I've gotta say, for a Spoons this place was lovely! Food quality was great, and quick. And I think this is the first Spoons I've went to where you didn't have to climb a mountain to get to the loos 😂 would actually come back here next time out Motherwell way

Plenty of choice of drinks, food is ok and a good range of basic meals and snacks. Excellent service and very fair pricing.

Our first real stop for food/drinks in Scotland. Great food, decor was historical and related to the area. Perfect place to Brunch in my opinion. Starting the Scotland Experience off with a BANG.

Ok, Wetherspoons does the basics pretty good, chicken strips, garlic cheesy bread, ( the fab deep prawns that are no more🍤 ) good plates of nachos when there is ample cheese and a pretty decent curry…. So I am told. I have never been here more since they have brought in the Ramen soup, it’s fabulous and I have eaten many ramens all over. It has a deep, gorgeous, slightly spicy flavour, really fresh and makes you want to go for a sleep afterwards. it is the most comforting of broths and so pleased you are doing it….. forget fish and chips this is a game changer for the winter, just brilliant ( remove the red onion, doesn’t work head office London)

Not the best, not the worst wetherspoons I've been to. Typical spoons value. Very limited real ales options at this venue, which was disappointing. Staff were confused to what they had and didn't have on draught. The plates after we had finished sat on tables for ages before they were cleared.

Never get the right answer no matter how many variation

Rather large but still comfortable Wetherspoons pub. It's clean and well run. The food was very good and at prices that can't be beaten. Enjoy coming here when in the area. It's a good all rounder, right in the town centre.

Staff polite very well safe until some people don't sit down, apart from that is really good. Xxx

I’ve had the pleasure of enjoying good quality drinks (for example Pimms No 1, and a variety of real ales), and indeed fine dining at the Brandon Works Wetherspoons Restaurant located in the heart of Motherwell town centre. By all accounts this very long established 'perennial’ Wetherspoons Restaurant remains as popular as ever. Patrons’ benefit from this pleasant large capacity diner/pub in terms of dining/standing space. Very much a spacious establishment located in Motherwell’s sometimes bustling town centre. On approaching this fine eatery, one is met by colourful seasonal planters, to compliment the large alfresco dining experience. In addition free wifi, inside and out. Wetherspoons at Brandon Works remains a long established Traditional Scottish Pub/Restaurant chain with a patently obvious growing popularity amongst not only their regulars, but passing tourists and other first time visitors alike. Also catering for functions weddings, funerals, office parties and the like. First impressions inside though, I was delighted to see several draft real ale (hand pumped) choices. Not only did I take advantage of their very helpful try before you buy policy (in terms of real ale), I also took advantage of the almost unbelievable low cost price of these superb real ale actual prices (at under two pounds [£2] a pint, I believe these low cost ales remain unsurpassed in terms of value at Brandon Works including; Abbot Sharps amber ale Belhaven 80 shilling Saltaire blond All of the above fine ales for less than two pounds [£2] per pint, a bargain often unheard given actual great consumer value in this respect. In addition to providing great value ales' and square meals', I also found a good range of other popular brand name spirits’, wines’, bottled/draught beers’, cocktails ciders’ vermouths' and traditional pub snacks. Moreover, a variety of non alcoholic beers and spirits to boot [for those unlucky enough to undertake driving home taxi duties]. With my evening ‘tipple’, I very much enjoyed a large glass of Pimms No1 cup, as ever perfectly garnished to my specification with seasonal fruits including ripe strawberries, a real treat and would recommend, especially now that we are already in the tennis grass court season. As my main course, I was served a traditional Scottish mixed grill, which was perfectly cooked, I assume baked, which was perfect for both me, and for any other health conscious individuals who happen to choose this hearty dish. Which also had an even heartier larger mixed grill option. I have no doubts that this particular grill was the best I had ever tasted (albeit with no liver included), well done head chef, a real credit to his profession, as was his commis chef L. With quality lunches, and indeed very extended opening hours from 8 am till late most days who can complain. Gratuities are of course discretionary. I observed that all dishes were seasonally garnished by their esteemed head chef and his likeable commis chef. Both these gentlemen, as well as being great chefs, were also polite, and faultless. The decor was good, fresh and modern adding to the overall ambience of this particular establishment. A large pleasant dining area was outside for those preferring a quiet drink or family meal alfresco. I would personally recommend a visit for locals, visitors and tourists alike.

