates and the atmosphere was great. We were particularly impressed by one of the young servers, Rhiain, who was a great help. Will be returning soon!

The food was very tasty but sadly the portions didn't cover the plate. We waited a long time for the meals to arrive. Asked for additional gravy and was told there was a charge (not something I've experienced elsewhere). By the time it arrived we had finished our meal and the gravy was cold. We definitely picked the wrong place for a Sunday roast.

Lively pub with a great atmosphere and a good choice of beers. Friendly staff and tasty food. Garden at rear of pub is a great way to spend an afternoon or evening. Food menu is great value. Recommend the mushroom chilli.

Shocking experience booked a table for 11. Ordered food, took an age to arrive. When it came all the roast dinners were cold and had to be returned. Not enough cutlery even for those whose meals were edible. Had to go back to the bar for new meals to be ordered and the inadequate ones removed. Despite the under par first effort there was no urgency to rectify the problems. No offer if discount or a drink to compensate for the issues. My nephew in a wheelchair and there was a large step to navigate even by though the pub was notified that we needed an accessible table before arrival. Beer was ok but staff were slow and unwelcoming. Not even an apology. 10th August 2024 Needless to say I emailed the address as requested by the page owner and didn't been even get a reply! 🙈 Took another star off my review.

It was ok, but the Sunday Roast did not compare to other places, dry, and not that tasty. Otherwise OK, but got too busy and had to leave because they put on Football which makes it the worst pub, any pub that shows Football loses my custom as they hate people and encourage violence and alcoholism by showing Football.

Had an amazing time on Sunday Got treated to some good old fashioned service from Jodi ,Izzy and ayshia the Sunday roast was beautiful I highly recommend it and the atmosphere is pumped awaiting the England match later thank you kings arms for a great afternoon … now let’s go n win tonight to round off a perfect day all the best …..ant

Disappointingly the bread used to make the sandwiches was stale.

Jodie is brilliant. She offers an amazing, friendly and welcoming atmosphere. All the staff are polite, friendly and professional.

It was my first visit in a few years and it was a fab sunny afternoon location for a catch up with old work friends. Had forgotten how big the beer garden is! Staff were all really friendly and speedy, was enjoying the 90s / 2000s music too! :)

Went for lunch with my partner, brother and his friend, three of us ordered the steak sandwich and one halloumi wrap. We waited over an hour for the food to arrive which came cold and the chips that came were laughable, 6 chips on one plate!!. The waitress asked if we would like anything else with our meal, which we responded "some cutlery would be good" there's no attention to detail and service is abysmal. But the food was disappointing. Avoid at all costs, such a shame as it's very pretty inside and out, oh well won't be back.

Great night out with fab food and really reasonably priced! Sticky toffee pudding was amazing! Pub was busy with a lovely atmosphere and Vicky and the girls had us laughing all night.

This place is just lovely. Good was well priced and well cooked. Drinks were served cold and were extremely refreshing. Our server Vicky was wonderful. Nothing was too much trouble

avoid at all costs came for a sunday roast, waited an hour for food. when it finally arrived had no apology for the wait and the food was even more disappointing. the entire plate was cold food apart from the chicken, the potatoes were rubbery and the cauliflower cheese was completely dry didn’t end up touching any of the food. wouldn’t recommend even for a dogs dinner.

Toilets are and have been disgusting for years Don’t understand why it’s acceptable??? Nice staff and all, but I couldn’t give confidential feedback so had to use this platform to tell them they need to do something with their damn toilets… it’s been over a decade!!! Probably 2!

Friendly staff, cosy room with nice quality fixtures and fittings, comfy bed, clean and stylish bathroom and shower area, plus Blaupunkt free view tv, super fast WiFi, tea and coffee facilities, great view from window and exceptional value. Dinner and drink was delicious, so was the full English breakfast. Stayed at Premier Inn previous night with Beefeater menu - and this small village pub is so much better and cheaper too. Ideal place to stay … Highly recommended.

Nice outdoor area. Dog friendly and decent food. New menu with tapas style food and portions are big and tasty! Nice selection of beers and ciders on tap and for summer it's an amazing and large suntrap.

