Excellent fish and chips with the lightest crunchiest batter and juicy succulent fish. As a female solo visitor (walking Ayrshire Coastal Path) I enjoyed the relaxing room upstairs and the staff were ultra friendly.

Attended a Xmas night out here with a group of 12 friends. We pre-booked our meals a week in advanced so the restaurant were aware of our orders. Our table was booked for 7pm and by 9.30pm 3 people in our party were STILL waiting on their desserts. I told the waitress at 9.35pm (when the karaoke had started) and she said she would go and ask the kitchen. We told them not to bother because who wants to eat when people are showing up for dinks at night! Food was mediocre, nothing special. A real shame because this place was a great place to eat years ago!

My family and I decided to go for a Sunday roast, the service was a bit slow but the food was really fresh and decent, everyone enjoyed their meals. The waiter/bar staff Christopher was a bit nervous but was really friendly and helpful. All and all it was a decent family meal.

Excellent value for money for first class service and food. The light lunch of very high quality baked potato with the tuna mayonnaise and red onion was exceptional and it was accompanied by a very pleasant side salad and a small ramekin dish of coleslaw and it was only £4.50 or £5.00 for this. It left me feeling very full and the lady who was waiting the bar and restaurant area was amazing, so bright, cheery and friendly giving both of us advice on the full menu. I would strongly recommend this as a place to visit.

I used to drink in this pub always so when it reopened I just went in for a drink with my wife just the once back in Feb 2023 , I went back to try there dinner menu on my wifes birthday with my Son on 28th June we ordered 3 starters and 3 mains which was nice but need to get better desserts as my wife ordered sticky toffee pudding they must have put it in the Microwave because she couldn't eat it but to be fair the server said they were not charging it to my bill , will just go in just now and again as they have a good pint of West lager .

My friend and I popped in here on Wednesday night for dinner. The food was freshly prepared and very tasty, it was a nice cosy restaurant, lovely and clean and the nice staff made us so welcome. This is our second time here as we had our Christmas lunch here which was also delicious. We will be back soon, thanks to the team for a great dining experience!

Went here for family dinner as had wanted to try it in comparison to other places. In fairness it was very cheap. The starters of haggis potato scones were deep fried with a circle of haggis dumped on it and some cream sauce. Lasagne was mediocre and then rest just the usual deep fried beige food. Was hoping for good, honest pub grub…..never got this. Genuinely could have made better in the house. Can’t see us returning which is a shame. We went when it just opened and tempura and haggis starter were so much better. I assume they are focusing on booze as opposed to food :(

Many years ago (more than I care to remember) the Lemon Tree had a fantastic restaurant, airy bright and tastefully decorated with fantastic food. It was not the cheapest but that was not an issue, patrons quite happily paid for quality, the food, the service and the surroundings. The new owner has decided to downgrade hoping cheap prices would attract custom, not a recipe for success . The service is very, very slow. The food is very poor and regretfully in my opinion the decor of the restaurant is cheap, dull and depressing. I would suggest a visit to the Blair Restaurant outside Kilwinning to see how it should be done.

Will never be back, came here for a late lunch and from the get go i had to sit in the bar to eat which is tiny the menu was rather expensive for pub grub! The food arrived after a good 40/45 mins wait and was Luke warm and extremely basic then another wait and my main arrived I honestly never never anyone could get mash potatoes so wrong how on earth to you make a mess of them? They were like powder! So dry it was extremely inedible! The steak pie was ok (ish) but to top off everything there was a HUGE dog in this tiny pub and I mean HUGE like a horse this is the owners dog which galloped over the pub while I ate and went outside for the toilet OFF-LEAD! That’s not what I want to see or hear while eating ? Place is a joke trade and standards would close this place down instantly if they seen that big dog running around like that off lead while customers are attempting to eat there food! I will NEVER be back!!

Was in for a family meal after being recommended to go here, the food was atrocious and very slow service. One bar staff in particular I think her name was Nicky who was clearly on drugs and kept wiping her nose with her hands disgusting. This women’s attitude was shocking also swearing a lot, she was in and out toilets constantly. toilets covered in white powder may I add I was here with my kids. Lots of young rowdy people (out their face ) absolutely appalled will never visit again.

So went to pick up new Glasses today and as I was straight after work early shift was hungry . A Piri Piri place in mall Called Black Rooster ( yea crazy a chicken place ). It had advertised “ Vegetarian “ menu. Corn burger Paneer wrap Halloumi burger All of these. £4.50. With a variety of “ sauce” flavours . I had decided on the “ corn burger 🍔” Oh sorry we’ve “ phased “ those out . Puzzled look on my face … Ok I no would like the Halloumi Burger. Ahhh ok. With what sauce and do you want lettuce and Mayo Yes please Said I. I really want you to enjoy this I will have the Spicey BBQ please and make that a meal thanks that will be £7.50 Now at this point I sat more in Hope than confidence that this wasn’t a hooge mistake . Sadly it turned out my initial feelings were founded. This mess is what turned up . When is a burger not a burger !! I spoke to a staff member explaining my confusion. Oh we’ve “ phased out the Halloumi burgers” and we now only use the halloumi sticks !!! What would you like to do ? The manager should have explained this when she took your order. I’m sorry if she didn’t . Please just refund me. Thank you. So the moral in the Tale . If it’s a Chicken shop . No matter how “ cool and on trend they want to be seen as having vegetarian options. They will most likely still be a piri piri chicken shop that wants to be Nando’s but still fail with even the basics. 🤮

This cozy chilled cafe is a great spot to enjoy a bite to eat, coffee and treat. I had the three cheese toastie with chorizo which was perfect and my son enjoyed the kids macaroni cheese. We shared a raspberry and white chocolate cookie after. Nicest coffee I’ve had in a while. Staff were friendly and welcoming. We will be back!!
