The best restaurants serving British food in Scotland

We chose this place for its historical building. Food was good and there was plenty of tasties and cakes. The thing that we didn't like about this place was its expensive bill and the fact that there were few staffs to take care of customers orders. Wouldn't like to return.

Had the most delicious Scottish breakfast and a pot of tea, best tasting produce that we have had for ages, great quality, nice staff and good price

We visited for lunch by chance, without planning. Place- nice and comfortable, staff friendly and helpful, food delicious and well presented. Real fire!!!!!. Thank you. We’ll be back

A lovely chilled getaway. The staff are so accommodating and left thoughtful touches to our stay including complimentary Prosecco to our room for our anniversary

Always enjoy a latte/americano with a toastie mmmm. Very friendly staff in the restaurant and in the store. Really nice place to go.

Very expensive but food was nothing special. Fish was cooked fresh but chips tasted like they'd been pre-cooked and sitting a while. Portions are very small for the money too. Maybe a bit too reliant on being the only chippy on Arran and one of the few takeaways in Brodick that's open in the evening. Don't know that I'd have gone back if there was any other choice.

Had to laugh at other comments....I think they love their microwave in the kitchen!!!!!!husband waited a good 15 mins for his apple pie and custard....we had all eaten our cake and coffee....so the lady behind the counter says chef is making the custard....so another 10 mins and out comes the apple pie and tinned custard that was overheated in the microwave and literally attached to the side of the plate

We often go here for a carvery meal, and have always enjoyed the food. However we went for a choice of the menu for a special occasion my 70th Birthday. We went for chargrilled sirloin steak what a let down, Every thing on the plate was under cooked. Very disappointed. Would never again order from menu, stick to the carvery from now on.

Stopped in for a beer to break the journey on a Saturday afternoon as I was staying locally & a bit early for my cottage. Charming lady working who served me & very chatty & welcoming

We enjoyed several meals during our short stay here, all of which were really lovely, and the dining room setting - overlooking the loch - further added to our enjoyment. Staff and service thoughout was friendly and engaging, likewise within the bar. Looking forward to our next visit in summer 2025.

Visited here a couple of times and the garden centre can be a bit chaotic with not much of a sense of order in most areas, the cafe has always served decent hot food and generous portion sizes

Both had the fish and chips. It came quickly and was nicely cooked. The cheesecake dessert was delicious. Had two glasses of wine which was reasonably priced. The service throughout was very friendly. Overall good value and a good bar meal. We will come back.

Just what was needed after a day hillwalking on Skye. Beautiful fish chowder, awesome Venison Lion and a Chicken and Leek Pie that would feed an army. Friendly service, thoroighly recommend
