It seemed promising from the outside but the food was just okay and the women working the pub/restaurant were not the friendliest. Neither was off putting but just not the warm and friendly vibe we had hoped for. I think this is a better place to watch a sporting event as evident later that night. Hardly anyone eating there but lots of people watching football. Here's the catch, there are really only two places to eat in town and if you did not have reservations at the hotel restaurant, then you basically are stuck here. If you have a choice, choose the hotel restaurant option.

WOW!!! WHAT CAN I SAY? myself, my wife and her father have just had fish and chips each. That was the best fish and chips we've eaten in years!!! Crispy batter, good size fish, delicious chips and peas. We each enjoyed our meal. If you're in the area, make a booking and have a fantastic tasting meal. Genuinely, I loved my meal. Thank you so much for our tasty meals. It's been a pleasure relaxing here.

Im not one for writing a lot of reviews, however I feel it necessary to write this one. We have taken our granddaughter to a couple of Halloween themed places both in the central belt where we stay but decided to go to another as we're were up Brechin way for a couple of days. I must admit though reading some of the reviews on here we we're thinking of looking for somewhere else. However we decided to stick to visiting though with a bit of trepidation I must admit. Actually thought it was at the castle- my mistake. Found staff to be very friendly from the girl at reception giving out the wristbands to the restaurant staff and the driver of the barrel train. Granddaughter loved that btw. Also ran into Darren the park manager and I feel I must say how friendly he was - taking pictures of us which is always appreciated. Spent a bit of time talking to him asking him about the storm damage and how his team had worked hard to make sure everything was in place for the visitors. Great effort!!! Before going to talk to another family he gave me directions to the castle which was great. The only "negative" thing I could say about him is he gave us clues to find the 2 purple pumpkins we couldn't find but there was 1 we just couldn't get and he wouldn't tell us. Only kidding that would have spoiled it. You can see that everyone has worked hard, the restaurant is really clean, prices reasonable and the food was great - absolutely no complaints there. Loved the shop displays and a good variety to buy at decent prices unlike some of the other places we've been to this year. We're looking forward to coming back up at Christmas time to see the light show. I work with the public too and it can be difficult but well done to everyone involved.

Stopped for breakfast on the way to Aberdeen. Only 8 people in the cafe when I arrived, but breakfast still took forever to arrive. At least in will be freshly cooked I thought. Beans cold. Toast burnt. Haggis & bacon dried out. Egg was ok. First and last time for me.

We chose this place for its historical building. Food was good and there was plenty of tasties and cakes. The thing that we didn't like about this place was its expensive bill and the fact that there were few staffs to take care of customers orders. Wouldn't like to return.

Cozy, rustic, highland hotel with friendly staff, real log fire, excellent breakfast and great location. We stayed for two nights in the autumn and were kept warm, well fed, and slept well. The “rustic“ descriptor refers to quirky layouts and ancient bowed floors that give this place some character, and also to the wonderful log fire and leather sofas in the foyer. We ate in the bar one evening, sadly one of the meals was under the heat lamp for too long and was all but inedible (this small problem was handled excellently by the waiting staff). The other plate was delicious. I’m giving four stars because we enjoyed our stay, and could probably return again, but I couldn’t wholeheartedly recommend it to all of our friends.

We went for a meal prior to a town hall event (the town hall is opposite Willie Wastles). The service was excellent - no delays in our order, and where the young lass who served us was polite, efficient and friendly. Two of us had fish n chips, one had the Tempura, whereas I had the 10 Oz Ribeye (rare). The fish was properly (and not over) cooked - with one battered fish - the other breaded BOTH just perfect. The Tempura (one of our friends is a Celiac sufferer) was lovely and crispy on the outside and perfectly soft in the inside (yummy). I (i.e. writing this review) thought the steak was ENORMOUS and cooked to perfection - caramelised on the outside and pink in the middle - PERFECT! In short, I've taken the time to report .... there's no WITCHES in Willie Wastles .. ONLY Wizards! at good food service. Keep it up!!

Very sad place. Everything looks cheap and nasty. Except the food is not cheap... £9.50 for a prawn or chicken baguette, err no thanks. The £4 slice of cake tasted factory made, yuck. Cheap chair and tables. Won't be going back.

Very expensive but food was nothing special. Fish was cooked fresh but chips tasted like they'd been pre-cooked and sitting a while. Portions are very small for the money too. Maybe a bit too reliant on being the only chippy on Arran and one of the few takeaways in Brodick that's open in the evening. Don't know that I'd have gone back if there was any other choice.

We have been a few times food was really enjoyable. We live near by so really handy . We went in on Sunday to have lunch and were told that because of a big table they were shut till half past one !!!! So we decided to wait and have a look round the shop. We went back to the entrance to restaurant to be told that they weren't serving food till 2 o'clock. At this time we could see that half the tables were empty and not reserved .There were customers before us and behind us that were bemused by the lack of entry despite being vacant cleared tables ,So along with the customers before and after us we all left .Morgan Mcveighs loss was another establishments gain .Its very easy to lose customers but not soo easy to gain them. Has put us off going back in a hurry.Poor management. What a shambles .

I really wanted to give this a better score but I'm sorry, I just couldn't! Let's start with drinks: real ale - if you're pouring real ale, know how to do it! Pouring it the way you pour a pint of stout, won't give you the right results - you'll end up with a frothy pint that soon settles down to a flat pint. Also - keep your ale at the right temperature - it was WAY too cold. The service. This is where some of the points come off the review score. The barman, come waiter was pleasant enough, even if he wasn't particularly chatty. He was absolutely rushed off of his feet though and couldn't cope (not through any fault of his own - he was trying to take orders, serve food and pour drinks (and serve them) for a full restaurant). Inevitably, he ended up making mistakes. Half my chips were split on the floor. They were to be knocked off the bill - it didn't happen. I didn't complain (and I'm not complaining now - just telling it how it was). I felt sorry for the guy and would have hated to be in his position, so I think the last thing he needed was me complaining about some chips. The food - excellent. Good size portions (even without half my chips, haha) and the food was really tasty. Value for money - hmmmm another reason for points off the review score. It's just a bit on the pricey side for the type of dish offered. It is, to all intents and purposes, 'pub grub' but prices for more up market restaurant food. In comparison, we had more or less the same meal a couple of days later in Fort William, for almost half the price. Take a couple of quid off of each meal, learn how to condition and pour real ale (the CAMRA website will give you all you need to know in just a few minutes of reading) and get some help in for the poor guy who was ran ragged and I'm sure you'll end up with 5 star reviews on a consistent basis.

We all got off the ferry looking for somewhere to eat. We weren’t particularly hungry and we were just looking for a small bite to eat. I ordered the pasta it looked amazing . The garlic bread was crispy and delicious. In my opinion, the pasta had more sugar than salt so 6/10 for me. 3 people ordered the croque monsieur and it was the most vast and colossal toastie I’ve laid an eye on. Overall it was a pretty nice meal. 7/10

Probablemente volvería a ir.

What a shame the wonderful situation of the pub wasn’t matched by the quality of the food or service. We sent twice. The first time we were told there was an emergency menu because of supply problems. The food was tepid. The second time we were assured all was back to normal bit the menu still bore no relationship to pur expectations from the website and was average. Disappointing.
