Popped in on a Sunday early afternoon for some lunch with 3 children. We seated ourselves pretty quickly but had to ask for kids menus which took a while for the staff to find. Ordered at the bar for drinks, asked to have one of the kids meal deal drinks as part of the order and told had to order that kids meal now as well. So we placed the order for 3 kids meals (only one to include a drink), 3 coffees, 2 irn bru and a lemonade. £47!!! I think there may be a 10% service charge added, not sure as partner paid and didn't see receipt but seemed very expensive. Anyway we later ordered the adult meals and food came out relatively quickly. However it was a Sunday so we ordered 4 roast dinners, someone wanted steak but that was off apparently. When asked if we wanted anything else, I asked for apple sauce for the pork. Sorry we don't have that I was told. Seriously who serves pork without apple sauce being available? I mean they called it roast pork but it was essentially a pork loin steak with some new potatoes that were dehydrated along with some parsnips and carrots, typical tasteless over sized Yorkshire pudding and some watery oily brown liquid that I guess constitued gravy. I really wouldn't recommend this, I usually finish meals out and I really couldn't with this, partly the portion was mainly stodge and also because it just wasn't great. A bit of quantity over quality for the whole meal. The staff were OK, though not the service you would expect from such a known pub. It's overpriced and staff are just a bit laid back. I think they mean welll but definite lack of direction and no leadership. I won't return for food or probably even a drink. Being quite remote there probably won't be any need to - only been twice (once just for drinks) and only because we had visitors up from down south. With a decent menu and soe enthusiastic staff it could be great. You can't reserve a table and I think this is because they don't really want to do the decent meal out service so maybe just go for drinks, dissapointing.

We came for the ghosts, and left with a full belly. We stopped in while on a road-trip across the country. The breakfast was delicious and the waitstaff were friendly. Got super spooky vibes on the bar side, but not the dining room side. The decor is mostly taxidermy animals and info about the hotel and grounds. Wish we could have arrived for dinner time because the menu is bursting with delicious meals.

Stopping for lunch was a nice surprise. The Inn is historic with plenty of atmosphere. Stuffed animals and birds provide an eerie space in the reception area and of course its regarded as one of the most haunted locations in Scotland. The food and beer were very good. Their BIG downfall in the pub are the sticky tables, UGH!

Came in at the end of breakfast service..."too late" they said. Then we asked for just americano with hot milk..."we don't do hot milk" they said. Then the server walled away. Someone else came and we asked if they had a microwave to heat the milk... "yes" they said. Meanwhile, they served so.eone else a latte (which is made with hit milk). Clearly a press-button machine. Two americanos with lukewarm milk later I went to the ladies loo (which was absolutely filthy). Partner paid for coffee at over 7£ and, adding insult, they charged us 10% service. Won't go back there.

I wasn’t around in 1705. Missed that by a few years, but a sing at the doorway indicates the inn and pub have been around for more than three centuries. Plenty of time to hone their skills. The food and service are superb. Unless you have certain food allergies, ask the server for recommendations. I was pleased and would like to have returned for another meal, but our tour group had to move on to another destination. Great pub grub and Scottish cuisine.

This pub is such a bizarre place that you just have to come and see it for yourself! It's so old that it's not even vintage, but more like heritage :)I stayed at the Inn and I can say that everything was very clean and proper, but not very modern (except the bathroom). Good selection of beers, microwaved but tasty food. But I have to stress out that the breakfast was phenomenal! Properly cooked porridge and well prepared poached eggs!

Tiere, Rüstung, Bilder ecc. alles durcheinander ausgestellt. Immer wieder entdeckt man etwas neues. Essen......sehr gut. Alles recht flott, Personal serviert im Kilt!. An manchen Abenden Livemusik. Schlafen würde ich empfehlen nicht in diesem Pub direkt (ältester Pub von 1705, Zimmer eher rustikal mit WC am Gang) sondern auf der gegenüberliegenden Straßenseite. We stayed here whilst doing our walk on the west highland way and felt we had to do it for its quirkiness. The inn is dark and full of stuffed animals but the place is buzzing. Food was really good and the staff were very friendly. The room in the inn itself was not the best but if they are going for the same theme as the rest of the inn (ie shabby and dated) it works perfectly. However, the room was a good size and the breakfast was good. At least I can say I have done it! Would I stay there again? Probably not.

We were on our Way To Kames in Argyll & Bute, and decided to drive by The Drovers Inn for a spot of lunch, I was aware that it is a busy we place to eat as I have passed it several times, for both business and pleasure and it always seems busy, Anyway it was fairly early in the lunch time and we managed to get a table without any booking, Probably just at the right time as it started to fill up about 15 minutes after we got in. The building is fantastic and very authentic and it has character all of its own. Of course our main reason for the visit was to have some lunch. In which we ordered, The staff were ever so friendly and extremely thorough ..And we were made most welcome, And all seemed to be enjoying their work. We will make a return trip next time we are in the area. If you are spending an evening just for a wee drink, They have a splendid selection of Malts,, Gins & Beers, along with the more traditional drinks, Perhaps however offering some Pineapple juice could be handy.

It is a great building with a fantastic part on their website ( go to 'ghost' in the menu), but I think they are continuously fully booked and don't see a reason to keep everything on a high level. The receptionist was not very kind and service-oriented. We were booked in a room across the road, which dissapointed my partner very much. It would be nice to give a notice about this when booking. I was oke with this other building as it was quite new and I think much more comfortable then rooms in the original building (which is in a very bad shape). Sitting on their terrace in the sun was lovely and they have great beer: Drovers blond. On the plus side, quirky building and decor that will make you smile. Also, the staff were lovely, enthusiastic and friendly. The accommodation is pretty ropey though - even our recently redecorated room had a cracked, badly fitting window. The shared bathroom had a dangerously scalding shower that was difficult to control and negligible water pressure for the bath. Food was a pretty poor version of standard pub menu circa 1985. All in all, the impression was of a place that desperately needs investment and which only survives as a result of a lack of local competition and a captive market of West Highland Way walkers.

