Overpriced & undervalued as customers. Visited for a 16th birthday with immediate family. Food overpriced, soft drinks overpriced, and as the service charge is automatically added, the service was complacent at best. £22.50 for a roast with 2.5 potatoes, 2 bits of fatty beef. Hardly any veg, horseradish & gravy is strong. £4.50 for Diet Coke out off a gun is pricey. My son’s burger was £18.50 where the portion size was sparse at best is excessive. Had into ask for table water that came warm, had to ask for glasses for it, then had to ask for ice twice & eventually get up to the bar ourselves. It wasn’t that busy either. The waitress was taking plates from the table while starters and mains were still being eaten, we never got a thank you or smile from her either. In fairness the original girl was full of smiles but she disappeared. A man did allow a candle (we provided) into our £7.50 biscuit with one scoop of ice cream for the birthday boy. Food was tasty, it just was massively overpriced and the whole thing was rather underwhelming as a dining experience. Tbh we expected better for nearly £200 and not even 3 courses for everyone

Our outdoor dining experience at this restaurant was fabulous helped by the sunshine. The food was absolutely delicious with fresh vibrant ingredients and wonderful flavours. We are usually NZ Sauvignon Blanc drinkers but opted for the Muscadet De Sèvre which was delicious and less expensive than the NZ Sauvignon Blanc. The attentive and delightful staff made sure that our time there was nothing short of perfect. Thank you, we will be back!

30th May 2023-We booked a table for 4 to try 2 course lunch menu offered on large banner outside pub Monday to Friday lunchtime we were told “ not available today” no reason! As we were there-Chose from ordinary menu when went to order told to set up a tab meant leaving my credit card behind the till(usual thing is to take a swipe or leave in a secure compartment which you have a key to charge to tab)when ordered told wait for food would be 20minuets which our 4 agreed to but after 45 minutes we asked where food was told another 5 minutes we have had to clean the fryer. The bar we sat in by corner where bridge is absolutely stunk of cigarette smoke when we asked if ok to open a window was told they are all permanently locked but they did open the outside door which improved things. After the long wait for our mains nobody in our group wanted to risk ordering a pudding as it might be mid afternoon before we got it. When we asked for the bill it took a while to locate my card(will have to check bank statements now)was £63.65 which we not expecting when asked for a print out was given a look at the computer (no print out available which stated for 2 x scampi/salad/chips+ fish/chips/peas +Burger with blue cheese+ bowl of chips +1 pint larger shandy & 3 glasses of soda (£2.20 each)water totalled the bill to a ££63.65 we 4 will not be returning to the Red Lion Nash Mills anytime soon plenty of better value/service/places- to eat locally .

Thank you for hosting Pulik in the Pub. Dog friendly pub with massive garden hosted a camping meet up for about 50 Hungarian Puli dogs and their owners. It was a really excellent, if very noisy, event. We ate in restaurant and can recommend the fish and chips and the scampi (first time we’ve had scampi in years)

So much background noise and very poor cooking of our supposed "slow cooked beef " meant that our get together was not a very enjoyable occasion. Also when we asked for our bill it arrived without the food items included and despite trying to get the attention of someone on the team to get it corrected we had to wait for nearly 15 minutes before they ( rather begrudgingly) when away to put it right and without any thanks for our honesty.

With a large group of friends celebrating a milestone birthday. We were staying locally but didn't fancy the hotel bar much so we took a stroll to The Red Lion and it couldn't have gone better. The staff were GREAT - we had a couple of special requests and they couldn't have done more for us. We had a very pleasant evening in the garden. The next time we're in the area we'll definitely be back.

Me and some friends went and let me tell you the service was rubbish. We were ordering drinks, paying for them to then have to ask for our drink that we’ve paid for. We were being offered to buy drinks every 30minutes to an hour, being told, that they are busy when the manager was handing out free drinks to everyone that she knew. Wouldn’t recommend as also the drinks are totally over priced and not worth waiting so long for a drink. It’s also not exactly ‘family friendly’ when everyone is off their faces on dr*** trying to sit on our table when their not part of our bubble with the staff saying nothing.

You can not go past a classic Sunday Roast at the Red Lion. Excellent value for money. Mixed Roast - Beef, Pork Belly, Chicken, Roast Potatoes, Yorkshire Pudding, veg and gravy - 22.50 (pounds). Is the beef deliciously rare - no - but to be fair how can they deliver this on such a large scale - knowing everyone likes their meat cooked differently! It is however a gorgeous (cooked and slaved over by others) plate of well presented, carefully prepared food which at the end of the day you don't even need to wash up! It allows you to eat well, feel saisiated and enjoy the company of those you are with.

