Aberfolyle Delicatessen and Trossachs Butcher in Stirling

While wandering through Aberfoyle came across this little butchers. Glad we did, the Roll and sausage/ black pudding doubler was amazing, great value for £5 my son had the Steak roll also delicious. No hesitation in recommending this establishment. A wee day out, you have to pop in.

We stopped off in Aberfoyle as part of a Rabbies tour. Our guide recommended several places for lunch and we chose the Deli for a light lunch. There's a very wide range of pies (more than ten, I think) which you can have hot or cold. I had a venison pie and my partner had a steak & black pudding pie, with a piece of cake each and all washed down with tea. It was lovely to sit on the benches outside and watch the world go by. The pies were delicious and we could both have eaten them again! Highly recommended.

Brill service and good value for the money. Very handy for the many cyclists and visitors alike. Not far from the visitors centre.

We came in twice to purchase from this butcher for our week of “self-catering” stay in the Aberfoyle area. What an excellent selection! For different meals we purchased beef, venison, lamb, pork and chicken, all fresh local and top quality. They have a fantastic selection of meat pies, too.

Wonderful Deli. Called in a couple of times during our stay in the area. Everything well presented and the most delicious pies ever!!! You just must try them.

Decided to visit after reading the reviews and it did not disappoint. Pies were amazing, we even went back the next day to get some to take home. Staff were really pleasant and chatty. Has a good selection of other things too. We got the steak and black pudding and steak and haggis pies as well as some cooked ham for sandwiches. All were delicious. Was a nice little find on our trip away.

Had an amazing bap for lunch from here. Proper ham and thick layers of the meat. Very fresh salad. Reasonably priced. Best sausage roll I’ve ever had. Good quality food and service. I’d definitely recommend this to anyone. Also has some nice cake too.

Great bacon or steak rolls, they cut and cook the bacon or steak when you order and cook it. Fresh and hot! Only a couple pic-nic tables outside BUT far better to go up into the Trossachs over the Dukes Pass A821 and the side road to the Three Lochs Forest Drive for a scenic drive and pic-nic. Or go all the way to Callender and eat by the river.

A proper butcher with very friendly service, even when busy. We enjoyed a couple of well-filled, tasty pies for lunch and came home to our self-catering lodge with Scotch Pies (otherwise known as Tuppenny Pies in my family). In 60 years, I've eaten a few of these and can honestly say these were the best I've ever had. Perfect in every way.

Very tasty pies. I had a Scottish pie and it was fantastic. They also have burgers, sandwiches and more. Prices are low and the service is great. Highly recommended!

As a Scot I had fond memories of Scotch Pies. Other places in Scotland had failed to live up to my memories but the pies here were spot on. They were filled and flavoursome. We have stocked up on meat and pies for our return to England. The filled rolls were also very tasty.

Stopped off for lunch following a recommendation from someone nearby and we were very impressed. They have a large selection of pies, pastries, burgers, meats and cakes to name a few. Great value for money given that everything is very evidently fresh. I got a steak and onion roll which was excellent. Would 100% recommend stopping off here.

Fabulous traditional butcher shop with a variety of store made meat pies and wonderful home baked treats. We were staying in Aberfoyle and stopped in the first day to pick up some lunch. Needless to say, we were back again the next day for more.

We were on a bus trip coming through the area. Ended up buying burgers for lunch, haggis for supper and pies for the following day. Perfectly reasonable and would recommend to fellow tourists

This is the best Butchers in the area ,they do all of there own products from sausage rolls to haggis the quality is top notch Staff are so friendly as well Im a Butcher myself and always go here to buy there own made things...

What a butchers. This shop was a delight to be in. The range of fresh meet was great. Then the delictessen counter could have provided you with anough to overeat for months on end. A place to visit on yor lasst day to take something...

Last here on 2016 we made a special effort to visit Aberfoyle for the Butcher. As last time, burgers and pies cooked to order and excellent and good value. Glad time hasn't weakened the offer. Unfortunately, not open Sunday but do see review of Aberfoyle...

If I could give this place a 0 star I would. The attitude of this man is horrendous, being refused service due to medical exemptions of face coverings. Did not even ask for proof of exemption which I would happily have done, just point blank...

Amazing pies, pastries and sweets! Definitely a great place to visit if you’re in the area. The staff were friendly and the choices they had were great.

Came through town with a tour group. Otherwise this place would never have been on my radar. We were the only ones who chose this place dor lunch. Their loss. Really!This was by far our favorite take away during our 11 day visit. The lorne sausage was good...But the bacon roll was the star. It was so good we held up the bus getting two more to go for later.

What a wonderful butchers, bakers and Deli! The meat looked very fresh and we regretted this being the begonning of our holiday as we couldn't buy any of the produce to take home, We did, however, buy a selection of their pies and they were simply fantastic. I live in York so can't be here as often as I'd like but they actually deliver so I shall certainly be placing an order with them very soon. Must mention the staff who knew their produce and were very friendly and efficient.

