Backpacking from Sallochy along a difficult route to Inversnaid to reach this haven. Transport picked us up and transported us to the venue there & back. Great food and hospitality. Staff were brilliant and so helpful. Evening meal, breakfast and packed lunch all excellent so compliments to the chefs. Just a great quirky converted Chapel with good facilities.

The Top Bunk Bistro offers the best food for miles around - mainly because there is few other places to eat! But now I’ve been there, I’d travel a fair old distance to eat there again. It’s set in a disused chapel near a small campsite in a remote area close to the banks of Loch Lomond. We had almost given up hope of finding somewhere to eat when we stumbled across it. Expecting an average meal at best, we were stunned by the imaginative menu and wide choice of food and drink. The staff are friendly, helpful and efficient and it’s great value for money. Clearly, the lack of competition hasn’t harmed the excellent standards here. We returned the following evening to sample other delights on offer and thoroughly recommend it.

Brilliant hostel! The staff were lovely and the facilities were clean and well maintained. Although the showers are outside they are very nice. The restaurant upstairs is stellar and overall value for money on the stay was very good compared to other places on the West Highland Way! I would recommend to stay here over the inversnaid hotel any day!

Would first of all like to start by saying the best thing about this place is the staff… big shout out to Pete and Shaun ! They were upbeat and welcoming when picked up after finishing our 2nd day hike doing the west highland way, food was class and even sorted us out with an upgrade to a caravan which was fantastic! When leaving we got a pack lunch made for us and my dog got some nice chicken fillets to prepare us for our day ahead (thanks Shaun)we actually considered booking to stay another night it was so great! We will definitely be back I wish I could give this more stars 🤪if you want a place that’s cosey/quirky and great banter book here you won’t be dissapointed !!!!!!!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫

Popped in after our disappointment of the Inversnaid Hotel. We are so glad we did. The bistro is set upstairs in an old renovated church. The stain glass windows are an interesting feature. The lunch menu suits all tastes. I opted for the black pudding, chorizo, apple salad. Freshly prepared by the friendly chef. It was superb. Hubby had the burger which he said was really good. The bistro has a licence and all sorts of beers, ciders and wines. Definitely worth visiting for lunch or evening dinner.

My son who has mental health issues and his son who by the way is autistic , came to mcnabbs to get out of the snow today. They were soaked through and were there to wait to be picked up,as they had been waiting two hours on a bus in the freezing cold. Having bought drinks in the bar , they were asked to leave because there was a funeral on. It wasn’t appropriate for them to be there said the staff . Was it appropriate when they bought drinks from you? How heartless do you have to be to throw a child a dog and two adults back out into the snow . You are disgusting shameless profiteers. Couldn’t you have offered somewhere else for them to sit ? Customer service ? What customer service? Shame on you .And just for an added bonus my grandson was so stressed he had a nosebleed. My son had already contacted me to ask me to come to pick them up and told me he had bought a drink and hot drinks for his family, no mention of you can’t come in or we can’t sell you a drink as this is a private function, so although the owner states I wasn’t there , neither was the owner as a staff member came over and spoke to my son, who says that he explained the situation and told the staff member my grandsons feet were soaking and he was freezing but was still asked to leave. I don’t have any bias, except for the treatment of my family. If you have no problem with your actions, why haven’t you mentioned the fact that you did tell them to leave after selling them a drink and allowing them in?

A very poor experience in terms of food quality and service. It certainly didn't live up to it's claim of "equisite dining"...where we would.."Indulge in a culinary journey".(unless the destination was mediocrity). We were there as a group of about 14 in a private room for the xmas menu and we had eaten here the previous year also, when the food was OK, but not great. This year it was much poorer. The scallops were absolutely tiny! The cod was NOT cod, not sure what it was but as someone who has worked in the UK fish industry for many years, it was most definitely not cod. The same happened last year when it was a bass or bream fillet (also called "cod" on the menu) but was quite tasty so I didn't mind so much then. This time it was a fish with quite soft and tasteless flesh. We had to chase some drinks orders several times as they didn't appear, sometimes eventually turning up after about 20 minutes. The sticky toffee pudding was on freezing cold plates, which made the sauce cold and sponge barely warm...just about room temperature. One sticky toffee pudding that was ordered with vegan ice cream didn't appear until we had chased it a couple if times and everyone else had finished. We won't be back next year. Perhaps we should have complained more at the time, but it's supposed to be a fun time, not one when as well as chasing food and drinks, we have to moan about everything and kill the atmosphere.

While wandering through Aberfoyle came across this little butchers. Glad we did, the Roll and sausage/ black pudding doubler was amazing, great value for £5 my son had the Steak roll also delicious. No hesitation in recommending this establishment. A wee day out, you have to pop in.

We popped in here for lunch while passing for the first time and were glad we did. The service was good, very quick and efficient, staff were very friendly. There is a good selection on the menu and even a dog menu, which our dogs loved! The soup was delicious and toasties were tasty but a little burnt around the sides so we couldn't even bite into some of them. They have no disabled parking which is disappointing. We will definitely pop in again if passing!