Don't buy food out it rotten to put it nicely,awrgt for a swally,and if your with good company then the atmosphere is good 👍

came here for breakfast was so cheap and tasty the bacon and potato scone was amazing , just couldn't fault anything. Came the next day for a few drinks and got the southern fried chicken bites only the small plate 5 of them for like £2.99 but the bigger ones about 10 of them came so that was a bonus the sauce was amazing is it nagu sauce

Its actually hard to distinguish between 1 Wetherspoons and another. I think we may have been spoiled recently by the food and service in the Ayr Wetherspoons. This was a little dingy, the lighting is not great (probably off due to rising costs to power a bug place) Food was good , even id slightly over cooked. Service was OK too. Had to queue at the bar for longer than expected on a Monday morning. 1 girls was rushing around serving, another seemed a little disinterested in the place. I would go back for a breakfast, not sure about for a drink in the evening, Motherwell looked a bit dodgy A few of those kids that hide under hooded jumpers lurking about,

It's a spoons, chilled out with a couple pints of Guinness and a nice curry while reading a book. Mates come here when we meet up every three or four months.

Busy but not too busy, staff always doing what they can for you and working hard to keep everyone happy it seems . Service very quick at bar and also in the new app. Food quality and availability is always very high even with new additions and specials on the go. Well done to everyone, your hard work is a perfect example of teamwork. Special praise to Ellie... Not sure if she is a manager or not but very professional and courteous.

It's a spoons.. but don't bother ordering drinks from the app.. only one poor lass running around trying to deliver orders. Took over 10 mins for the drink to arrive. Need more staff for table drinks.

Service and staff were excellent. We were a party of 3 each of us having a different item of food from the menu. I had the chicken with bacon and cheese. Chicken was dry and tasteless and was rock solid at one end. Overcooked then reheated in a microwave. The cheese slice was also rock hard and failed to melt over the chicken. One of my friends had the steak cooked medium rare. It was tough and chewy albeit cooked perfectly. My other friend had the pepperoni pizza which she said was delicious.

Great value for money and nice warm interior. Staff very helpful and friendly.

The breakfasts are smaller and slightly more expensive. Refillable hot drinks is brilliant.

It's a Wetherspoons, so we know what to expect. That being said, it does need a slight freshen up decor-wise. Staff were polite and helpful. Was also reasonably cheap.

Good Scottish breakfast, however I was expecting a square sausage and would off preferred hash broons to tattie scone which looked like it had been dunked in grease. Otherwise a very good breakfast. Note my pops loved the tattie scone, so it's a personal choice.

Always the place to go with wheel chair access

I have visited the Counting House in Glasgow and then Brandon Works in Motherwell. My review is with regards to the inconsistency of portion control and presentation. When I raised the matter with member of supervisory staff in the Motherwell Brandon works, I was told the Counting House in Glasgow portion control was incorrect. The supervisory member of staff walked away from me, which a far as she was concerned was the end of the matter. I feel my complaint was not taken seriously and the explanation given is far from satisfactory. Even showing the supervisory member of staff photos, my comments were not taken seriously or professionally. The cavalier attitude of customer service is totally unsatisfactory and unprofessional.

