The Potting Shed bistro is a hidden gem. We have been several times over the past couple of years and lunch here makes a lovely day out from our home in Edinburgh. The food is really good and we've always found the service friendly and efficient. It has a quirky, rustic setting which adds to the atmosphere. The menu includes sandwiches and cakes or options for a full lunch. They even tweaked the menu for me. I would definitely recommend for informal eating.

My wife and I celebrated our silver wedding in the summer and a friend bought us a gift card with lunch for 2. The excellent parts: The scenery, the drive along the loch side, the location - simply gorgeous looking out of the window whilst eating. The service. Highly relaxed and informal. Lunch was 2 hours. The Italian waiter was friendly and professional. The food was exquisite. Home baked bread with nasturtium seeded salt in the butter. I had duck, my wife had mackerel to start. Mains were pork for my wife and monkfish for me. Desert was a lick the plate clean chocolate cremeux for me and cheeses for her. The not so excellent parts; Nothing. At all. Fine dining of this quality with cookery skills like this and these flavours to luxuriate in, in this gorgeous setting… for £35 each??? I’ve paid double that in Edinburgh.

TripAdvisor wants me to review this as a restaurant but it's a campsite, with lodges and B&B rooms that also has a bar and restaurant. The food is very good, we had a huge plateful of flavourful homemade pasta, and a steak and Buckfast pie. Delicious, and no skimping on the portions. Although they had the same problem at dinner and breakfast, frequently "closing the kitchen" and not taking any orders for 15 minutes at a time to "clear the backlog". From arriving for breakfast to having our food in front of us was the best part of 45 minutes, just to get two sausage sandwiches. More staff needed? Friendly service though, accommodation was clean and comfortable, loads of space in the B&B rooms and a nice hot shower after a long day on the West Highland Way.

This quiet town (in January) appeared to only house 2 coffee shops for breakfast/ lunch. We tried The Station Coffee Shop. My wife tried the Haggis , cheese and onion chutney toastie and I had the ham and cheese toastie with soup, and we both had the signature soda in Scotland, Irn Bru! Got to try Irn Bru when in Scotland....more popular then Coca Cola! Staff was very friendly and there was a small souvenir area with unique offerings! Our friends enjoyed this pleasant place as well! Right in the heart of Aberfoyle.

Arrived without booking on the first leg of our hike. Arrived ravenous and were shown to an available outdoor table. Staff moved us inside on request when a table came available. Between us we had cow pie, fajitas, soup of the day (mushroom) and chilli con carnie. All delicious. Chilli declared best ever tasted by a seasoned chilli consumer. Approx £20 a head with soft drinks.

Gives off hostel vibes and the main room was really busy. Staff were quirky and got a couple of orders wrong but friendly I guess, food was hit and miss, but overall I though it was a decent offering. Apparently Scotlands most haunted pub so maybe thats why its the way it is. Worth going just to say you've been
