Shutters Licensed Restaurant in Stirling

On a lovely sunny day we chanced upon Shutters, clearly a popular venue with cyclists and walkers, and had a very pleasant tea and cakes. Service was friendly despite much in demand and the decor and furniture easy on the eye and very comfortable. Thoroughly enjoyable time.

A handy spot in the Main Street with good outside tables. We stopped for coffee and a bacon roll mid-morning. The bacon rolls were fine if a bit under-filled but the coffee was not. Cappuccino was actually a poor excuse for a latte and the espresso was dishwater. Maybe the bean-to-cup machine was on the blink or had run out of beans? Perhaps we were unlucky ... but really.

Lovely little cafe. We called in twice to enjoy lattes and delicious home made cakes. Staff were polite, friendly and efficient. Good menu and reasonable prices. There aren’t many places to eat in Killin and, in my opinion, this is the best.

So nice to get a gluten free carrot cake when a lot of coffee shops only have a token gf brownie or flapjack so well done Shutters you made my day. Service was great as was the coffee, tea and roll we had. The only thing stopping me giving 5* is it was a wee smidge on the pricey side.

We sat outside, with beautiful views of the hills around us. Bright and cheerful location with lots of pretty potted flowers. Coffee was tasty and the victoria sponge cake was amazing. Staff were friendly and attentive. Great place to sit back, have a snack and enjoy the scenery.

Average lunch for an expensive bill. The staff were friendly and lovely location but I was very surprised how expensive it was.

Lovely clean cafe polite helpful staff the homemade soup - lentil was freshly made that say and was delicious the toasties were well cooked and came with salad and crisps - daughter was very happy- had take out cheery Bakewell slice , Victoria sponge and Bakewell sponge all hand made and very tasty ( not normally a pudding person ) will definitely be going back before heading home well worth a visit .

For a cafe one of the nicest in the area. Really well made coffee Awesome cake selection and great way to serve the ice creams. The staff team were really friendly, which is a rare occurrence these days. If you are in Killin, well worth your custom.

We loved our visit to Shutters! We all had something different to eat (soup & a roll, chips and carrot cake & coffee). Everything was gorgeous! The Stilton and broccoli soup was very tasty :) Nyah was lovely and very helpful, as were the rest of the team! The outdoor seating out front is great too. Our dogs appreciated the water bowls ready to go outside! We will definitely call back again soon :)

Called here a few times for coffee, cake and breakfast. Breakfast was excellent, I love Scottish black pudding and everything was very tasty. Nice outdoor seating in the centre of the village.

We stopped at Shutters for lunch en route to the West coast and it was perfect. The food was tasty, the service was prompt, the staff helpful, and the cake display particularly impressive. Next time we’re passing Killin we’ll definitely call in.

Deary me, £10 for a baguette which had the most minimal filling imaginable, small boring undressed salad and handful of cheap crisps. Not good enough. It would have been a 1 rating had the staff not been decent.

Stopped by for an afternoon chocolate drink and a cake, thanks to hearing from others Trip Advisor reports. The staff were super accommodating and the cakes were delightful. Definitely a place one can recomend!

I gave this place a bad review in 2022 but I think it may have changed hands. What a difference this year. Welcoming, chatty, wonderful selection of cakes. Dogs now very welcome inside. Thank you.

Popped into this restaurant after climbing Ben Lawers, we were hungry and a little tired. We were greeted at the door, we took our seat down in the lounge area as the restaurant wasn’t busy. We waited 15/20 minutes before I went up and enquired about how to order food as throughout the time we were waiting, I could hear the staff just causally standing around chatting. Once I enquired, a lady eventually came down and took our order. Food arrived well presented however it wasn’t anything special. It was very pricey and we wouldn’t return or recommend. 1 panini, 1 baguette, 1 small bowl of chips and a can of juice costed approximately £20. The ladies were lovely however I would not recommend!

We really like Killin and we have stopped there many times. It's only our second time in Shutters though so maybe (possibly not though 'cos life's too short) we'll give it another try in the future, but both times we have been the food was average at best. This last time, a month ago - before the COVID-19 lockdown, my wife had a Toastie (She said the bread was hard! Crispy, I asked? No, just hard! Tasty though? No...kind of bland.) I had a Baked Potato which had obviously been there a day or two because there wasn't much potato left inside...and the salad was sparse. Also, we had two Latte Coffees, which were nice.However, at over £20 for what we had, it seemed very over priced.Nice surroundings and the staff were pleasant enough.
