The best restaurants serving British food in Wales

The team are always very cheerful, even when under pressure. We like the new menu, especially the Philly cheese steak pizza. It was heaving when we came in off the boat on bank holiday Sunday, but the team were coping very well. Hats off to you all.

We Visited Kings Head Monmouth on a very busy Saturday lunchtime. Very short of staff only one serving at the Bar and taking food orders. The young man Joe was exceptional , extremely busy but really professional. Dealt with a long queue with ease and patience. Sadly through no fault of his our food order didn’t arrive after a long time. On checking he went to sort it to find it had been cooked but forgotten to be delivered. He quickly set about re- ordering some fresh food which came in quick time and was delicious. This young man needs a special mention and is a credit and asset to the business.

Gary, his wife, whippet & terrier, and barman Archie made us welcome loved the friendly bar with no kids allowed, & great music inc Smalltown Boy

Stopped by for some food before a trip up Snowdon the following day. Both my friend and I really enjoyed our meals and the staff there that night (Rachel & Danny) were super friendly and helpful. Def call back next time I'm up this neck of the woods.

Called in for lunch and were greeted by friendly staff. We had roast beef dinner and it was nicely presented and flavoursome with a very good portion of beef. Only one small criticism, it would have been good to have a steak knife to cut the thick beef slices. Very reasonably priced.

A very rude young man serving coffee I will not visit the restaurant again, there was one young man who was very apologetic for his college but the older staff didn't seem to mind that this young man was being very hostile to people cueing for food and drink not a nice experience at all

The accommodation meets all expectations, access, comfort, simplicity, welcoming, and above all value for money. The staff and the local community are second to none. It's simply worth staying 👌

Had a takeaway delivered to our holiday site, food was fresh,hot and delicious. We will definitely use them again Thank you Two very satisfied customers

Jesus Christ, this was the most worse place I've ever ate at, I have only been here for s week from Australia and if this is how the customer service is, somebody needs to fire the guy because the way he spoke too my wife was unacceptable and he needs to fix his attitude because it was disgusting and you know what else was disgusting, the state of the chips like come on man how do you cook chips and still make them raw inside. Also the fish was raw even though we were told to wait 15 minutes just to be disappointed so I am never going to be coming back here again.

I place an order Saturday afternoon on 15th April 2023. The delivery was on time and that's the only positive. The chips was an odd colour, had a hint of grey to then and didn't taste right. The fish bites batter was hard and the fish meat inside was though and rubbery, as if they had been reheated. The mince beef pie didn't tate right, I opened the pie it was dry inside. I smelt the inside and I vomited. Can't even describe the smell. The lot was thrown in the bin. I never write reviews, but I was disgusted with my poor food quality. I'm also worried that someone could become seriously ill, if this continues. The owners need to be held accountable and need to be checking what's being produced on there premises.

After ordering, we waited 50 minutes for the food to come out. It was very disappointing. The burgers were £14 each and very basic. The fish goujons basket meal stated that it came with 4 goujons but we only had 2. With drinks we paid £75 for 5 of us and it wasn’t worth it. We’d have been better off going to McDonald’s.

Bad decision by someone. Coffee machines changed to preset ones rather than a traditional barista style. Cannot have extra hot coffee so was lukewarm at best and took 3 times as long. Bring back the old machines! Staff fed up with everyone asking for extra hot coffee! Sorry but we will be going to Costa across the road from now on.

The toilets in this place are disgusting. I have never seen anything like it. How health and safety haven't condemned them I don't know. I would never dream of eating in a establishment like this.
