Complained about the meat was all fat and chewy could eat it , manger didn't do anything to put right dreadful sfaff slow food cold

Get a new Chef or 2 as food awful. I got home and threw up!! The bar staff and table service absolutely lovely.

Came across this establishment when visiting family and dropped in. Food was excellent and the staff very attentive to our needs especially when asked about allergens. Will definitely be returning when in the area again.

Had the smoked bacon cheeseburger and exactly like it says on the menu, you can’t beat a classic! Would highly recommend.

Can get busy on a Sunday, particularly for the carvery. Can be a long wait for service at the carvery counter as they also dish-up the takeaway orders from the same place. When it's busy, I think it would be a great idea for takeaway orders to be dealt with in the kitchen to help.

I came for the first time with boyfriend was a bit confused but staff were helpful we had a carvery lovely food 😋 the only thing is there was very little meat given 3 enough to give a mouse sorry but would have liked more meat and the gentleman behind giving the meat please smile 😃 you look like your on death Rowe but what lovely food also had a cake to take home which was very big but lovely 😍 will come again 😀

What a lovely experience. We popped in without a booking but we were welcomed warmly and a table was found for us. The food was excellent and although they were busy, we didn’t wait long and the atmosphere was so pleasant that we enjoyed our time. The staff were lovely and I only wish I lived locally so I could make it a regular haunt. Fully recommended

This carvery is absolutely brilliant! The staff are amazing and so welcoming! The food is top quality, reasonably priced too! It is such a friendly atmosphere when you go in, everyone is smiling everyone welcomes you. I had breakfast there and they cooked the mushrooms in butter! I have never had that before it’s so nice!

We had the breakfast which i have to say was well worth the money ! The food was hot and freshly cooked a large range of items bacon, egg with scrambled and fried, beans.The mushrooms cooked in butter were just the best I have not been anywhere where they cook them in butter, definitely will go back for those and the sausages were so tasty. The staff were all friendly and welcoming we were shown to our seat and the play area was an added bonus. We will definitely be returning there again and next will try the carvery and the cakes which looked amazing . Also they have a range of alternatives for people with allergies and vegan and vegetarian.

An absolute Gorgeous carvery. The food is top quality, the staff are so friendly! It is the ideal place you would want to go for a good Sunday roast or even a midweek roast! They also serve breakfasts which are an absolute slice of heaven! Eggs cooked perfectly and so much variety to choose from! You have to visit here!

Great family carvery restaurant - ample space - great family area (although not all tech working - still space to play for younger children). Food is always good and very reasonably priced. Blue light card membership discount too (2024).

The food has always been brilliant every time we eat here, the carvery especially. Mark is always really inviting and helpful. We always love coming here.

Really lovely food but the staff members were appalling, we were served by Kaci on the 30th October 2024 and she was very miserable and pulled faces at us which we found really unwelcoming.

Took relations from the Midlands down on holiday for the midweek carvery. We didn't book just popped in & it was packed !! ( probably due to half term school holidays) Huge carpark so no problem parking.Staff were lovely soon fitted us in & the food was excellent & such good value.The chef carving the meats (think he was Aaron or Nathan) was working so hard with a smile like all the staff here .That means so much to have amiable , helpful staff .Second time I have visited here & will certainly go again & recommend it Well done to all staff 😊🤗

Very disappointed with the food. It was our wedding anniversary spoilt our day.Food was very dry over cooked would not recommend people to go there.We will not be going back again. It was 7 o'clock at night very bad service one staff on food counter very slow service all round have been there many times before very very poor service this time

Had my first carvery yesterday and it certainty won't be my last. Bailey who was serving was excellent. Even treated myself to a slice of cake. An all round thoroughly enjoyable experience.

