Macnab´s in Stirling

My son who has mental health issues and his son who by the way is autistic , came to mcnabbs to get out of the snow today. They were soaked through and were there to wait to be picked up,as they had been waiting two hours on a bus in the freezing cold. Having bought drinks in the bar , they were asked to leave because there was a funeral on. It wasn’t appropriate for them to be there said the staff . Was it appropriate when they bought drinks from you? How heartless do you have to be to throw a child a dog and two adults back out into the snow . You are disgusting shameless profiteers. Couldn’t you have offered somewhere else for them to sit ? Customer service ? What customer service? Shame on you .And just for an added bonus my grandson was so stressed he had a nosebleed. My son had already contacted me to ask me to come to pick them up and told me he had bought a drink and hot drinks for his family, no mention of you can’t come in or we can’t sell you a drink as this is a private function, so although the owner states I wasn’t there , neither was the owner as a staff member came over and spoke to my son, who says that he explained the situation and told the staff member my grandsons feet were soaking and he was freezing but was still asked to leave. I don’t have any bias, except for the treatment of my family. If you have no problem with your actions, why haven’t you mentioned the fact that you did tell them to leave after selling them a drink and allowing them in?

In my recent post about the staffs blatant discrimination nowhere did we see signs of any private function being held, the fact is no where in or around the premises suggested it was fully booked and private functions should have been solely that and blocked off, there was no signs whatsoever and the bar staff had the opportunity to turn us away and let us know of the private function witch they didn’t, but they were more than happy to take our money and tell us to leave after buying said drinks and not say a word, nowhere did it say the cafe was also booked 🤔 soo no and you suggested walking all the way back to where we came from when the mcnabs is right where we needed to get the bus back home soo wouldn’t have made sense giving the dangerous weather conditions it’s absolute diabolical that you and staff would make us feel like trash , the fact that there were no signs that the entire place was booked was down to the poor staffing no signs as to it being fully booked soo the mcnabs is in the wrong . Do better

DISGUSTING behaviour from staff had went to the pub as my son who is disabled was soaked through from snow and they kicked us out and whilst doing soo overheard staff discussing our situation in a bad light absolute no sympathy from any staff horrible experience AVOID, AVOID, AVOID not family friendly and definitely not towards disabled children low quality of drinks witch we ordered horrible experience id give 0 stars but i made this post as to warn people in future

Great pub for food or a drink staff are very helpful and my favourite place in Callander highly recommend top class 👌

Neat atmosphere and a convenient location. There was plenty of space for our large group, and everyone enjoyed the food. However, those of us who had ordered "half portions" were charged for full servings. When we asked for the bill to be corrected, the price was lowered, but still not to the half price we saw offered online.

Tasty, filling, affordable food with attentive service in a historic hotel. We recommend the Bangers and Mash and the Macaroni and Cheese (make sure you add Haggis).

We recently celebrated my wife Nancy 80th Birthday and held it in McNabs. I cannot rate the place highly enough. From the onset Steve and Pamela were terrific and nothing was too much bother for them. The advice and guidance we received from them was first class. The buffet was absolutely outstanding. I have never been anywhere where I’ve heard the food getting so widely praised. The singer, Debbie Anne King was fabulous with a varied song choice to suit every age group. The hall was beautifully decorated and bar staff were polite and helpful.So thank you once again and I would recommend this place to anyone who is thinking of holding a function.

Just had lunch here for my mums birthday. The food was absolutely delicious. Staff are so friendly and helpful. Lovely atmosphere. I’d highly recommend coming here. We’ll definitely be back!

We went to this restaurant in Callander because it was the only one that had the kitchen open at 4pm, the truth is that when we entered there was no one (because of the time) and it gave us a bit of a problem, but in the end we decided to stay and it was a decision very accurate. We ordered the nachos to share, which is a huge and super delicious piece of plate, and then the fish and chips and the legendary mac and cheese, all spectacular and so much that it was impossible to even finish it. In addition, the two guys who were serving that day were charming at all times, and also, dogs are allowed in the premises.

Just had a brief visit to buy sandwiches to go while on a Discover Scotland tour. The woman who helped us couldn’t have been more lovely and arranged for sandwiches for 7 even though they were done making sandwiches for the day.

I went here with my family of 4 and it was absolutely Wonderful! three of us had the mac and cheese and one of us had the children's pizza and they all tasted amazing. Our waitress was just wonderful and so very kind. A Hundred percent Would recommend going here!

Highly recommend this restaurant! My husband and I came today with our autistic daughters and the staff went above and beyond to make sure not only our food was amazing but also our time in the establishment was calm and enjoyable. From going out of their way to make sure my daughter whom has issues with textures found something to eat going on to little extras like bringing the sprinkles separately in a bowl for them to put them on their sundae's themselves giving the girls space to decide what they want to eat when they became over whelmed and actually giving my girls cuddles and making them feel like their opinions mattered. And the icing on the cake was meeting Boston, misty and milo one happy family that can't wait to come back The mac and cheese the bbq pulled pork is divine 😋

This is my second time coming here and both time the food has been spectacular and the staff and been amazing very polite and helpful will definitely be back again the steak was good the first time round but the mac n cheese is to die for

Had a wonderful experience here. Tracey & Emily were polite, very friendly and quite efficient. I would highly recommend Mcnabs & these ladies.

