We decided to go for a walk up in Aberfoyle and went here for some lunch. We were warmly welcomed, and our order was taken promptly. Food was delicious (burger and macaroni) Staff were fantastic. Only 2 working when every table was full. They did great! They welcomed our wee soggy wet dog in (even though he barked.. sorry about that!) Would definitely recommend and come back. This is a wee homely pubgrub place and it's right up our street.

First time at The Forth Inn and we were not disappointed. The food was AMAZING. Each plate was brilliantly cooked, tasty, and generous food. All meat and fish was tender and succulent, with veg and sauces to die for. The kids meals were amazing too, best food they’ve had in a long time, my daughter particularly raving about her pie and the tender steak. Service courteous and helpful, checking details of dishes for us. We’ll definitely be back Hands down the best restaurant in Aberfoyle.

The staff was very friendly, the decor cosy but the food and drinks massively overpriced. Unfortunately in regards to the quality and quantity of the food, the price asked isn't justified. On the same day, we are the same food in a similar establishment for half the price. ☹️

We stayed at The Forth Inn for one night during a road trip around Loch Lomond. The location is great for visiting the Trossachs National Park and Loch Lomond. Staff were very welcoming and friendly throughout our stay and were very accommodating of our dog. We ate in the restaurant/bar on the evening which has a lovely atmosphere and the food was great, although slightly expensive for pub food we thought. The room we stayed in was quite dated decor-wise but everything was clean and tidy and it had everything we needed. The bedding and towels were of poor quality. Breakfast was great! Overall our stay was decent for what we needed and standard to be expected for a room in a pub. We would definitely return to the pub but not sure if we would stay again without a little updating.

I’ve been here ever year since 2007. And not once have I had a bad experience. The staff are fantastic and very professional. We travel from Wrexham and some times due to traffic etc we may end up running past our check in times. On the odd occasion Lee has waited for us to make sure we were fine before he went home! The food is the best around the area! Venison casserole when it’s on, is arguably in the top 5 tastiest meals I’ve had. Me and my family are very appreciative of the staff who haven’t really changed since my first visit! I’ve had some great memories here and wish to have more!

Dreadful place. The floor in the bedroom and shower room creaked and felt as though it was going to collapse. The decor was all mismatched and had a 70s/80s vibe! Not what we expected for the price. Didn't bother staying for the prepaid breakfast which wasn't available until 8.40.

Now I really wish we had taken the name of the young lady that look after us. She provided us with the best service that we experienced anywhere during our Scottish holiday. The place has had a tough time during covid. The mattress might be a little soft for some people but the room was clean and tidy. The food was great, during dinner and breakfast. Good portions sizes but a little too big for us. Good value for money.

Unfortunately my evening was slightly ruined by a “lady” on another table who was being very rude to the staff. She obviously doesn’t know her food very well as she expected a smoked salmon salad to be cooked. A member of staff was doing everything he could to explain to her and help her but she just kept talking over him. She then went on to be rude to every other member of staff even reducing one young female to tears. She wouldn’t even listen to the chef and was rude to him as well.I don’t often write reviews but felt I needed to after this awful woman left an unfair bad review.

Popped in to the Forth Inn with my brother and wife, and asking for table inside for 4 and bluntly told by person behind bar, only tables outside if you can find one.Well went out side and manged to find table, but was littered with last persons dishes and glasses, went and found waitress, and asked firstly was it table service, and told yes, asked for table to be cleared and could we have menus, and told will be with us shortly, waited 10 minutes, and again spoke to another waitress, attending table next to us, could table be cleared, and could we have menus, again told would be with us, well further 10 minutes, and we cleared tables by ourselves to empty table next to us, and eventually , managed to get waitress , and he took our drinks order, and again said we had already asked on three occasions for menus, and said would take drinks order, and bring back menus straight away, well waited further 10 minutes and no drinks or menus had arrived, by this time we were not waiting any longer, and got up and left.A) I do understand place was very busy, but there is no need to keep ignoring customers, as quite a few waiters serving outside, and no need to treat customers in this way. ( Good Customer Service we should have been shown to empty table and menus given to us by waitress, and table cleared of dirty dishes and glasses, and table cleaned )B) The way I was spoken to by the male serving behind the bar, again was apalling.C) We went across the road to The Faerie Tree Inn, and were shown to a table outside, and service was first class from the minute we entered, and a excellent meal.Sorry but The Forth Inn has to look at customer service, and how they treat there Customers.

