Sainsbury's Cafe in Babergh

Went here for lunch but disappointed that they had absolutely nothing for vegans apart from soya milk for coffee/tea.

I always used to take my mum to the cafe after shopping - had a lot of lovely dishes - after Covid they re-opened with a very limited menu - so go elsewhere now - apparently they are closing all there restaurant down now - it;s sad as the Sudbury one was always popular pre- covid - I will miss the pre-covid restaurant but not whats on offer now - still sad to see it go rather than come back to what it was though

Bit of a limited menu right now - but the food is always good and the staff are lovely. I've never had a bad lunch here - great value for money and usually great selection. Coffee is pretty good and they do a good pot of tea x

Popped in for a light lunch whilst shopping....vegetarian option rubbish so we decided to have the Tomato and Basil Soup with a Roll, went and found a table(which was DIRTY) and it wobbled...the last persons leftovers waiting to be collected. Food delivered by a chirpy server and then when we started our soup it tasted as if it was Tinned Chopped Tomatoes with a bit of Dried Basil in it....left it, the roll and butter were happily eaten ! Tea and coffee were fine !!

My husband and I shop in this Sainsbury’s store and have often had lunch there. There has always been one vegan option which makes it a cafe we can both eat in as he has a larger choice. Yesterday however when we went to order the ‘Katsu curry’ for me, which was still shown on the menu board downstairs, we were told that the menu had just changed and there was no vegan option anymore. How disappointing as the store itself is selling more and more vegan foods. We won’t be eating there again until the menu changes.

Coffee and Cake was very good. Venue a bit of a mess. Tables needed clearing and cleaning. Coffee spilt over some tables. Cake on the floor. Staff could do less time talking and more time clearing up.

Yet again a lovely meal I eat here regularly bigger breakfast was freshly cooked and hot, but still don't understand why some customers bring their own food it is a cafe not a park bench,then take it out on staff when told they can't eat it.The staff are so happy and helpful.

The food was freezing & tasted fresh from a freezer. Didn't eat a thing, my husband moaned the whole time x

Lovely food and service,The ladies could do with more help at busy times as they are usually rushed off their feet but never too busy to smile it's a shame they have to put up with some very rude customers.

Was enjoying a family day out in Sudbury, enjoying some nutritious Thornton's brownies, up until we were publically humiliated by a member of your staff. Not only were we relentlessly shouted at by a waitress impolitely, ensuring that we stood out to other colleagues and customers like a sore thumb, but also directed to a size 12 comic sans sign advising only Sainsbury's cafe food could be consumed within the cafe. This was appalling considering we both suffer with dyslexia. Two regulars LOST. Brownies were good though and discounted to £1.

Extremely busy as usual and staff run off their feet. Why are some members of the public so rude and impatient? Myself and business colleagues visit every day for lunch. Good food cooked to order so we don't mind having to wait longer than 'takeaway' food because it isn't. Can't recommend highly enough.

This is a excellent little cafe. The staff are very helpful, and the place is clean and inviting. The range on the menu is excellent for a cafe, and the prices reflect this. You would go a long way to beat the price, quality, and choice, that this little cafe has to offer. It is a credit to the staff manning the cafe that this little gem of a cafe is doing so well. There are a lot of cafe's in the town but you would go a long way to beat this one. It say's a lot for this cafe by the amount of people using it when i visited it.

Average overpriced food, nothing special, and the service is so slow you could do your weekly shop while your other half queued !

Took my 8 year old daughter for lunch here today. Staff were not welcoming at all. Only two members of staff there. One member of staff, a young lady, seemed to be working entirely on her own, taking orders, payments and making/serving drinks, she was run off her feet, and it showed. I felt bad for her. Another member of staff, was doing nothing, but standing, and moaning very loudly about how they were understaffed, the company was no good to work for, and how she should have been home an hour ago. Ok they may not be happy with their work situation, but a smile and saying hello to a customer goes a long way.

Good selection of food and drinks. I had an Egg Sandwich on Brown Bread which was very tasty. My husband had a Cheese and Tomato Baguette. Lots of filling in both. Teapots leak which makes a mess on table. Cutlery is always stained. Needs polishing on removal from dishwasher or they need a new dishwasher. Service very Good.

The GF and I have been here a couple of times for brunch when we fancied a breakfast but didn't have ingredients or couldn't be bothered. Lets be honest, its a cafe in a supermarket but it has good produce and fills a need and is good value. Sometimes the presentation isn't great- too small plate for the mega brunch. I would give it a better review than average but then it would be higher up the ratings than it should be, if you know what I mean.. Ps If you order separately, make sure get separate table numbers

Ordered the mega brunch but was told that they had no sausages (this is in a large supermarket) felt like suggesting I went down stairs and got some for them, no price reduction or alternative offered, so asked for extra bacon and was advised they would try and ask in the kitchen. School report would say 'must try harder'!

My partner and I stopped for a coffee break ahead of our shop. We were greeted with a hello and a friendly smile and ordered two filter coffees which were served in a mug. The coffee was lovely and the seating comfortable, plentiful and clean.

Did a little shopping and decided to have a bite to eat 12:40. Ordered 2 teas and 2 sausage & mash. 13:15 tea nearly all drunk and not food. Questioned told were you not told there is a 20 minute delay? that being already past 35 minutes. After watch people be served who arrived after us went up again to be told we would be another 10 - 15 minutes at which point I told them 50 minutes wait is not on and wanted a refund which was given. Lesson learnt order food before shopping you might get it!

Visited on several occasions with my Brother-In-Law. the air conditioning was on full-blast and wherever we sat we could not escape from it. The food came out hot but went icy-cold very very quickly under the chilly (read freezing) blast. The staff were friendly enough, but the table was sticky on one occasion. We had a number of different dishes on various visits and found them adequate. Certainly not fine dining but good truck-stop fare. Service was a little slow on occasion but ok generally. On every visit we complained about the air conditioning but was told there was nothing could be done. The best thing about it was the Nectar points!

If you are looking for a reliable breakfast this is the place to come. it is well cooked and cheap as chips.

Just as one expects from mass produced pre-prepared food. The staff were helpful but the servsice could have been quicker.

... It's cheap. There is no denying it.

On the way home stopped for a full English breakfast, and came across Sainsbury's so gave it a go. It was £4.25 each and a pot of tea each £1.00. After a short wait brought to our table piping hot, freshly cooked and had the "Full Monty" we were greatly surprised!!! Well done Sainsbury's!!!