Food was delicious HOWEVER we had to wait about 1h and 15 minutes for the food to arrive despite the waitress telling us it would take 30 minutes. Possibly an understaff problem, we saw one of the chefs just vaping outside while we were waiting for our meals. APPALLING WAIT.

Lovely place. I've stayed in the attached hotel a few times in the past and stopped by on Saturday to visit the bar. Great selection of drinks and lovely scones too!

We were on a bus tour and stopped in for lunch. We couldn't have been happier with our decision. The food was delicious, and the service was topnotch. And thanks to Tracy, our server, we made it back to our bus in plenty of time.

Amazing service, gorgeous dishes and good price. Not to mention the kindness and warmth wellcome we've received from the Scott family who runs this place.

Atmosphere and the food was amazing. The chef modified a lunch to suit some dietary needs. Ribeye and chips was cooked to perfection. Excellent dining experience.

Absolutely outstanding staff! Pamela, Tracey and emily are an absolute credit to be around the food was exceptional and very cheap, these guys made my visit in the dull hotel very welcoming. I couldn't ask for better people to have served me whilst i was there, absolutely would recommend this place to anyone that wants to visit Callander!

This place was incredible. Had the Scottish soup, Steak and Ale pie, and fish and chips. Delicious!

Went to Macnabs on Saturday night had amazing food and an even more amazing live band, seems to be the new place to be in Callander. Will definitely pop in again

Held my 60th birthday here. Buffet was discussed and provided to an exceptionally high standard( so much so that all my guests commented on it ) at a most reasonable price. Nothing was to much trouble for the friendly efficient staff.

As a temporary local I can say MacNabs has been an absolute blessing to find! Absolutely beautiful pub with great atmosphere, decent grub, friendly regulars. Stevie, Pamela & staff are always very welcoming and accommodating 💕 Live music / karaoke nights have been a blast and wish I had a pub like this nearby back home! x

Stopped in for lunch on way to Inverness. Most excellent food. Young man was extremely helpful and polite.

Welcoming bar, lovely cosy pub decor and atmosphere, great bar staff. Tracy is the name of the bar tender whilst visiting and she was very friendly and accommodating. Would recommend a visit if in the area.

First time here and food was amazing. Defo come back

Came on Sunday evening for dinner. The food is excellent and so well priced. We had beef burger and steak and ale pie, both were brilliant. Excellent skinny fries as well. And the singer was brilliant. Frank Sinatra style. Such a hidden gem would definitely recommend. Food is fresh and tasty and the general atmosphere is smashing. Family friendly, dog friendly, eclectic style but the main thing is the food is excellent.

We went on a Saturday night for a festive get-together. The table setting was really gorgeous and vintage with lovely candles. I had the steak and peppercorn sauce which was cooked to perfection (rare) and I polished my plate off. The chips were delicious and really good quality. Johnny cash tribute was great too and the atmosphere was happy and relaxed but still a good few people up for a dance. We ended up back for breakfast the next day and the breakfast was great too, always good to get haggis and black pudding on your plate.

Currently sitting in Mcnabs as I write this. Been a couple of times now. Fantastic traditional bar. Food brilliant. Pamela and Steven couldn’t do more. Oh and the playlist best I’ve heard !!!

Staff were nice enough but the food seemed like something you’d get from a snack van. I’m surprised by the good reviews. Fries were the skinny cheap ones not cooked very well either. Overall no where near our standards for decent food at all. But I wish your business well. Edit**** As I cannot reply to your reply. I feel you’ve been upset by this review but it’s our experience. The fries in our opinion were rubbish that’s our opinion. I didn’t feel the standard was up to much at all it was so basic. The Lade in is the type of standard we look for in a bar meal. Amd that’s all it is standards and different viewpoints. We felt your food is very basic and wouldn’t return that’s all. I’m sure many people enjoy it and that’s fine. But unfortunately getting upset when people don’t rate the quality doesn’t make sense. Like I said I’m sure your business will do great it’s just not for us we were excited to try with it being local. And the snack van is the kind of standard this food was greasy, chips were honestly awful.

Brilliant pub , food is great and the specials ( steak on this occasion ) was great value for money . There was a superb singer the Saturday we went , she was getting everyone up dancing and chatting with the guests which was just a lovely experience . Can’t wait till my next trip. P.s I don’t understand the guy who has reviewed ‘eurgh’ - not really constructive feedback mate !!

Overall, meal was lovely. Thick chip's were absolutely amazing & tasty as was fish. Skinny chip's weren't crispy & some were not cooked thoroughly. Macaroni was delicious aswell

Went for Sunday lunch great atmosphere. Ordered Sunday roast which was delish and plenty of it. Wife ordered small mac an cheese which was plenty of for a small portion prices very reasonable think it will be a regular stop from now on.

We stopped off for refreshments on the way to Edinburgh airport. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Best scones I’ve had for a long time, and loved the vintage china in the tea shop area that we were seated in. Close to the car park so very convenient. Highly recommended

Pamela and Steven were super welcoming and the bar is beautiful. It has a traditional look, is really comfortable and with the 40s jazz in the background, we could have stayed all day.
