We stopped early for breakfast driving to the Glencoe Mountains. Our food (breakfast egg and sausage ciabatta) was good, but nothing special. It was warm on a cold day; so, that itself was appreciated. It's an order at the counter service and they bring it out to the table. They were efficient, and it wasn't crowded, as we were there around 8:00. The store's prices for goods looked similar, if not a little higher than other stores like Tesco.

Return journey home, dropped by for Lunch. The Positives plenty of choice on the menu, premises clean and staff friendly and efficient. The Negatives 1 bowl of Soup. 1 Macaroni Cheese and a can of soft drink £20plus, really? I appreciate you get what you pay for but you this was ridiculous.!!! Whilst that may be acceptable for the captive customers of the Tourist coaches I consider the Restaurant prices are over the top. Alternatives across the road.

This place really is straight out of New Zealand, amazing vibe, really friendly people, very laid-back and easy-going in every respect. We pulled in here last night to try our luck with a weatherproof cowboy hat And a disposable barbecue, the ideal combination for a freezing cold wet March LOL. We happened to be travelling in a motorhome and they told us we were more than welcome to park up out the back totally free of charge and stay the night. The next day we got up and had a look around the shop and they were really friendly and helpful and even offered us the chance to fill up our water bottles with fresh water. Also the only place in Scotland so far we have managed to track down a proper outdoors hat (after having forgotten to bring mine with me on a month long outdoor tour of the highlands in March) so I am very excite! This town or area really does have a Queenstown New Zealand feel to it but this business itself has a great vibe and is clearly not there just to make money out of people and the staff clearly enjoy working here too. We just want to say a massive thank you to the green welly stop for an amazing stay and thanks for being so welcoming and friendly.

We stop off here several times a year on our way to visit and photograph Glencoe. The Green Welly Shop has been a famous visitor attraction on this road for many decades.Like many other similar attractions it's popularity can make it busy at times and the restaurant queue can seem slow moving especially if you have a bus load of tourists ahead of you trying to decide what to have from the menu. Maybe a little expensive and getting a bit dated in the restaurant area but as other reviewers have said plenty parking space most of the year and clean well kept toilets. Popular tourist shop offers lots of Scottish goods and outdoor clothing section caters for the foot weary doing the West Highland Way long distance path. Don't overlook the adjoining garage shop and cafe for quick takeaway drinks and snacks. Overall a positive review for this stopover and definitely a place to visit as part of a Scottish tourist trip.

If you like conveyer belt style service with no care or quality, this is for you. I’ve been coming here for years and always say I won’t return - this time it’s for definite. It’s clearly set up to cater for tour buses and tourists - the poor Scots and locals don’t seem to get a look in. The soup was nice enough but packed sandwiches bland and poor filling, scone dry and not the best, and the mug of tea was one of the worst I’ve ever had. But the big complaint is the lack of attention to service or customer care. Just get them through as quick as they can seems to be the way. I also couldn’t help but see the staff having their breaks and sitting amongst the customers. Surely they have a staff room they could use? Nothing against the staff but they don’t get a real break as the tourists just see the uniform and don’t give them peace!! Dated seats and tables, no atmosphere and very little privacy. It’s such a shame to see this as I’ve been a big fan of the Welly for years, through popping in when passing with work or as a local biker. They seem to have gone full on tourist and to hell with everyone else. A real shame.

We stopped here on our way to Inverness. It’s a strange place because the gift shops are lovely and modern but the restaurant is very tired and quite old-fashioned. You have to sit at tables with other diners. The food is simple- sandwiches, pasties, toasties, Mac and cheese etc but it is very good. We had cream of mushroom soup- huge bowl with a choice of breads and rolls, then toasties which were served with delicious home-made coleslaw.

