Costa Coffee in Dacorum

Made my coffee the way I like it. Shop itself rather dark and could do with bit of TLC

Lovely large latte with toast and marmite

We are regulars at Costa in Maylands avenue, the Americano is my Husbands favorite and I enjoy the hot chocolate

What can I say shabby looking restaurant poor customer service staff have got serious attitude towards customer no care whatsoever dirty cups also to boot not cheap so I’d say avoid like the plague plenty more coffee shops in berko deserving your customer won’t be going back

Stood on the queue, got ignored by girl chatting to another member of staff. A guy came in and she attended to him, When I said "excuse me, am I invisible" she was rude back 'i didn't see you' the fact I had been waiting in the queue in front of her the whole time. Then had attitude. Slammed down my cake screwed up. Miserable looking staff, no courtesy or politeness. I don't get out often with my medical condition.

Just been served the most disgusting oak flat white, tasted more of detergent than coffee. Returned the coffee to the server to which I got a blank reply and no apology or offering of a replacement. In such a competitive high street you’d think the coffee and staff training would be better. Won’t be returning to Costa again.

Went in for coffee, at 3.45 no staff on duty, server was sullen, coffee was awful, other person hovering and most seats blocked off. Customers came in after us being told we close at 5 Staff didn’t want to be there. Not good advert fir Costs

me and my friend sat in costa next to tesco and we were sat at the back just quietly eating our food and a worker over the age of 65 came up to us and started harassing us. also throwing hateful speech at us this made us very uncomfortable and ruin our day as we were having a good day we have always done this and this is the first time we have been harassed like this. it has hurt pur feelings and made us feel very upset. you have just lost 2 customers. we will not be coming back unless this lady gets what she deserves this is so horrible and she needs to be disciplined / fired

On 28th December Berkhampstead centre. Obvious lack of care! Shame! (especially when the motto on the wall said "each coffea is a masterpiece"

Pretty typical Costa, you're never going to get great coffee and the staff always appear over worked but if you need that caffeine hit there are far worse at higher prices

The manageress is superb, and some of the staff are great, like Daniel, also the new guy with the curly hair (doesn’t wear a name badge) but there are some that have no right to be customer facing. They appear not to care about service or making great coffee. Staff training could be massively improved and not on paying customers. Minimum 2 week intense training off site maybe?? Oh, and the scanner for the loyalty card is very hit and miss. Get a new scanner for goodness sake.

What a dreadful experience we had here on a Sunday morning. Staff didn’t know what products they had and the service was awful. Not surprised the place was empty - it’s usually rammed.

10,000 steps around ashridge so we stopped for a well deserved break

I really hope this reaches Dan or Daniels manager, I spilt my coffee all over myself and he was the most attentive worker Iv ever come across in Costa across the country. He came and changed my chair offered help and also offered a replacement for the one I had spilt. It made my quite embarrassing experience a not so embarrassing one and he made my day. Thankyou very much Dan!

Yuck. Honest, this is not coffee. I asked for an espresso and was given what could only be described as a swimming pool and that is after i told the girl to stop pouring. Awful. It is not the coffee beans. Its the barista. And if you not have it in you and if you do not understand coffee, find another job. Not just Costa. But this was particularly disgusting.

First time here, great experience, chap serving was knowledgeable about the coffees polite and friendly. Fabulous frostino my first ever recommended if you love creamy cold yummy spoilt drinks and cakes too. Felt safe sitting inside as they are following covid procedures. See you next time we visit the town !

Standard costa. Beware morning rush hour - they don’t take names on orders and the London commuters sometimes take an order ahead of their turn. Cheese and ham toastie is good.

Dirty tables, coffees were good. Take away is best the option due to cleanliness. Nothing more to say, aha - 100 characters minimum met!

Bought 2 large coffee from this store this morning it was froth an absolute disgrace will not be back total rip off !!!!!!

