The food was good but that’s it , ordered Welsh rarebit but it wasn’t what we ordered, it was onion chutney and cheese on top, so totally wrong chefs need training in a dish that we all know so well in wales . But it tasted really good, if we ordered cheese on toast it’d be 4.5/5 , 2 star as it was just cheese on toast. The cawl was okay, but sadly the lamb wasn’t shredded it was blocks , so it just didn’t seem right. Like it wasn’t boiled for the amount of time it should have been and was slightly bland , tasted nice though but not that real cawl that we are used to. Once again tasted nice but a 3.5/5 .

This Pub gives easy access to the waterfalls by a gated path towards the Pyrddin River , so is an ideal spot for your meals &refreshment . After our walk , we ate salads here , followed by apple pie & custard , which were excellent . The staff are friendly, which is one of the hallmarks of people in general in rural Wales . The setting of the Pub has a good car park , & I imagine it is popular with many visitors who come to see the waterfalls . Highly recommended .

We've stopped here twice while on a biking tour. Both times had excellent food, plenty of parking, plenty of walkers around visiting the falls. We try and plan our lunch stop here when travelling.

Absolutely great meal, staff were very welcoming especially the young maitre ‘d He was attentive and very good in his recommendations and he was spot on for our meal ( Caribbean Chicken ) . All staff we dealt with were pleasant . Atmosphere was nice and the log burner was great . Very clean throughout . My only disappointed was that they don’t have any real ales available on tap or in bottles ,they could stock them as there is a very long shelf life on them , so cmon get some in 🙏😀. My wife had a lovely gin and tonic with plenty of choice . All in all we will be back soon . Diolch yn fawr for a lovely meal and welcome . Gary and Thian

Brilliant food portions, the food was also very tasty and we really enjoyed as a family. The only thing was poor was the service. But we would go there again.

Unfortunately we waited for 40 minutes for a starter. I politely asked if there was an issue. 5 mins later the starters arrived… no apology or even acknowledgment of the wait. The starters were tasty and we enjoyed them. Our main courses came swiftly after. They were poor quality. It was an unfortunate experience for us and we won’t be returning or recommending. Perhaps it was an off night for them.

Visited here yesterday. Called in advance as we were passing and luckily they were able to fit 2 of us in for a meal. I had the steak and ale pie - honestly the best pie I have ever had! The steak just melted in the mouth and the tastiest gravy. My partner had a mixed grill - he said it was cooked perfectly. Large portion sizes with real chips. Lovely atmosphere. The place filled up quite quickly with walkers and many tables were already reserved. I would advise calling in advance to book your table to avoid disappointment. Staff were friendly, lovely traditional pub. Absolute gem of a place and can't wait to return 🙂

Called in for lunch before heading up to do the Four Waterfalls Walk - super friendly and they also have an area set aside for dogs - prompt service and fun decor - plenty of car parking space - whilst we saw lots of walkers who had finished their walk for us it was an idea base to file up prior to our adventure- the Jemima Pitchfork was a lovely pint 🍺 The food was delicious and plentiful- highly recommended 👏

Lovely Sunday lunch, clearly very busy but the staff worked hard to ensure a good dining experience. I do wish to point out however that the dining experience was spoilt for me, the reason for this is that table 11 is a two seater. My seat was directly in front of a very busy kitchen door my view was obviously of my lovely wife but Essentially the one seat is looking into a corner and of course the very busy kitchen door. My wife commented that she was enjoying the ambiance sadly I couldn’t say the same. My only constructive feedback would be to take the table away since it’s not possible to re position it.

Upon walking into this pub I didn’t feel like it was somewhere I wanted to eat - however when I was out voted by the family, I did eat here. I’m happy I did! Typical pub grub was ordered, scampi and chips, pie and chips and a jacket potato. All meals came out with freshly cooked hot food. We had two different pies on our table and both were deeply filled with filling and with a crusty puff pasty lid. I would definitely return to eat here again. A thumbs up from all four family members.

The food took too long to arrive. The lasagne looked and tasted like it had been cooked for a few days. The leek & chicken pie was like soup with a pastry lid. The fish was overcooked. The garlic bread was burnt. The menu is overpriced for the quality. I will not visit again.

We were visiting friends so there were four of us. It was table service due to current restrictions. Our friends arrived first and had drinks - we weren’t offered drinks before a rather miserable waitress asked to take our food order! She couldn’t have made things harder - we had steak and chips but when we asked what it came with she said we could order a side salad which we did. My husband asked if he could have veg and she said no. Once sorted food came and it was lovely but we absolutely didn't need to have ordered side salad as it came with peas, onion rings and mushrooms! I’d asked for a glass of wine and she brought me a single serving bottle which surprised me given we were in a pub. New waitress then came to service our table who was a breath of fresh air. Second round of drinks came and I was given a glass of wine - no bottle! She was laughing and joking with us and even when they only had one desert left that we’d ordered two of she was pleasant and apologetic and it wasn’t a problem at all for us. Really not sure whether the first waitress was new or just at the end of a long shift!

All four of us went one day for lunch and the lamb's liver and onions was the best meals two of us had eaten for years. We returned two days later for dinner and the meal was exceptional again. Slow service but understandable with restrictions and the amount of people eating there. Will definitely go again next time we are in the area.

Wouldn’t serve a quick pint at 8.20pm as they were closing at 8.30pm although there were people still eating and drinking. Not at all welcoming. No doubt complacent about service due to location.

Breakfast was amazing. Fast friendly and efficient staff at the bar, food was tasty and cooked to perfection. Hot chocolate machine played up, but the waiter sorted it out immediately. 10 out of 10. I think we have adopted table 19 now. Have had numerous great breakfasts at this location. Highly recommended. 😀

We booked a table at the Wellington hotel brecon last night for my 40th birthday meal. We was seated fast even if it was in the dinning area and we had booked a table for the bar area, although our waitress seated us and just walked off without offering a drink order. After about 10mins I just went to the bar and got them myself, by the time I got back she had returned to offer a drink but I had already got them. The waitress then came back to take a meal order, I asked if they could swap out the 5oz rump on the mixed grill for a 8oz sirloin and I would be happy to pay the difference, she enquired and the answer came back no wich didn't sit well with me to start the night off. We ordered 2 8oz steaks rare with a side of onion rings instead and 2 starters, halloumi fries and garlic mushrooms in cheese sauce. The starters were OK, nothing special but ok although was served with no additional cutlery with wich to eat it. Maybe one notch above what you would expect at a weatherspoons The mains arrived and I'm not sure the chef knows the difference between rare and raw, this thing was almost as pink on the outside as it was in the center, there was zero seer on it and the fat was completly unchewable like rubber, chips wernt bad and the sauce was averagely ok. By the end we had left more than half a steak each because it was pathetic the onion rings were slimy and we had eaten one whole bowl of chips. Everything else was left as it was inedible and we left still hungry and contemplating buying a kebab. Probably due to the fact I was annoyed that they refused to make a small adjustment even though I said I would pay the difference I then started noticing faults such as the light fitting above our table being full of dust and not cleaned. To summarise I won't be returning, I paid £60+ for basically a bowl of chips and few peices of halloumi and a small bowl of watery mushrooms. Completely ruined my birthday meal experience and left my fiancé feeling guilty as she had hoped it would be a nice treat and felt she let me down but this was the wellies fault not hers. Last picture is what was left on the table
