Delicious freshly made food and very friendly service . The shark toilet was very amusing and all constructed by the host. Dog friendly, George scored a bonio, ( or 2!!) the hosts are very welcoming and kind and could not do enough to ensure our comfort and needs met. Highly recommend. Easy access and parking.

What a unexpected gem. Passed it numerous times but the first time today we popped in. So pleased we did, super staff, lovely homemade light lunches, and fabulous cakes and scones on offer. Plus excellent local coffee to top it. Even bought a couple of Christmas presents too. I can certainly recommend (dog friendly too!). We'll definitely be popping in next time we're passing.

+ Good location, plenty of parking available, dog friendly - Portrays itself as fine dining on the website, however the food is more like pub grub. Fish chowder was more like a vegetable soup with minimal fish in it. Despite staff being polite, they would congregate at the bar and watch whilst we eat our meal, at times being overly-attentive and felt like they wanted to rush us out of the door. Overpriced for the food and experience. service - 6 food - 6 venue - 5

Such a shame. Is there anywhere else in Scotland where a stylish Al fresco area is surrounded on two sides by 3-4 foot jungle of weeds. Or where you can hardly see the road signs for similar? It must be the. It must be the responsibility of the same person in management who thinks that white lettering on pale grey is just the combination of colours to grab the passing visitor off the road. I live locally and would love the Woodside to succeed, but someone has a mentlal block, and fails to realise how important the initial visual impression is to the passing motorist. "If they can't keep the garden tidy, what about the food, and the toilets?" It has gone on like this for many months, and includes every detail of their outside plant decor. The half dead conifer on the left side of the entrance has been half dead for months. It would not take much to do a tidy-up. But the empty car park at coffee time during the tourist season must largely be a reflection of the first impressions travellers get as they approach the place. Come on Woodside. We want you to succeed. Apply the same standards to the outside as you do to the inside.

- Outside seating and tables could do with a bit of a tlc/cleaning (but it did add to it's outdoor 'shabby chic' vibe) Service could be improved especially at busier times. + Plenty of parking Well maintained grounds and buildings - next to the river. Food was excellent! - we had the battered king prawns, salmon and lamb rump (which was a tad overcooked) Very reasonably priced for what you get. Overall this was one of the highlights of our visit to Callander, I would recommend pre-booking especially for dinner. We will be back if we are in the area.

I can really recomend both the food and the accomodation at The Craigs Hotel in Callander. We had a lovely stay with a genuine indian dinner, dinner was excellent! friendly staff, in a well looked after hotell. Thankyou from us Lena Hadal and Tim Carter

I stumbled in here on day 4 of my West Highland Way walk nursing an injury and it couldn’t have been more fantastic. Had a much needed breakfast and coffee, and a really good chat with the girl at the bar (can’t believe I didn’t catch her name as we spoke for ages). Was really lovely and welcoming - can be isolating doing a long distance hike at a quiet time of the year, so this was really welcome. She gave me great advice both in terms of pushing on with the hike but also transport links if I couldn’t manage it. Could not recommend enough - I will definitely be staying here in the Spring when I try the WHW again - hopefully this time with a less dodgy knee!

Backpacking from Sallochy along a difficult route to Inversnaid to reach this haven. Transport picked us up and transported us to the venue there & back. Great food and hospitality. Staff were brilliant and so helpful. Evening meal, breakfast and packed lunch all excellent so compliments to the chefs. Just a great quirky converted Chapel with good facilities.

I stayed 1 night here while walking the West Highland Way. Lovely double room by the stream (might be a bit midget earlier in the year). Shared shower room, but with just one other room. Clean, warm and comfortable. Good WiFi. Dinner in the Top Bunk was great. Venison stew with dumplings and garlic potatoes. One of the best meals of my trip.