Latta was gross staff didn't no how to make coffee. Couldn't even tell each other correct order

They forgot my order and had to ask me again what I ordered and the person making the coffee still got it all wrong. My wife was not happy at all with this service and we go Costas a lot

I met some friends for lunch and the toilets were awful, filthy, and had a terrible smell! There is something wrong with the hygiene in this coffee establishment .... most of the ones you into have small little sinks , shared toilets and have shocking unpleasant smell!!!

You know exactly what you are getting when you go into a Costa anywhere!!

Unfortunately the Lemon muffins we had at Costa in Berkhamsted was stale, we did get offered another cake that was also not very fresh...coffee was nice though

Good food and friendly staff, this is my go-to place with the family.

We always stop in here when ever we come to town good staff and good coffee 😁. The is no rush to get you out.

The coffee here is consistently good. They do sometimes run low on cakes if you go later in the day. The staff are always friendly.

We are huuuuge fans of our costas in Berko anyway,but have just watched a wonderful member of staff(a young man)treat a lady with special needs so amazingly well that i almost was brought to tears with his kindness.Such a lovely thing to watch,well done costa staff.

I agree with the previous reviewer, things must have changed as the staff were friendly and efficient, the tables were cleared and the coffee was piping hot and very tasty. Extremely pleasant sitting outside in the September sunshine watching the world go by.

Lovely strong but smooth coffee

The staff's attitude was much improved upon our last visit. The Costas coffee was very good and sitting outside in the warm sunshine watching the world go by was a very pleasant experience.

Costa Coffee you know what you are going to get

Busy busy but why do we all continue to go there...I suppose because the coffee is good and the venue is convenient. Which ate about all the pros I can think of. The cons?...This is so like any other Costa...noisy, wait ages in queue for coffee, no clean tables, baristas looking like they would rather be somewhere else, expensive biscuits and cakes..etc. Didn't venture as far as the toilets having had a bad experience some time ago. Think I'll give this a miss for one of the many other indie shops in the town.

Visited for tea, gave my loyalty card to the staff. Looked at receipt and it had not swiped. I didn't have time to complain, to staff, because going to the Rex Cinema.

We had our main meal at the Crown but the service was appalling so we didn't bother with desserts and instead went to Costa for a coffee and a slice of cake. The young lady who served us was very informative, very friendly and helpful.

I like Costa coffee shops. You know what you are getting, wherever you visit. This coffee shop is located in the high street. Not much parking around and the shop can be quite busy at lunchtime. Had to wait for a place to sit down.

The usual everywhere coffee shop. All serve the same menu, but service is quite variable. This site was generally ok.

Coming here most of weekends. Very friendly, hard working and honest staff. They make a good tasting coffee too. Well done!

Staff very busy didn't seem to know which foods in meal deal so tried to overcharge.

I've had coffee from here and to be honest it's average at best. The staff are nice but there are far better options for quality coffee which are within a close walk from here. Shame really as Costa is a big name, I think without the competition things would be much different.

Previously I have said "Best Costa Ever, fantastic and friendly service from lovely helpful staff" now I say - poor service, mistakes on orders, messy tables, long queues - quite simply not enough staff. Edit And now the air con : heating has been out of action for months with no sign of it being fixed.

Very nice place; great staff, atmosphere and food. Good selection of coffee and drinks that are frequently refreshed. Fairly expensive.

Efficient eastern European style front if house service, but not friendly. Hate the new chai tea mix it tastes of maple syrup not chai.

Tualet is in very bad conditions !!! Need some changes #alot#

Nice coffee was served by a young guy called Max he was very polite and informative a credit to Costa good surroundings and clean premises

Not the best made Latte I've ever had the pleasure of drinking, but a nice enough taste, and considering it was half-an-hour before closing the staff were still friendly and accommodating. Toastie was hot & tasty as well.

The staff were hardly what I would call welcoming but the hot chocolate was still very good. The chocolate cake was moist and well flavoured. The experience was spoilt by the staff's attitude which is a shame.

