The best restaurants serving British food in Wales

The view is amazing and food is nice, however the service is a mess- we ordered starters and desserts and half of my family got the starter while the other half got the dessert first. It was really weird to eat sundae before prawn salad, and even for this service we had to wait a lot, while the restaurant wasn’t busy at all. If I go back it’s only for the view

Visited Afon Conwy with grand children, ordered kids meals only to be told they had run out day before, ordered 2nd choice. Food came, I had ordered smothered chicken, the piece of chicken looked half the thickness of a normal chicken breast, it was that flat and just chips on plate, no coleslaw or salad, awful value for money, had to ask for the coleslaw which stated on menu. Staff in red shirts were quite friendly but another female member of staff had a bit of attitude like she couldn’t be bothered, certainly not employee of the year in my eyes. It is quite a while since I previously visited but don’t think I will ever bother to go again.

Great pub, welcoming environment and was clean and tidy, toilets are a little dated but we're clean. Food was cheap but tasted good, some bits were cold like the chips and the naan bread that came with the curry was solid were it was over cooked but otherwise was good for the cost. Staff served us quickly and were friendly. If you look young take your I.d they refused to serve my 23year old daughter (in fairness she does look younger and forgot her i.d so her own fault).

Not cheap but good value - great staff, comfortable seating in bar and seperate restaurant. Very welcoming.

Booked a table for 7:15, sat down at 7:45, without a lot of people in the restaurant. It was explained to us that he was waiting for a table by the window. When sat, a number of items weren’t on the menu as it was the 2nd week of a half term! Half terms come around every year so some pre planning should have been organised? Ordered food and was told a further 2 weren’t available! Food arrived, this seemed good and tasty until a small fly was found in one of the meals. Very apologetic manager but that didn’t take away that it was there and found. At the end of the evening we were provided with an appropriate response to the meals and experience we were given. A real disappointment.

Absolutely terrible night and spoiled a birthday celebration. Took 2 hours for half the starters and further starters came after prompting. Food was terrible chicken breast cold in centre and swimming in melted butter couldn't taste garlic! Sent it back for it to be returned absolutely cremated and inedible. Queues for drinks. Staff just going around in circles no specific waiter although head waiter nominated different staff member to settle out bill no apology or offer to reduce bill that came to £289! Wine very overpriced and seems request for wine responded to very quickly shame the food wasn't the same. Arrived at 7pm with half starters served at 9pm!! I whenever return unless management and chefs change it was really disappointing.

Came back to visit after moving away and the service, prices and quality were still just great. Leanne and Kristina made me feel looked after from the moment I walked in, and the rest of the staff are just as superb.

What a great spot! We had a great visit to this secluded pub on the beach. There are two places you can park, at the Golf Club car park with a cost of around five pounds through an app, from here you walk over the golf course on the path/road to the pub. Or, you can park further down on the National Trust car park and walk along the beach to the pub. We parked at the golf club, walked over the golf course and then walked back along the beach and back up to the golf car park. The beach walk is great. There was a DJ on when we went and that gave it a good atmosphere outside we did not sit inside as the weather was OK. Food was available although we did not order anything. Friendly staff who served at the outside bar. Be careful of the closing times as that can be early if there is not an event on.

I went here for my birthday lunch on tuesday the 5th of November and as an avid toby carvery lover I had a great experience as usual.

Nice spot mid travel. Good service and 4 happy well fed people 😁 we had 3 chicken bacon & waffles and a double beef classic burger and we are stuffed.

Jane In play was fabulous today.. very friendly and attentive.. the play area was spotlessly clean with her and it was a pleasure to eat in the play area. Food was hot and Hayley the manager was very welcoming.

We went for the festive menu, extremely disappointed ☹️ the food was cold ,not cooked properly,the roast potatoes were dry ,cold the whole meal was awful we did mention it to the waitress she didn't seam interested,we have been there before for a meal ,but this one was terrible,most of the staff are very nice ,sorry wouldn't recommend this festive meal to anyone