At first glance, this pub seemed a lovely family friendly place with pretty, well looked after grounds. Good procedures in place for ordering food and drink given the current climate with Covid. There was a large seating area outside with all benches socially distanced with different areas for entering and exiting the queue for the bar. There were paper menus, sanitising station and our details were taken for track and trace. There were signs at the bar warning customers that if they didn’t adhere to the 1m social distancing rule they would be asked to leave. We were told that there was a function taking place in the marquees at the back of the garden which was absolutely fine, given the size of the outside area. However, the function turned up and myself and my family counted 50 attendees. I appreciate that they were there for a wake, but they were hugging, kissing, shaking hands, no social distancing at all despite all the precautions taken by the pub. Numbers very quickly increased, people were buying drinks and then gathering around the bar area, right near our table. We did move tables so that we were further away from people. Management did not ask them to move to the area at the back of the garden, near the marquees which had been specially cordoned off for them and it had taken several members of staff a lot of time and effort to organise, neither did they ask people to keep more of a distance from other customers who were already present and trying to enjoy a nice meal. No concern for other customers at all and we weren’t the only ones who felt extremely uncomfortable. The main course was of a good quality and arrived promptly but we had to wait a long time for our puddings. We were promised it would be out shortly and after asking twice we gave up and was about to walk out when our puddings arrived, which had clearly been overcooked in the microwave, probably where it had been left to go cold and reheated. Not only were management unprofessional and completely disregarded the safety of the other customers not part of the function, but the young lad bringing the food out was inappropriately dressed for a large group of people celebrating the life of a close friend and family member. Not only this, but when he bought the food to the table he knocked my drink which went flying and we had to pay for a replacement! He definitely needs some lessons in table manners-our food arrived and we were greeted with whose is this meal rather than naming the meal. Reaching over people is not professional, neither is bringing out our food and having to wait another five minutes for cutlery. I’m sure this is usually a lovely pub and like I said it was lovely before the very large function arrived. I am sure that gatherings are currently restricted to 30 and even if they are now slightly higher, 60 is far too many. If the pub were expecting such a large number, they could have closed the pub to the public for a few hours or put a sign outside to warn customers about the planned function as many people feel apprehensive and uncomfortable being so close to such a large group of people given the current situation with Covid. It is still a very real risk, and needs to be taken more seriously. If pubs can’t adhere to the license maybe they shouldn’t open. We had a nice meal but I’m not sure we would return and looking at the reviews on here and on social media, it appears that we aren’t the only customers who feel this way and this isn’t the first time that the management have not taken control of an extremely high-risk situation.

Came in for lunch with family and had great carvery lunch which was excellent value. Choice of 3 meats, loads of veg, sweet potatoes and delicious cauliflower cheese. Dessert was included - berry crumble, really light syrup sponge or chocolate orange brownie. Highly recommend this place!

Witnessed a hate crime against someone nothing was done by the bar staff. Also before I even stepped foot in the garden all I could smell was drugs. Went in the garden and most was smoking drugs. Call yourself a friendly family pub. I don’t think so. I’m my opinion you should be shut down.

Poor clientele management - even with security you are still likely to suffer a serious GBH in the car park after punters being served too much alcohol- this won’t be reported or have the CCTV turned into the local police as licencing suggests - any events attended here should b attended with caution - or ideally not at all

I must start my review specifying that my disappointment is only about the pizza, which is the only thing we ate.I’ve read and heard such good comments about the pizza served in this place that I’ve decided to try it even though I’m Italian and very fussy about “my” food.We ordered a funghi “mushrooms” and burrata pizza. The first was completely covered in mushrooms and some sort of mushroom paste which made the mushroom taste really overwhelming. The burrata pizza was served with the special mozzarella type of cheese fridge cold, swimming in a lake of olive oil on top of the pizza..so much that I literally tipped to one side the pizza base to get rid of the oil.The staff was courteous and the British food looked nice. So, one big advice, if you are italian or like the proper Italian pizza don’t go there!! Keep on going to the usual pizza places scattered in central and greater London.

We got to the restaurant at 12.30. Our food was served at 1.25pm. I would have liked to stay for a pudding, but the rest of our party had to leave at 1.45pm so I couldn't have one. The food was good and the waitress was friendly, but it was a long wait for the food.

Went for lunch with a friend. Place was empty but our order took a long time to come. Staff were surly and not very approachable. Food was basic and overpriced. I just had a cheeseburger with hardly any cheese on it and no relish. Place looked like it could do with a good clean and decorating.

Me and my friend wanted to treat ourselves to a costa after surviving a week at school. Cream was out of date, I paid for a medium and got a small and my friend who got small got medium. I paid for cream and chocolate sauce and got none and there was only 1 staff member available the whole time we were there. This is the second time the cream was out of date and they mixed up and got our orders wrong. 😑 would not recommend if your already having a bad day (I was)

This restaurant is perfect for after a ski lesson. The food and the environment was amazing. Despite there being no Rekorderlig for my husband, I enjoyed a rhubarb gin and lemonade. The staff were very friendly and helpful especially Anisa who we were served by. There were other staff members standing around avoiding work, trying to make jokes with staff on the tills whilst they were serving customers. However it was a brilliant saturday afternoon!

We popped in whilst on a journey in our EV and needed to use the nearby chargers. The bar staff were helpful and chatty, the manager introduced himself to us as he hadn't seen us before and insisted we have some food on the house! When the food came, it was amazing! Due to sensitive stomach issues, I couldn't eat much of the goat curry or jerk chicken but what I did try was lovely and my wife really enjoyed them. If we're in the area again, we have said we're definitely going back.

It is so lovely to see a lovely bakery with items all freshly baked on the premises. The pastry on all their range is amazing, tasty and just the right side of crisp. The fillings are plentiful and delicious. The cake range is eye popping with beautifully balanced ingredients. Lovely rolls and fresh bread. Staff are welcoming and polite and on dry days you can sit outside and watch the day go by. Now, I will talk about the coffee. This unfortunately was a great disappointment. Despite two of us asking for stronger versions, it was to be frank like dishwater. I don't enjoy saying this but I was too embarrassed to say anything at the time. Do not let this distract you from the bakery itself. It is treat to have it on the precinct.