It was the usual Costa set up, spacious inside and outdoor seating. It was nice to see it open post 5pm on a Sunday when everything else is closed. Staff were ok, not as knowledgeable as some of the others we’ve come across but coffee was ok. Don’t even bother going to the toilet there, blocked and smelly! Worth popping in for a take away.

Popped in for a quick coffee and my daughter needed the loo.....it was one of the worst toilets I’ve ever come across....it smelt like imagine the toilet in Train Spotting to smell and not because someone had just been, it is old rancid urine and faeces that has not been cleaned in a long long time. The bowl was filthy, the sink was filthy, the floor was filthy there was paper and wee all over the place. I asked the polite young man serving who is responsible for cleaning them and he said they, the staff were but couldn’t keep up because it was so busy. It was clear this toilet has not been cleaned in months, not just since this morning. I think it is disgusting that such a big company as costa coffee do not pay for professional cleaners, when they charge so much.

Why would you pay an American non tax paying co-op money when you have so many locals making better coffee and paying tax ⁉️⁉️🙄

Just exactly like every other Costa Coffee all over the UK. Slowish service. Bored looking baristas (who can blame them?) . Empty cups left on tables. Noisy. Good coffee.

If this is the Berkhamstead one near Tesco then we were disappointed. It wasn't as busy as normal but it seemed to be a bit chaotic behind the counter. Maybe lots of new staff for the holidays... in which case they should have badges on saying TRAINEE. I had to have my flat white remade. Milk far too hot no coffee taste and milk not as a flat white should be. Very annoying to have to complain in a coffee chain that says it prices itself with its coffee. Hmmmm only some shops in our experience.

Ok coffee but had loads of flies in the shop - bit off putting

This franchised Costa is clean and friendly, but they had no change so it was exact money or card. The guy taking the order hadn't been trained so couldn't tell me what a 'Frostino' off the menu was. A senior colleague came to explain but I'm still not sure.

The foods are very limited, no vegan snacks and only soya on offer not rice milk or hemp milk. No vegan sandwiches either.

Coffee and tea is very good but that place seriously needs a good clean up the floors are in a terrible state the windows are absolutely filthy. Need to up your game.

No complaint about the cappuccino, but I was surprised to find that the pain au raisin I bought wasn't as fresh as usual at branches of Costa. Service was friendly and efficient. This is quite a large unit, so has plenty of seating.

Table are slow to be cleared . Ages to wait to get a cup of tea . Quite often serviced in plastic cups because their washing machine "is broken". Staff are very very complacent. Had enough of this joint . There are loads of other places in berko to go that a far nicer and give more time to customers and also serve in proper vessels

This is a place that with times has deteriorated and needs a new lease of life all round and I am sure after this the whole team would be reinvigorated

This Costa is definitely due an overhaul. Starting to look tatty and the staff can be pretty rude at times.

I always drink latte and never had any problem with the taste or service. However, today I was severved half a glass of froth! Additionally I was served this half frothy latte without a spoon or a tray when I asked for it the lady in the counter acted deaf.

Fairly average Costa. Staff just pushing orders through. It's clean and gets quite busy.

This is convenient and I am guilty of using this coffee spot but I really should take my own advice. It is probably the busiest coffee shop in town but that doesn't make it the best. The door often sticks open which is great in the summer but dreadful in winter if you have a table at the front of the shop. The baristas are so busy that they rarely smile or are polite (perhaps they are supposed to be like this?), they make mistakes and have overcharged. Try getting a refund...!

The best coffee and the service is always very good.

We were enticed in by the board advertising Lindt hot chocolate. Although it is made from powder it was very good. The café itself is a pleasant place to sit and relax although it can get quite crowded and the tables are fairly near to each other.

Very pleasant staff, nice ambience. The coffee is less bitter than the "other" big chain. Good location, close to downtown shopping.

This branch would be ok if the staff actually understood customer service. I think the idea is you have your coffee at the same time as your food, not cook your food let it go cold whilst waiting for your drinks at the counter!

Fed up with waiting so long I this Costa. Always over 10 minutes. This time 14 mins between arriving and getting drink.

Good place for coffee and free WI fi.
