The best restaurants serving British food in Scotland

Service was exceptional all the waiting staff are amazing!! All super helpful and friendly made us feel at home as soon as we walked in As for the food not one thing out of place from the presentation to the taste even had a sneaky look at other people's plates as they were served and seen that the standard in the place is very high I will be returning very soon as didn't get a chance to try any of the cakes that look to die for!!

Very disappointed with our first visit for a while.We used to visit for lunch and to buy our plants on a regular basis, no complaints, but today we hadn’t a good experience. We ordered a small roast gammon & a small macaroni. The gammon was very tough, macaroni was quite black on top. The lady who was going to serve me said she would be back shortly but didn’t return. Then a man came and said he would be back. He did return and did serve us. When I went back with gammon two of the staff seemed to be having a disagreement about something. I explained to a lady about the food and asked for a small macaroni for my husband. She served it with carrots, cauliflower and one black potato. The macaroni was edible once we removed the black on the top. Feel it wasn’t really £22.58.

El servicio en este salón es generalmente bastante pobre, sin embargo, hoy fue excepcionalmente malo. La señora en el escritorio (nigeriana) y sirviendo debe pensar en una carrera diferente. Evitaría este chippy. Caro para la porción. Traté de pedirle a mi papá un pescado especial. Responder no hagas pescado especial. ¿Cena de pastel picado? No me queda nada a los 17. 30 ! Pedimos pescado que era más rebozado que pescado. Blackpudding fue el más pequeño que he visto. ¡No volveré! De vuelta en Glasgow porciones mejor y de mejor calidad. Debería llamarse Rank Mike's.

We had a lovely meal here, the vegetarian options were great - I had a sweet potato, red onion and seed tart with chips and salad and it was delicious! The interior is gorgeous, it's clean and modern yet still has old fashioned touches. I will definitely be back!

The fish was so over cooked it was inedible. And there was dozens of bones in it. Avoid at all costs.

Gorgeous outdoor dining which is what attracted us on a hot July day after Loch Ness shops nearby. Tiny menu and pretty expensive, cashing in on the tourist trade I assume. Ordered a cheeseburger for £15 and to say it was basic is an understatement. The chips were like nothing I’ve ever seen, looked like someone had hacked away at a potato. We also had a tuna melt panini, could have played a long game of “spot the filling”, disgraceful for a £10 panini. First time I’ve paid £6 for a 330ml tin of IPA. Service was sloppy, the young lad looked like he wanted to be anywhere else and could barely be bothered to speak. The only redeeming feature was shortbread which was delicious but at £4 for a small slice - so it should be! I can only assume they are not relying on repeat custom and cashing in on tourists who will pay the prices, just for the location.

Please do not eat here unless you want to be in toilet next day if hillwalking take plenty toilet roll with you .6 off us went at least 2 complaints made every night wether cold in middle or waiting 90 min after starter for main meals

Tuvimos una visita muy desagradable en este establecimiento. Al entrar, mi amigo se alejó un paso más del cartel de “espera a que te sientes” para hacer algo de espacio, y fue inmediatamente burlado por un camarero. Después de ordenar, nuestras bebidas fueron traídas después de unos 15 minutos, y se nos pidió que paguemos en este punto. Consideramos esto raro pero felizmente agradecido. En retrospectiva, creo que esto se hace para evitar que los clientes se vayan después de hacer el pedido. Esperamos por nuestra comida (2 hamburguesas) durante unos 40 minutos! Había otros clientes, claro, pero la mayoría de ellos solo recibieron pasteles de la caja, solo 2 - 3 mesas aparte de nosotros pedidos en la cocina. Qué bueno que estábamos absolutamente hambrientos cuando recibimos nuestras comidas, ya que ambas hamburguesas estaban muy secas e insípidas, y de lo contrario se habrían quedado sin comer.

Avoid like a Covid Out Break, First impressions of the out side was what the Hell have we booked , its tired and outdated exterior greated us, As we walked in to the main entrance we were greeted with a closed reception desk with a closed blind and a smell I have never encountered before, and I've done a few jobs in my life. We made the decision to ask at the pub next door about our booking and to be fair the bar made was nice I can't falt her, she gave us the room key and told us where to go but they weren't serving food this night, thank God the local Indian restaurant got our custom. On inspection of the building it was as tired on the inside as it was on the outside. The floor was moving in places under the carpet. Fire door not closing on the landing and the fire escape door on our floor would need to be kicked open in the event of something happening. The room was clean but am glad am close to my partner as the toilet door in our room slid close and we had to put the TV up loud when It was in use. We never went for breakfast, so we could make a quick escape in the Morning. It's well over priced for what you get.

Hugely disappointed to say the least. Fish portion was not much bigger than a tiddler in all honesty, little meal at a big price, in excess of £12. A long wait as well to get the meal, staff chatting and talking at the counter and my fish was not put in the fryer for at least 5 mins. Once is enough, never again.

The coffee is exceptionally good as you'd expect from a coffee shop. The cheesecake is a revelation, although I've been a veggie for 35 years, I've never knowingly had a vegan cheesecake before, it was superb. The bookshop is fantastic, I could spend hours in that shop.

Stopped off for a breather during a drive from Glasgow to Oban. Great view. But don't go inside! The place is pretty filthy: contact of any kind with the floors was not a good idea. Didn't smell great either. Staff definitely not in line with the usual friendliness of the Scots. Drank my coffee with much trepidation, and left. Stayed away from the food.

Buena vibra sobre el lugar, el personal servicial, la comida también era buena, el lugar era amplio y limpio , . La comida era de un nivel decente, no es ingeniosa para cenar, pero ¿por qué? Plato principal sobre la marca de £ 15.

Just wanted a quick meal early evening, really helpful service, very clean and obviously the fish was cooked to order, three of us with our 90 year old father in law who enjoyed every bit, as we all did. Fish n chips is really nice if its cooked right an this was, nice crispy batter and no grease. Thanks