Just had a drink, slow service at bar, volume on speakers drowned out conversation.

I had my leaving drinks in there the other day and it was consistently busy which shows its popularity but it did make it very difficult to have a conversation without shouting and seemed to take a while to get a drink even though 3 members of staff were on. Other than that, it's one of the nicest pubs in town that offer a good range of drinks and offers plenty of seating for the size that it is.

This is a great pub with a wide choice of different drinks. Lovely beer garden to enjoy a nice cool cider on a warm summers day! We didn't have food yesterday, but have had food there in the past and it has never disappointed us.

The kings arms is brilliant for a really nice glass of wine and the atmosphere is lovely. Their portions of chips for £3+ are hilarious though!

We sought shelter from the pounding rain at Kings Arms, craving not just refreshment but a taste of something... more. Amidst the torrents outside, we found ourselves drawn to the allure of the bar, where Jody and Izzy tantalizingly catered to our every desire.

Absolutely fabulous service by Jodie, so attentive. Went above and beyond 👍🏻 was so thoughtful and her experience showed through.

Me and my thruple come to this pub 4 days a week, to enjoy 12pints each served by the lovely Jodie, Izzy & Luke. They are outstanding at there job and deserve the biggest ballooon! Anna on the other hand does not deserve a balloon. This pub has a great beer garden! And has great customers that are in the garden every Thursday from 6:30pm. Feel free to join us:).

Jodi and her team helped me to throw a brilliant leaving party for a dear friend and colleague. Jodi was incredibly flexible and accommodating and we all enjoyed a wonderful hot buffet, reserved seating area and Rock n Roll bingo. The team couldn’t do enough for us. We love celebrating special occasions at the Kings Arms and we’ll be back!

So we booked table for 8 people to be told on arrival that 75% of the menu was NOT available......but I could have a burger without a bun🤬

My partner and I with our dog Buddy have been coming here every Sunday for the last 2 years . We regularly come to events when they have bands playing on bank holidays. This place is excellent very dog friendly all the staff love Buddy . All the staff are so friendly and helpful the food is so nice always hot and very tasty . Centh the manager and his wife Jodie are such lovely people. Connor is amazing such a lovely lad very helpful and friendly we have a great relationship built up over the past 2 years. Anna , izzy and Lexi are lovely young ladies so nice and very friendly and helpful. We can’t fault this place staff food atmosphere all incredibly. Buddy absolutely loves having his burgers every Sunday and we will continue to come here for many years to come . We had Angies birthday party celebration here last year and they catered for 30 people perfectly. Keep it up guys Love you all Buddy Simon & Angie

Met with a group of friends for lunch and a drink. The staff - Jodi and Josie - were friendly, efficient and made us feel very welcome. Good choice of lunch - especially the lunch deal - and drinks were reasonable. Will definitely book again.

Hi Kings Arms, I just want to give a massive shout out to a wonderful Staff member who goes by the name of Lexie. I have just learnt that she will be sailing away on an swash buckling adventure very shortly, very exciting for twinkle toes herself but a massive massive loss to all who frequent the amazing Kings Arms. Lexie smile is a delight whenever you are greeted at the bar and her customer service is the best there is. I witness this every time i am there she is eager to please all customers and just cannot do enough for us all. I will definitely miss her wild way of thinking thats for sure , Good Luck Lexie for the Future!!!!!

Had a wonderful afternoon in the kings Arms in Colchester , wonderful service from Conor and Kent ,very attentive and couldn't have done enough for me and my visit .I must recommend the Mac n Cheese a tasty little treat ,it was rather delicious .....the garden is an epic pub garden the decor is stylish and the tunes playing through the pu. was immense,a great afternoon spent in glorious surroundings I'll be back for sure ,you must frequent this hidden treasure of the pub world

Just popped into the Kings Arms for a couple of pints like I often do and I’d just like to give all the staff there the recognition they deserve for always being friendly and super efficient. Thank you.