Came in because my hotel restaurant was fully booked until late in the evening and was glad it was. We were greeted pleasantly on arriving and shown to a table. The pub was busy but had tables available. Had the midweek carvery and cannot complain. The food was very very good. Well prepared and presented. Good price too

As always great place to go and eat, ideal for an early start unlimited breakfast and to meet friends and family later for a carvery in relaxed surroundings price for food is good as well.

Nice place but they always run out of beer especially Abbott ale and sometimes no glasses either, service is not good not enough bar staff, food is good most of the time.

We went here for breakfast, never again! We arrived and the only staff member we could see was talking to someone, so we waited by the bar patiently until them finished. They clearly saw us and it became obvious that the person they were chatting to was a friend. So we carried on waiting. Eventually they stopped and instead of coming over to us they turned thier back on us and started cutting up lemons! I had to say "I'm sorry but how do we go about ordering or paying for breakfast?" Before they would give us the time of day! They were friendly enough when serving but jeez, what ever happened to customer service! The food was edible but of poor quality.

Very good service at the bar. We had a group size of 15 and they were very accommodating to us all. Food come out hot and was enjoyed by all. Overall a very good service.

I was reluctant to eat at this place as when it first opened I had not been impressed, but as it was short notice and they could fit us in decided to sample the carvery. I have to say the food was absolutely delicious. Lovely cuts of meat great choice of vegetables and potatoes. Highly recommend it. Also the cakes are amazing. I ordered a slice for myself but could have share it with 3 people. I had to bring it home. Great place will definitely be going back

Spent the evening here for a birthday meal. We was greeted by a very bubbly and professional lady called Tanya she changed our table with no question to make us feel comfortable we was then served by lily who was amazing.

Decent food, couldn’t say the same about the staff loud shouting across to each other, congregating at the bar with some colorful language!

First we actually went to the mermaid to find the food quality was very poor so myself and my dad and son come here to be welcomed by the Manager mark that assisted us to a table close to the food area as my dad struggles to walk. Mark was more then happy to let us choose a table. The food Quality last night was 5* everyone of us enjoy the food and desserts. A big thank you to the waitress Mary who served us went all out to make sure we had such a pleasant evening from my self and dad and son thank you for the amazing service best we have had keep up the good work. We definitely will be back.

Food is great if you are eating in, but if you order for a delivery, something always seems to be missing. Not sure if it is the restaurant forgetting to pack everything or the delivery drivers feeling a bit hungry, but good luck getting a refund!

Welcoming host who was accommodating in our request to change tables because of mobility issues. The bar staff were rude, preferring to talk with friends and make themselves coffee rather than serve the guests waiting and queuing at the till. Carvery was of a nice standard and good price.

Lovely breakfast there. The mushrooms were actually buttered I don’t think I’ve ever had an English breakfast anywhere with the mushrooms buttered. A lot of options for spread for your toast. Really affordable.

We ate here this evening for my daughters birthday. 5 adults, 3 of us had the carvery, and the other 2 had meals off the main menu. The desserts out of the cake display are awesome!! Myself and my partner collected a 2 good 2 go order from here and the food was good, but the cook serving us couldn't have been clearer in how much of an inconvenience we were to him. Bit of a shame really

We went here 28/9/2024 7.15 pm, a family party of 9, I will say the price was OK, the food was average, they had no big bottles of presseco, they ran out, in a pub that size, really! And to really mess up the evening meal, the small children's soft play area, which we wanted to use for our 2 year old granddaughter, we couldn't, because bigger children were running out of control, chucking cusions, and kicking them like footballs, the parents didn't seem to care, the management and staff didn't take control of the situation, needless to say, we wouldn't recommend or go back. A lot of money for a bad experience. Stay away people. Save your money and go elsewhere.

I travel to come here for a carvery, it's normally really good, I've only had one occurrence where the veg was overcooked under the heat lamps.

Everything was great from start to finish. We booked a table and were seated quickly by Mark who was super efficient. We all ordered the carvery and were served quickly and efficiently. The food was great and we will definitely be coming back for more. Great value for money. The cake away was the best ever.