We stayed here for just one night on our way to the Kintyre Peninsula to break the journey up. We arrived quite late and they had finished serving food but very kindly made us a meal anyway, which was delicious. Our room was very small, especially with 2 dogs but it was clean and bright and more than sufficient for our brief stay. There is a pleasant walk by the river which leads past the children’s playground just across the car park at the rear of the hotel. All the staff were warm and friendly and the chef especially so, with recommendations on where to go and routes to take during our holiday. All Covid precautions were adhered to with a separate entrance and exit, staff in visors/masks and hand sanitisation points. Breakfast was amazing and the kind young waiter very attentive and professional. Dogs are welcomed with open arms here, not merely allowed or tolerated as in other places we have stayed. We would definitely stay here again and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to friends and family.

This was an overnight stay last night 03.09.20 whilst visiting the Trossachs.First impressions really good with social distancing and sanitisation evident. Checked in and were taken to Room 1. VERY small unfortunately. Struggled to walk around the tiny dbl bed let alone anything else. Strangely the bathroom was huge! Very old furniture and bedding. The one pillow each we got were flat as pancakes and smelled of a hundred previous heads that had slept on them. Awful. We had booked dinner and had overheard the staff say they were fully booked in the rooms so we knew we couldn’t ask for another room. Dinner service was excellent and for my husband the steak pie was so good he ate every scrap. For me the risotto was very strange. I’ve never had a LUMP of risotto that I had to slice before or that came with a gravy on the side of the plate that was full of fresh lumps of chilli. It was one of the worst meals I have ever had. Needless to say I didn’t eat it and they took it off the bill. After a predicted terrible nights sleep for us both we had high hopes for breakfast which did not disappoint. A big plateful of a full Scottish was excellent, plenty of tea and toast and nothing to much trouble for the staff again.Wouldn’t stay again but we would go for a breakfast!

We went for dinner and had a great time. We took our dog with us and they are very dog friendly. There is a large dining room in a mock Tudor style which is a bit of fun, and the staff were fantastic!! The food was lovely and really reasonably priced, I would definitely recommend the chocolate cake! If you’ve been out for a day walking and need somewhere dry and welcoming to refuel after a long day I would definitely recommend. There was hand sanitiser everywhere you needed it, and lots of amendments to keep us COVID safe, but still keeping an enjoyable dining experience.

We decided to eat here one night when staying in Kinlochard, and had a great dinner - I had the bacon mac and cheese which was delicious and filling, and it was a massive portion as it came with salad and garlic bread. Very much needed on a cold rainy evening! The staff were incredibly friendly, and the great hall was very impressive and made for a great place to sit and eat!

4 of us had dinner here, staff are lovely, polite and helpful we all had fish and chips which were tasty but fish was very small and only a handful of chips certainly not worth £12.95pp must have been all that was left as we had saw others earlier eating their meals and the dishes were almost double what we were served

We are very lucky to live near the Forth. We ate here on Monday evening and it was absolutely outstanding. The chicken special was delicious, and my husbands fish & chips looked amazing (they were so good he wouldn’t let me try them). The Sticky toffee pudding was a perfect end to a perfect meal.We ate at a socially distanced table in the big hall high has a nice atmosphere while still being able to keep all the tables at a safe distance. The food at the forth is always excellent, as are the wonderful, friendly staff. It is so nice to see it open and busy.

We’ve been here a few times over the years when visiting Aberfoyle, but dinner last night exceeded our expectations. We were seated in the function hall, so plenty of space. Staff were efficient and knowledgeable and all 3 courses were delicious and nicely presented. Will definitely visit for dinner again next time we are in the area.

We've popped in a few times for drinks the last few days with the weather being nice and the drinks being well priced. We decided to come for dinner tonight with the weather being worse than usual. The service was really fast and all staff were friendly and safe with covid-19 precautions in place. Food service was fast and really delicious. One of our party members is vegetarian and didn't enjoy the items on the menu, so the kitchen provided alternatives not on the evening menu for this member which is really great customer care - and they really enjoyed their food! We also enjoyed large steaks, cooked perfectly, really delicious. With the 50% off government scheme I expected the portions to be small but they were large and filling! Can't recommend more and we will definitely be visiting again!

Stopped here while staying at the rob Roy hotel for a few drinks one evening, nice staff even welcomed to come and sit inside with the dog but we were happy sitting outside. (Even though there were loads of midges). Will come back some day.

My partner and I visited here on Saturday evening. The social distancing measures in place were excellent with tables very well spaced out and servers wearing correct PPE, track & trace also in place which gave us peace of mind. Food was great, proper pub grub, we would return again when in Aberfoyle!

After remortgaging the house we decided to get some lunch at the Snack Stop. We had lots of money in the bank and decided to use as much as possible. Suffice to say we weren’t let down. Upshot is if you want a ridiculously expensive lunch on paper plates and cardboard cutlery then this is the place for you. £6.50 for a box of 6 sad looking nuggets , £9.99 for a baked potato with 2 fillings. Keep driving past so your kids will get some Christmas presents this year.