I had the most unexpectedly wonderful time here 5 years ago. So happy to have "found" it on the internet. The photos of the snow, wet cold day are unmistakably the same place and blustery day. Oh that soup, being foreigners we had no idea what joyful surprise we were in for, was a home cooked experience that left lasting memories. I just wanted to stop in and say after we enjoyed a very fine meal. every bit of shopping and musing in the shops was a delightful experience. Truly the Green Welly cup of soup is the one that soothes that savage beast. I came back to say hi and thank you even though the drop down menu wouldn't let me go back further than 2018. Stopped by The Green Welly last Thursday on the bikes with friends. It was a handy stop because we could get petrol, have some food, use the toilets and do a bit of touristy shopping. All in one place. The cafe we went in was quite small and was mostly a coffee and cake place, couldn’t really see much in the way of meals but I think we might have been in the smaller of what looked like two eating places. Anyway, they didn’t seem bothered that we were dripping wet so I’m guessing that they’re used to it with bikers and hikers. I would recommend it just as a convenient place to stop in general.

The Green Welly used to be one of the highlights of a roadtrip around these parts, but sadly these days may be coming to an end. Not sure they are set up to cater for the max influx of tourism in the area, but even if they aren't, the culinary quality shouldn't necessarily slip, but sady has. Bland, salty, mass produced, reheated freezer food. These days I'd be tempted to truck on and find somewhere better.

This was our lunch/rest stop on our bus tour and it was the perfect place. First off, I had the MOST AMAZING grilled cheese (it was the brie & cranberry toasty) and they had fountain Coke (not always an easy find overseas). The gift shops were lovely and there was a snack window option outside, if you wanted something lighter than what was being offered in the cafeteria. The cafeteria menu was a bit overwhelming, as they have both on the line and made to order items, so my tip would be to do a walk through and view the menu before getting on the line. The front gift shop staff was especially helpful as I was looking for a particular size of an item and they had it brought out from the back storeroom for me!

Been stopping here for years on our way north and did so again last month. Was really disappointed this time. The decor is dated and it does resemble a motorway cafe in some ways. However, it's the long queues that are the problem. There is no opportunity to get a coffee and cake without waiting behind people ordering food, and there is only one till. Could be so much better organised. carrot cake was dry and didn't appear to be very fresh. On our way home we visited the Real Food cafe across the road it was excellent and I think it's a good thing the Green Welly now has some competition

The scones were nice but the tea was undrinkable, ghastly! The whole place had the feel of a badly run works canteen. The real disappointment, however, was the dirty, neglected ladies toilets for which there is no excuse. There's usually room in the carpark and I don't think there are any time restrictions. The food here is quite good, huge portions, but very expensive for what it is. On our return journey, I ordered a jacket potato with two toppings - and the spud was absolutely huge, so big I could only eat half of it. The various shopping outlets are expensive, so we had previously purchased our boxes of shortbread at local supermarkets which are much cheaper. I had originally fancied a sandwich, but all the available options left didn't really appeal (mostly tuna when we got there!). Trouble is, it's so convenient and a perfect comfort break stop on the way to or from the Highlands.

Just best avoided. Always busy with passing trade so they don’t need to try. Impersonal motorway services feel about the place. There are much better smaller businesses in the area with great service and quality products.

It IS a great place to stop, several shops with decent curious, clean loos, but the prices are completely ludicrous - six quid for a cup of coffee and a cup of tea. I'd love a bowl of cullen skink, but I can't justify the extortionate pricing sorry.

£3:10 for a bog standrard roll on sausage (2 links), wow, tourist trap or not, that’s more than a tad expensive. People vote establishments with their feet & my feet will not be crossing your establishment if this is what you charge, glad I didn’t order a coffee !!

Great place to stop, but others are nearby, Fuel can be bought here if you can afford it.My gripe is the price of food, £3.10 for a roll and bacon?? £9.99 for an 8 item breakfastEven Premier inn is cheaper for an all you can eat. Not the best quality bacon even at the prices charged. A captive audience travelling through should not be taken the piss out of! #justsaying. You are kicking the arse out of it!.....