Popped in for brekkie and had the most delicious bacon rolls! Bacon was cut in front of us then taken through to be cooked. Lovely smokey bacon and an abundant amount! Loads of choices ranging from breakfast to lunch and dinner. Well worth a visit!

The Vension Burger was delicious and good value for the price. Its a local and independent butcher with a great selection. Defo Recommend to go!!

La guida del tour ci ha parlato dei locali in cui avremmo potuto pranzare in città e ho subito scelto questo quando ho sentito parlare di cervo. Ho scelto il cheeseburger di cervo e una bevanda. Ovviamente è super economico se si pensa che si sta mangiando in una macelleria e quindi la carne è molto fresca! L'unica pecca è la quantità di formaggio che ha un po'coperto il gusto della carne. In ogni caso, un panino casereccio molto buono.

Loved their pies, which we ate on a cold September day, while looking out at the sheep just around the corner. Favourite was macaroni & cheese pie. I still dream about it and will go back for more some sweet sweet day.

Second visit to this butchers, we visited to pick up some burgers for a B&Q; we were having, we have been staying locally for our honeymoon. So much choice to choose from, staff are very friendly, would definetly recomend a visit.

Our coach dropped us at the Wool Center and the guide mentioned a couple of pubs as options for lunch. Based on its reviews, we ignored his advice and headed for the Delicatessen. The venison bridie was excellent and very good value. There are seats outside. Highly recommended!

Si viviera allí, creo que comería todas las comidas todos los días allí. Tomé un pequeño pastel de bistec y morcilla y fue increíblemente delicioso, cálido y envuelto para salir y poder disfrutar de una mesa de picnic junto al agua. ¡Realmente tuve que resistir el impulso de volver y obtener más! Une excellente adresse pour acheter a emporter d excellents pies chauds ou froids et de bonnes pâtisseries . Également un petit rayon fromages et boissons. Bref idéal pour un pique nique tres local.

Cuando nos quedamos más cerca, éramos clientes habituales desde la cena de Navidad hasta un pastel. Se mudó a unos 20 kilómetros de distancia nunca realmente feliz con todas las cosas en las tiendas lo han intentado. En Aberfoyle uno te dice que no necesito nada, pero vamos a entrar. Así que ahora salimos y compramos 40 viajes de ida y vuelta. Es muy agradable ver las mismas caras alegres y serviciales. Es un deli para llevar y carnicero con múltiples propósitos.

Stopped here for either a hot roll or pie and to take some butcher meat home, anytime we are in the area. Recommend any of the hot rolls as they are all good. Try the steak and haggi or the venison pies, you won't be disappointed. Then take home a large steak pie, square sausage, venison sausage or black pudding and impress your family.

The wonderful smell of cooked savory pies etc., from the outside draws one into this store. They sell cooked food as well as fresh meat. Even if you are already full you will want to eat one of their cooked products.

What a great place had roast beef roll today was gorgeous yesterday had the venison pie again lovely. My husband had the double beef and cheese burger he said was one of the best he had. Will be definitely visiting this place to try the other products

We stopped off in Aberfoyle on a tour and decided to grab a quick bite at Aberfoyle Deli. Great decision. The steak and onion baguette was, according to my girlfriend, the best steak sandwich she's ever had. I had a steak and egg roll and it was incredible. They slice the steak fresh to order, the onions were great and the egg was perfectly cooked. Added bonus, it was all done in about 10 minutes. Can't ask for more. A+

We went in before cycling the N7 route from Aberfoyle to Alexandria. We watched the bacon being sliced and some minutes later had the most delicious bacon and egg double decker roll with brown sauce I have ever tasted. A pal had a black pudding...

Popped in on Sunday 17 September to pick up something for dinner. Saw some lovely beef olives on display and bought some. When we got home, we found out that we had been given some chopped up lorne (square) sausage with a bit of beef ham around it. Definitely NOT what was on display and definitely NOT beef olives! Absolutely disgusting and inedible! I am shocked by this as it is a real case of ripping off customers and, if I had lived closer, I would have taken them back immediately. So beware!! You might not get given what you think you have bought and what you have paid for.

Cuando ves a varias personas trabajando detrás del mostrador sabes que tiene que ser buena. Abierto siete días a la semana es regularmente ocupado, no me sorprende ya que la variedad y calidad de productos a la venta son excelentes.

Nos llevamos bocadillos para comer, pero una vez que entramos en la tienda, las tartas parecía demasiado bueno para pasar. Mi marido tenía un filete de carne picada y tuve Misa del Gallo y pastel. Ambos estaban calientes y con un tenedor y servilleta. Ambos tenían raro costras e interiores sabrosa y fue maravilloso. Los bocadillos pueden ser el almuerzo de mañana. A menos por supuesto que volver, cuando se ganará de nuevo tartas!

Mi esposo y yo recientemente estuve en Escocia e hicimos un viaje de un día a ver el castillo de Stirling, Loch Lomond y destilería Glengoyne. Nuestro guía/conductor se detuvo en Aberfoyle para el almuerzo. Él sugirió conseguir tartas aquí y lo hicimos. Estaban llenos de carne y cebollas y muy delicioso.