Having lived near The Kings Arms and having drunk at the pub for over 20 years, I was denied service for the first time in my life this evening. I was with my partner (a teacher) and his brother (a nurse) and I went to order our third drink of the evening only to be told my the bar staff, Jodie, that she thought we’d had ‘too many’. Having never encountered this before in 49 years, I concluded it was because my partner and his brother are Black. I believe it is important to name racism for what it is and I will not drink at this pub again. I encourage anyone who cares about racial equality not to drink here either.

Popped in for the lunch deal (£10 for a meal and soft drink), ordered the Club Sandwich… it was tiny and the chicken was chopped up into a mulch. Effectively paid £8 for a mini sandwich with some salad leaves, not exactly value for money.

Took advantage of the lunchtime offer, had cheese and bacon burger with a pint of Neckoil for £12. Came out in good time and was a very good burger. Everyone else in my group enjoyed thier food too

Great free quiz nights on Tuesday’s and really friendly staff, best of all it’s dog friendly. Would thoroughly recommend a visit.

Pleasant environment with excellent and helpful staff. Beers can be pricey these days but an excellent range of craft beers. Nice pint of neck oil (Beavertown) too. Enjoy.

Was a whistle stop visit after a day of Christmas shopping. Only had a drink and then we were off. Not much time to get a feel for the place. However, quite a few people eating around 4pm and most seemed to visit regularly.

Service was impecable, food was outstanding and loved the atmosphere. Would definitely return.

The kings arms colchester is a lovely pub we have been going here for years. It has a great pub quiz every tuesday and music bingo every Thursday. The staff are friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend.

Food here was unbelievably rubbish. It was never fancy, but it always was decent and good portion size. The meal we just had was shocking. Everything seemed like it had been cooked about two weeks ago. I’ve never seen such a stingy portion of peas. Two pathetic little undercooked onion rings were just offensive. If someone’s got a gun to your head and is forcing you to eat here, the least bad option was scampi.

Initially, I felt excitement and tension approaching the venue. This is a venue I’ve used before so I already held a certain respect and anticipation for what was to come. I was, at first, feeling mixed emotions between satisfaction and utter disbelief, but the dinner (pre booked Christmas meal with 4+week notice) was almost exceptionally bad. An absolute overhaul of carrots (which were delicious by the way) but not much else. We suffered from an absolute limitation on potatoes, Yorkshires and Stuffing, so incredibly so, that between us as a work force, we were unable to enjoy a single Yorkshire, or serving of Stuffing between us. Venue was fine, service was spot on, but food was almost comparable to a food bank. For £6.20 a beer, and nearly £100 for a couple of Christmas meals, I expected better, and in all honesty have been a little bemused by the sub standard of food. SD.

One pint of Estrella and one pint of Peroni = £12.65. London prices in Colchester. Church street tavern was 2 pints of Helles for £9.50. Kings Arms - no need for this level of pricing. Won’t return.

I visited the Kings Arms earlier this evening and was greeted by friendly faces from all the staff members, I was served by a young girl named Isobel who could not have been nicer to me and helped me out with some suggestions on what drinks to have. Would definitely recommend and definitely will come again.

Only went for drinks and not food. Nice outdoor area, plenty of seating. Good atmosphere indoors too. Ladies toilets were disappointing, 2 out of 3 out of order, no toilet paper in the 1 working and hand dryer didn't work.

Delicious food, with great staff and great beer

Had a meal with 4 friends here and honestly wished we hadn’t, it was a very quiet Monday and it took over 40 minutes to serve the food, the dishes were hit and miss, the chicken wings were worth it, but the BBQ chicken wasn’t, for the price charged the small tough chicken breast and flavourless bacon swamped in bbq sauce was not worth the price and when my friend queried the portion size had a reply of “ah, it’s just one of those things!” Which isn’t really a helpful answer when you’re not happy with the food. The feast with friends was nice, but not really enough to satisfy 2 as a sharing platter as advertised unfortunately. It’s a nice pub, well lit, clean, quiet easy listening music and friendly staff, but the food let it down.

Great dog friendly pub, with excellent food, the staff were excellent attentive and helpful, the pub quiz on the Tuesday was great fun and very well run. The beer garden is also excellent. Over all a great experience well worth s visit.

Hadn't been there for over 10 years,very glad I did. Refurb is excellent, the garden seating has been hugely expanded and done well.
