We decided to go for a walk up in Aberfoyle and went here for some lunch. We were warmly welcomed, and our order was taken promptly. Food was delicious (burger and macaroni) Staff were fantastic. Only 2 working when every table was full. They did great! They welcomed our wee soggy wet dog in (even though he barked.. sorry about that!) Would definitely recommend and come back. This is a wee homely pubgrub place and it's right up our street.

Had a terrible experience here. I booked this place for my partners 30th birthday meal (which I stated when booking) weeks in advance, however we arrived to find the pub was shut, despite having my booking confirmed and it stating online that it was open. I rang the number, the doorbell and knocked the door as I could hear people inside and was completely ignored, however as we were leaving the owner came out after a van arrived and a very suspicious transaction occurred. I asked the owner about why the pub was shut and that I had booked for my partners birthday. He was not apologetic in the slightest and told me that I should have received a text or email informing me it was closed, which I hadn't!! I would advise avoiding this pub at all costs as they do not care about the customers at all.

1st visit to Karma Lake. Very impressed on arrival. Stunning location. The weather was not the best on the day so already planning a trip back in spring/summer. Food was tremendous 3 menus available on that particular day. A very impressive collection of whisky in the Malt Vault. I believe Karma have their own blended whisky too. Great service with friendly staff. We were told of summer BBQ'S & boat trips out to the Island on the Lake of Monteith. Will definitely be back for that.

There's always something inherently cheerful about the Green Welly Stop. Perhaps it's the name. Anyhoo, it's a tourist retail spot selling clothes and trinkets, with an attached restaurant, toilets, and plenty of free parking. It's a bit pricy, but the staff are great. (We had a good laugh over '500 miles'!) Also on the same site next door is a Londis type shop for the more prosaic items like bread and milk etc. Overall a really pleasant and useful stop. Best wishes all.

I cannot recommend this place enough. The staff were very friendly and the food was amazing. The homemade pakora was exceptional and the portion sizes were huge with prices being reasonable. Had a stand alone gluten free menu which really made my coeliac daughters day as we had struggled at other places. If you get the chance you must visit this place!

Since being taken over 3 years ago, the Killin Hotel has really turned around and is top notch for food. Really nice surroundings, very popular bar and restaurant and even has darts and tent sports in the lounge. We had an excellent meal tonight- starters all very good, but the chicken butter curry was superb and burger was streets ahead of the tired, lazy, more expensive version at the Falls of Dochart last night. If any of the others were open before Thursday, we could rate against them, but with Courie, Pizza, Shutters and chip van Thur- Sun only, Killin Hotel has to be the best all-week food offering in Killin now

Bought one sourdough bread loaf and 3 brownies. He said we can have the last brownie (the fourth) for free yet we still payed £18 all together. No prices shown online and hard to find prices in the shop. Tasted great but not for that amount of money!

We were there for Mother’s Day. The staff is very attentive and friendly. It was buffet style. The food is abundant and they replenish the dishes quickly. However the style is very ho hum. Really pretty plain. The French toast and the meat were really dry. The place is very dark and depressing. The carpets are dirty and the place needed a lift yesterday! For $60 a person, we all expected more. There are brighter places with more interesting food. We are not going back.

Spent one night as we are hiking and need to keep moving. The location is excellent as it’s literally on the W Highland Way trail. Late afternoon to get a large cold beer, what a treat! Nice selection of local and nearby beers on tap. U wound up getting a venison burger. It was a little dry, maybe overcooked. Fries were fine, side salads were good. Great place to watch hikers going by as well as many stopping to get a beer or two.

The Black Bull is a great place to stay and eat . It certainly exceeded our expectations for both the room and restaurant aspects. The room we had was large, well appointed , comfortable and had a great view over the surrounding area. The staff were invariably helpful and friendly. We had both breakfast and evening meals. The food was great on all occasions. There was a good choice of breakfast items both hot and cold although it would have been great to have an option for porridge oats. Evening meals were superb , good quality food perfectly cooked and presented. The winter chef’s chicken and the steak pie were particularly good. It would have been nice to have a menu choice with haggis (or perhaps use it in the chicken breast to make it traditional chicken balmoral?) The bar area is good with a wide choice of drinks. We have no hesitation in recommending this inn for a great stay.

Just arrived back from a holiday from Inversnaid Hotel with lochs and Glen's Holidays. We have been doing coaching holidays for the last 25 years with various companies and can honestly say this was the best holiday ever. Lovely clean hotel, comfortable beds, fantastic food, brilliant driver Sandra. 100%. Will definitely be using this company again.