Had food issues as canopy in kitchen wasn't working had limited menu we both ordered chicken burgers when they came they looked lovely but after one bite the were frozen cold inside ..BOTH MEALS..l took them back to bar and guy said he would replace them, l told him not to bother as l felt sick after biting into frozen cold chicken he apologized and told me not to worry as they come in pre cooked and are just heated up... that's worse, l was more angry when he gave me my food money back but changed for the drinks...which came as a meal deal WON'T BE BACK 😭😭

Chicken Katsu curry was best yet I have tasted. Price for that and a drink was spot on and highly recommended. Wife is a fussy eater and she really enjoyed it. Will be back again for curry night

Awful experience... starting from the laziness, extreme lack of education and bad manners of the girl at the till. She didn't ordered what I've been asking for telling me that it's ain't an option... I and my family visited Motherwell for one night. We arrived in the evening and we're looking for place to have a dinner but wasn't allowed to have a meal while sitting in the outdoor area because we had our DOG - poochon with us and it's a company policy which has something to do with allergens. May I add, the outdoor sitting area was completely empty.

Had an all day brunch & 2 pints of ale plenty of seating

We nipped in here for lunch while we were passing. It looked busy and we though why not. I ordered a chicken burger, my son and partner had beef burgers. When they arrived the chips were warm. Our burgers all had a funny smell about them and were quite greasy. The pictures are of what we left. On a positive note the guy who served me was super nice and the drinks were cold.

Sadly not many positives. Black pudding raw in places, cold beans, soggy scrambled eggs. Overall disappointing but the coffee machine was working fine.

Excellent service and value for money. The fish and chips were crispy and tasty. Served very quickly by friendly member of staff. Would recommend to friends and family if visiting Motherwell.

I often have breakfast here but disappointed today. Items missing from my plate and other items overcooked

I came with my two children. We ordered a burger train and only two arrived at the table. They told me the other one would come and after 15 minutes I asked for the missing burger. Then they told me that I only ordered two and you had to pay for another burger because the staff didn't do their job. They didn't even have the detail of giving the children a scoop of ice cream. They even didn't care if I never came back. and when I turned around I saw the manager laughing. It was very humiliating for me to feel myself. A manager is responsible for making the customer happy even though her waitress made a big mistake. It is not fair and I will never return. I felt quite humiliated and frustrated. And the burger is not great. So….never again.

I've been a local customer at Wetherspoon's in Motherwell for over 20 years and I am very reluctant to give this one star now in 2023. The food quality now is absolutely atrocious and the bar staff are completely incompetent when you ask them a simple a question "is the fish and chips on"?. No doubt they have figured it out between them 24 hours later. Three different answers from three members of staff so my family and I proceed to return to the table and order different food. Another 15 minute wait at the bar because this Wetherspoon's feels the need during peak times to only have 2 staff out front (can't figure out why). None of the food we ordered was on, Large Mixed Grill, Steaks, Fish and Chips, All Day Brunch...all not available and this has been a recurring theme at Motherwell Wetherspoon's since February this year. Don't waste your time, money or effort. Might as well close the place down and open a pound shop because since February the quality of this Wetherspoon's compared to others like Glasgow and Peebles has decreased that much that in my place of work in the local community it has become a very vocal talking point at lunch hour. Goodbye Spoons, Hello Ravenscliff.

So very disappointed the food wee wanted wasn't available no fish n chips curries we wanted were not available so we walked out

Very good value and the staff are gr8 and friendly. It was the first time my granddaughter friend was ever in Wetherspoon and she was amazed how gr8 it was the size of the fish she got by finishing her plate. I made a coment about leaving 5 peas left on her plate so she finish them off as well. We all started to laugh 😂 she was ok about that and she see the funny side of it and laugh as well.

It is what it is Cheap drink, cheap food, ok quality. It needs music for background noise but not the worst

It was very busy when we went in at 5.45pm, but the meals were out on the table really quickly, they were very nice will go back again its value for money.

On holiday from Cape Town 1st visit busy venue on a Friday afternoon prompt friendly service average prices.nice menu super fish n chips and a fee pint. 2nd visit Saturday afternoon also prompt and friendly thankfully no football yobs nice civilised patrons. Great service from Jemma and her team bangers and mash spot on 3rd visit Sunday afternoon good crown and fish good again. Best spot for a decent glass Tenents and a good hot delicious meal. We will definitely visit soon over our holiday. Tim Martin should consider a loyalty card? It's just a thot David Mcgraw Cape Town
