I don’t know what the 4 star average is about. I had a great time at this restaurant as well as some very tasty food and some good drams to top off the evening. Perhaps it’s because I ate in the very cute bar area, where you can order from the full menu, with a fun friendly vibe and tunes from the jukebox. There’s also a tv showing a variety of sporting events. Pool table is also available. Service was prompt and just so friendly!! I loved it here!

Appreciate this is a popular option for West Highland Way walkers and gets very busy but there was nowhere near enough staff to cope, some were really friendly and helpful and others just rude. Hotel is very dated but room was clean and had what I needed. It was very hot with no option to open windows (midges!) and no option of a fan. Good was really good

Dropped in on wet day whilst walking the west highland way. Told to move large packs after we had sat down. Told no options to use power sockets all blanked off but the fruit machine, juke box, plant lights bar staff can charge their items! The food was good although the sliced chicken breast could have been from a packet of pre cooked supermarket Communicate with the walkers - you will lose trade - the power 30 charge box is only fir phones and people use their phones when they stop not put in a small locked box Staff took turns to say you cant do thus or that and generally grumpy folk By the way we were not wet or muddy (or smelly)

Stayed here for one night before assisting at an event that was the next day. Bar staff seemed totally overwhelmed by the volume of customers despite this event being held every year, and overheard them being rude to several customers. Food was ok in the restaurant and the two young girls serving managed very well. The bedroom was basic but clean and the bed was really comfy. My one complaint here was there was only one socket in the bedroom and no mirror. I had washed my hair and even though my hairdryer has an extra long cable it wasn’t long enough to use the mirror in the bathroom. I ended up using the camera on my phone!

Need to change that sign outside. Highland Hospitality - as a Scot, I’m embarrassed if the service I and others received is reflected as that. Families welcome - not really are they. My issue was around the food, service and cleanliness that I addressed and gave a change for it to be redeemed. Indirectly I was embarrassed that a young English family, A German family and a group from the Far East will perceive their poor service to be Highland Hospitality. I understand there are no kids allowed at the bar but communicate it clearly and pleasantly - don’t bark it as you walk away especially 3 times in a row! You were so unclear to them! No greeting as you walk in to the bar - with plenty behind the bar - so that you know what their seating process is about. Tables cleared but not wiped down. Cutlery not provided. Drinks almost finished by the time food arrives. Food orders forgotten, no apology. Watery curry, bland rice, stodgy mash (decent haggis), whisky sauce poor/split. No competition nearby and it shows as the staff just do not care!

This is a smallish Hotel in Tyndrum near the holiday parks etc. Went on the last night at the holiday park for dinner and it was pretty good to be fair, although it was probably still off season. Food was fresh and tasty and it has seating areas where you can take the dog in, bonus. Staff were friendly and pleasant and I'd recommend this place for a meal, whether lunch or dinner. The restaurant wasn't open so sat in the conservatory. I presume the restaurant opens later in the holidays season. Worth a visit.

Our accommodations did not have a restaurant on site and they recommended us visit the Tyndrum Inn's restaurant. This establishment left us with a blend of positive and negative impressions. Located in the heart of Tyndrum, the inn attracted a lively crowd of locals, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. One aspect that stood out was the inn's pet-friendly policy, allowing dogs to accompany their owners inside. It was heartwarming to see furry companions lounging comfortably while their owners socialized. Guests are required to seat themselves and place their orders at the bar, where they also pay upfront. While this approach offers efficiency, it can be inconvenient for those preferring to settle their bill in one transaction. Consequently, we opted to order fewer drinks and skip dessert to minimize multiple credit card transactions. Even though they had sticky toffee pudding. Service from the staff was adequate, though not overly friendly. While they efficiently took our orders and delivered our meals, there was a noticeable lack of warmth in their interactions. As for the food, my spouse ordered the beef burger with chips, which, while satisfactory, didn't offer any standout elements. I opted for the homemade steak pie with mashed potatoes, which provided a comforting and satisfying dining experience.

The staff were really nice and not their fault but the quality and quantity of the food is poor to say the least. The chicken bhuna curry, rice and nan was small and being perfectly honest Asda do a better curry in a box. The fish, chips and peas looked like it was all cooked from frozen, the batter on the fish was burnt, peas were rock hard and chips uninspiring. Unfortunately this experience just reminded me of how poor some Scottish food can be, the place was full of tourists and I dread to think what they made of what was on offer.

Haggis and tatties comes as starter or main. It’s just a bigger portion for mains and works good either ways. Best dish in the house. Steak pie - not the greatest. But big portions and perfect hangover food. Fish and chips - super oily. But again, great drinking/hangover food. Indian curry - tastes just as how an Indian dish a remote Scottish pub should taste, nothing like Indian. But kudos they have this dish. Ambience and service is top notch. All the bikers seem to stop here. Great place for highway pit stop.

I called a couple of days before to make a dinner reservation at the restaurant. I was told that they do not take reservations; that they will not be too busy; that I should just come during the usual opening hours. When arriving, we were told that the restaurant only accepts hotel guests as they are short on staff. Clearly, they should have told me on the phone; my call was 48 hours prior to the planned dinner so they will have known their staff problems.

Warm welcome, great food & a much needed drink. Staff were pleasant & chatty. There was a TV showing football but it wasn't intrusive. We had an enjoyable evening.

Prezzo giusto.

On a brief holiday in the area. We went here for lunch, and really enjoyed the Chicken Tyndrum with haggis and cream sauce. The portions were very generous, and overall the service and atmosphere were very pleasant. Would definitely return just for this dish!

Not a lot of choice in town but this is probably the better one. Clean and warm staff friendly. Food was ok and reasonable size serves.

We stayed in Tyndrum for 5 nights and ate in this inn for 3 of them the staff were very friendly and it was nice to hear the Scottish accents. The Duchars beer was very nice and reasonably priced. Over the 3 evenings we ate the curries the Tyndrum burger and the chilli and enjoyed all of them , wish we had been able to stay.

Cheap single room, ideal. Fish and chips in the bar, ideal. Despite being absolutely rammed out the service was quick and the good sized portion rapidly delivered. Nice one !

We had a drink in the pub before we had our meal. There was a great buzz in the pub and service was very friendly and efficient. The restaurant was quieter, good menu and food was delicious. We began with crunchy Brie which was delectable, followed by Chicken Tyndrum and Homemade Steak Pie both of which were lovely. We had no room for dessert!

Good, varied, choice of food, and excellent service. Restaurant is separate from the pub with booth type seating, and was full when we were there, so need to book ahead.

After remortgaging the house we decided to get some lunch at the Snack Stop. We had lots of money in the bank and decided to use as much as possible. Suffice to say we weren’t let down. Upshot is if you want a ridiculously expensive lunch on paper plates and cardboard cutlery then this is the place for you. £6.50 for a box of 6 sad looking nuggets , £9.99 for a baked potato with 2 fillings. Keep driving past so your kids will get some Christmas presents this year.
