The Rex Cafe in North Lanarkshire

Ridiculous waiting time and not properly reflected when ordering. Ordered at 6.35pm, delivered at 8.20pm. Looks like a common theme going with the reviews.

Was waiting ages didn’t come till ten to 4 ordered it at 2 sauce is missing

Our delivery arrived before the estimated time, it was wrapped securely and in a sealed paper bag, the driver was friendly and polite, everything was ok, nothing special tho, it wasn’t the warmest either but to be fair im 2-3 miles away and it was rush hour so not the restaurants doing

Over 3 hours still no food, shop not answering phone and the app says it been delivered which is very sneaky such poor service which is a shame I used to like it too

food still hot all the way to Bellshill, best fish av had In a long time as the chip shops av tried recently there fish is very thin and batter only , this was good quality fish and I could only eat half , chips were fresh and tasty too

Pizza was practically cold and not cooked thoroughly also pizza had hardly any cheese all you can taste is the sauce which again hasn’t been cooked through!! Never buying again can’t even eat

2 deliveries within a week from here and a big difference in food, must have been a change in fryer tonight. batter on black pudding didn't look fully cooked, (put it in the ayr fryer to crispen it) chips hard round the edges

Ordered 2 fish suppers only got 1 got sausage supper said are you sure I no what I ordered and on the slip on bag said 2 fish suppers not be going back to the rex had there last order from me been to many mistakes from them lately

pizza was great & very enjoyable

pizza was soggy and wet, couldn't even lift it without it falling apart. love these pizzas toi but worst yet, I put it down to delivery time, as app said delivered by the due time but 15mins late

Requested salt, vinegar and sauce on suppers but they arrived dry and cold. Drink did not arrive with order, phoned and was told it would be dropped off, still waiting. So a dry cold supper with no drink, a Saturday night treat!

I'm not impressed by the quality of this order it was extremely greesy and the chips were unbeatable could not eat them I took pictures they were that bad I will not be ordering from here again as I paid good money for nothing it went in the bin

Pizza had a soggy base not good

Called in to get the 'meal deal 1', the chicken burger option. Woman on the phone said no bother. Got a call back 2 minutes later informing me that the chicken burger is no longer an option, only the regular burger. Then why is it still advertised on their shop window and on their website as of 4/10/2024? Extremely annoying. Ended up canceling the order and ordering somewhere else.

Food was very poor, chips were reheats and full of scraps, the rest were most definitely reheated and the batter on the fish & sausages were like rubber, this is 2nd time in the last few weeks the food has been very poor, £40 for dinner and most of it was inedible, sorry but I’ll be ordering elsewhere from now on, despite complaints about poor quality food, nothing seems to get done about it!

we got a smoked sausage supper and it was lovely and hot and sausage was delicious and chips were cooked just the way we love them... highly recommend the Rex Chippy 10/10 👍

Food was disgusting & freezing cold, couldn’t even bite into the batter on the fish, the special fish was brick hard and more breadcrumbs than fish, half pizza supper was half cooked and chips were just full of ends, total waste of money, only place the food was fit for was the bin!

Usually love here got a mixed kebab .. chicken was cold .. asked for no salad as a can’t stand cucumber came with the salad .. asked for a biscoff slice instead a received a white Carmel shortcake slice

the food was alright but they didnt have some of the stuff we ordered which is fine usually places call and say what they can exchange it for but we didnt get a call from them and they just added stuff in which was nice but they gave us the same slush one that i really hate and they gave us different cakes which again was nice but they added the cakes my partner chose into it again which i really hate so i could only eat the pizza and the milkshake which kinda sucked

My fish was cold. I asked for brown sauce and salt and vinegar on all items. It was incorrect I phoned the shop to ask if I had recieved the correct order as it was wrong. the person working thought she hung up the phone. But was still connected and I could hear her speaking about me. I order from here a lot but it’s put me off if I’m honest.

Unusually, dinner was disgusting chips were inedible as they were so over cooked and black pudding was so hard could hardly get cutlery through it hence to say it all went in bin after a couple of attempts to eat it. I would have rather waited and got fresh food than what was delivered😢

Just had a lovely takeaway. Special fish was excellent - not dry at all and the smoked sausage was great. Chips were food too. Will order again.

Food was piping hot, best tikka I’ve tasted in a long time, so fresh. Amazing value for money and the delivery driver was a lovely man who took the time to have a wee chat.

Pizza was delicious as always but the best part of this experience was martin the delivery driver. What a lovely lovely gentleman. Chatty and friendly. I'd order again just to say hi to him, he made my day.

Been here a couple of times used to be good. Tonight for whatever reason food was poor none of us finished our food. Hope its a one off bad experience.

Order was thrown against the bottom of the front door by the delivery driver. Shop staff were very apologetic but owners not available to take complaint. Terrible service.

Large chicken tikka kebab and a mixed kebab, both excellent with plenty of eating in them both

Pasta had no taste at all wouldn’t recommend it but the munchy box is good value for money

my food order was rubbish the food went in the bin as the fish was cold the chip were pure white uncooked and cold very disappointing as this was dinner and I am a diabetic and will never be ordering again

Awful, dry cold piri piri chicken burger, no sauce option, shockingly bad food.

We used to use the rex. However, the opening hours and staff attitude are shocking. 8.30pm on a 10pm close and nothing left. Just rubbish tbh

Was absolutely shocked with the fish supper last night. What happened to the big box it usually came in? It was presented in a small polystyrene tray wrapped in paper which stuck to the tiny fish. Last time I saw fish that size they were swimming round in a bowl. To add insult to injury it was cold.