We got two steak and onion baguettes that were to die for. Freshly cooked infront of you in a clean shop. The staff were really friendly. There's lots of choice.

Stopped off today and rather than going for lunch, we decided to get some pies and coffee and sit outside....like the reviewer says below..BEST PIES EVER!!!Go there, not a pie guy, but these were awesome, brilliant service and got some Lamb chops for dinner, meat is superb.Can't fault it..100% recommended

I would recommend their steak pie, which comes in at least two sizes - for two or three people. Everything looked great.

We stopped in Aberfolyle while on a tour of the Highlands and ordered a variety of pies from this butcher shop. OMG - SO good! We bought a pile of various types of pies - curry and mac-n-cheese, steak and kidney pie - and shared them amongst us. No place to sit at the shop and it was rainy and cool that day but were able to eat on the bus. The flaky crust on these pies and the flavorful fillings were such a delight. We've dreamed about these pies in the weeks since we've visited. Highly recommend a stop.

We stopped by to get some lunch while we were on a day tour. The pies are absolutly delicious! I'd defenitly recommend the haggis and the steak pies.

We were staying in Aberfoyle and went in to get a take away, we had a turkey and a lamb filled roll, we also bought a sausage roll and a steak pie, very tasty and would re ommend avisit if you are ever in the area

Popped in for a couple of take out filter coffees, my hubby had a home made steak and black pudding pie, scrumptious!! My daughter and I shared a Brodie (cornish style pasty) all were warm and tasty. Also tried the Rocky Road Cake..yummy..Staff friendly, very popular with locals. Offer burgers, rolls etc, all burgers, pies etc home made. Only thing I would mention is the hygiene issue. The staff serve raw meats and then go and make a sandwich?? No sign of plastic gloves whilst doing this or even washing the hands!! Not great in this day and age.

In a town that is mostly set up for cliché coach tour tourists, we called in here briefly hoping for some decent food. And we weren't disappointed. We had a range of home-made pastry products. Pies and the burger were outstanding and vastly better than I was expecting.

When we want to go for a picnic forget your supermarket processed snacks and get what you want from the Deli and even recently when we're trying to diet they do lovely big brown rolls with loads of salad and whatever filling you choose from the shop it's like a meal in itself, we have also on rainy days sampled their hot pies or sausage rolls Mmm diet out the window, we have bought lots of things you can't get in a normal butcher from them in the past as well as some melt in your mouth biscuits, so if in Aberfoyle you'd be mad to miss out on a visit here

The staff are very friendly, the pies are as delicious as they are affordable. There is a wide range of fillings so there's something for everyone. I especially recommend the haggis and cheesy mash pie. Perfect for haggis lovers or for first-timers.If you're in the area, it's worth making a small detour to get a taste of these pies!

Aberfoyle is not too close to me as I live in Fallin, However, this deli has impressed me from a very early time when we first moved to Falin and we were exploring on the bus and found this just next to the Forth Inn which is also always worth a visit. This is not the cheap butcher you may think, it is not cheap but is fully worth the charge for the products. We bought our Christmas meat here and always buy our slices sausage here, try the venison it is to die for!!! I travel to use this deli and will continue to do so.

We had the frozenvenison casserole. Fantastic taste and excellent value. We went back for more to take home with us. The Scotch pies were great too.

A very good range of local items, which you probably wont find on supermarket shelves, well worth dropping by to try them out.

When we went in here to browse at the small delicatessen we were immediately tempted by the excellent hot and cold sandwich options. It's an excellent place to grab some ad hoc picnic food and it is worth knowing that they offer a postal service for speciality Scottish good such as black pudding and square sausage.

We stopped in the delicatessen after a picking up maps at the visitor center. Grabbed meat pies and sandwiches for our visit to Trossach National Park. Food was authentic, fantastic and affordable. Our kids loved our take away picnic!

We visited this shop for produce for a BBQ the day after our wedding at Altskeith Country House on 5th September. Quality of the meat and fish and cheese we bought was excellent and soon demolished by our guests!

We came here almost immediately after we arrived in Aberfoyle as we were stocking up food for Stronachlachar. I was struck by the appearance of the produce, very handsome and fresh looking, you could tell it was quality. We bought some sausages, which were excellent, but on more than one occasion we gorged on their Cornish pasties which were very delicious.

A great asset to a small village. We bought 2 picnic lunches from here and some fresh Vension burgers from the butcher. Great care was taken to get our order right and it was delicious. I wish we had a similar shop near us at home!

What a wee gem ,they will make breakfast rolls for you too. We bought some haggis to take home and it was lovely ,not too spices sometimes they can be over spiced but our American friends loved it!!

Been a couple of times--I normally use the Aberfoyle butcher for my meat,but today got Steak Pies/cold meats.They were very good and the range is much improved.The Siroins looked particularly good and well aged---will try next time------mid priced.

We always visit the deli when in Aberfoyle. The range and quality of the pies in particular is outstanding. We also bought some mince and beef olives this holiday which were also superb quality. I would recommend this to anyone in the area