You can take your dog inside as long as it's on a lead. All in all it's worth visiting. Also great place to stop if you are walking the West Highland Way.

Popped in to see if there was a table available for 5 as we hadn't made a booking, the waitress could see we were knackered from climbing a nearby Munro so offered us a quieter room separate from the bar which was very thoughtful. Service was quick even though the bar area was packed. Best steak pie I've ever eaten considering it's what I always order. £17 for big portion with loads of veg and gravy and a pint, bit steep but well deserved. Friends ordered the small mac n cheese which was loads, even for the boys! Fantastic wee haunt even though the toilets are a bit grubby, was a bonus to sit in the quieter room and avoid all the tourists taking photos!

Our tour group stopped in for a pint on the way back to Glasgow. We enjoyed the ale and sat and chatted for quite some time. The atmosphere was old and unique. They still have lit candles on the tables and everything just looked like you would expect it to. The staff was very nice. Worth a look.

We stayed in the block across the road from the main hotel. The room was small and basic but comfortable. Bathroom very small and no window but fine. Bar is very busy and small so ordering food at the bar is a bit mad and takes a really long time! Staff very nice though and friendly. Meal was good and breakfast was also great. Packed lunches are expensive for what you get, feel they need to bring the price down! Chicken sandwich was big lumps of chicken with no mayo or anything. But overall a good experience and the place has lots of character!

Stopped off here having been told it was worth seeing as it’s ‘different ‘. Yes it’s unique as it’s full of taxidermy. Very interesting for a couple of minutes. We then ordered dinner. We ordered the Large Sunday dinners which was advertised as pork with ‘all the trimmings ‘. I’m not sure what the trimmings were. It was pork, 4 very small over cooked dry roast potatoes (think the size of 2 new potatoes cut in half), 2 Yorkshire puddings (I’m assuming having 2 instead of 1 made it the £2.50 extra and large?) carrots, parsnip and barely warm gravy. For £11.50. It was quite frankly crap. I was gutted. And still hungry afterwards.

On a through road, with ample parking space. Enter into the world of 19th century Scotland. Staff in kilts and a large selection of old stuffed animals. Live music by a local singer with his guitar playing all kinds of folk music.

Original place with a plethora of stuffed animals and hunting trophy’s. Friendly staff. Nice atmosphere in the bar. Unspectacular food and 1970’s standard lodgings. Not sure the cleaner comes every day!

This pub was recommended as a great place to stop as we headed to Glencoe and we are so glad we did. It had a great atmosphere - felt very much what we expected of a "Scottish pub". We had a nice lunch and the staff was very friendly. After spending 2 weeks in Ireland and Scotland, we have become quite the connoisseurs for Sticky Toffee Pudding - and this was the best our entire trip! Just that alone was worth the stop for us!!

The Drover's Inn is certainly very Scottish. It is predominantly a shelter for the walkers on the West Highland Way. It is unbeatable for the walker who has 15 miles or more in its bones if you can get a nice beer at a very typical and down to earth pub in a region of the Highlands where there are otherwise not many alternatives.

Had dinner one night after a road trip the food was delicious and served quickly, rather pricey but that was expected due to the location. The staff were friendly enough, However, I personally found all the taxidermy to be off putting so didn't linger when our meal was finished. Great atmosphere where lots of different accents could be heard.

This is one of the coolest places I have ever been to. There is so much character and the food was out of this world. We started with the spectacular Haggis, Neeps and Tatties. Two of us had the Sunday roast which was absolutely to die for. Huge portion and probably the best lamb I have ever had in my life. The Mac & Cheese was also fantastic. The food was just amazing and the service was even better. Everyone was so friendly. Cannot wait to return!

A friend recommend this place when they heard we where heading up to Loch Ness and I am glad they did or we would probably driven straight past, this place is great the inside is full of taxidermy and other strange artefacts so great photo opportunities. the staff were helpful and friendly (men in Kilts - awesome) and place has a really good vibe despite it been early 11.45am when we arrived for lunch the menu was good and we both ordered burgers which were really meaty and really tasty so would recommend these - it got busy the longer we stayed and we saw they did live music on an evening I get this impression this would be good fun - if we every head up that way again we'd certainly returns other thing on the menu we'd want to try

We stopped here after a full day of hiking the West Highland Way with rain in the end - and welcomed the unquie atmosphere. You are welcomed by a bunch of stuffed animals of all sorts and can sit in a rustic charmed bar room. Our group only took a drink (warm and cold ones), so can't judge on the quality of the food or the hotel/hostel.

Really interesting inn and pub, and a good pit stop if you are out that way! Dog friendly too and the staff were lovely. My other half enjoyed his haggis, neeps and tatties. I got Mac and cheese which was basically boiled pasta with a chunk of melted cheese on top, and a warm can or diet irn-bru. Disappointed with my meal but wouldn’t put me off giving it another try.

After remortgaging the house we decided to get some lunch at the Snack Stop. We had lots of money in the bank and decided to use as much as possible. Suffice to say we weren’t let down. Upshot is if you want a ridiculously expensive lunch on paper plates and cardboard cutlery then this is the place for you. £6.50 for a box of 6 sad looking nuggets , £9.99 for a baked potato with 2 fillings. Keep driving past so your kids will get some Christmas presents this year.