Yesterday I had the roast beef dinner my son had the cheeseburger. To my disappointment the beef was sliced up cooked beef that is used for sandwiches salads etc. The chemical used to preserve this kind of cooked meat within the viscous cover was evident right through it. Horrid taste. To cap it off my son had the dreaded grey hair halfway through eating it. Argh.Looked around and the queue was at the door so I signalled to the cleaner waitress and walked out. Awful.Disappointing really as I have been here loads of times mainly for cake and coffee and it's fine. Won't have the food again

Stopped here on the way to and from the Isle of Skye. Judging by how busy the place was it is obviously very popular. On the way had lovely sandwiches and coffee and coming back (today) great soup. Four different kinds were on offer. Excellent choice of mains and great portions. Fab choice of cakes too. Great service, spotlessly clean and nicely laid out. Shop adjacent to restuarant. Definately recommended if in area.

Can't pass through Tyndrum without a stop for soup and a roll here (at least). The food is all excellent quality and really tasty - lentil soups and Cullen Skink are to die for. Its well worth timing your journey to be here at lunchtime. It is the perfect journey break - only regret is that they close the main kitchen quite early. The outdoor shop is good with top quality brands though these do tend to be pricy at makers recommended pricing.

It is a nice wee stop which has free of charge bathrooms and a place to eat. However, the food and souvenirs here are quite expensive. But if you're here just for toilet and gas, it's a perfect stop.

How can you pass this up if you’re passing? The Cullen Skink is, without doubt, the best that is to be had. The menu is wide and varied and the quality is excellent. There are many other places in Tyndrum but nowhere else comes close.

Stopped over here on the way on to Luss with my partner and 4 month old daughter. I have stopped at many roadside services and filling stations over the years so the high prices come as no surprise to me. The food itself cannot be faulted in taste or quality as me and my partner both had hot dogs and agreed they were reasonable. However the service is a completely different story. In the shop beside the cafe, there were about 8 people including myself waiting to be served. There was one till on and although this is a busy rest stop with a lot of customers, there was an evidently inexperienced member of staff named Colin behind the till. He stood chatting to a customer at the till as if there was nobody else in the shop until another member of staff was forced to come along and sign onto another till and was able to serve 7 customers in the space of about 5 minutes while Colin fiddled on the till with the same customer. Understandable that he may be unexperienced or slow but shouldn’t be left on his own with a high volume of customers waiting to be served. Leads to frustration and annoyance as well as loss of business as I was contemplating putting all the items back and leaving. I wouldn’t let this sway me from returning however.

As I had a trailer I was having to be careful about where I stopped. There is a magnificent Car Park with areas for Caravans and HGVs.There is a large well appointed cafe - snack bad style tables and benches, but it filled the hole and got the caffeine levels up. There was a reasonable menu. For quick food and good parking a good place. There are also a variety of shops but this time we had not time to browse

We stopped off for lunch at The Green Welly, on the way back from a night away in Glencoe. The Green Welly comprises a three shops and a cafe. The shops offer a selection of better wuality Scottish souvenirs and outdoor wear. The cafe offers a decent selection of hot and cold snacks and meals. We both opted for soup. My partner had Cullen Skink, and I had Scotch Broth. Both came with bread rolls, and both were delicious.A great place to stop off if you’re on the way to Glencoe, Oban, etc.

My self and 3 work friends stopped in for coffee. I have to say the staff are great, the coffee is good and reasonably priced, the shortbread was brilliant. One thing to help the staff, make sure you park cars in the right area of the car park and not where the bikes are meant to park. A special mention to Fiona the boss, she runs a great place.

After remortgaging the house we decided to get some lunch at the Snack Stop. We had lots of money in the bank and decided to use as much as possible. Suffice to say we weren’t let down. Upshot is if you want a ridiculously expensive lunch on paper plates and cardboard cutlery then this is the place for you. £6.50 for a box of 6 sad looking nuggets , £9.99 for a baked potato with 2 fillings. Keep driving past so your kids will get some Christmas presents this year.
