The best restaurants serving British food in Scotland

Great pub,very nice staff too. Went here for dinner Friday & Saturday,the food was delicious,being veggie I always worry what's going to be set down in front of me but I have no complaints whatsoever. Young staff but very attentive and polite,always good when you receive great customer care. We also had our two little dogs with us but no issues at all. We will definitely be back next time we go to the caravan site,so handy just being a 5 minute walk away.

La comida era muy estándar. Le dijimos al personal que estábamos libres de gluten, pero los nachos vinieron y estaban hechos de trigo. La comida tardó más de media hora en llegar. El personal era grosero.

Very average hotel that is definitely not a 4 star hotel. Restaurant decor is dated (threadbare fabric on the sofas), choice of real ales limited to one, dinner specials had sold out by 7.45 pm and breakfast very average (burnt toast, potato scone not properly cooked, ordered poached egg that came fried with excuses that the chef is very busy). Frankly for the same price Premier Inn does things much better.

Fabulous seafood dinner in the Glasshouse Restaurant paired with a lovely glass of Sauvignon Blanc! Ambience & service from their staff was faultless & very friendly 😀

Stopped for coffee and to visit gift shop. Both excellent. Very friendly staff and Jade had really good information about where we were staying. Went back the following day for breakfast that was well cooked and good value. Very comfortable surroundings and spotlessly clean. Definitely recommend.

Lovely location.Excellent coffee but spoilt by dogs being taken out for coffee by their owners/parents.Dogs barking.Get a grip I like dogs but they should not be in cafes and restaurants.

Myself and my husband visited here on 26/04/25. We had drinks at the bar and all of the younger girls serving were absolutely lovely and friendly - a real credit to the place. We also had food which was lovely. Only real negative was that my husband ordered mussels as a main but there were hardly any. They came in a huge pot which was filled less than half and some were closed so couldn’t be eaten. We came here especially for the mussels, which were Really disappointing for the price.

We were out celebrating a friends birthday last sunday and delighted with the services we had. Ross made sure we were all treated like vips and can’t thank him enough for making the night so special. The food was amazing no complaints from our big party of 12 and weren’t waiting long for anything so chef Ryan and his team done fantastic. Thank you again for making the night so special. Great spot to grab a coffee and breakfast. They have good food options and is a quaint and cozy place. I really enjoy their smashed avocado toast.

Great place to go for drinks. James was very attentive and helpful! Amazing customer service all the way through. :))))

If visiting the cafe at the front of the building do not order a mocha. It was awful and I had to change it for another drink. I had forgotten that I’d had one there ages ago that was awful too and had to go back. It had virtually no froth on top and was just a cup of dark brown liquid. Not the usual tempting mocha at all. I suspect it was made by hand without the use of a mocha machine perhaps? I usually use the restaurant /cafe in another part of the store and mochas are normal there.

Evening started really well told we had table till 7.30 but then they apologised we had to move got their times wrong. Ended up in the conservatory with no atmosphere or heating or guests so was about to leave when the lovely lady from the bar came to see if we would like another drink. We explained that we weren’t happy and was going to leave, she was so lovely and apologetic and went to see if there was a spare table in the bar and she found use one. Our evening ended up being a really enjoyable one with 2 more rounds of drinks and a fabulous cheese board.

The castle is very worth a visit. I love this location!!We only went as far as the shop and restaurant. The food wasn’t great. I definitely wouldn’t recommend.
